Why don't women approach guys much?
Posted: 1/6/2012 5:59:38 PM

According to the book I've been reading about "How to Make It With Women", men are STILL required to do most of the heavy lifting in the dating game. WE have to make first contact. WE have to start the flirting process. WE have to get the phone number. WE have to ask for the date. WE have to ask again when she didn't show for that date. WE have to plan, set up and pay for the date. WE have to ask for a second date, and so on.

If men and women are not similarly situated in dating, how can there be marriage "equality"?

It is impossible, especially for the female. We are not made that way

Females were made to get pregnant as soon as they reach sexual maturity.

And yet, few of them have their first child within a year after menstruation starts.

Yes, the majority of men use their other head not their heart! They do not get attached that easy as we do.

I wonder if either is a bad thing.

Do guys like these exist past 35?
Posted: 2/22/2010 7:34:22 AM

I think the never married part is really limiting for what the OP is looking for.
I have never been married but could easily be divorced twice now..I would imagine most people by their mid 30s have had a serious enough relationship that its a bit trivial if they are divorced or not.

Why would that be? Divorce is a huge deal breaker.

Why are successful attractive women intimidating and can't get a date
Posted: 2/21/2010 6:59:19 PM

I'm a very successful CEO and I really try to avoid the job topic because as soon as the men who have average jobs hear this. Seem to get nervous around me and talk about how much more they want in life and hate their job etc. They end up saying they don't think it's a good idea to date anymore because they aren't comfortable with my success while they have nothing to give me.. They say I deserve better and can get better. I try to be bubbly and focus on the good and ignore the job thing. I really need the fun guy in my life..But the thing is I want him. The guy works at a convenience store and is fun and intelligent. How can I get past this job/income thing with men?

Those men do not want to be with you because they feel insecure. I do not care if a woman is more financially successful than me. Why would I turn down a model who makes 10X as much as I do, as long as she is qualified?

As for the dude you want to hook up with, ask him out. If he refuses, move on.

never married/no kids
looking to get serious and eventually married
not just looking for sex
employed (or unemployed due to the economy but previously employed)
average weight (not obese)

I doubt it. Most of those online guys have at least one defect. Notice I didn't say anything about height, income, looks, or anything else superficial? I don't care about that. I don't even care aboute degree, though I have two. I have my own money so don't expect a guy to support me either.

I am all of the above except that I am only 32 years old.

Of course, if women and men want more than sex, then they have to offer something else in addition to parts of their bodies. If your only hook is the prospect of sex, that is what you will get.

As a former model, ugly is one thing I am not. In fact I had my chances to be married, I was proposed to three times. Not my thing at the time.

It would help if you put up a picture.

The obese, 40 year old guys looking for 20 somethings are a comment to a guy who said that those guys can get 20 year old women. They can't unless they are hot and have money.

If they were hot, they would not be obese.

The kid one is a dealbreaker and I've explained why in many posts. For one, not interested in playing stepmother. Second, I don't want to deal with an exwife. Third, he'll spend all his time with the kids (which he should). Can't bend on this one.

Same here. I want to be the first husband of my first wife, and for my first child to be her first child. No exceptions for any reason whatsoever.

And no my standards aren't that rigid because I know many guys like this who married later in life

In speed dating events, I have met women older than me who have never been married and never had kids. SoYeah.

Is it really easier for some to use email than POF?...
Posted: 2/21/2010 12:33:20 PM

...or is that some kind of excuse? In my profile, I specify that I prefer to communicate solely here on POF. But I've written back and forth with a number of otherwise great members who tell me that emailing is easier for them than continuing to message on this site and they give their email address and request that I keep in touch with them that way. IDK, I think it's just as easy to write on here. Why would email be that much easier/more convenient?

There is no apparent difference in convenience. I use Hotmail and check it regularly. (I have two jobs.)

Does not mentioning your age constitute a lie?
Posted: 2/21/2010 12:30:28 PM
True and many fat people list themselves as average! So is that a lie? Believe me, i know it's a bit misleading but it's a search engine reason, not because i'm trying to fool anyone. But maybe that reason is still a bad one to most?

Yes, fat people list themselves as average.

Does that get them replies to their profiles?

At least you're not lying about your height -- or did you add inches there, too, because women want to meet a "taller" guy?

If he adds inches in his height, he might add inches on other things as well.

WOMEN don't do that crap. GIRLS and insecure psychos DO. A real woman wouldn't have to test you.

Real women and girls look alike though, and men would not find out until it is too late.

What do you think of a peron committing suicide over a broken heart??
Posted: 2/20/2010 6:46:15 PM

suicide can never be the answer.

You seem to forget what the question is.

In many cultures, suicide is the answer to dishonor. I am sure you have heard of seppuku.

The world would be better off if Philip Garrido committed seppuku.

And I generally view it a "red flag" when somebody whines a lot about being single (you will have a really hard time finding somebody to like you with that attitude)....

It is important to remember that attitudes do not arise out of a vacuum; they are shaped by experience.

Tesla and the electic aether motors for cars

Get a copy of the movie "Who Killed the Electric Car" about the miraculous
and amazing electric car made my GM in the 1970's that was
given out to celebrities to drive for a year. It never needed any type
of service or repairs, was super fast, quiet and smooth and was a dream
to drive.

So what is the patent number for this design?

It seems kind of strange to blame government regulations for high health care costs, then reference lower Canadian prices where the government regulates the prices.

Some regulations increase prices.

Price controls reduce prices.

Isn't it reasonable to add in health insurance premiums when comparing US taxation with other countries?

No, because not everyone needs health insurance, just as not everyone needs auto, life, or fire insurance. I myself have no life insurance, because I do not have any dependents. I would not add life insurance premiums to the U.S. taxation rate.

Also, you forget that the U.S. has Medicaid, and some state governments offer more benefits beyond Medicaid.

Yes, everyone has to live somewhere - and yes, very occasionally you do hear of some instance of someone retaliating against these offenders - but it's very, very rare. Quite frankly, there is a very high rate of reoffending with this population. I'd rather keep the kids safe than worry about the "rights" of someone who preys on them.

How about relocating sex offenders to internment camps?

It's true. Private healthcare is a lot more expensive.

The average life expectancy in the UK is almost 1 year more than in the US, by the United Nations estimates and by the CIA estimates.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_life_expectancy

But it was mentioned in the past few months that British people only spend about 8.5% on their healthcare, while Americans spend about 15%. We spend half what you spend, and yet we live longer by almost a year.

And, before you ask, we have comparative rates of obesity and smoking.

What about homicide?

Interesting. I've been practicing law in the tort system for over 35 years and haven't seen any breaks

I already gave Roy Pearson as an example.

When MY TAX DOLLARS are used to bail out these (too big to fail) companies and then turn around and freeze loans to the people and businesses who need them and, on top of that, piss away millions in bonuses, you bet I want to stop that crap.

So then you oppose bailouts.

Do you think bailouts are a free market policy?

That "some" greed brought this country to financial ruin.

How did greed in the mortgage industry affect Wal-Mart and Exxon?

Taxing the very rich, instead of allowing stupendous tax breaks, that are disproportionate in comparison, to the middle income levels, and the lower income levels? Why are things like this, not being addressed? Has anybody heard of feudalism, or the economics behind it?

What are the pros and cons of feudalism?

15 Year Old Boy Rapes Autistic Woman In Broad Daylight

People don't want to get involved because you can be charged, sued for your troubles or seriously injured, as a female I would be very reluctant to get in the middle of something involving a man who is physically stronger than me.

Or even arrested, as what happened to a nurse in Chicago who pulled a police officer out of a burning police car and then was charged with stealing the officer's firearm.

People over 30 that are not taken - something wrong with them?
Posted: 2/1/2010 7:48:12 AM

I have said it before and will say it again

A man over 30 not taken (single) will be deemed a pariah by women

This is because I feel most women - certainly not all, will hold the opinion that if the man was a good man he would already be "trapped" by now by some woman.

Many women will first think -- what's wrong with him that no other woman is interested in him, rather than think what is it that I like about him.

More women than not would rather lust after a man that is already in a relationship based on some silly notion that he has already proven himself worthy of a woman's attentions.

Add to this the fact that generally every woman wants what she sees another woman has or perceives that the woman has and she herself does not have.

A domesticated eunuch to them is more desirable as easier to manipulate than a bachelor who lives by his own rules and has come to the realisation that his life is not about having some woman's approval of him.

How would they judge a virgin?

Put a cap on it? I'd like to put a cap on CEO bonuses but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.

Why would you want to butt in to how a company chooses to pay its employees?

Now, for that, you want to limit injured peoples' recovery?

The tort system is broken.

Just ask Judge Roy Pearson. You have heard of him, RIGHT?

No but lack of competition in the health care business DOES!

And why is there a lac k of competition? Are there laws prohibiting the purchase of insurance across state lines?

...A Sexual Relationship WITHOUT Emotional Attachments...
Posted: 2/1/2010 7:42:41 AM

You teach your kids sex is something you do with someone you love. Wouldn't it be best to take on your own advice? Sure we do not do that, but loving someone was the purpose of giving yourself to them. So how could it work without emotions? Women are more likely to gain emotion from how one they are attracted to makes them feel (on a physical note, just having that time put into them does the trick, massage and stuff). Men get emotionally involved when they cannot stop thinking about that girl and she remains in their mind.

Is not measuring up to other people also important?

Massachusetts, where I live, has universal coverage. I hear that Mitt Romney's health care program for Mass is breaking the bank.

If this is true, then we can predict how a similar national system would work out.

Seems that that concept worked out really well, over the last eight years, didn't it ?

It worked out fine six out of those eight years.

The poor, middle and working classes can't support the current load. There's no more juice in that lemon. That leaves only one class left, and their time has come to step up to the plate and take their rightful place in line - at the front.

The reason the debt is rising is not because taxes are too low; it is because spending is too high.

CUT SPENDING.

15 Year Old Boy Rapes Autistic Woman In Broad Daylight
Posted: 1/31/2010 11:15:40 AM
...and no one stopped to help.

About 2 blocks from me, on the corner of Lymen and Rowland, a 15 year old boy had left school early and spotted a 26 year old autistic woman walking to the library. He decided to randomly rape her on the sidewalk at 2:30 in the afternoon. He yelled to her, and when she did not respond, he came up behind her, and held scissors to her neck. He then pushed her down and raped her on the sidewalk. Cars were passing by, honking, some people called the police, but no one stopped to help. You can find the story on http://www.wtol.com/

This is so sad. Is this what society is coming to? That you would see an innocent woman being raped and not do a damn thing about it?

What do you mean no one did a damn thing about it? Some of those people called the police?

Or did you expect them to jump in like Batman, risking getting cut by the scissors?

There was a guy getting beat on a Greyhound bus in front of busload of passengers - basically bleoguened to almost to death. Nobody helped him directly - you know why? I'm assuming because they didn't want the guy to turn his weapon on them and start beating them.. or maybe shoot them if he had a gun.

Maybe we should all get pistols, so that if we see such a thing happening, we can shoot first and not have to ask questions.

When the lights go out.
Posted: 1/31/2010 10:55:09 AM
So many of us dont notice the trends and changes in our daily lives let alone on the world stage. If you mention Oil, so many folk dont realize the day to day lives on the petro-chemical products and services need to run their dailylives. Sorry to say, when Oil is mentioned most folk dont think past the price of gasoline.

No one person can think about EVERYTHING concerning oil.

EP, again we are counting on science and technology to bail us out of a engergy crisis that is in the making...How anyone doesnt believe that one day we will use up a non-renewble resource, and not to have a contingency plan, because "Disaster" won't happen in our life time is short sighted and the norm.

It will not become a disaster.

The entire supply of oil will not suddenly be raptured. As oil prices rise, people will find ways to use oil more efficiently and to use alternatives such as wood gas.

EP, I see the emergence of nations, poorer nations, asking...and soon to be demanding...thier share of the natural resources.

They can demand all they want, but unless they can pay for it, they are not going to get it.

I dont see American v American, before I see America vs regions of the globe banned together to battle the US in courts.

They might as well appeal to the Federation High Council or the League of Non-Aligned Worlds.

As a strain on the world Oil supply worsens, of cours the cost of oil will rise, putting a strain on our and the global economies sending the world into another "true" econionic Depression.

Depressions are caused by a contraction in the money supply. Thomas Sowell pointed this out in his books on economics.

Not all oil is created equal, there is the light sweet crude that comes out of the ground that needs veriy little producing and costs about 5$ a barrel to produce...to that tar-like crude that costs over 15$ a barrel to extract, and more to produce. Canada has vast oil reserves but much is of the tar variety.

Since oil is about seventy dollars a barrel, it is profitable NOW to extract oil from tar sands. In fact, it is the high price of oil that Canada is a net oil exporter.

As of right now if our other sources of oil we cut-off we could not produce enough for our own needs

If that happens, prices will rise and we will readjust our needs.

Although energy and oil production are a resource we need to start to manage to a better outcome, American Food production is looming as a major disater...I believe most Americans believe that the majority, if not most of the corn grown is not for Human consumption but for processing to make food additive as High Fructose corn syrup (sweetner) used in the production of breads, snacks, and soft drinks...the corn is not even edible Humans if cooked right off the stalk.

Prices determine what the corn is used for.

I recommend reading Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell.

You can't keep the doing the same thing after thing after thing and messing up entire ecosystems for centuries (millenniums) to come and expect that everything will be the same for you to live as you see fit.

Prove it.

Just a little case in point...when we tried to use corn as a fuel alternative, that made the price of corn rise...millions of poor Mexicans protested the rise in cost of their daily staple...corn tortillas. This is where resource consumption headed...Does the West continue get to use all the Energy we want, while restricting emerging Nations' their growing resource needs?

Yes.

Again, when the oil runs out, so do biofuels.

So how did people burn wood (a biofuel) WITHOUT fossil fuels?

I don't think anyone can sit back smugly and wait for it to happen. It wouldn't be pretty.

Yes, we can.

We simply adapt to changing prices.

Im talking about a time when more and more of the world wants their share...
we can handel 5$ a gal gas, what happens to our economy when it reaches 10$ a gal.

Ask people living in Europe.

Health Care Cost Increases
Posted: 1/31/2010 10:39:06 AM
I have little patience with people who are covered and oppose health care reform. They've got theirs. They don't care about anyone else. They somehow think those of us who lack are undeserving. I only hope that they themselves get put in that position so they can see what it's like.

Yes, we need health care reform.

Each individual state should handle it; health care reform is reserved to the states and the people, not the United States Congress.

How do you feel about price controls on health care?

In addition we were presented with copays for expensive high tech tests... MRIs, PETscans, increases in hospital admissions, more for ER visits, that sort of thing.

That hi-tech stuff explains why the average cost of health care is rising.

I bet that health care procedures that existed in 1910 do not cost as much as the procedures that you have listed.

If you put mascara on a cheap whore, she's still a cheap whore. The flashing lights, and the strip were interesting. Other than that, it wasn't impressive at all. It's a bunch of machines, and board games designed to part you with your money. I fail to understand the entertainment value.

The table games are great; free****ails are offered. I always have fun.

The shows looked awesome - but at $50 - $100 a pop, I'm not interested. I'd rather go to a few local comedy or night clubs for the same $$$ as just one of their shows. Tack on the price of hotel & flights... and there's dozens of other places I'd rather be....

Six years ago I went to a show in the Golden Nugget for only $45.

- Please do not walk in to the airport/tourist attraction/museum in another country and complain loudly that none of the signs are in your native tongue and that you will not be able to see anything now. You're in another country, and sorry, your language of choice isn't the one used here. You knew that before you got on the plane. What did you expect?

There are people who actually do that?

Well, if there are people gullible enough to fall for 419 scams...

Traveling while single can be scary no matter which mode of transport you choose to use..You could get mugged taking a crosstown bus. You just have to be MORE aware of your surroundings when you venture out alone.

This is true.

Are women ACTUALLY more vulnerable than men, or is it that criminals target women more often due to a BELIEF that women are more vulnerable?

Does he have a problem with women his own age, or does he need someone college-age to feel like a stud?

Maybe there are no qualified, available, women his age.

If you have to ask, then perhaps you are too young.

Why would 22 be too young to get married? I would have gotten married at that age, if there was a qualified, available woman to marry.

See the movie Elegy? It addresses all the issues associated with a 25+ year age gap between the elder, Ben Kingsley, and the younger, Penelope Cruz.

I would not cite movies.

That would be like citing Transformers as a thesis on extraterrestrial visitation.

Dating the physically disabled.

Disabled people in general have a harder time to date then those with no disabilities. Sure you will get some Pollyanna responses but the truth is most people want someone who is not limited. For everyone who says that it is shallow to not date disabled people why don't they date someone disabled or are married to someone disabled?

Disabled women in my age range seem to be quite rare.

one famous guy who fiancee felt obligated to marry him when he came back from the war has already divorced after less than one year. when i saw this man's face which words cannot describe , it would be very hard for a woman to look into his eyes , much less imagine Sex.

Who was this guy?

Supreme Ct. decision to allow............
Posted: 1/30/2010 12:06:36 PM

The worst day in his life was when Brown won in Mass., as it no longer gave him the supermajority he had. Even that proved to be of not much help, as even some of those on his own side saw through him and voted in a reasonable manner.

Scott Brown is a RINO (much like Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins). He would not have won a similar nomination in Iowa or Colorado.

Still, while he supports government-funded health care and public options ON THE STATE LEVEL, he apparently believes the issue should be reserved to the states.

short women/tall men
Posted: 1/30/2010 11:57:16 AM

You understand this statement = women do not care they don't want average they want the Magical 6'0" Man - no matter their own height - it's like the Ultimate and nothing compares to it. It is a Requirement for a lot of women - and no it's not embedded in their DNA - I've read taller Women complain about this and blame Disney because most women watch a lot of the Disney Channel growing up and this is emphasized a lot - the Man has to be extremely tall and the women must be petite and they can protect them against the "boogy man" who is all shorter men under 6'0". This is a double edged sword - it cuts Short Men out and Taller Women out.

I wonder what proportion of women exclusively want men at least 6 feet tall.

This requirement is much more restrictive than a requirement for the man to be of east Asian descent.

I am willing to date a taller woman.

you guys do it too not always about height but legs tits ass face weight hair shit ...when the last time that you gave that 300 pounder thyroid issued woman with the bad acne scars a chance shes got an awesome personality...what about the skinny limped hair woman with no ass

Maybe she should lose half of their weight.

Supreme Ct. decision to allow............

One of the things the part of McCain-Feingold the Court struck down was doing was letting only certain corporations--i.e. media outlets--voice their opinions in political campaigns. And a lot of times, apparently, that tended to favor incumbents.

This is true.

And while McCain-Feingold exempted media corporations, upholding it in its current form would have ultimately left media corporations' ability to publish articles critical of the government at the mercy of the same government.

Justice Alito was right. Mr. Obama's claim about foreign corporations is NOT true. Another part of the statute which the Court didn't rule on prevents the contributions he claimed they can make.

For a Constitutional scholar, President Obama sure does not pay attention.

This fat headed middle aged man will continue to collect MOKF and will leave Gigan and Anguirus on the shelf, where they belong.

As long as you keep it at home, that is fine.

But when you go out,l you must emulate successful people. the key to success is emulating the successful;' the key to failure is being yourself.

The "spin" is that corporations will have more influence.

SOME corporations, such as the corporations that own the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, MSNBC, CNN, and other networks and newspapers ALREADY wield a lot of influence.

The Supreme Ct., on a 5-4 decision decided that it was OK for large corporations to make political contributions. I guess they figured that since the labor unions, who own howdy doody outright, can make contributions, so can entities that actually employ people............

Actually,. the case in question was about whether or not a corporation can run a documentary about a political candidate near the time of the election.

OP, its harsh but... no one likes us for 'just ourselves'. Some people learn that earlier and others later... This goes for men as well as women. Mating and relating is a game of artifice and conformity. Sad to say, that is how the thing works.

Of course.

You can not just put a pS3 CD into the CD drive of a personal computyer and expect to play it; you need an emulator which allows the computer to pretend to be a PS3.

Similarly, the OP needs to have a mental emulator that will allow him to pretend to be a man who could bring a different woman home to bed every week.

Its equally absurd though if you have more exotic interest to expect to find someone with those exact interests...the real kicker is even if you do the relationship gets boring pretty quick..."I like X" "Oh I like X too!"...Your not going to have a relationship based on reading comics togather all day, you both would get bored before the month is up.

The important thing is that he has sex with her BEFORE they split up.

It is always important to keep the eye on the ball, to never lose focus.

We live one life and we should live it the way we want and not the way the others want us to .

Did not Vinson Filyaw and Phillip Garrido have similar attitudes?
