I too am also among those that own it and have yet to read it....I need to get a bible, and dictionary, thesaurus and a big notebook before I start to tackle it....I've skimmed through it, read the first three pages and had an aneurism(JK).One of these days when I've caught up on my reading and can devote more time to it...I'll try it.

I am currently reading "The Teaching of Buddha" released by Bukkyo Dendo Kyokai( (Society for the Promotion of Buddhism) It involves the prince Shakyamuni Buddha's teachings.A bit heavy, but really good.Almost Confuciustic?

I speak this out of my own experiences being a Jehovah's Witness as a youth(which mind you is probably biased on my own dislike for them now)JW's are not your normal sect....more of a cult.

Well, I was brought up a Jehovah's Witness since I was 4...Never thought much about cuz by the time you realize it, its too late, your brainwashed.Then as I got older I figured this is Shite.They take "I am no part of the world just as you should be no part of the world"WAAAAYYYY to seriously...That does immense damage to a kids mental well-being...Once I took my first steps into the world so to speak I realized how much I was missing, and that any deity who would prefer their subjects to lead a life such as that was a sadistic f**k.Life's too short.There is waaayy to much out there to experience and there is not "one true god", it just didn't make sense anymore. Then in my teen angst years I was a Nihilist.Now growing up I've studied theology a fair bit(mostly due to an ex gf)and learned about the spiritual/energy aspect of religion...which christians don't touch base on....

That one is fairly easy...Christians(ie JW, Mormansetc...) Have one thing in common.Fear. They all fear the great deity that is god(or also their own guilty consciousness)because in reality we are all the god/goddess of our own world...They have been taught for generations that if your bad, your going to hell....So that said they think that all they're wrongs will be forgiven by god if they show people "the truth" and convert them to the"One True God".Buddhists don't think that there is "One True God"they teach be the best person you can to reach enlightment, the next step in your soul/spirits path.Its a goal not a bribe.They are more open minded to a person as an energy...not just a ticket to heaven.

Like to say this...I can think of three religions that have similar stories...Christianity-the whole Jesus on a cross thing...Jehovah's Witnessess-not a cross but a stake,cuz crosses are a symbol of idolism...Buddhism-Buddha sat under a tree for a week.Norse mythology-Odin hung upside down from a tree in order to achieve the runstones...All guys with wood...(no pun intended...ok I lied)They mostly have the same story/moral...Jesus said"I am no part of the world just as you should be yadayada.."Buddha, being born into royalty said screw this...I'm becoming a bum...And Odin was just looking for a path to enlightenment the same as the others...

I was raised a JW and that question bugged the hell out of me most my life...Then I came to my senses and studied theology on my own. I've come to the conclusion that the majority of religions have the same practices, each one changed a bit to suit their cults need....The whole fact of god staying low and letting satan do his thing because he figured he'd show a weakness was BS to me....the saying"god has a reason and a purpose for everything...ya right...explain the apendix then!!!the platypus!??My concept of right and wrong is " An harm ye none, do what ye will."

Well, first the term "Pagan" refers to any religion that believes in not on god, but a variety of gods/goddessess; or "Bear witness to false idols" representing their deity..IE: Wiccan, Islams, Shinto, etc...Wiccans and Druids believe that there is an entity, male and female whose energy resides in every living thing...ie trees, water, earth...etc.The two main god/goddess energies are the moon/female, and the sun/male.The term "the horned one"is a male representative which Christians misinterpret as being the devil....but we don't believe in either devil nor god... And the Tuatha De Dannaan (TOO-ATHA JE JEN-ANN)are the supposed first "Fae" in Ireland circa..1000BC. Fae comes from the latin word for fate suggestion that "faeries" are the personifications of destiny "faerie" meaning the land of fate...After their conquest from the Milesians were subject to live underground...But this doesn't really have much to do with magick....
