I will date a drinker, even one that drinks every day
Really? Why?
you forgot the last part of my sentence which read, "but not one who gets wasted everyday."
There are many forms of drinking and drinking every day.
Did you ever think that someone just likes to enjoy one cold beer when they first come home from work? What about someone who drinks one glass of wine with or after supper every evening. Both are people who drink every day. Drinking every day does not always mean getting drunk every day.

What is a real side splitter>>funny<< to you?
Posted: 4/17/2009 7:57:48 AM
Think most (not all) of you might enjoy this.
Something someone sent to me.
Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:
We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.
Here is a model separation agreement:
Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.
We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).
We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood.
You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.
We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N.. but we will no longer be paying the bill.
We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.
You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.
We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.
Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWAR which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.
Sincerely,
John J. Wall
Law Student and an American
P.S. Also, please take Barbara Streisand & Jane Fonda with you.

Dating oline is totaly different from meeting in person.
Posted: 4/15/2009 11:24:52 AM
OP
I mean how many people have gone out on a date from an online site, and it not be what you expected, yet you meet someone in the grocery store and think "I would have never picked him out on a web site."
I have had some dates from this site to turn out not to be what I expected and only one was initially based on looks. In person he looked 15-20 yrs older than his profile's pics. I was shocked. He also drank too much.
The others involved other issues like wanting to get wasted all of the time, either by drinking like a fish or smoking pot like cigarettes. I don't date pot smokers. I will date a drinker, even one that drinks every day, but not one that must get wasted every day.
And some others simply have a selffish adgenda.
Cyberspace is cyberspace. You cannot depend on what you know from a computer to be what you'll meet in person. Still, there are the descent ones that maybe you should take the time to learn more about. Don't be too quick to make a judgement. Like someone else posted, "You can't tell a book by its cover". Some books deserve you taking the time to read it before passing a judgement. This also applies to people.
Happy
to everyone!

Is it wrong to report / turn in illegal Aliens
Posted: 4/8/2009 8:36:50 PM
I read most of the posts in this thread but not all of them.
I think the key word is illegal. If it is illegal, it is a crime. That is really the bottom line.
The title of this thread asks if it is wrong to report an illegal alien. No, it is not.
A good citizen should report a crime if they know of one. However, it really is a personal decision and the variables of the crime should influence the decision to report it or not.
I live in Vidalia, Georgia. There are many farmers in this area and many Hispanics both legal and illegal. I work in Engineering at a cut and sew factory. Several years ago, about 15 years, my employer created a training department and started hiring Hispanics. Over half of the employees at this time are Hispanic. My employer took advantage of this at the beginning by dropping the pay because they could and train Hispanics to do the work at a cheaper rate. Quoting someone I work with, "They would rather work in a temperature controlled environment than to work in fields."
Most everyone of the Hispanic associates that I have had any contact with are very nice. HOWEVER, they have a large advantage over the other races I work with. Majority of them do not have social security numbers and therefore do not pay taxes, therefore their take home pay is higher than a coworker of another race. On top of that, they do get help that our taxes pay for such as food stamps and free medical assistance. That is even more money they are able to pocket where the other races pay for groceries and pay doctor bills, prescription bills, and hospital bills. Their vehicles are newer and more expensive than most of the other vehicles of the other associates. These things are not right.
Last November, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) requested I9 papers on all Hispanic employees working for my employer. After reviewing those papers, almost half of the Hispanics were found to not have the right papers and my employer was given a few days to release them from their employment or they would be fined for breaking the law. Two of the many that were released are husband and wife and are my neighbors. They have two small children and I feel that that family is the best neighbors I have ever had. When I found out that they were not legal, I talked to them about it. The husband said they came here for the opportunity to make money due to all of the assistance they receive in addition to the money they may make when they work. He admitted to all of the advantages they have over the other legal’s and other races due to how our system is currently run. In five years, my neighbors have paid in full for the land and home where they live. I started paying on mine 10 years ago and still have 10 years of payments to make. Personally, I like my neighbors a lot. Financially and professionally, I do not. Illegal’s doing the same job as a legal citizen pockets a lot more money, money that does not go to taxes, money that does not go to buy groceries, pay doctors, pay hospitals and pay pharmacies. This is WRONG. Now ICE forced my employer to terminate those found not having the right papers but have not looked at each of those Hispanics and deported them. It seems that ICE is only forcing them to be legal in order to work but not sending them home if they are not legal. My last sentence is an assumption on my part but the rest of my post is all facts that I know of first hand ... no here-say written.
It is my understanding that it does cost them lots of money to become legal. Nevertheless, with all the money they are able to pocket that legal citizens have to dish out, they should save up that money and become a legal citizen. That would work for those that came over on a work permit that has not expired. But for the ones with expired work permits and the ones that sneaked into our country, if they tried to become legal they would be deported so they continue to falsify papers and pocket more money than the citizens of this country. They are in fact taking advantage of the USA. This is very wrong and I told my neighbors that I felt that way. I told them that is exactly why others come across to them as being racist. Those "others" are not racists. They are simply tired of illegal’s taking advantage of our country's current system and have more money to pocket when citizens like myself struggle from one pay check to the next.
Do I think my neighbors should be deported? Yes I do. They are criminals and they are breaking the law simply because they are "illegal".
Will I miss them if they are deported? Yes and no. Yes because I thought of them as good neighbors and good people. No because they are not as good as I assumed them to be because they knowingly are breaking the laws of this country that is continuously giving them handouts.
Again, the key word is "illegal". No, it is not wrong to report / turn in illegal aliens. More so, if you do it does NOT make you a racist if you do.

OT
About a year ago, for several weeks I communicated with a man from this site via emails and the phone. On his profile, his age was 45 and I was 48. He said his pictures were current. His pictures were nice and he looked 40 something. He seemed pretty nice and honest. He loved to talk more than any woman "I" ever met. He talked about his family, his job, his high shool days, his childhood, etc. Honestly, I thought I already knew every thing there was to know about him before I met him. I did not. When I finally met him and I could not believe my eyes when I saw him. I felt like I just met his father. I could definitely see the resemblance in the picture, well, I knew it was him but I knew he had very old pictures posted on his profile. This man who picture's protrayed him as 40 something looked 60 something in person ... at least 15 years older. That first date was also our last date.

What is the most common phrase you see in a profile?
Posted: 1/18/2009 5:37:01 PM
O.P. On LADIES Profiles... Walk on the beach.. No water in sight for miles and miles were they live.
Love the outdoors... Pictures on there profile have revealing outfits outside. Like in bathing suits, shorts, nice top.
They live right now, were it's middle of Jan and there not going outside in that. Why, (here the tricky part,) no photos of coats or outside in winter. NOT, ALL SOME.
Last: He stormed to his wife in the kitchen and announced.
He went to the KITCHEN to talk.
Now before we get all bent out of shape, the O.P. is asking "What is the most common phrase you see in a profile?" I don't read the MENS...So going by what you Ladies say.
There is great, not so great and some that just down right scare me.
So take whats posted with a grain of salt, unless YOU know the other poster. Alot don't. Still L.M.A.O.!! Alot get right to the point. Thumbs up to alot, still laughing at ALOT.
tn
When did grammar classes start in the threads?
How is this for grammar? W.T.F.?
I guess some of the ones that are so full of them self just love to take lots of pics so to have pics on their profile coinciding with all the seasons of the year.....
geeeeeze! ... Get a life!
Signing off (as I am reminded why I rarely come to the GA forums anymore)
btw

Yet ANOTHER stupid question
Posted: 1/18/2009 5:16:32 PM
Important Safety & Privacy Tips
- Don't give out your email address, phone number, instant messenger ID, or any other contact info to anyone until you have gotten to know them pretty well here first.
- If someone gives you their email address or messenger ID, don't contact them using that. They will end up getting your email address. Always talk to people using *****.com's messaging or IM program, your privacy and anonymity will be secure.
- If someone asks for money or is acting suspicious, flag their message and/or profile. We want to make sure scammers are identified quickly so we can delete them.
- If you choose to email or talk to someone using yim or whatever, we can't protect your privacy. If it doesn't work out, you don't want that person having your contact info right? Just talk to them here on **, it's more private that way.
^^^Okay, I copied that from another site but it is good advice. ^^^
To answer your question Zee, when that person kept asking for your information, then you should have told him bye-bye FOR GOOD! Next flag his profile and then block him!
No need to beat around the bush girlfriend!

What is the most common phrase you see in a profile?
Posted: 1/17/2009 9:09:42 AM
Figured I'd better post an OT reply so here goes.....
This is what I remember the most as common phrases on men's profiles.
1. Looking for a great girl / Looking for a good woman
(okay he's normal)
2. Laid back - not looking for a drama queen
(sounds like he's already had one or more)
3. Honesty
(duh !)---(chit! I think that is on my profile, too....lol !)
4. Nice dinner & long walk on the beach
(hope it is not winter time)
5. Like to meet the woman of my dreams
(dreams are healthy)
6. I can't fix you.
(all women aren't broken)
7. I'm easy going
(until things do not go your way?)
8. Will send you a pic if you ask for one
(why isn't one posted now-probably married is always my first thought)
Okay, I just could not resist adding a few comments of my own and it was all just in fun.
Cyberspace dating is very mysterious and both genders need to proceed with caution.
There are some really good profiles and people here at POF, especially in GA!
I have made many friends here and cheerish them all.
Now, if I can just improve my dating here.....back to profile reading I guess...

What is the most common phrase you see in a profile?
Posted: 1/17/2009 8:37:39 AM
Especially for tnmanalone...lol !
The husband had just finished reading a new book entitled, 'You Can Be the Man of Your House.'
He stormed to his wife in the kitchen and announced, 'From now on, you need to know that I am the man of this house and my word is law.
You will prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I'm finished eating my meal, you will serve me a sumptuous dessert.
After dinner, you are going to go upstairs with me and we will have the kind of sex that I want.
Afterwards, you are going to draw me a bath so I can relax. You will wash my back and towel me dry and bring me my robe.
Then, you will massage my feet and hands.
Then tomorrow, guess who's going to dress me and comb my hair?
The wife replied, 'The f**kin' funeral director would be my first guess!!'

Why do men prefer taking a shower?
Posted: 1/17/2009 8:26:41 AM
Yeah, I agree that the shower is the best way and quickest way to get clean.
But when I have the time, like at night, I'll get clean in the shower and then soak in my large garden tub filled with bubbles and scents and really relax...I do more thinking while soaking in the tub unless I'm reading a good book.
There is another thing 'some' women like about the shower....

Racist to destroy a political sign that someone has posted?
Posted: 10/22/2008 10:02:06 AM
Got to be honest, folks-- the variety of new and fresh topics to discuss in this forum are getting mighty slim.
True.
The GA forums at pof are nothing like they used to be.
None of the regulars posters post on a regular basis and it has been that way for at least 6 months.
I rarely post in this forum...I rarely sign even sign on....

My first reply remains as is.
Blu, you're playing pretty risky bud ... bringing up racism, referencing the candidates, and so near election time.
If you like this topic, then you will be having lots of fun in the near future.
This is sad but it is also so true.
You're smart enough to know what I'm talking about. In this thread, your posts just don't sound like the 'K' I remember.

Tee, I would not even bother with helium.
Just get some cheap balloons, blow 'em up, bunch 4 or 5 together like a bouquet and tie 'em to a sign or bush or whatever fits the need.
And to nice:
just so you know, I was not calling you a wolf...lol

Racist?... too many variables can come into play ... should know them before commenting.
I believe in freedom of speech so I think it is dead-azz wrong to destroy a political sign that someone has posted
... unless it is on your property and you are against electing the candidate the sign supports. Then by all means, rip the thing to shreds!

Ok, lets hear it from the women. What is your idea of a good man? What makes him one you would want? How much do looks have to do with it? Be honest. How much does Financial security matter to you? I am not talking about golddiggers, but his ability to support himself in a comfortable manner? ANd what would you say is comfortable? Would he have to have at least a house, and not a trailor. IF he doesnt have what you expect him to have given his age, does it matter why? What kind of guy could impact you enough to change your minds about certain criteria? What do you consider the prioritys in the quality of man you woudl want? Just curious.
from OP
I see guys answering the question(s) for the women...
Looks like nothing has changed...

Hey Tee!
Looking forward to the pary!
To help in the directions, have you thought about putting some ballons on street signs to help find the turns. It is just an idea and it is cheap, too.

Luv ya like a Sis!

Are my eyes deceiving me?…
Lost your mind hun?
Lord help you please!
Just look at what you’ve done!!
Not a place for such a fine lady
On the auctioning block.
Think you need to lie on the couch
And have a nice long talk with your doc!
A nice guy I thought you were…
Rethinking my opinion
After what you’ve done to her.
Shame, shame on you!
Too much time on your hands?
Nothing better to do?
Bored ole sneaky man.
Shocked! At what you did.
We all know what you’re up to
Confiscating all the bids.
Also,
I’m turning you in to DFACS
For the sake of your kids.
My words to you
Is just a waste of time.
You shameful man
Begging for pennies, nickels and dimes.
I’m not in the threads much
My posts are rare and few
But when something needs to be said
Saying it is exactly what I do.
Women, we stick together.
Messing with the lady’s friend?
My, my, thought you knew better.
Regrets? Oh, don’t you pretend!
You should beg forgiveness
You sneaky and mean ole one.
You’ve done it now
And it can’t be undone.
What will you do next?
OMG, I can only imagine…
More horrid and shameful actions
From a guy who is tetched!
Just don’t whine
And carry a torch.
If you can’t handle the heat
Then keep your butt on the porch!
Un-wad your panties,
Mr. Sneaky ole man.
My post is in response to
The last sentence from msg # 4,
Read it and you’ll understand.

Unrealistic Expectations
Posted: 10/16/2008 4:49:52 PM
Good post reb!
Hey blu! Congrats! Yeah, I checked out your profile! I'm so very happy for you!
I'm off topic...I know, but just could not resist.
OT
Dating sites are just that...cyberspace dating...hiding behind a computer...desperately searching. After two years of dating sites, believe you me, my expectation are NOT very high while in cyberspace. I have made lots of very good friends here but no luck in dating anyone special. I love to chat in the forums...and if I get a date, well that's cool as well but I won't loose any sleep if I don't.
People lie so much in cyberspace and it usually starts in their profile.
We also lie to ourselves thinking we are going to find just what we are looking for.
Yes, a few have been lucky but the odds are low. Friends, be real!...this is freak'n cyberspace!
Back to profiles:
I came across a new profile which belonged to someone I used to work with.
On his profile he had that he was a non smoker so I asked him when and how did he quit. He told me that he lied.
Then there is the profile who is looking for a partner that cares about their weight and takes care of their body/health. Next you check out the pics on the profile and your eyes tell you that this person's gym card expired a long time ago. Talk about contradiction!
Alright, I'm zipping up and going to see "Who Viewed Me!!"
yeah, right...............
signed,
Cyberspace's sour puss

What is it with 50+ women and wanting to stay single???
Posted: 10/12/2008 11:51:30 AM
OP it is as it is, accept it.
Maybe you should be asking yourself why you have wanted to marry three different ladies in a short space of time?
Great point!
Okay, I know a male started this topic about 50+ women wanting to stay single,
but still, my comments go both ways. Just wanted to be clear about that upfront.
"Some" men want to get married too soon. When a man does not take enough time to know certain important things about the dating relationship before asking the big question, then he is too desperate to be married. Plain and simple.
Just to list a fewimportant things a man must know before wanting to marry:
1. Am I positive that she is willing to leave her home and live with me or I am willing to leave my home to live with her?
2. At 50+, one tends to be set in their ways. There will be lots of compremising to do in order to make a relationship work. Have we discussed this and are in agreement?
3. Is she in love with me or does she just love me and enjoys the time we spend together?
...The list could and should go on. Marriage is a big step.
Loving someone and being in love with someone is not the same thing.
If a man pops the big question too soon then if the woman is smart, the answer will always be no.

CHOCOLATE CAKE/CHOCOLATE ICING- Sexy, always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious and passionate. You have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.
As a kid growing up, this is the cake I always asked Mama to bake for my birthday.
I am still a chocolate cake lover!
...did not realize that I have a cold exterior....????
hehehe

54 days and counting....
I like an event that gives you plenty of time to prepare for!
Tee, you have my number so let me know if you have any last minute needs for your party. I only live about one hour away at the most.
I'm 15 months behind you so I will be taking notes on how to give your own big 50 birthday party.
That is too big of an event not to have a party and be with your friends...after all, you've waited half a century
Just picking...luv ya lady!
I "know" this is going to be one great party!
