~ ROCKING NEW YEARS EVE PARTY HOLIDAY INN SOUTH LAKELAND ~

I went to a Lakeland New Years eve party once upon a time and it was great fun. I am going to try to convince my party buddy to partake in this with me. It would be very cool to see some of my lakeland fishie friends once again. Lakeland fish are very good people. Happy Turkey day everyone. May your blessings be bountiful tomorrow and every day.

I found myself at Jason's after another POF party in September. This is a very cool bar. I loved all the neon and illuminated tables. Even the rest rooms are unique. Its rather trendy and a nice surprise to find in Sanford. This is a great place for a POF party . I would go if I didnt have to be up so early for work the next day. Have a great time everyone.

Speaking of mistletoe.. I do believe I have a few sprigs ready to bear witness to lots of holiday smooches. Everyone needs to get out there and spread the word about this fantastic party venue. Its the perfect place to celebrate the holidays season. Why they even have a blazing fireplace. We all know how romantic it is to cuddle in front of one of those. I am going to be Santas helper and let all those deserving singles out there know that this is the party to attend. So come out and unwrap some holiday magic , who knows you may find the gift of love.

Made Myself A Snowball
I made myself a snowball,
As perfect as could be,
I thought I'd keep it as a pet,
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas,
And a pillow for its head,
Then last night it ran away,
But first - it wet the bed!
(Poet - Shel Silverstein)
I needed an excuse to post one of my favorite Shel Silverstein poem.. so why not at the Green Parrot party thread. After all Anything goes at the Green Parrot. I look foward to another night of merriment.

Tis the season to be partying fishie style.. This party will be a momentous occassion for me .. I recently found the little girl who was the flower girl at my wedding through another site. She is of course all grown up and bartending at the why not. I am excited about seeing my former Kindergarten student . So not only will I get to deck the halls with my fish friends , but will be having a happy reunion with someone dear to me. I shall try to be " holiday elegant" ( I love an excuse to shop)

I had so much fun at the last one I didnt want to leave. The place was buzzing with happy feedback about the new venue. I believe you have a mega hit on your hands. There were very happy fish in the pond and from the look of things some fish may have found one another. This is a perfect place for a holiday party too , we must not forget the mistletoe for this one. I am ready to kiss and be kissed, after all this is the season where its better to give then to recieve.

Brenda you and Joan out did your self." My way "lived up to the hype and then some. It was simply beautiful and what a friendly group of fish. You do such a great job of making everyone feel welcome. The ice breaker was fun and everyone got into the spirit of all. Im not sure you noticed but behind the bar there was a lake with a sign that said " no fishing" I think after last night they may have to take that down, LOL. I cant wait to go back there for the next one.

Brenda it looks like a fabulous place to hold a party and I am a huge fan of the high spirited Irish . If we all show up for happy hour we will all be "High Spirited" by time this party winds down. I am game though.. any designated drivers out there who want to volunteer your services? I am really enjoying this wonderful POF party season we are having. No doubt the cooler weather contributes to party fever. Once again thank you Brenda for all your hard work and the goodness of your heart for doing this for all of us. Brenda this place sounds like a POF party made in heaven. Classy , elegant and the opportunity to meet great people without having to go home with that lovely lingering aroma of cigarettes in your hair and clothing. I think I am going to have to attend without my cohort and partner in crime this evening . Though seeing some familar faces will make it less daunting. I MUST try to make it for the ice breakers this time. They are always cool and fun wiatching everyone scurrying about breaking the rules.. lol. Now comes the real challenge.. what to wear. Im off to ponder my decision.
Till later fishies and fishettes.

I have been browsing all the faces that have signed up and I must say, what an awesome group of people. There are many men that are not at all hard on the eyes. I have indeed signed up but unfortunately I will only be able to participate in people watching. My wicked evil knees have been terribly unkind to me .Walking currently is a challenge , climbing stairs impossible and dancing could wipe me out. I am a great people watcher and no doubt you will all be entertaining. Be sure to wave on your way to the dance floor.

Why do folks come along and try to put " a fly in the ointment " so to speak. Band or no band, when you fill a room with awesome fun loving people,we somehow manage to make beautiful music together. I am looking foward to the distinct pleasure of sharing my " blue-ti-ful" evening with my fellow fishies.
This could be the official theme song of the evening.
Blue (Da Ba De) lyrics
yo listen up here's a story
about a little guy that lives in a blue world
and all day and all night and everything he sees
is just blue like him inside and outside
blue his house with a blue little window
and a blue corvette
and everything is blue for him and hisself
and everybody around
cos he ain't got nobody to listen...
i'm blue, da ba dee, da ba die...
i have a blue house with a blue window.
blue is the colour of all that i wear.
blue are the streets and all the trees are too.
i have a girlfriend and she is so blue.
blue are the people here that walk around,
blue like my corvette, it's standing outside.
blue are the words i say and what i think.
blue are the feelings that live inside me.
i'm blue da ba dee da ba die...
i have a blue house with a blue window.
blue is the colour of all that i wear.
blue are the streets and all the trees are too.
i have a girlfriend and she is so blue.
blue are the people here that walk around,
blue like my corvette, it's standing outside.
blue are the words i say and what i think.
blue are the feelings that live inside me.
i'm blue, da ba dee, da ba die...
inside and outside blue his house
with the blue little window and blue corvette
and everything is blue for him and hisself
and everybody around cause he aint got
nobody to listen...
i'm blue, da ba dee da ba die...
I'm blue, da ba dee da ba die...

We could play Kiss or Dare
Which is "Truth or Dare" with a twist. One person chooses another to a "dare". If the person completes the dare, they move on by choosing the next person to "dare". If the person does not complete the dare, they must kiss the person who dared them.
Or get a couple of decks of cards, if you get hearts and find your match you must kiss that person. All other matching pairs will all be required to hug.. hugs are the next best thing, of course.
How about a kids wading pool filled with fish. Catch a fish with a magnetic fishing pole , then go on a expedition to find your match . when you do pucker up those fishie lips and enjoy.
Everyone remember those breath mints of course.

The kissing booth was great fun and it was fun luring some lips into the booth. I should bring a real fishing pole and see how many men I can catch by the seat of their pants. I would of course be willing to administer some first aid for the injuries that could possibly cause. The party at wolfys was where I met Dynamite Kisser (DK) for the first time. All the ladies were vying for his attention.
I cant wait to see you Brenda , its been too long.

Mid Summer Night Party at Route 46 (in the Garage) in Sanford 8/8/09 7:30 pm - 2:00 am
Posted:
8/7/2009 1:44:36 PM
She walked into the bar, with a name tag on her chest
Said to the barman, "Just give me your very very best"
I'll have a Scotch, a Rum, a double shot and a glass of wine.
I need something a fish can drink, I must be my most devine.
The barman put the drinks upon the bar and kinda looked dismayed
She drank them down in record speed, while the guitarist played
She watched in fascination as other fishies placed their orders
She gave a happy flirty smile and tipped the barman with a quarter.
Dancers are now dancing and the room is packed like fine sardines
She sees someone hot across the bar and requests a tall Jim Beam.
Now full of liquid courage she plots a course of deliberate action
She dances through the massive crowd to music by Mike Jackson.
Now you all have heard some fish stories, but very few can compare
To the tale of this intoxicated woman fishing without her under wear
If you want to know the conclusion, does she reel in her fishie man
Just drive straight down to Sanford and ask me , I will answer if I can.

greetings to all... I can attest to the fact that what Jacqui says is 100 percent true. She is an incredible host and goes above and beyond with every party I have been privledged to attend. The parties in Deland are very popular. They are edgy and fun and its a huge advantage to be able to stay at the hotel and not risk driving after a bit too much partying. If you have not had the chance to attend a POF party before this is a great place to take the plunge. You will be begging for more. I am going to try my best to treat myself to another spectacular Deland party.. if I can work out a few obstacles.. I must return to the place I experiencd bed spins for the first time.

Can I really be this old?
Posted:
7/17/2009 9:32:00 PM
My mind has been boggled,, is it possible that fourty years have gone by since Man took those first steps on the lunar surface. I remember being glued to the television at our summer home in Monroe NY watching history unfold. The space program was a really big deal in my family. My mom marked the occassion with a painting of the moon emblazened with a red, white and blue target painted on the moons surface. My moms art work has hung proudly on her living room wall for fourty years.
Could it be possible that fourty years ago that a half a million had a exodus to Max Yasgurs farm in Bethel NY. The participants of that musical event are now retirement age. I begged and tried using every power of persuasion I had to try to convince my parents that I at the ripe old age of 13 was responsible enough to experience a weekend of sex, drugs and rock and roll. After all my best Friends Sister would be there and she was 18. Well the begging didnt work, but I did get a great pair of bell bottom jeans as a consolation prize. This young hippie in the making made woodstock baby bracelets with beads and sold them to my friends for five dollars each. It kept me busy and out of trouble.
Is it entirely possible that thirty years ago you may have sat down to enjoy your first Happy Meal at McDonalds..wow just think how many happy meal toys we have sought after and enjoyed. When TY beanie babies were a hot comodity, I allowed my daughter to miss her last day of school two years running so we could snatch up as many teeny beanies we could get out hands on. We had sacks of happy meals in our car and shared all those bugers, checken nuggets and fries with the neighborhood.
I do feel really ancient as the passage of time has moved so quickly.
How do you remember the first landing on the moon? Did you go to Woodstock?
Whats you favorite Happy Meal toy of all time?

Not sure if this is a bad day but it could be. I am serving jury duty today. Its been a while since I have served and I must say they provide nice amenities. A computer cafe, books magazines, snack bar, TV , all the comforts of home really. I would like to serve on a jury, I think the judicial process is fascinating . I would hope I could be objective and follow the letter of the law. Two panels have been called so far, they are about to call another. This could be a very long day. I am spared once again but its still early.

What are your first-date dealbreakers?
Posted:

Cajun so sorry about the loss of your friend, its never easy saying goodbye to someone you care about . Life is funny sometimes, it seems like those who live their life on the straight and narrow, and are loving and kind are taken from us to soon. May peace be with you during these difficult times.
Leaving someone at a restaurant door is very poor behavior, but I think after I got over the initial surprise I would be thankful that he showed his true colors from the get go. Yes most often there are always two sides to a story and somehwere in the middle lies the truth. Sometimes it is just as it is. There is no way to justify leaving someone like that regardless of the reason. I think we all have felt like running off from time to time. Its far braver and respectful to simply indicate , I am sorry but I do not think you are right for me and end it properly. Kindness is such a dying art , we need to resurrect it.

What are your first-date dealbreakers?
Posted:
7/10/2009 9:18:00 PM
I met a guy at Down Town Disney who was very very late . I tried calling him to make sure he was alive and well and he never answered his phone. He apologized for being late and said he left his cell phone at home. Moments later it rang in his pocket. He acted shocked and surprised that he had it with him all the time, and it must have had some terrible malfunction. He was a terrible actor by the way. We went to dinner although I had already concluded this would be a one time meeting. He tried to be charming and make up for his poor behavior. I tried to be social. At the conclusion of dinner , he said you are not going to believe this but I forgot my wallet , I guess you will need to pay. I smiled and said I am afraid not. I rose from that table and walked away. I mentioned to the server on the way out that there is a possibility that the gentleman I was dining with may try to walk out without paying. He called me the next day to ask when he could see me again.
here are some dealbreakers for me...
He reeks of the very distinct odor of cigarettes.
He never stops talking about himself long enough to find out anything about me.
He has his eyes glued to my chest and never makes eye contact.
He intently watches the sporting event on the TV in the sports bar and I know that he has not heard a word I said.

Florida Panhandle

I do not live in the Florida Panhandle , but when I was a member on another site such as this I would travel by road or rail to attend events up your way . I did not know a soul personally before I went for the first time. I arrived a stranger and I left with lifelong friends. I made that trip at least once or month for two years to spend time with my panhandle family. We went on cruises together , rented cabins in the moutains, and shared amazing adventures together. I can say I have never met a panhandler I have not liked. Although the site I belonged too has shut it doors , plentyoffish has helped fill the void with so many opportunities locally. Someone needs to step up to the plate and get an event posted... post and they shall come. There are a multitude of venues to choose from , and oodles of party people who will be ever so grateful to get out and socialize.
I know redcurlz from my ventures that way... if you ever get the chance to meet her , you have to hear her sing. What a great voice.. and a awesome person too.

I have been on this site for many moons now and until this past year there was a atmostphere of cooperation, support and communication among hosts of POF events . This past year POF has gone back to highschool.I have seen a host doing their utmost to sabatoge anothers event.I have seen Hosts clearly violating event rules, getting kicked off the site , only to come back under a new name with the intent of causing heartship to those who are above board in their hosting duties. I have seen events pulled from the threads as a result of their ill mannered behavior. I have seen banished hosts , still hosting using another member to pull off their deed . I see the banished hosts continuing to schedule events that conflict with another event that has been posted for weeks prior to theirs.
I have not hosted an event on this site , but greatly appreciate all the hard work and effort put forth by those who do. I have throughly enjoyed all the events I have attended . I am perplexed why grown-ups feel the need to resort to such petty tactics toward others . It takes far less energy to be a team player and support one another. Party attendees as myself , love to see a full calendar of parties to attend. If they are not on the same night you can go to both. We all win that way.

Michael Jackson Is Still Dead

For those of you that have had your fill of Micheal Jackson being front and center in the news now for fourteen days, you may as well unplug those communication devices until human curiosity has found a new focus of attention. What I find disturbing are those who are capitalizing on his death. Programs from his memorial service are selling for hundreds of dollars on E-bay. The perimeter of the staples center was chock- ful of venders selling Tshirts, bejeweled gloves , and all kinds of memorabilia. The carnival atmostphere appeared to be very prevalent in contrast to solemn occassion. I did watch the memorial service and was deeply moved . Jermaine singing "smile", Brooke Sheilds recollection of her beloved friend, and sweet little Paris proclaiming to the world how much she loved her daddy. Al Sharpton's comments to the children tugged at my heart strings. "I want his children to know there was nothing strange about your daddy, it was strange what your daddy had to deal with."
MJ's children have never had a life of normalacy by our standards , but they were loved deeply by their father. Yes he is their father , biology does not make a father. God knows there are hoardes of terrible parents raising their biological children ( I make mention of this in reference to poster who mentioned that the children are not his) The children are older now and they will feel the sting from hateful comments made about their father. The worst is yet to come as they become pawns in a custody battle. To those who continue to malign this man in death should look inside themselves and wonder why this is so satisfying to them. Why is it easier for you to be judge and jury about a man you only know though the media ?, Why not explore the notion that this is a man who may have been falsely accused for capital gain? Micheal Jackson the entertainer by the nature of his celebrity belongs to all of us. Do keep in mind that a family is devastated by the loss of their beloved family member. This family has to grieve with the eyes of the world upon them.

I have to giggle... here you are all moaning about all the media attention about the untimely death of Micheal Jackson and yet you are all doing just the same here .. bringing Micheal Jackson front and center. The news is big business and this is a big story. When Anna Nicole Smith died the media circus was ongoing, and she got more attention in death then she did in life. Whether you are a fan of Micheal Jacskon or not , his amazing talent cannot be denied. His eccentric ways made him a fascinating subject for his fans and for those who just love a good train wreck. I feel sad by his loss. I feel for his family , and his children and for those who loved him on a personal level. RIP Micheal.. may you finally have the peace and happiness that was stolen in your youth.

Hello Keith the waiter.. you are right we need to have a bunch of practice parties to get ready for the August Event. I have a feeling that all the Fish that attended the last party there would not mind in the least coming out there to the Garage quite often. Its impossible to not have a good time there.I know I loved it there, my knees are still recovering from all the dancing I did last time.

Quiet.. we must fix that at once . I am personally going to go outside and raise a ruckus and wake the neighbors , it will be sweet revenge considering the months of band practice I have had to endure. I shall shout and kick my heels up and alert all that there is a spectacular party brewing at Route 46 in the garage. To not attend would be a crime against mankind and hedonists everywhere.

If you had 3 wishes, what would they be?

I have been wishing on a star every night for as long as I can remember. Its nice to wish and feel a sense of hope that all things are possible. My wishes have changed so much over the years. I wished for a horse for a really long time. I never got the horse. I wished to go Disneyland and that wish came true.
Really big wishes
Tolerance and human kindness for all, regardless of race, religion, body type, or sexual preference.
No more child abuse , and domestic violence
A smoke free world
Heartfelt wishes
Longevity and good health for my mom
Prosperity and happiness for my daughter always
To always have the blessing and joy of ever lasting friendships

Diane , you really did a sensational job , and the turn out was phenomonal. I loved the Garage, what a terrific place. It was great seeing so many familiar faces and meeting some spanking brand new fish too. Everyone was super friendly and there were so many nooks and crannys to mingle in. I believe I closed the bar down. I danced to the bitter end. Thanks for making great memories. I cant wait to go back there again.

The time is growing nearer and soon the garage will be packed with happy eligible fish flipping their fins and putting their best flippers foward.
(A variation of a song sung by shirley temple .. The cod fish ball ..feel free to sing along)
Next Saturday night at the garage
come join in the fun barrage
All the fishies jump and jive
Lets have a ball
Its some affair they'll all be there
From the Sun fish to the Whale
They'll turn out to shake a scale
Lets have a ball
Come along and follow me
To the bottom of the sea
We'll join in the Jamboree
Lets have a ball
Fishes dancing to and fro
Vintage cars all in a row
Fishies new and some you know
Lets have a ball
Cha -Cha Fishie leads the way
For us to dance and play
Hold me close ,as we sway
Lets have a ball
Fishies kissing left and right
Fishies drinking what a night
There won't be a hook in site
Lets have a ball

There are a bunch of great movies being released soon so we should have some awesome choices.

Hey everyone, we all need to pitch in and invite some more party revelers to show up. We cant keep the garage all to our selves. It just sounds like too much fun , for anyone to miss out. Of course no matter the numbers we will have a great party. I am going out fishing now and will catch some yummy fish to bring along.

What thing(s) has your date said that you think are completely insane?

Great topic and the events I am about to reveal still make me feel terribly un-comfortable. Same guy same date. I got caught up in the magnetism of a man from Europe. We had a quite nice romantic date at his apartment. He offered a " french "massage at one point and I accepted. During the course of his massage he pulls out a large zip lock bag filled with assorted adult toys. He said my muscles were tense and he could help me relax. I told him there was no way he was using those on me , god only knows who used them last. He told me he sanitizes them after each use. The answer was NO again from me. After the massage I went to take a shower to wash off the oil he used on my back. As I stepped out of the shower he snapped a picture. I was so upset. He swore that pic would be for his personal use only, and he takes pics of all of his dates. I could not leave there any faster. That Pic still haunts me today. This guy is a member on here BTW

monogamous or friends

This is a subject near and dear to my heart at the moment. I know we all have different goals on here. From strictly friendship to long term commitments. Of course we all have to start somewhere in our quest to find the person thats right for you. Few are fortunate to find the person perfect for them right away. It does happen sometimes , and when it does , you would hope that the two of you could build from there, just the two of you, and give it time to grow. I think the most important issue in this scenario is honesty. If you are dating more then one person at a time, and plan on continuing to do so .this information should be shared up front. This way no one gets hurt , and all involved can either accept this or move on. Its often easy to lose sight in the world of internet dating that this toy store of choices involves living breathing human beings with feelings.
Please be kind to others , its really not that hard to do.

Its only Sunday and I am ever so ready for a fishie party. I have had a few unsettling days and I really need to be surrounded by positive up beat people who make me smile. A great party at Casselberry should do the trick. I sure love my fishie family they never let me down. See you all soon.
