Premiership Football Players?Who's been the Best !!!
Posted: 1/20/2013 6:50:34 PM
No offense, the team henry was in with France, other players could have done that, and it was down to the brilliance of zidane more than henry. Henry only succeeded at barca, because of the side barca had, barca would have won that treble without henry. France won the world cup in 1998, henry was nowhere near the player he was a few years later. Yes he was a key player for barca in 2009, but that was it. What he did with arsenal was brilliant, but it was not great, and that is where he is judged. But to try and justify your view, he won the lot, he was a squad player for France in 98 and at most he was ok in euro 2000, but that french side was built around zidane who had some great players back then. He was never part of a dominating arsenal side, who were always in united's shadows. For a side arsenal had, they should have won a CL atleast

Cristiano Ronaldo where is he off to next?
Posted: 1/17/2013 3:02:14 PM
I said, Madrid are lacking a number 10, not saying who are better than ronaldo. And I disagree, everyone likes to bash Rooney one way or another, last season he scored 30 plus goals, but he is a big game player, like the man city game for instance. I think fergie would love to see ronaldo lineup along side rooney RVP and Hernandez, as a combination of those 4 players could blitz any side apart from barca in europe, and that is something that excites fergie, if they can negotiate a right price

the only reason why arsenal won the league in 2004, was a combination of bad buys from fergie, and losing Ferdinand to suspension, arsenal had a really good side back then. Difference between the 2 sides of united in 2006-09. and arsenal 2004. united were a tactically more tougher outfit, also that backline united had of VDS brown ferdinand vidic evra was one of the toughest back 5's in PL history

Cristiano Ronaldo where is he off to next?

It is all about adapting, problem Real have is? they do not have a world class number 10 striker, at united they have 2 world class numbers 10's in rooney and RVP, but RVP is also a great goalscorer who plays like a number 9 is well, adding hernandez who gives them a plan B.

At city they have aguero and tevez, while barca have the 4 amigo's in xavi iniesta cesc and messi, so they always are a step ahead of the rest, despite their mediocre GK and defense, along with a hread bear attack if they lost messi to injury

Madrid lack a number 10, so they do rely heavily on ronaldo for the cutting edge, despite they have benzema and co.

The beckham law is a interesting concept, because its stripped Barca and especially Madrid if their financial power. Ronaldo I do expect will leave, either summer 2013, or summer 2014.

What shocked me was? Toure Rooney and RVP are on more money than ronaldo, which did surprise me. I do think united are keeping a close eye on the situation, and with ronaldo favoring a move to OT, his departure to OT is 50/50. But if ronaldo is excited for a new challenge, PSG could interest him. But I do think its more than money, the reason why Ronaldo is unhappy, and I do think Madrid have made a right pigs ear of the whole siuation, where they should have made sure they had the coins to renew his contract

Yea, I am not shocked pep went there, as there is very few jobs about that suits his needs. City, chelsea are not the right clubs for him, united job is unavailable for a few years, and too much work is needed at arsenal and liverpool who are short of cash. So for me, bayern is the perfect club for him. And international football is not his thing

I think ronaldo is off, if he refuses to sign a new contract. As Madrid will want a good eun on the money hey spent on him, if it is the right price, I see him going to united, if not it is PSG

its not about liking the player, its about achievement, like I said, henry did it on domestic front, but failed awfully in Europe, it was not until he went to barca he did achieve European success. While ronaldo not only matched the heights henry achieved, but went beyond and cleaned house. I rate a player on achievements and the impact on different levels, with the team henry had behind him, henry should have done better. If I was being fair, henry did face competition from a better side like the united side of 2003, and chelsea in 2005, so I will give him some leeway there

We all know now about the relationship between the Real Madrid board, and Ronaldo. Looks like he will not renew his contract, supposed to be unhappy about the where the club has gone. Now the question is? where is he off to next? Have real Madrid really droopped the ball with the situation? taking to long with contract negotiantions, and especially backing iker casillas for world player of the year, instead of Ronaldo

FCB_1983 - totally disagree, henry was great, but when it came to the CL, he failed. While united and ronaldo went on to win the PL and CL double, lets not forget not only did ronaldo help united win back to back titles that henry never did, they won a hatrick of titles, and the smaller trophy's ronaldo and co picked up, like the league cup and the world club cup.

For world prestige, ronaldo, for what was done in PL history, and the standards set for that long, scholes and giggs, it is hard to say. I would go with ronaldo, he broke the 4th wall in the PL, challenged the football snobbery that goes on with the voting, and became world footballer of the year, ronaldo was one of the driven forces behind the CL success and PL success, and was part of a truly great united side that cleaned house between 2006-09. It is one of the the united players I would vote for, because of the performances they have given since 1993

Are they overrated ?
Posted: 1/10/2013 6:02:17 AM
Cena is everything that is wrong with the company today, average in the ring, poor mic skills, and his gimmick has got so boring, half the crowd cannot stand him.

HHH always used being in the boss's family, to get higher than he actually should have been. Even though he was part of the most successful era of the company's history between 97-01, it got worse when he was in the ruthless aggression era in 2002, not putting over guys like Kane, RVD, and Booker T and just destroyed them, his whole power-trip was out of control between 2002, to 2004. His buriel of CM punk in 2011 was a complete outrage, and this ruined perhaps one of the biggest moments since the attitude era, when punk dropped the pipe bomb, HHH could have helped make punk the biggest star since stone cold, but no it was classic HHH on his own ego trip.

So no, I am not HHH's biggest fans, as he has done way too much shit for his own ends, especially between 2002 to 2004

I am shocked, united have kept 2 clean sheets in a row, that united attack is just so damn devastating, despite the fact giggs played today, it does help scholes and giggs are playing less and less. Looking good for united, RVP what a signing, liverpool gonna be a tricky one

when PPL say go support your local club, some forget even those local clubs, not all fans will go to every game, for 2 reasons

1 not everyone has the time to go to every game

2 money, times are tough, and not everyone has the cash.

So from fans who support teams miles away, or close, not everyone goes to games all the time, for the 2 reasons I already gave

dwayne88 - the height of the Austin era, look at the star power of that era, it does not compare with anything we got post attitude era, and yes there was shit like that, but go look at the shit going on in the ruthless aggression era between 2002-2005. PPL always look at the flaws, but go look at the importance of the belts, the last time we had a great IC, tag team, european and even at times a great hardcore title division, accept for the hardcore 24/7

I am really delighted for Murray, he would have given up any achievement in his tennis career for a olympic gold medal in his own country, on centre court. It refocus's Murray's belief he can win a grand-slam.

As for Bolt, they guy is terrifying, he blew the competition away with that performance, his acceleration over 100M, he is untouchable. And retaining the Gold, shows he is a phenom

yea I agree, impact is far superior to the WWE, impact reminds me of the old days of WWE perhaps post attitude era, and more of the ruthless aggression era. They do not over expose on social media, so kayfabe is pretty good with TNA, as they take for more risks than WWE could ever dream of doing these days, vince and his family I have always said this, are taking the piss out of the fans. If Stephanie thinks this is the best direction to take the company in, especially the writers she has brought in, then that shows how bad they have gotten. Just because she is the boss's daughter, does not she should got a high position in the company. Look at bill gates, does he allow any of his family work for microsoft? no, and he is a billionaire. While Vince is still a millionaire

THEKidWicked - he is the most marketable star on WWE, but to get the hogan treatment when he is not making the box office cash makes it beyond a joke. My problem with cena is? he is average on the mic these days, he is a shadow echo of his former self of his 2003 days, quiet average in the ring, I do not think he is that popular, WWE do love to use spin to make him look like this popular star when PPL over 12 cannot stand the guy. But with the success he has had over the years, its about time he put other guys over and made them look like stars. If CM punk loses to cena at summerslam, all this hard work Punk has had since last year, and the build WWE gave him would have been for nothing. But the sad fact that cena has main event nearly every PPV since february is a sad state of affairs

Its because of the idea of how much money he makes, but still he should not be getting the hogan treatment, hogan was the box office, everyone knew who hogan was, he was in films, in TV commercials, doing tons of TV appearances, he was even in part 3 of the rocky movie, he was the shit. And he was making money, allot of it. Cena is nowhere near of the levels of hogan. WWE will make PPL believe he is what everyone wants to see, that he is that big of a draw by using spin. But it is further from the truth, he cannot get a crowd going like hogan could, and hogan was popular with a whole range of fans, 7 8 10 15 26 year old's. When we add the watered down product, poor writing staff, that stephanie thinks is the way forward for the company. Until the McMahon family are bought out, we will get this vanilla crap. I think Shane is needed badly, to show his father direction

WhyIsEverythingITypeTaken - the problem with WWE these days is? poor writing, to many restrictions, and continue to book cena in the main event. I only got back into wrestling last year because of punk's scripted pipe bomb, and of course masked kane return, even though his return has had a mixed bag. But overall its so frustrating seeing the direction WWE has gone down, since 2006

Spain were fantastic, full credit, the way spain have performed has of late, I thought italy could win, but WOW did spain prove me wrong. Italy had a good period in the first half, but after that, they blew italy away, especially second half when it was 11 vs 11.

frankster_p - I maybe in the minority that are not buying the Spanish and barca's BS, others can kiss their backsides but I am not. I find both sides of barca and spain extremely boring to watch its actually painful to watch, yes I love sides playing good passing football, but they take the sting right out of the game to death, and pass their way to victory. It may not be defensive football, but its still boring to watch, when there is no variety to it, other than pass pass pass

yea the nutcase bolleteli scored both goals, he blows hot and cold for me, and he has had way to many off days. Iitaly look good. They can match spain stroke for stroke in the passing game. and the Italian midfield I think can match the Spanish, but italy have runners off the ball which could be a huge help. Spain found it a problem against portugal, with the likes of ronaldo and nani, who offered something different for portugal, which spain did not get this, where all their players want to do, is pass pass and pass

The big problem with england is? their tactics, their inability to keep the ball. Time and time again they let italy have the ball, and they just kept sitting back. Pirlo run that show, he was sensational. Shame carrick decided to not to come to the euro's, seeing gerrard played out of position was a crime in itself. It should have been gerrard playing off either carrol or rooney

If I was a billionaire, and I mean such a ruch billionaire it blows bill gates fortune away, I would buy man united, put a stake back into the supporters trust, make it like barcelona a fans owned club. Put a contract in place for life where it could not be broken after I am gone. And give plenty of money to the manager, but I would not overspend where it could make the club a club for money grabbers, and I would extend old trafford to 100,000.

this will be a very interesting project he takes on. The smart thing he did with apoclypto it was in a foreign language, if they were speaking in english it would have been cheesy as hell. Gibson's films are very similar that they have allot of torture in them, so I expect the same with his next film

I was a huge wrestling during the early 90s, got back into it in 97 all the way up to 2003. The attitude era defiantly rekindled my love for wrestling, with guys like stone cold undertaker masked kane, now it just does not have that edge or magic that it once had during the late 90s
