My friend xxxxxxxxxxx died last night, what happens with her profile?
Posted: 3/10/2013 12:58:34 PM
A friend of mine passed away 1 1/2 yrs. ago. I emailed to csr@pof.com. They said the family would need a copy of the death certificate to send in. They never bothered, so her profile is still on line. Another guy about 36 mi. N. of me died 1 yr. ago, --I contacted the local PD there & they must have forwarded it to family, cause it's now off POF. All depends on what the family does with the info..

I'm in Iowa, and noticed a few people I know still show IE as their "intent". So they are not affected here yet that I know, but I have not talked with them lately. Maybe POF is just taking their time, or there are more on the IE side than we realize all over the country??

Search Enginge broken?
Posted: 2/14/2013 6:18:39 AM
I gave the number of searches as 529 that I keep getting, sorry - it shows 129 guys showing up, however many live 200 mi. or more from me. The radius I set at 35 mi., and it always reverts to a much higher radius. Yesterday, I had to reset the age group i was looking for along with adding my state, town, and zip code many times. I do hope the system calms down. P.S. There were usually 35-47 men showing up in my original radius of 35 mi., up until this week.

I have run into the same problem with the search engine. I set mine for 35 mi. radius and it showes 529 in that radius , and each page of it that I go to, it reverts back to a 100 mi. radius. This started happening to me earlier this week. The radius never stays at what I set it at. Good luck to all with this same problem.

Trust me ---- the flu put me out the last month and a half - then a horrible sinus infection.... I am finally getting back to feeling "alive".... it was a horrible 2 months - slept thru both Christmas and New Years ....no fun. Give her a break. Ok I should have read all the posts - but I only read your original post... You need to check with a few other attorneys to see how they would handle this situation - just don't rely on advice from one! Try it - it could help you.

Sniper - great suggestions, thanks. I also love to do the research & investigations! One man I had been seeing a few years (I had red flags) ago, I found a photo of him & his family! What a liar, & I contacted his Pastor & suggested he visit his member of his congregation. Funny - haven't heard from him since - & he's no longer on POF :).

DNA tested for diseases, WOuld you take a look into your future?
Posted: 9/11/2012 4:01:41 PM
Yes - if there was a free test (I'm old and on a limited income). I would not care what it showed. I had a good life anyway & maybe it would make me wonder what I should have done differently!!!! But the tests they give you for it--- are they safe? I don't like Drs., xrays, none of that hospital stuff.. Too much of maybe's, radiation (could do more harm & MRI's.). I'd like to know, then walk away.. Bue I'm still on pof looking for the 1 man ...

You can get into the lot of free sites - but to really get to the bottom of the info there is always a charge. I'm over 60 and on a fixed income --any other "completely" free sites to check on??

Posted: 9/9/2012 11:07:57 AM
Thanks Stephen... I'll do it! Cowboy told me to contact the family ----I contacted the funeral home that held the services for the guy - and he was going to let his kids know. The other family I called & told them ( I know them personally) & gave them the email address Cowboy told me (csr@pof.com). They said they woule do it. Cowboy did say they may have to send the certificate of death to them before they would delete them. These two could be on for years....there's gotta be an easier way???

Paranormal experiences - share them here.
Posted: 9/6/2012 8:31:41 AM
I enjoy all these posts! And yes I'm soo interested in the paranormal! I do believe only a minority (sorry to say I'm one) who can not relax enough to meditate to open my mind to the possibilites of this capability. I'm still working on that! I have had a couple of unexplained "deje vous" - could not explain that. 2 wks. ago I dreamt that a man who I had been seeing, but the relationship ended...was there in my dream with arms outstretched and saying my name 3 times very loudly! And the voice was his, as if he was in the next room. Possibly my subconscious,or possibly a subliminal message to me?

Keep the posting going!

Psychics - your views?
Posted: 8/27/2012 9:57:49 AM
There are definitly people who have this gift. We all have it but we aren't intuitive enough to accept it ....too busy a lifestyle today. Meditation is one of the many aids to bring this capacity to us. But honestly, no one wants to spend the time away from "everything" and "everyone" to just be still & meditate....listen to your mind and body. It takes time.

Mass Shooting at Colo. Movie Theater, 12 People Dead
Posted: 7/20/2012 2:35:44 PM
This was a horrible tragedy! Lets hope they can find out the reason "why did he do it". We, here in Iowa also have a tragedy in Evansdale, Iowa... 2 young girls, ages 8 & 10 have been missing for a week. A lake was drained thinking they may have drowned...their bikes were found near the lake. After no results, it has been ruled an abduction.
What a horrible week it has been, let us all hope that's it!

Ok - we are back in this extreme heat wave again :(. It's 99 deg. here today in E. central Iowa & a heat index of 100+ degrees - It is hot & humid out.... And this week is the week for our big fair, & usually we get rain or flooded out, so we are all hoping for rain! Wonder how extreme our winter will be?

Hoops- Hi, as of 1:16pm in my town it's only 99 deg. now w/heat index of 103 deg.. Humidity is on 35% so it's getting a bit better, however we haven't had rain in ages. Local sweet corn growers...no sweet corn this year. The corn & other farm crops are really suffering.. I have not seen 1 mosquito this summer, my Orioles are drinking the homemade hummingbird syrup, the Robins are eating the Orioles grape jam, had a squirrel eating the green leaf of my container flowers, found 2 dead birds so far, & birds & squirells are "sharing" the water I have set out. Things have changed. Oh...down to 89 deg. tomorrow. I won't believe it till I see it. But we all keep managing, don't we.

You have no idea how I needed to hear from someone like you! You did it and on your own, and people appreciate you for it! Smart blonde - thanks, more good ideas that I hadn't thought of in a while. Now another question, do you mention your slim wallet in the first message back to a guy who's interested, or do you tell him at the first meeting over coffee? I am thinking the answer is the first message back? That way he has an "out" , and saves us both time.

Everyone on here - what a Great group!!! Love these forums and the the words I needed to hear :). You all ROCK!
