Ladies, if he asked you to dress sexy on the 1st date, would you?
Posted: 6/5/2008 6:05:43 AM
I did have a woman request that I wear a shirt with cuff links once, it was a second date, I did wear them but never totally understood the request. She may have just been testing to see if I listened? or if I was willing to honor a request? no idea..... not sure if that was sexy or not

......am i doing the right thing.....????

I believe it's called the "White Knight" syndrome. Where some persons always need to "rescue" someone. Financial trouble requires someone to work their way out of it, or save their way out of it, not beg their way out of it. If she can't figure out her finances, do you really believe you can? Or do you understand that she doesn't want to change her habits, she justs wants you to augment her income. Ask yourself this...What has SHE done to help her situation? I'm not even going to go into you destroying his vehicle, that's Jr. High School stuff. I think she's not the only problem, you need to examine your own goals and your future.

When should you disclose a felony conviction?
Posted: 1/30/2008 8:18:27 AM
I used to be a criminal defense attorney ( 6 years ) so I have some experience in this type of stuff, although limited. I think after a few dates would be best, but I do think you'll have to prove yourself over and over. I'm not saying that's right, I'm just saying I think you will. I think also, it will really depend on what you were accused/convicted of.

He Says Lose 30 lbs and He Will Give you an Engagement Ring.....Would Ya????
Posted: 1/30/2008 7:34:50 AM
Sounds to me like they both have agendas. His is that he believes she is to large, ie. fat..."I believe she said she is a size 16. " I'm not sure if that is a personal issue, or a practical issue. To explain, I have a POF friend, I've never met her in person but we have become friends through POF. She is described as " A Few Extra Pounds " but in reality I know it's more than a few pounds. I also know that I enjoy outdoor activities like skiing, snowmobiling, rockclimbing. All activities that would be very difficult for her, due to her size. That doesn't mean I don't value her friendship, she's great and I really like her.
Her agenda seems to be marriage or..."She wants to get married. At the very least, wants desperately an engagement ring!... " Why do the ring if you're not getting married? and anulment? I assume he isn't Roman Catholic, that can be explained as nothing legal, just pay some $ to the church and they give you a piece of paper, no value to anyone outside of the Roman Catholic church. It's strictly a money thing. But, as he isn't Roman Catholic, his thoughts may involve the legal definition which becomes quite cloudy and can effect the children of the marriage. Either way it actually does cloud the image of the former wife.
However, it is still a very tacky thing to do, I would never say something like that to someone I cared about, and if it is a weight thing, why stay together for 2.5 years?

I like the gal but she smokes
Posted: 1/24/2008 10:28:30 AM
I was always told, you have to be either extremely wealthy to smoke, as it is very expensive when you figure in; health issues, burned items (accidents), sick time, extra cologne, extra breath fresheners, etc... or you have to be stupid. So I assume the real question is, are you willing to put up with the smoking for the wealth? Most of the smokers I know aren't all that wealthy, shockingly.

Must have job, car, house...are they after my cash?
Posted: 1/23/2008 12:51:44 PM
I've wondered that myself ,when reading some of the profiles. My thought is that they are just wanting to make sure that the guy isn't a freeloader. However, I wonder about those women who have that on their profile, yet list their employment as homemaker, but are single. Who exactly is paying the bills if they are being a homemaker? Or is that a clever way to say they are involved in home construction? Sure has me wondering....

Prenuptial Agreements and Maximum Child Support payment!
Posted: 1/14/2008 7:49:48 AM
Actually both of these issues, in the United States are controlled by State law, not Federal. Many issues can be controlled by a well thought out pre nupt. But they need to look at location of marriage and residency.

If someone emails you with misspelled words and bad grammar, do you respond?
Posted: 11/19/2007 1:01:04 PM
A minor misspelling, here and there, is not of much significance to me, but poor grammar can be a turn off to me.

How to dumb myself down?
Posted: 11/14/2007 8:00:35 AM
I have a Doctorate, Juris Doctorate to be exact. I have always had a love of education. One of the things I have learned is how very little I know, in the overall scheme. Also, I can very quickly talk over someones head by using technical jargon, words that have a common meaning, but yet, a very specific legal meaning. I do applaud your efforts to be with more intelligent people, and meet different people. I always felt sorry for a friend of mine who would meet Mr. Right at the bar, then was shocked when he wasn't right for her. She is still "looking for love in all the wrong places." Good luck with your search.

The Checklist
Posted: 11/6/2007 7:33:58 AM
ok, I don't have a real checklist, but the comments about "dealbreakers" is 100% correct. Example; I enjoy fine dining, if a lady doesn't know table manners I would be uncomfortable, and I would suspect she would be uncomfortable and unhappy with me for putting her in an uncomfortable situation.

Should I tell his wife?
Posted: 10/1/2007 3:21:14 PM
I'll bet she already knows. Why didn't you run when he 1) was 10 years older than he claimed, and 2) was nowhere near as he described himself?

Does a woman sending nude pictures or getting naked on a webcam before meeting means sex on the firs
Posted: 6/5/2007 6:02:38 AM
Not that I don't enjoy looking at nudes, or semi nudes etc., but I find eyes and a smile extremely sexy, so sometimes I do feel a picture is very sexy when others don't see it as sexy at all.

I'm not sure if it works all the time, but sometimes the local Bar Asssociation (legal) have some resources to help individuals.

Single parents with NO support base!
Posted: 5/7/2007 11:38:33 AM
I am amazed at the individuals who are single parents, but don't find it necessary to work outside the home. It really bothers me to find a woman (I am a man) who states that she is single and yet lists homemaker as her occupation. I'm not meaning to be sexist; I don't check the men’s area. Perhaps there are men who choose to be a stay at home Dad, I think that can be wonderful; I just wonder how the bills get paid. It's my understanding that homemaker doesn't pay extremely well. Perhaps I am not seeing this correctly but if a lady is looking for another person on this site, does that mean she is hoping to find someone to pay her bills? It is my belief that those charities are looking to help others who are trying to help themselves. I certainly don't want to be misconstrued to mean that I think it is bad to accept charity, I only wonder if charity is accepted rather than seek gainful employment. It also is my opinion that an education can help such situations. If you are gaining an education while raising a child on your own, even if using some charity, you are the true reasons for such charity and I wish you and all like you the very very best.
