PRE-NUP only,,, sorry ladies.... I have learned the hard way.....

Love isn't money, get it?

It's not about what y0u can get, or what status he can give you. If you have not figured that out, you'll never be happy...

I've not maried again in 15 years. Guess that's really bad, huh?

I just can't do it, sacrifice my soul to someone. Give up my bathrooms, or closet space for some woman harping at me about my habits, and lifestyle.

Maybe if one of them were equal minded, that'd be different. But I have not found one that didn't want to take over everything.

I lost 1/2 my SS, 1/2 my retirement, 1/3 my income, and my house. Biatch had it all figured out.

NEVER EVER AGAIN!

The Dodge Dart
Posted: 9/24/2008 8:51:58 PM
This thread won't die, just like the old slant six. Yeah I had a Dart, a 71. Bought it from an old man for $1,100.00 back in 1994. It was his wife's car, and she had passed away. It had clothes pins on he fuel line, and spark enhancers on the plug wires. He even had a kill switch in the ash tray. It was gold with a white interior, and a white vinyl top. It also had one of the first 8 track FM radio set ups. I had a center dash speaker, and another located in the back dash.

The damn car ran like a sewing machine, in all kinds of weather. I eventually sold it a few years later, for 3 times what I paid.

Ya know,,, there wasn't a week that went by that I wasn't asked to sell it.

Chrysler should go retro, and make a few more solid 25 MPG slant six darts. They'd do well making a solid car again,,, minus the Hemi,,,,,

No your friend is a player, and this guy is a sap. You did right, she, and he did wrong. So what if he's hurt, it was going happen sooner or later. Now he's free to find someone who will respect him, and your friend, or X friend will just have to grow up.

When a woman tells you what you can and can't do...

Angela,

Grow up, cause if you smother him, and demand him around like this, you will have another badly ending relationship. Chill woman! Just Let it happen.

You sound like an immature, childish, woman who doesn't know how to have a good relationship. You still think like a sophomore in high school too.

Is it possible that you have the wrong impression all together? Maybe he's just being friendly. Kinda a kinship between workers who work solo maybe?

Just cause a man or woman is married doesn't mean they have to stop being personable.

Why did they think I would be impressed?
Posted: 9/12/2008 4:08:00 PM
May I?

Maybe you just thought they were hitting on you. Did they make passes? Come right out and purposly proposition you? You didn't give us any information, only that you and they gamble, and you assumed they were all HOT for you.

That's what's wrong with some women. They think everybody (all men) are out to pick then up. But hey, maybe you crapped on Mr. Charming that night, turned him off cause of your attitude, and he didn't want to deal with a woman and her attitude?

I have seen my upper lip 3 times since I was 15. My kids, co-workers, family, and friends say they do not recognize me, and that I should grow it back, and always do.

Once when my youngest daughter was 3, I came out of the bathroom all clean shaven, and she cried cause this strange man came and picked her up.

It's like a woman's hair color, or the way they wear their hair.

Will He Leave His wife
Posted: 9/7/2008 4:58:05 AM
It seems there's a slight confusion of gender in this forum. Maybe the forum title should be, "It used to be Ask A Guy, but it's now For Women Too "

Blah, blah, blah,,,, Who really cares who you date? If you choose to be the other woman, so be it! But I dare you to confront his wife, call her and fess up. Tell her you are boinking her husband, why not? It's obvious you have no conscious, or values.
It's truly all your decision, don't you think? But you are gonna keep dating him aren't ya? Home Wrecker!

I think I now understand why you are divorced.
Posted: 9/5/2008 3:31:09 PM
That scenario fits 90% of us, although we don’t like to admit it. If you are divorced, it’s for a reason. Nobody’s perfect, and I’d say 70% of the women I have dated, all start off wonderful, then change as time passes, or they open up a bit.

It’s a spiral of anger that comes out to someone who will listen. Try to avoid it, and you end up making referrals about the X anyway. It’s the time, the history, and the commitment you made of yourself that troubles you. It’s easy to blame the X, isn’t it? But in reality, we need to move ahead in order to have that great relationship. Fix U first, then start looking. War stories are just that, but they have deep emotional ties.

Start by eating better foods. Get some protiens, natural sugar fruits, fiberous foods, fish, tuna, and walk 20 min to 30 min a day. Keep busy, start new hobby, call old friends, send emails, get your hair cut, buy a new dress, just do you things.

Shows that he or she doesn't really care about you. They are stuck! They like the drama, and will not change. It's an addiction with some people. They got so hurt, they can't move on. Truely sad.

Gray hair is sexy! Some women just look so HOT with a little gray, or a lot of gray. I don't care what anyone says, I think it's better that dying it some unnatural color. Being a good shape helps to.

A while ago I saw a woman with shoulder length grey hair, OMG!

At Will Employment
Posted: 8/30/2008 7:40:09 AM
Explain the details to me/us.

Making a protest based upon a few sentences from a company rulebook on termination is difficult to determine.

Elaborate on the circumstances leading up to the termination.

Was this a layoff? Was there a breach of ethics, or absenteeism? Was there a mandate of production, and or quality? Could you/did you perform the job successfully? Were there any reports like quarterly performance reviews, or annual reviews you could refer to for better proving your case?

Give us the details of their reason for your termination, and then we can fairly judge the offence.

Basically, if they fired you, they diligently maintained records for their benefit.

How big is it?
Posted: 8/28/2008 8:14:01 PM
I shouldn't, I really shouldn't, but this one requires some attention.
Yes it was callous and quite immature of you. Being all of 27, you will learn in the years to come, (maybe) that holding your tongue in certain situations is best for all. Being that he's a F-Buddy, and you use him just for sex, I imagine he could care less of your opinions, or verbal acuities. He's just there for the fun of it. Was it wrong? Not if he doesn't care. The question should have been worded in a fashion that flattered him, instead of putting him on the spot. If I were he, (God forbid, and for approximate reference in relation to answering your question) I would have said, " baby, it varies in size depending on my mood, and if you wish, we can make it a task, and measure your depth right after we measure my length."

Would that suffice?

why can't I find a job?
Posted: 8/28/2008 2:33:10 PM
Because you are not trying hard enough.

#1 Get your resume out to as many companies, and people as you can. There are tons of free websites online. First off, do you have a resume? Try to make 100 contacts a day either by phone, email, letters, word of mouth. It's a numbers game and if you are dilligent about your search, you will find that job.

#2 Research the local area around you. Yellow pages, want ads, help wanted, news papers, craigslist, hot jobs.com, trucks on the hiway, signs, even the local library. Yes the library has thousands of businesses in the reference section listing addresses, phone, and individuals who are important enough to spend time contacting. You have got to get around the HR idiots. They are usually recent college graduates, and have no clue what they are doing.

#3 Make getting a job your #1 priority. Get up early and start calling companies. If you call on any company enough, they will eventually know your name and that you are serious.

#4 Be persistent. Like another poster said, " You are 23, and no experience" It's a persuasion game, and you have to be in front of someone for them to see who you are.

In my opinion, people who can't find a job, don't really want one. You may have to start at the bottom. So what?

Good luck

Why on earth would you want to put more holes in your head? It's a fad, like tattoos that most people will regret down the road. Go ahead, get a few more holes, maybe a few in your eye brows, lips, and a chain connecting all of them. That's real sexy..

I'd say you are a loose cannon. First off, a clean break is just that. There's no going back and forth if you are serious about it. I see you as selfish, and playing for the satisfaction of hurting the EX.

Here's a question for you. Put yourself in in "New Guys" position. Would you tollerate this?

Whoa,,,,,, you are going way too fast...

It's not all about you. What you do affects the whole situation.

Dating a married man is just STUPID. I don't care if he is geting divorced, there's his wife, and his 4 year old to consider. I would stay away just because you are getting into a mess. Knowing human emotions, he's all messed up, and will be going through a two year minimum struggle of anger, fear, lawyers fees, and a whole bunch of crap that goes with a divorce. His wife is obviously bitter, and what's that doing to the kid? Your friends set you up with this guy, what great friends they are. Project forward two years, say you are with him. His X is gonna be biatch to you and make it extremely difficult. Do you really want this?

You should have known not to get involved with a married man. C'mon,,, be smart here and find somene who's not.

The media has played this down, and for now all I/we hear is that Georgia has been invaded, I do not know why, do you? Was a tyrannical dictator oppressing people in Georgia? Were thousands dying? Ethnic cleansing going on? Did Russia jump in as a big brother? I do not think so…

Just why did Russia invade? Historically Russia has always been a threat. It's my opinion that Russia in on the rise.

What Do You Think--Should This House Be Cleansed?
Posted: 8/21/2008 1:59:31 PM
I have never let the idea of “spirits” from beyond bother me. These shows and fanatical ghost chasers, its all BS. As far as the house cleansing, sure…

Paint the walls, side the outside, change the carpets, do some landscaping, remodel it. Bad vibes and speak of such is psychosomatic.

In time it’ll be just a house.

It used to be that armatures played in the Olympics. The 1980 hockey team for example. Now we have big millionaires taking gold, the William’s sisters, and Kobe Bryant for example. Other countries started this practice years ago, but should this be allowed? Should a professional athlete be allowed to compete? Is it fair?

Foreclosure
Posted: 8/17/2008 5:02:17 AM
That's sad, really sad that he's loosing his house. If he had custody of his kids, momma would pay him child support. Jobs are hard to keep when the price of oil keeps going up. My business has slowed so much that I now work for someone else. Chrysler is close to me also. They have shut their doors on one line, and work only one shift at the other plant. Thousands of businesses that feed automakers are closing too. Most people do not spend money on things they don't need in a recession, therefore they just get the necessities, and hold off on big purchases. Also a few years ago folks bought more house than they could afford, mortgaged too much, and the banks let them. They bought cars and trucks that got bad mileage too.

I know a lady who has a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer. She owes 19 grand. When she tried to trade it for a Honda, they would only give her 12 in trade. Yes it's sad...

What makes men so mean and bitter after break up?
Posted: 8/16/2008 6:29:35 PM
It's turning hurt to anger. It's easier for some men to get mad, than feel pain. Plus it's a defense mechanism to protect themselves. In reality they hurt like you do, but they've got to be like John Wayne. Time will tell them it's OK to move on, and the anger will subside.

Who cares what you mom does or says? Sounds to me like you still have a 30-mile umbilical cord problem. You exude a low self-esteem that comes from a controlling mother. Why does she matter, and why does her anything affect you?

It’s time to put some serious time and space between you and your mother. Cut the cord and live your own life.

Pride of ownership warrants calling a vehicle by personal noun. Also when 's runnin good, that's your baby, when she ain't workin, she's a biatch. C'mon Baby, just another mile to the gas station, or C'mon Ol'Girl just last me a few more years.

What else do guys spend money on if it ain't a woman? Cars, Bikes, Boats, Trucks, Toys. You tend to treat a woman with a softer approach. If you name a car, truck, bike, anything a female's name, you tend to treat it nicer.

reasons you have ended a relationship with someone

#1 Carla sweet breath, that was her nick name. Gorgeous woman, forever a bad odor eminating from her mouth. Not halitosis, just a really bad, nast natural body emission. Poor girl, I couldn't get past it.

#2 Too jealous. Would call me every two hours. Show up at my place unannounced, and went through all my personal stuff every time she could. She somehow got my password to my yahoo account. I found out when I tried to log on and it said, " You are already logged". I ended it. I couldn't get past it.

Tips for letting go . . . .
Posted: 8/11/2008 4:42:41 PM
The list idea is a good one but, it doesn't help you get over the fact that you are now single, and possibly a little sad. This just takes time for you to get over. There's no real way of finding your way until you've gone through a period of feeling sad.

Get together with friends you didn't see so much while you were with her. Head out a little more. Get busy with those chores you've been putting off, and live a little.
I have never gone through a break up where I didn't feel some relief from the demands of the woman.

My familial responsibility is most prevalent. But the financial demand/need to venture off and grab the cash while it's good is very tempting. Sacrifices seem to always be the deciding factor. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Today I am leaning towards the position 2200 miles away. Tomorrow, who knows? I have a few days to ponder.

Thanks to all who have written valuable replies. I appreciate them.

I need to decide in the next few days. I have been in Everett Wa. before. It's a pretty place if you can live with the rain, and the cost of living is higher than where I live now. I think you nailed it too. Be wise and pack away some money. I'm leaning towards this one.

An employment dilemma
Posted: 8/10/2008 3:09:22 PM
I have a dilemma of sorts pertaining to employment. I have been offered three jobs in the last week. I’m I am an ME in the aviation industry, 18 years and some solid experience. The following all occurred in the last week. I was self-employed for 6 years and due to the slow economy, decided to put it on hold, and explore other avenues.

#1 I have been offered a position in Everett Washington as a contract engineer. It’s approximately 2200 miles away. Pay would be great, and I have contracted here before. Sure it’s a long way away, but the money is a powerful draw. Plus I love to travel. My kids are 21 and 16. 21 year old is stable. Is very mature for her age, and I do not worry about her. The 16 year old and I talked this weekend and I stated my dilemma. She is very independent, and I would miss her. I could fly her up to Washington from time to time, and I think she’d like that. Plus in the summer, or spring break I’d invite her to also. This position will not be long term, maybe 2 years or so.

#2 I interviewed and am waiting for their offer (to come tomorrow) at a smaller company where I am at locally. The company is a supplier of parts for the aviation industry. I met with the owner and am not sure I will see eye to eye with this guy. We may butt heads on a few issues, and I do not get a 100% warm fuzzy about the place. The first man I interviewed with seemed a little apprehensive about the atmosphere there. Maybe I'm just feeling a little pressured. He 's really pushing me to say, (I'll accept) but I am waiting their offer of $ per year, and benefits.

#3 I am now working for a pretty good company here in town. The pay is all right, not what I have been making, but yeah, I could stay. I just started this job last week.

Defining who you want to be often comes from necessity. Money is the driver for most if not all of us in this world. Finding a job you like, isn't always what you get. The thing is, start by working somewhere, even if you do not like the place. Get ideas from who is there and see if you admire what they do. Often people just fall into a career by chance. They are influenced by someone who is great at it, whatever it is.

If you want to do something incedible, you have to start somewhere. You are young, so there are many options. But I'd say making relevance towards a movie like the matrix, is a false dream.

One more thing.... Always, always insist you are right in your career choice. Never let anyone tell you that you are wrong if you truely believe in what you do.

Gossip

People who gossip, lack the ability to grow, or won't grow. They are safe in their little circle, and like being seen as the gossip guru. It's a small minded person who will spread rumors. They need to state false information in an attempt to lift themselves up. Ignore it. It will all blow over and the originator of said gossip or will be well known as liar.

Is getting along with your ex a turn off to a new guy ?

^^^^^ I Agree^^^^^

The situation is the driver here. I'd say that most EX's create a bad vibe for "new" significant other. It's the negetivity and sour grapes from someone that creates the turn off. 90% of the women I have dated dwell on the commuication, and having to meet regularly with their X. If they speak of him or her badly, it makes you wonder about their character, and what's the future gonna be.

Advice On Writing:

Just do it.

Write whenever you have the urge. When you get a thaught, just note it. Then compile all your ideas in a jumbled sylibus. Sort through them looking for ideas that you think are worthy. Then by priority, funnel them down.

It's a creative endeavor with me. I never know if,,, what I think is valid will show promise. You get stuck too. Second guessing yourself with what sounds better.

It'll take time. Lots of time and many, many drafts before you feel it's complete.

Small Problem?????

I think I saw this on Springer. It ends with your friend, the cheater, and his wife throwing insults around. Then the wife and the mistress duke it out. Ding Ding!

Your friend is a wimp, and she's totally so screwed up. The guy is a looser, what a schmuck! Leave them be. They deserve each other. I just hope someone uses birth control. Too many kids by floozy women and guys that will F$#&k anything.

Best of luck...

The Dodge Dart
Posted: 8/3/2008 7:55:45 PM
Had a 71 Dart. Bought it off an old man. It was his wife's car and immaculate. Gold with a white top, and white vinyl interior. A Peach! Had guys stopping me and asking if I'd sell it. I venetually did for $4,500. I paid $12,00.

Never failed to start, get solid 26 MPG anywhere, and was a solid little car. The 225 slant six was heavy, and originally intended to be a deisel block. Full of torque and very consistent. Couldn't kill it. Maybe Chrysler should go retro, and build a few more of them????
