Rules

Yes, i guess there is some good and bad things when it comes to the rules themselves. But overall they have treated me well so far.
With that said if someone totally amazing came about that I had to consider a killing one of my rules... i would probably do it.

Rules

Anyone have any rules they abide by when they consider people for dating?
I recently re-assessed my rules and came up with the following.
1) cannot be 5 years older or younger than me.
2) cannot work with me
3) cannot smoke
4) if they have kids, be cautious and go slow.
Just curious on what other rules people have come up with and if rules are really needed. If you have strong feelings for someone should say rule 1 can that?

How can men stop having feelings so quickly?

Men just hide it better. I got out of a long term relationship in 2006 and I think i'm finally ready to get back into something serious.
Some days it still affects me though but I moved on.

Creativity and exploration is fine but she has to respect your feedback and listen to it. Same goes for you too though when she gives her feedback.
Feedback is good. Listen and learn.

how long will you wait for sex?

Depends on a few factors:
1) If any other sexual contact is done between the two besides the actual deed of sex.
2) How much i truly can see myself with this person in 10 years.
3) If she is a****tease.
For the right woman i would wait as long as needed as long as i was emotionally fulfilled.

today's TV shows totally SUCK

TV has been going down hill for years. So much in fact that i haven't had cable for any decent stretch of time since 2003. It's time for the cable companies to rethink how they deliver this content to us in the digital age. I for one just hear about decent shows from friends and family then download them and watch them at my leisure.
There was an article recently that what happened to music is about to happen with tv shows and movies. It basically stated that people are moving to download there shows and this will cause problems for the networks who rely on ratings. Hell your Tivo box records the show you watch it later and the network doesn't register you as a viewer so they loose out on there precious marketing dollars and thus pull a show. I as a downloader also don't register on there ratings.
Cable tv needs to come up with some interesting fresh ideas or they will start to suffer if they aren't already.

Peak Oil Production - Anyone else heard of it?
Posted:

Great site to discuss Peak Oil with others who are interested:
http://www.peakoil.com/
Anyways i believe this is a threat to the world. I believe controlling Oil is a major reason the U.S. attacked Iraq and now may be more inclined to also attack Iran. Especially due to Iran's wish to trade in Euros which was already mentioned in this thread.
Also if one stops and thinks about the world population before the Oil Age it was approximately 1/6th it is now. Could the end of oil have our populations plummet some?
Not to mention the cost to transporting goods from other areas will continue to rise as gas prices rise. Soon your grocery stores will have to stock the shelves with all local produce. No more shipping in stuff from Europe cause the cost will be to high. Major metropolitan areas may have issues with supply.
Alternate energy resources are good but you have to also consider the amount of energy the alternate method takes to generate or the harm to the environment in creating them. A cost benefit analysis so to speak as some alternate forms are not the golden solution some claim.
So when will this happen? I for one don't really care if it's 5 years or 50 years as a solution and creative thinking needs to start now. Not when it's already to late. But will politicians do anything when big oil companies are major contributers to there campaigns or making sacrifices now limits your ability to get voted in a second term? Politicians are all about the now, not 30 years from now cause that doesn't help them in the polls. But times are slowly changing.

Funny Names For Kids

I read an article about twins. One was named AC and the other was named DC.
I always wondered if there is a law against naming your kid say "God".
