Some things just don't make sense. Like pet Phsyciatrists. lol
Okay, you helped him thru a rough spot in his life. He's grateful (probably somewhere deep inside). He like the pursuit of the woman but doesn't want to commit.
BOY!
Move on darlin', lots of fish out here willing to work hard to make a relationship work.

Why Do Guys Do This??
Posted:
5/14/2009 1:35:16 PM
Kind of have the same problem, Pumkin. Get into them and poof!
Just be yourself.
I had a first meeting with a very nice lady, talked for 8 hours, had a second date. The attraction was mutual, we laughed at the same things, had o lot of the same interests. She was already dating someone else and decided to "see where it goes with him". works both ways. Anyway, just be yourself!

When you move, leave him at the curb. A guy who doesn't help around the house is a user.

Should i ask a friend out?
Posted:
5/14/2009 1:12:59 PM
Good way to lose a friend if you ask me. Friend for 8 years and never had a girlfriend? You're not saying he hasn't had a date like some of the people are saying.
My suggestion is sit down and talk, openly and honestly about your and his feelings. He'll let you know if he sees you "that way".
On the other hand, you've been thru a recent breakup, therefore, vulnerable. This guy has been a friend by listening, being a shoulder to cry on, so to speak.
Again ,just talk things out, see where he stands.

How can you tell if a blind date likes you?
Posted:

If you got kissed, it's good. Lips good, cheek, not so good. How was her body language during conversation? If she was in defensive mode, ie; legs and/or arms crossed. definitely not good. Was she relaxed, smiling, laughing? Good signs.

Date undertipped-what to do??!!
Posted:
7/12/2008 11:34:58 AM
Apparently a lot of people don't know that 15-20% is standard for good service and that servers make less than minimum wage. having been in the service industry, I know better. I would have said something while at the table.
If I ask someone out on a date, I figure on paying, meal, tip, etc. Chivalry ain't dead.
However, if she offers to pay a part of it, I won't fight about it.

I would if she had everything else going for her. I have met women officers of the law that I would date. Maybe these guys are shallow criminal types.

What would you guys recommend as traits of 'a good guy'
Posted:
7/12/2008 11:10:04 AM
Good guy, hmm. The same as a nice guy? Nice guy is friend material but not boyfriend. Not to toot my horn but in my limited experience, that's what I've been told and for those reasons.
A good guy is one who treats people with respect, doesn't lie, cheat, steal, or otherwise take advantage. I have seen women who say they want a good guy but then go for the "bad guys". Go figure.

Married but Separated?
Posted:
7/12/2008 10:55:55 AM
Depends no how long the separation has been. If it's since they left for work this morning, it's a deal breaker, (yes, that has happened). I tend to wait until it's done and over with even though I didn't wait a year and a half until my divorce was final.

I relocated. Got married, had kids, it lasted 16 years. Divorced but now are great friends, her family and I get along great. I didn't really have enough going on where I was before to hold me, so I made the move. Call it a leap of faith, sometimes, you just have to take a chance.

You're a freak! Better yet, you are true to yourself and screw it if people have a problem with that. From your pics, you look like a lot of fun. The tats and piercings aren't that big of a deal, I know people that have plenty and proud to say they are friends. It reall ydoesn't matter what a lot of guys say, it matters what one says, the right one. You'll find him, be patient. Luck to ya

Pressure from my mom
Posted:
3/1/2007 10:30:55 AM
Used to get that crap too, even though she already had grandkids from my siblings. She was always trying to set me up with single women she knew. Now that I am divorced and have kids she isn't pushing, I think she figures that I may find "the one" on my own and since it took me 29 yrs to get married the first time, it may be a while before I do it again. As long as I'm happy, she's happy. No one else can make your life fullfilled, you have to do it yourself. As well as, you can't make yourself miserable just to make someone else happy.

Sure, I haven't been to any and the 30yr mark is this year. Geez! where di the time go? I've kept in touch with a lot of my close friends but there are others I am curious about. I was the class "hippie" so I'd like to show them that I actually got straightened out and became something. So many people peaked in high school, I'd like to show off a little.

Styx - The Grand Frustration
Posted:
2/25/2007 3:02:16 AM
Last time I talked to J Y, he said Dennis Deyoung was no longer a part of Styx and wouldn't be as long as he (JY) was. And they would not play Mr. Roboto. I saw them a few years ago when the brothers were alive and healthy. Don't know that Jack Blades is doing the bass for them but they could do worse. Personally, I'll be rocking when I'm old, more power to them. I'd like to see a damn yankee reunion tour.

My ex and I get along great, she's one of my best friends. It takes a while to get there. I don't look at her in "that way" anymore. We are both happy with the way things are now and would not get back together. Don't try to force the issue, just hang out do the things that friends do.

Men being nervous on dates
Posted:
2/15/2007 10:54:55 PM
If you spend a lot of time talking to someone, either on the phone or e-mail, the first meeting goes much smoother because you have already gotten to know them somewhat. I used to get nervous around beautiful women, that may have something to do with your situation.

The benefits of the information age- do they offend you?
Posted:
2/15/2007 10:44:35 PM
In this day and age you can't be too careful. If you can get the info on someone, why not? Used to be that people told the truth, anymore you really don't know. Guys and gals, there are perdators out there, people who say and act one way on the net and are totally different in real life. It's like buying a car, the more information you have the better decision you will be able to make.

Caring about appearance vs. high maintenance
Posted:
1/23/2007 9:13:00 PM
Beauty doesn't come in a lotion or nail polish. If you have to apply it, you ain't got it! I don't mind a woman spending her money on looking good as long as the spending doesn't interfere with basic needs. I spend a little more for a haircut because I have a stylist that knows what I want and I am in business. I have to look good. (Okay, I work with what I have) Cosmetics and hair care don't really have a lot to do with health.

Why do women always want to know what we're thinking? Usually, we're not.
If I know what's going to happen before hand, I'll pack an overnight bag. I have my own place and I like it here. Why would a woman say "I think you should go now"? Did she just want me for my body?

Bass players thread....
Posted:
1/21/2007 2:28:50 AM
I played bass with my last band even though I (still) am not a bass player. I am a singer. My guitarist kept calling me the front man, something that pissed off the drummer. Jack Bruce was in the foreground. Don't forget Flea, can't miss him onstage! My favorite local band is Headz Up, the bass player sings most of the songs and is right up front!
