Family holidays for 2010 where to go to?
Posted:
9/24/2009 7:59:46 AM
well we went to the Mitis Norida Beach Hotel in Kos last year, Had a great time, It isn't a 5star hotel more like a 3 or 4 star but the food was fantastic, the rooms were clean and welcoming, the beach is nice but not sand, does go quite deep quickly but best of all just go a few feet out with some bread and your feeding the fish out of your hands, really good snorkling as well, loads of different fish to see and feed,we must of had about 200 of different sizes around us, don't worry non of them bite , The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you, Really can say it was a fab holiday, 2 weeks in August was about £750 all inclusive flights transferes etc.
This year I splashed out and took the girls to Mexico we stayed at the RIU Yucatan Beach resort in Playa del Carmen, This is a 5 star 24 hour all inclusive hotel, Fantastic, Everything about this place was amazing, Fantastic rooms with fully stocked fridge and optics , air con, double Queen size beds, tv, shower, iron, etc etc, the food was great and plenty of choice, the pools were clean and warm, the sea was clear blue and warm the beach lined with palm trees and was white sand. plenty of bars around the pools and hotel, we went for 2 weeks in August and it worked out at £930 each, flights, transfer, hotel, travel insurance everything went well, we booked with Thompson and I would say that the reps here were helpfull and the slightest problem (the girls wanted an extra pillow each) was dealt with straight away.
Not sure where were going next year, but I would go back to mexico again as i would with kos, but if I had to choose 1, Mexico would win every time. Oh and before everyone goes on about Mexico and swine flu, We didn't hear or see anyone with it, Which is more than can be said on a recent trip to Newquay lol.
We booked up for Mexico a week before we went, Got the best deal and people we were talking to there paid in excess of £1400 pounds for the very same holiday, so sometimes it is worth leaving to the last minute and grab a bargin if you don't mind which country you go to. just go with the open mind that your going somewhere nice and wherever the best deals are.
Wherever you decide to go, make sure you enjoy yourself and relax in the sun.

Money money money!.....or the lack of it.

Well the credit crunch has hit me, Lost out on an endowment I had, now losing out because of low interest rate, I don't own a house or have a mortgage so that doesn't affect me, but I know others are benefiting with lower intrest rates on mortgages and loans, the weak pound isn't good for my holidays, but I'll ride the storm that were all in. I'm employed in the transport industry as a truck driver, the company was taken over in February by a rival who seems strong and is investing in their future so fingers crossed should be OK there and I'm look forward to a future when I can reap the rewards of high interest rates and a better financial climate. That's if I haven't spent all my money by that time lol,

Bad drivers in the snow

I've drove all week as well, 44 tonnes and a live load(milk sloshing about in the tank i pull)not good when some Muppet in a 4x4 comes tearing past on the snow backwards and then decides to spin again in front of me. Luckily i managed to avoid him! Sure made me stop at the next services to go to the toilet and check my underwear was clean, although when i got to London I realized i needn't of bothered as there were no buses running so there was no chance of getting run over by one.

Oh thanx, will there be space to park my 44 tonne truck? don't worry about finding space for me to crash out as my truck has a bed in the back and also a spare bunk if any female needs a bed as well. Oh and I'll bring some milk as well, 29000 litres should be enough for everyone!

Been a lover of top gear and JC is a great presenter as well I found his comments a little bit in poor taste. I'm a long distance truck driver myself and i can brush the comments off as JC's sense of humour. But I wonder if the families of any of the murdered prostitutes would find it funny. It was a bit insensitive but it wasn't really a personal attack like the Ross/Brand fiasco.

I'll be spending the day working and at night I'll be parked up somewhere in Britain sitting in my cab watching something rubbish on TV no doubt!! I don't get to go home till I finish my 6 day shift , away that week till Boxing day night. Then get 3 days at home, I then get to go back to work again for another 6 days which means I'll be parked up in my truck New years Eve after work and then working first thing New Years Day as well. If anyone would like to join me then feel free to get in touch. I sometimes wonder why I do this job
It does explain why I may be unable to find a Soul mate though!!

well after having my hair shaved for nearly a year I've decided to let it grow again now winter is coming. It hasn't made much difference while it's been shaved, so will let it grow over the winter and look like friar tuck haha.
Oh and ladies, I think it must be a little more than just having a shaved head to attract women , looks must have something to do with it, I'm thinking of getting a wig and having facial reconstruction surgery as well , then all I'd need is to get a personality , win the lottery and I think I might be more of a catch!!

absolutely and definitely a BIG YES!!! I have no problem in giving a women oral sex after cumming in her, I find it strangely erotic in fact, been a big lover of oral sex anyway both giving and receiving I don't mind sampling our juices and kissing afterwards is so damn sexy. Not ashamed to put my hand up and say " wine dine 69" oh and "sit on my face I'll guess your weight, but it might take me a while" mmmmmmmmm

How did you successfully give up smoking?
Posted:
9/5/2008 6:50:52 AM
I decided 1 day on the way to work to give up smoking, my girlfriend had split up with me and i felt crap, so I set myself a target, I decided I was going to have bike lessons, the money I saved from not buying cigarettes i would use to have lessons, I soon not only had passed my test with the money saved but bought a bike and all the gear needed , all paid for in a year without smoking. I'll hold my hands up and say i still have the odd ciggies once in a while, been 3 yrs since Ive given up, had about 30 ciggies so hardly a smoker. One thing i did say is , if i ever started smoking regular again I'd sell all my bike gear and my bike, I have so much fun when I'm out on my bike every time i get the urge to start smoking again I think of how I'd miss my bike.
I wish everyone success in giving up and set yourself goals , It worked for me.

I've always wanted to go and watch Nascar on an oval in America, that's scary racing all those cars so close together at speeds in-excess of 200MPH with no where to go if something goes wrong.

where in the hell did you get them from? for a shop to sell something that out of date is unbelievable, I'd head straight back to them and complain strongly and threaten them with trading standards . Or dare i think they were out of your freezer. which begs the question of when was the last time you defrosted it if youve got food in there 7 yrs old, I'd think about checking all your items in there , if that is the case, before you poison somebody!!
Just out of curiosity, are you sure it's not Feb 2010, sounds more plausible to me.

Man Flu !!!
Posted:

I must be either very lucky , I've had bad colds , where you feel like crap but dose yourself up with lemsip (other brands available) and get on with it, or maybe I'm not a man and I'm actually a women trapped in a mans body(if thats the case I'd be a lesbian ! because men do nothing for me !
)
I don't know if man flu does exist ! but if it's flu they say that " if your looking out of your bedroom window and there's £50 on your lawn you'd not bother going to pick it up because you would'nt have the energy" which always makes me laugh! so people who don't have lawns don''t get flu ?
SO guys come on pull yourself together, yes we feel bad when we get colds , but man flu!! do me a favour . its a bad cold!!

been a truck driver I'm up at all different times every morning, usually between 4 and 6 , its always a struggle to wake up and get out of bed.
On my days off though i always wake up by 6.30 without an alarm, so annoying as I have no reason to be up that early. Ive tried staying up late all sorts, once went to bed at 4.30 only to wake up and fail to go back to sleep at 6.30. I tend to power nap now, grab what i can during the day to make up for what i don't get at night .

So how exactly does this EU thing work
Posted:
4/20/2008 8:21:34 AM
basically I can only tell you what I know about the EU from what I've seen happen in my job as a Truck driver
1) EU decides what will cause the British most problems
2) we get told what we have to do
3) almost all the other Countries flout the rules
4) EU stands behind the UK bends us over and we get shafted, Oh and we have to pay for the privilege.
5) Eu stands back and laughs at us silly British for obeying the laws.
Just wish we got a better deal out of been members of the EU. But until we stand up as a country like the French for instance, If there is something they don't agree with they cause as much trouble as possible until they get their way. You don't see them paying crazy prices for their fuel etc. They must be doing something right!

How would you cheer someone up?
Posted:
4/18/2008 3:01:23 AM
What would you do to cheer someone up, if they are in a mood (bad, sad, frustrated etc.)
I find that often, just smiling and taking the time to listen to the persons problems or taking the time to just pass pleasantries with the person can often cheer people up, not sure if it's my smile that cheers them up or whether they think I'm mad but which ever it is i find it often works.

Sorry to hear of your woes! there are loads of genuine guys out there . It's just a matter of finding us! We're all attracted to different types of people, it seems from my experience that im attracted to women who like the Bad Lad image , but when they find out I'm not a Bad Lad its the end of it. But I'd rather be single than hurt and mistreat people, I will find the right women I'm sure.

Why is it that it's individuals that are expected to make small changes , when there are countries like China and America to name but two, who are far worse polluters then the UK . Surly it would be better for the environment if they could make China 20% more green . Then it wouldn't be such a problem. Before anyone has a go at me for talking rubbish, I'll put my hands up to that . But we in the UK don't have to ban cars from Cities due to smog like other countries in Europe let alone further a field. Oh and before anyone mentions the congestion charges in London , that has very little to do with congestion and very much to do with making money!!!!

I'm terrible at reading them as well if it's any consolation! Been a Cancerian I'm quite shy at first till I get to know someone, It's been said on more than one occasion I'd miss the signals even if they came with enough warnings to keep the health and safety officer happy , I just have to be sure , which takes time and more often than not the time has passed by the time it clicks.

Severe Winds to hit the West and South of the country.....

it's not arrived here in Stoke on Trent yet, its 8 in the morning, it's light rain and slight breeze so far, but hopefully been in the middle of the country we might escape the worst of it.
does it scare me when the weather is bad? sure does, it's not nice driving a truck in bad weather, but like everything else that scares me, i don't worry about it, just get on with it and hope for the best, what happens happens! no amount of worrying over something, will change the outcome if you;ve got no control over the out come! I'm not a control freak either! just one of those people who keep their head down and get on with the job in hand. They've been trying to control mother nature for years with little success ( she's one powerfull women , who often gets her way)

always have to wash my hands after using the toilet, I maybe a truck driver and we are stereo typed as been fat greasy and dirty, but thats not all of us.
I'm very partic about hygiene as i deliver to the food industry, or maybe it's because I've had food poisoning before through somebodies negligence and it's not a pleasant experience.
I'm amazed when using toilets in food factories how many of the workers use the toilets then just walk out with out washing their hands straight back onto the factory floor , it's disgusting .

i just like my job, but I don't want to end up killing somebody through their negligence, Is that a crime? Yes there are bad truck drivers I know that, but too often car drivers cause the accidents involving trucks by cutting them up and leaving them no where to go but plough into the back of cars, 44 tonnes takes a lot longer to stop than your average family car. Every day I see near misses with cars and trucks, MOST, but not all, could be avoided if the car drivers understood what trucks can and can't do!!

Britains roads

i drive on average 2000 miles a week , I'm a tanker driver, delivering milk and cream to dairies around Britain. I love the job and find it a great way of earning a living. I'm lucky in the fact that were not pressured into rushing around chasing delivery times like a lot of other drivers. I have all day to do at most 3 trips but more often than not we will only have one delivery to do a day, so it's relaxed and stress free.
I love riding my motorbike as well on my days off, weather permitting. The only things that spoil the roads are speed traps, pot holes, Sunday drivers, drivers who haven't got a clue how to drive and drivers who over take me in my 44 ton truck and pull in 10 feet in front of me, If I have to brake your brown bread, that big gap i leave between me and the vehicle in front is what is called a safe stopping distance, not so you can pull into it.

I work as a tanker driver, delivering 29000 litres of raw milk to dairies. The longest I've had to wait to tip is 36 hrs at a dairy in Wiltshire, when I got there I was 18th in the queue to tip and the dairy had broken down. By the time they fixed it there was 46 trucks waiting to tip.

Milk Milk Milk - which do you use, if any?
Posted:
10/31/2007 6:41:02 AM
well at last a post that I can give valuable response to.
I'm a truck driver and my job is to deliver "raw milk" ( fresh from the cow or on odd occasions goat) to dairies all over the country!
In an average week I'll travel around 1'700 miles delivering around 290'000 litres of the stuff, To dairies big and small to be processed into bottled milk, butter, cheese, cream, yoghurts or even as ingredients for digestive biscuits.
So the milk you drink can be far from local, as an example, we delivered milk picked up from farms in Cumbria and Scotland and that milk sometimes goes as far as Somerset to be processed.
Also milk is been IMPORTED now as well because farmers are stopping milking because it can in some instances cost more to produce than they are paid for it, it's not just a case of stick a cow in a field and hey presto instant money to the farmer.
My personal favorite is straight from the cow, but I settle for semi skimmed .

for me it has to be the Carling Black Label adverts, the bouncing bombs, the sunbeds, the squirrel, and who can forget the recent one that got banned where the women pours it over the house and the man follows licking it up, classics.

Tips on stopping Smoking
Posted:

I managed to stop by setting myself a goal. I'd always wanted to ride a motorbike on the road, managed many years as a child riding on the fields.
So I put the money I saved by not smoking into bike lessons. I was on between 30 and 40 a day before I stopped, so it was alot of money been saved. Every week I'd have a lesson and really enjoyed it. Every time I wanted a fag I would think of how much I'd miss my bike lesson .
That was January 2006 when I gave up. Yes I've had about 6 fags since but never wanted to start up again. I've said that if I do start smoking again ,I'll sell my motorbike. So its alot to enjoyment to lose.
Since I've given up, the money I've saved has not only funded my lessons and tests, Its also bought all the gear I need for riding, helmet £ 350, leathers £ 450, boots£126 , gloves £55,
oh and of coarse it's bought the motorbike as well £2750. Thats a total of £4620 pounds I would of spent on smoking between 30 and 40 fags a day if I hadn't of stopped.
Yes motorbiking is an expensive hobby , but I'm glad I've spent it on motorbiking rather than smoking.
Good luck with stopping !!!!!!!!

Refusal/acceptance of organ donation due to..

For me it wouldn't matter where or who it came from.
Lets face the facts here , If you need an organ donation its because your organ can't function properly (pretty serious don't you think). So why would anyone worry about whether it came from someone who was good or bad and who are we to judge somebody else anyway.
I'm a organ donor card carrier and as far as I'm concerned they can use whatever they want when I die. How I look at it is you never know what the future holds, one day it might be me who needs a transplant, if no one carries that card then I could die.
I'm no expert here , but even if the organ was from a sex offender or a racist or a different religion etc, its a organ , it doesn't mean that you'd turn into the person who donated it. Although I wonder if you would if it was a brain transplant? after all It's the brain that makes the decisions we make.

How good are you at spotting someone fancies you..

I'm terrible at picking up the signs, I usually think a women is just being nice, when actually she fancies me , but if I think a women is dropping hints and does fancy me, it usually means she is just been nice and doesn't fancy me. I also wish I had the confidence to chat to women in person and ask them out.
