Why not? I don't care why. I think it must be pure accident. Well maybe not. Even men want a chest. It makes the chin look like it is not 'sticking' to far out. That is, to have a chest. If it was purely accidental, then it would not be 'intimidating'....

Pre-script: Thinking is feeling. One day I went to my friends house and my friend was not there. I entered the house and for some reason fell asleep in one of the rooms, on the floor, perhaps it was the laundry room. Late at night I thought I would be mistaken for an intruder. But no. I was awoken to sensuous life, which is endless. I am not 'with anyone' but I did have this dream. Having nothing, I have hadmore, than I possibly could imagine having in reality. Why is that?

The only idea which is 'real' is the idea of the whole. Therefore, the only time we feel the most 'real' is when we have an idea of the whole, and that might occur in a dream, or by being awoken by a 'dream'. It was friend who awoke me in my dream, and we are not married, nor do we see each other often. Strange, because it has happenedd with me before. Someone will pay a visit to us in a dream and bring this vision with them.

This friend came to me in my dreams and made me feel whole and exsquitely happy. And I know it was nothing, because it never really happened.

This URL also relates how 'misogynist' were men like Saint Paul of the early Christian Church. According to Saint Paul [Saul of Tarsus] women should remain silent, and are second rate. This was the 'consensus' among men in those days.

Obviously this cannot be true. For example, there are more women attending Universities in both some Xtian and Muslim countries.

So then what to do?

Obviously cultural and social conditions 1400 to 2000 years before present were much different than they are today. Today we have 'equal opportunity' in many areas.

Malaysia has more women attending University classes than men, and about 50% of the population is Muslim. This is similar to Canada, which has about 50% of the population as Xtian.

you really don't know the topic here... Before you take a strong position like this, you at least ought to read about it a little bit...


Guess I should put my credentials out on the table then. I have studied theology, and philosophy in depth, as far back as I can remember.

I am reading the Koran right now, an edition which is available from the University of Evansburg. I like it...but my strictly narrow opinion is that it alone would not be sufficient for everyone in this world. It cannot be said to be the most complete religious text. In fact this is recognized in the Koran where implicitly were are referred to the Old Testament, the Pentateuch, et cetera, the Gospels.

That is precisely what I have not taken is a 'strong position'. In fact, I have not taken a position. What I am saying should be so obvious that it should not be even in question.

"Forgive the sinner, shame the sin." " Love the sinner, and hate the sin."

Sin is nothing more than 'inappropriate acts', which in other terms is 'anthropological evil'. In strict Islamic law it is forbidden to drink alcohol. However, in Xtianity this is not forbidden, and certainly Martin Luther did enjoy a lot of beer from time to time [except when he was an ascetic]. The Koran however could not have ruled against the use of alcohol completely because as we know water was scarce in the Arabian desert. Wine and some milk naturally ferments within a week or less. Thus it would be impossible to not drink alcohol and stay alive. In fact the word for 'wine' in the New Testament is the same word for 'grape juice'. There is no difference between the 2 drinks.

The Koran in my opinion forbids drinking which makes a person 'insensible'....I have not read where wine [or alcohol] is strictly forbidden. So is using alcohol a 'sin' for which a severe punishment is required?

We have laws, and they have laws, and vice versa. The real conflicts in this world usually involve one government and another: Nazi Germany and the 'axis' national governments and the 'allies' national governments.

Okay! Innocent people more often get killed or injured as a result of government 'crimes' than they do from natural causes such as tsunami's, forest fires, floods, and wildfires. Organized religion also has caused many innocent people to suffer and to die.Just look at how many Jewish people died because of the Catholic Inquisition. Look at the fighting which is occurring in the Sudan right now, for instance. The UN says it is not genocide, but something more like 'civil war'.

They have no right to judge others, in the Bible itself it says," Let he who has not sinned, cast the first stone". That means if you ain't God, you are not the one to be judging others. Only God has that right, and no one else.


I guess this could be applied universally in law as either a literal admonishment to never harm another person. My take would be to suggest instead of punitive measures applied to sinners, that they be shown where they made their mistake and corrected. However punishments which do not suit the crime, are really 'multiple sinning'.

Laws are 'a discovery of reality' [Plato, The Statesman], and our consensus is that 'stoning is a multiple sin' perhaps causing God to hate both sins, but not the sinner, who is ultimately forgiveable. The sin cannot be forgiven, though.

In both the New Testament and in the Koran it is preferred as that we 'turn the other cheek' when someone harms us.

However, there still needs to be laws which protect innocent people from crimes, and 'due process' applied in determining the truth. Therefore when a 'court of law' applies a verdict and a sentence, there is no one individual who is 'without sin'. In fact the law is supposed to be used in place of 'individual' forms of retribution. Thus there is a Koran and a New Testatment which are directed to personal conduct, which by themselves would make for 'good order', the 'rule of law' and 'good governance'.

Therefore at the personal level, it is very likely that both Xtians, Muslims and Jewish people can avoid 'broken' hearted relations. The moral tenets of the religous texts intersect and overlap where it is vital and importan. However, with respect to family, civil, and criminal laws derived on these texts, and practice, there is not as much similarity and overlap [cf. Rawls _Theory of Justice_ Overlapping consensus].

There is though a serious conflict however between the various 'sharia' laws and Xtian based codes of law, at least in the 'sentences'. The Wasabi style of the Sharia is not compatable with Xtian and Jewish based law, as far as I am concerned. There is also serious conflict with respect to Catholic church laws and Protestant church laws. In fact even more so, than when comparing Islamic and Jewish based laws to Protestant in some cases.

If Theology is the 'science which studies the *highest* actuality' then there always will be hope, faith, love and charity between different persons who have unique and diverse spiritual practices and beliefs. People are dynamic in their ability to appreciate the richest and truest knowledge, and many people have 'multiple conversions' along the way. It is very appropriate and possible for 2 people to love each other even if they do not share exactly the same practices and beliefs, as long as they both appreicate what is called 'aspiring passion', and that includes their love for the Beloved Who Dwells Within, the Median, and Anchor of Faith, the Heart. Our own intimate relation with the Creator is felt as though He is our 'ownmost hear', Heart. Our 'center of beatific vision' too....

Well it may have been a typo as far as I am concerned. There were no originary first muslims during those days which could have understood the original Hebrew of ancient times. The language was dead - totally - by 2500 years BP [before present]. The arch angel Gabriel, who is the spirit of truth to Muslims, was a messenger, and a messenger between God and Daniel, as so to others.

It is therefore impossible for an archangel to speak to to Daniel, to Jesus, to Mariam, mother of Jesus, to Mohammad, and to Joan of Arc, and contradict God's words. Since angels are messengers, then it is impossible for God to contradict himself. All peoples of uniqueness are preferred by God [Allah].

How could God change his opinion about the Chosen people who had lived much earlier? Thus what is expressed here regarding an interpretation of the Koran is akin to a 'logical fallacy'. God prefers good _mathesis_ versus _alogos_.

It is impossible to determine exactly what was spoken by Gabriel in the Koran because much of what was recorded was mediated and memorized by Mohammad and Mohammad was illiterate. Nothing was written by Mohammad, but only by others who listened to him, and this was recorded and put into vessels. Some of it was only remembered by the listeners. [just the same as the Gospels which were written long after the resurrection]. It would be impossible to discern precisely what was the opinion of Mohammad, and what was actually the message of Gabriel.

We know one thing about Mohammad though. He was walking one day through the neighbourhood and an old Jewish woman came out and threw garbage onto his head purposely. Then the next day the prophet was walking in the same area and went to speak with the old woman. She found him to be very nice, and asked for his forgiveness.

Lesson: to not return evil with evil. Use common sense....

Texas Teenage Virgins

Last night we watched Texas Teenage Virgins. Thanks to ex-Governer George bush, it's apparently illegal for schools to teach sex education. This, of course, is leading to soaring rates of teen pregnancy, but the religious right are insistant that they are doing the right thing. Teens are encouraged to take a "purity pledge" saying that they won't have sex until they are married. Sixteen-year-old-stepdaughter and I watched in complete amazement. Of course it was unintentionally funny in many places[1] but ultimately it is deeply scary.

I think the larger question should be asked regarding sex education in schools. Apparently the rate of teenage pregnancy AND veneral disease is highest in Texas where sex education is not made mandatory in the state school curiculum.

I agree that having a good conscience and good faith is ultimately the only measure in the end. Self-evaluations which are as truthful and as good as they can be, are necessary at times.

Right. There's no point in arguing if we are not going to accomplish something, in my opinion, & we may as well retreat and find silence in doing something more enjoyable. Put on fragrance's and find new harmonies.

Religions also include just about every ideology there is: communism, socialism, conservatisim, and others. I have a new ideology: neolithicons [new stone age conservatives]. The word religion actually means 'obligation' more or less. Reading the biography of Mohammed by Will Durant, I see a interesting prophet, but not a good scientist.

It is pretty difficult to accept everthing in a religious text literally. For instance, if we did what was best in the New Testament, our species would perish. There would be no marriages, and no offspring. It would be best to deny the self almost entirely.

In following the Koran this would also be somewhat true. In fact Mohammed lived very simply, even though he was a ruler of all Arabia. It is also odd that a ruler who could command large armies, would live so simply.

As counsel for the wise, I would say that they both are very good for personal growth and meaning. However neither is too good for the establishment of organized institutions, and states. This is because of the personal element according to their stated intentions: it is okay to deny the self certain luxuries and privileges, but not deny these to others based on legislation and church law.

So assigning absolute authority over to a head of state, and army, or assignment of the same to a 'pontif' or 'ayatollah' would not always be the most 'provident' because their would always be room for 'interpretation' and not everyone is as 'simple in lifestyle' as was Jesus and Mohammed.

For instance the Catholic church under Pope Leo, ran out of money to build St. Peters Basilica. Martin Luther at this time, declared that the Basilica should be sold and the money given to the poor. Leo instead granted indulges to raise the money. Indulgences were little written declarations guraanteeing the salvation of the purchaser of the indulgences, promising eternal salvation and life in heave, forgiveness of sins. The faithful thus were giving away some important funds which could be used for practical purposes, and indulgences of course do not work. Leo was using fraud to obtain funds to finish the basilica.

If a person runs out of money to build there own prayer/meditation room, then they can either go to the bank and ask for a loan or save and work to finish the room. The effect on the national treasury is almost nil, and we are all better off.

All religious texts can be interpreted and become subjective, or personal. Much of the arguments made are actually examples, which are highly persuasive, emotive, as they should be. It is difficult to fully interpret the meaning of 'turning a cheek' so the person who has just slapped you can slap the other cheek.

Other than you have to 'roll with the punches' in life;

Refers to the Elohim as God, having an image.

"God created man, in the likeness of God made he him" (Gen. 5:1, 3).

"He that sitteth in the heaven shall laugh" (Psa. 2:4).

God is given human attributes, has to have flesh to laugh.

"Hide not thy face . . . incline thine ear unto me" (Psa. 102:2).

God is speakig with an audible voice. God must be flesh then.

"He hath looked down from the height of His sanctuary" (Psa. 102:19).

" ... sat on the right hand of God" (Mark 16:19).

God has a right hand.....God was made flesh.

"Man... is the image ... of God" (1 Cor. 11:7).

Man has flesh, then god also has flesh because God has made an image of Himself.

Again...the messenger/prophet has become the image of god [imago dei], and 'incarnate' which is a latin word.

"Men, which are after the similitude of God" (James 3:9).

Basically any method or way to have knowledge of a Creator of nature, has to be somewhat 'anthropomorphic.' Our primary relation was with one or both parents.

However spirit, which is pnuema in Greek, means 'breath being'.....There are many aligned meanings of spirit incluiding 'attitude', and attitude is in essence a form of 'propositional thinking.' Thus some have it that if you accept Jesus into you heart you will be saved.

Being saved is also to have your sins forgiven, and to find belief.

So there are a multitude of different ways to find faith and forgiveness and belief.

In the Koran, I think it is expected that if you are a believer, that you are a good-doer and kind, then you will have a reward but not necessarily in this life. If you believe you will also not be tested beyond your capacity.

It is difficult to compare and contrast Xtianity and Islam because there are so many versions of each....

Who knows

You can therefore be saved by 'faith along'

Basically this are metaphors and similes....So it is actually the 'imagination' which saves, or forgives sins, and the spirit is the attitude which results, a new proposition on life.

I think your quotes are from some other texts. Jesus was not God in the flesh, but rather a person sent by God.

I don't believe entirely in a literal intrepretation of the Gospels, nor an entirely literal interpretation of any religious text.

You have an 'interpretation' of select texts in the Koran that are not correct. I hope that you can find a better one.

If in reading, you are persuaded to believe and do good, then God has helped you realize His will.

Because to will the good is to will one thing, and that is purity of heart.

I am just reading the Koran, and have found no references claiming Allah would be compassionate with those who kill others because they 'may not believe', especially Xtians and Jews. If anything the Koran teaches compassion and mercy. The Koran even asks that animals be respected, and treated humanely.

There are a few references to war, and how to act in war if you are a believer, and there are no distinctions made between Xtians, and Jews in terms of their beliefs versus the beliefs represented by Mohammed. In fact muslims act and believe just like Jews and Chrisitians without the Trinity and Deification of Jesus as the Xtians demand. Accepting the muslim faith would be no obstacle at all to a Xtian or a Jew; to do so would be like finding your long lost brother or sister. Alas!

There are only a few harsh statements that I can find, and these seem to be out of context with the rest of the book. Mohammed was probably 'caught off the record' by someone with a good memory, or misunderstood. [In one case he says it is okay to have 3-4 wives, and in another it is best not to have more than one.] In fact he says that it is impossible to prefer more than one wife. He was married to widows after his first wife passed away. [I am paraphrasing here based on memory, not the open text or biography.] Most religious texts are 'persuasive' and 'opinion' and even Allah has an opinion and is 'persuasive', Allah is a diminuitive term for Yahweh, in Arabic, just as Isa is for Jesus or Yeshua [Ayramic]

The Koran was collected from oral statements and recorded on leaves, bones, paper, memorized and so on, and was stored away until after Mohammed passed away. It is not sure whether these statements were intended to be published by Mohammed. It is not exactly known if the statements were correctly translated, and transcribed. At any rate the whole of the text appears to be 'persuasive' to me, and perhaps, it has been said, to be the first great prose literature of the Arab peoples.

It is a very interesting work of the heart. However my background is philosophy, so religious texts for me have to be 'felt' not analyzed. I have to 'agree' with religious texts using my sense of 'persuasive' moral argument, and my heart, not my intellectual and discursive reasoning powers; that is where I would apply to the nature of what is holy, and sacred.

That's funny. Hat and other sizes all the same. To me that kinda refers to some small towns I know. But yeh we all make choices in our lives, like where to live, whom to play with, and when to play.

My opinion is different on this. Intelligence has a wide applicability. A smart cowboy would be one who while not being able to earn a large wage, might have lots of free time, especially in the winter when they are just feeding cows hay and repairing and maintaining equipment. The same with loggers who spend breakup doing nothing much.

One buddy is a grain farmer and he goes diving in the tropics in the winter months. In the summer he might work 16 hours per day, and sometimes he guides in the northern forest, takes guys out fishing. His 'girlfriend' lives in the nearest city. They see each other when they have the time. He looks after his elderly mom on the farm.

I think it is a sign of true intelligence to use one's free time as wisely and as productively as possible. Thus the person who is left with time has the choice to learn a language, play a musical instrument, read literature, become cuisine cook, and create art. What ever. There are instances where 'hydrochepalics' have obtained PH. D., persons with physical handicaps free climb rocks.

I know because I got my last degree studying in my spare time. I have forgotten most of the time that I have a post graduate degree, because now I am studying other subjects and broadening my skills to include home renovations, mechanics, parenting, et cetera. Will I ever get to use my graduate degree? I hope one day to get going on this. I have a business plan which was accepted by an Italian bank...but no time. Should I delegate? Should I consult? I should wait until young son gets into school.

Now the issue is finding the time to keep up with all the interesting things life has to offer. I want to start travelling again, but have not had much time recently. Going out and finding someone to do activities with is about all I can do [go skiing, or hiking, for a day or weekend]. I have not even had enough time to do this yet.

I sign of an intelligent person is one who is happy and learning as they go. Yo soy por supuesto tu amigo.

looks like Michigan is violating this secction. the last sentence says "No state shall make or enforce any law which shall....deny to any person within its jurisdication the equal protection of the laws."

So because other states have equal protection, Michigan should have the same. Just because you live in Michigan should not mean you are disqualified the same treatment as someone living in other states where the laws demonstrate equal treatment. So if the mom can always obtain a blood test for paternity, then so should the dad. This law set up for the 'best interests of the child'. Thus it has to....based on common law, as well. A child should have the same rights as any other child in the other states.

yes the act is clearly against the US constitution because it discriminates on the basis of sex. It appears that a mom can ask for a paternity test is she is married or not [by presenting a preponderance of evidence]. Also the act appears to discriminate against the rights of children. It constitutes a 'crime' because it can give one parent the right to abduct a child from it's other biological parent.

The other case involves a common law marriage, and the mom got married after the date of conception.

The act discriminates against children.

I am not to sure about this. My son who was spending a lot of time with his mom, recently, while I was working full time really missed me. He was concerned also because his little friends at daycare had dads who came to the daycare to get their sons. He was wondering why his dad was not there, and was sad. For the first 2 years I was the primary parent, 4 days per week, every week.

The fact is that if one of the primary parents, the dad has been very active in parenting on a 3/4, or alternating week situation, then there is definately a need for the dad. However if the dad was not there as a parent, then for very small children, perhaps less then 3 years-old, then there would be no real need for a male influence. And the opposite case is also true. If the mom was not present for the first few years, then it would not be an issue either, boy or girl. I know lots of men who have raised families without women around to serve as moms. These children turned out wonderfully, all married now and professionals with kids of their own.

However there is one very important caveat here, and this is proven in various research journal articles. Older boys without a positive male role model [dad or father figure] are twice as likely to be convicted of crimes, than are boys with dads who take time to be with their sons. The fact is that boys without dads are going to associate with an older peer, who more likely may also not have a positive male role model, and likely engage in crimes or acts which are not good. This is so obvious to any boy that it should be beyond argument. The stats are 100% increase in the rate of crime convicted for boys without dads compared boys with dads [for the US] and in Canada it is 70%.

When I grew up all the boys without dads had problems in adolescence.....Sometimes an older brother serves up well, along with a very active mom though. A mom can do it, but it takes some real effort. How many moms want to spend 20 hours per week with the boys....fishing with them, playing sports, et cetera?

Just my opinion but this is already apparent with my 3 year-old son. He was crying when I went to work full time and I only saw him 3-4 times per month. He was going around in the daycare saying where is my daddy? The other little boy [5 years-old] told the daycare worker and me that "he wants to live with his dad." The daycare worker heard that and so did the ex.

Does that make sense?

This might help. It seems to read that a child which is born, but is not the 'issue' of a marriage [born to a woman who is married, but was not the child of that marriage], may have paternity testing.


Just have to ask a court to establish a reasonable belief that you are the biological father, then they will get the test done.

May be ask another lawyer about this.


What is The Michigan Paternity Act?


The Paternity Act 205, Eff. Aug. 11, 1956 grants standing to seek a determination of paternity to a child born out of wedlock, the mother of a child born out of wedlock, the father of a child born out of wedlock, or the Family Independence Agency on behalf of a child born out of wedlock who receives public assistance.

The Act defines “child born out of wedlock” as:

“a child begotten and born to a woman who was not married from the conception to the date of birth of the child, or a child that the court has determined to be a child born or conceived during a marriage but not the issue of that marriage.”

Thus, there are two ways in which a child can be considered a “child born out of wedlock,” and a putative father can seek paternity under the Paternity Act only if the child falls into one of the two categories.

As to the first category—that of “a child begotten and born to a woman who was not married from the conception to the date of birth of the child" the Michigan Court of Appeals has interpreted this language as requiring the mother to have been continuously unmarried from conception to birth in order for the child to be deemed born out of wedlock.

As to the second category—that of “a child that the court has determined to be a child born or conceived during a marriage but not the issue of that marriage" the Michigan Supreme Court has interpreted this language to require a court determination that the child is not the issue of the marriage prior to the putative father filing his complaint seeking paternity.

If you can prove paternity, then it should be possible to obtain custody. Can you prove the what the date of conception was, where you both were at the time, any written proof, blocd tests, et cetera? Parents who restrict or prevent access, visitation and custody of the biological parent are often found to be 'cruel' to the child. The child has a right to be with it's parent(s).

The court would be obligated to rule in the 'best interests of the child.'

Also you were a parent of the child for some time, "you total responsibility". Even if you are not the biological father, there are cases where the legal parent is also awarded visitation, access and custody. The reason is that the child was bonded to the parent once. The child would not know the diffrence anyway, how could it?

It is difficult to get custody if a parent cannot prove that they were a 'primay parent' at the time.

I would consult a different lawyer or expert.

Sometimes 'marital' rights or family rights change after a long separation. For instance here it is required that a divorce action be completed within six years of separation in order to 'divide' family assets. There is no limit on custody though, anyware. The rule is always what is 'in the best interests of the child.'

Well, 'absence' often makes the heart grow fonder. So "knowing what it feels like to be without you" is a good test of real fondness, adoration. It may be that all is required is some 'adjustments' in the routine of living and being together. Sometimes there are pressures which are difficult to deal with: kids, family, job, health. So it is necessary to find the 'right' balance and sense of 'boundaries' to avoid an onerous dependence on what does not fullfill. Co-dependence therefore is first of all not being true to thine own self, and limits spontaneous creative fun. And not being interested much in the external world....

Some may even desire some 'rules of engagement' if they are martial arts afficionadoes.

Co-dependence is like being in the position of 'obeying' another persons rules and eccentricities, but not having enough 'deliberation' to review or live by one's own rules and eccentricities.

A 'test' was devised:

after spending time [a weekend] with the beloved, do I miss them?; if not, then it is clear that I like myself as well or most likely better without that other.

Urban live granted is different than rural life. The rural life offers friendship in every person whom you greet, and meet [generally].


We can never be solely without the other person because of our memory of being with them, and it is the emotions, values we feel when we remember.

We can miss ourselves too, especially if we are working long hours and not spending time involved in the diversions we really enjoy.

Take time to enjoy the simple things you enjoy.

Well I was trying to imagine or paint a picture on lust.

So the image turned out as the colour yellow, and a field of golden corn.

Imagine making love out in a corn field, after it all ripens, with all that golden light surrounding you and being hidden away. Maybe that is eros. I get mixed up....easily.

I love yellow ever since....possible 'enjoinment'...have yet to fulfill this fantasy though.
