Odd how men do not question a woman about being over 45, never married and no kids. Guess men are just better at rolling with it to see how they are compatible or not. Many women are just paranoid and are suspicious if a man is out of the norm in any way shape or form due to the way society is. Not saying all women, just a vast majority. They way things are going in the next 10 years men like me will be labeled as perverts and will have to sign in with a local police dept where ever we move. "He has never married and has no kids. PERVERT!!!! Get out of our neighborhood. We don't want your kind."

Your not doing anything wrong. YOUR TRYING TO DATE IN THE PNW. The fast fix is move far from the PNW and never look back. Well if single men around the PNW get far and few dates. I can not wonder how hard it will be for you. Not trying to douse your hopes, just trying to look at things in a real light. Not just from my major disappointments for dating in PNW but many others as well. Also something to keep in mind. Having your daughter seeing you with different women in general will confuse her as to a mommy model. She is at that age where she will be confused easily. I read about this long ago. This is something you should look up. Every child deserves to have a mom and dad I think. I wish you the best of luck.

I got 1 message last week from a gal who was highly offended that I was not into large women. I should have saved the message. Was pretty funny that she was all freaked out and offended. Also she mentioned how dare I put that I'm not into large women in my profile towards the end of it and not on the top to save women like her time from reading it all. Oh boy I tell ya................... So after blocking said nut job I put it at the top. I think the whole Seattle dating thing is beyond saving. Before I moved to Seattle dating was easy and with average to above average women. I been in Seattle since 95 and the handful of dates I had when I moved here have flat lined. Been taking about 2 years to get 1 date and that usually turns out to be a serial dater. She is done eating, time for her to run home to her boyfriend. LOL Seattle is a experiment gone wrong for sure. All the gray days do not help either.

There is lots of articles that supposed to 'give' single women advise about men that have never been married and no kids. Oddly enough they paint a very negative picture of men like myself as being ones to avoid and such. It's a very troubling picture that generalizes all the men in this area as bad and nothing else. Hmmm, so there is no probability that he has not found the right woman, or just bad timing? No kids from being 'safe' during sex? Well now that was just reckless of us to do. What was we thinking? These writers are fond to point out that single women are best to date men who have been divorced, separated or other. Due to the fact that they was in a relationship in their younger years and clearly show they are not afraid of commitment unlike the unmarried single older men which they point that is the case. In a nutshell if its not meant to be, then it will not be no matter how hard to try to make it work. Stop living in fear of single men who never been married and no kids. Good grief. Most of us have no baggage or drama, yet we are looked down by society because we failed to act they way they think we should. On a side note: I have noticed something since I moved into my house. My neighbors at 1st said hi and stuff, then after the found out I was single. They don't hardly give me the time of day. Now if I was a single female I'm willing to bet they would be more willing to talk with me. Why would I say that? Society in most cases has made the older single male into a threat of sorts. The older single male in today's American society takes a pretty big beating. Its not a upfront in your face assault, but its there for sure. Single older women are given more of a break in many areas then the men are. When I was younger and would flirt around I would get a smile or a small flirt back and at times a phone number. Now days they are reaching in their pocket for the pepper spray or the pistol to shoot me if I even look their way. Pretty messed up that women fear us and feels they want nothing to do with us. Oh well....that is the way it is for me where I live. Hope the best to the rest of you.

To me its the endless cycle. People in their 20's will date people who are in their 20's. People in their 30's will want to date people in their 20's and low 30's if they can. People in their 40's want the people in their high 20's and 30's and maybe 40's. People in their 50's want the 30's and 40's for the most part. An so on.... Its like there is this window where dating is good, but once you pass it....well you know... Currently I think of myself like the Voyager satellite. The encounter with planets was my dating life/fun events. I'm at that point now where I enter interstellar space. sigh I did the pay single sites for 1 year. Lots of scammers is all I can say from both people and the companies that run them. When I 1st joined I was getting all sorts of messages left and right. The few I talked to wanted to video talk on yahoo messenger (Hackers can access your PC and snoop around without you noticing it. So just a heads up about Yahoo. Hotmail is secure and safer.) and all of the ones I text'd with was from back east and was now in Ghana/Nigeria with no money to get home and need cash to help them out. Then after about 1mo all the messages stopped. Sent out close to 300 messages and not 1 reply. Then 1mo before my paid time was over all these attractive women started messaging me and after a few messages their accounts could not be found. So save your money I guess is what I am saying.

I wanted to be married by 35. Well, that has long sailed and still no land in sight. For me I would have to say its would be the unconditional love between two people. I know marriage is not easy, look how many people are divorced. Anything worth fighting for to me has greater rewards. I been alone most my life and I'm tired of it, but I will not just get married to be married. It sucks having so much to offer on many levels and no one to share it with.

Don't shoot fish. There is a serious ammo shortage still. Not for me, but just saying. Use Dupont Spinners. (Dupont is a brand of dynamite). B00M!! Then when they float to the surface take the ones you want and leave the rest. Just good old fashion clean fun.

To me I think age is not the issue. Its the read/delete or unread/deleted over time that kills most of our hope(s). Between last year and into this year I have sent out about 375 messages. I got 1 very negative reply and nothing else. So for me I tossed in the towel in this site.

Lets see, men (some not all) have pictures of fish with them. Women have pictures showing cleavage. Far as guns go, there are I would say just as many women who like to shoot then the ones who freak out at the mere mention of the word. Also depends where in the US you live that plays a big factor in what the locals like to do for fun. I'd rather see a woman holding a gun then have peace signs all over her while smoking pot, but that's me.

Both men and women do that all the time. Its all part of the norm. Also POF does run fake ads to give the illusion of lots of people and stuff and when you ask one of the fake ads out they poof, then months later you will see them. Sometimes with different names and it starts over. I have had this happen to me about 8 times now.

WOW! It seems this kind of a thread is popping up about 2 times a month. Sort of feel people are expecting to be told everything is 180 degrees and dating in Seattle is easy now. I asked one gal out and funny how she 'forgot' she had her wedding ring in her pocket. Been noticing more and more married women playing the field. My other friend had it happen to him 3 times last month. I guess it human nature for a woman to let her ego go wild from all the attention they get in Seattle. An men are labeled as players, but not women. LOL.... must be nice.

I would read the ad, and write a nice message including things I read in their ad so they know I was not just blindly messaging them. After sending 300+ messages in 1 year and seeing Read/Deleted or Unread/Deleted I figured why bother. Its all about the 1 photo they see nothing more. Think its been over 3mo since I sent a message. Messaging women in my area of the world does not work. 8-( Oh well....

I always been a day late and dollar short on the marriage thing. Always got to the dock to see the boat already left. Did not matter how fast I got to the dock or how early I thought I was. Your asking the age old question really. To me what I want to know is when a woman ask where to meet a men where is she told to look? Is it the same place as guys are being told? Could be we are looking in 2 different places. Or this is a bit of the watched kettle never boils concept. Maybe to find something we must 1st stop looking for it. When we are looking for something we are highly focused on said item, our peripheral vision is ignored and we walk right past what we seek. Go on with your life, do the things you enjoy. You might without knowing trip right over it.

I say "BAH! Humbug!" to settling. Not setting my bar high at all, but realistically. Its like a car. LOVE the Ferrari's but know that they are out of my range (can always RENT them). However Corvette and Porsche are in my range, but why in the world would I settle for a Yugo? Its not even remotely close. Its better to be single and happy then married and miserable.

MSG 2 - I have written 200+ messages all well thought out and included in them what I read on their profile. I think due to the sheer numbers of messages women get they look at the pics and in 2-3sec they decide. Online dating went from who you are and real things that mattered to just looks. They look at the pic and if its not stellar they toss it. Just that simple.

The thing about POF to know and remember is not to rely on this site. Set your expectations at ZERO. This way anything good happens its a win, if you get shot up your already at ZERO and can not go lower. Always search for threads 1st about what your going to ask. Or at least try to. MSG 15 - I think men might be intimidated with you, not ignoring you. They see a beautiful women and think its either a scam, stuck up or she has so many men to contend with she will never write back. I have seen loads of very attractive women at the beach asked them out and got many dates. For me on this site I have written many women that are very attractive and messages are usually unread/deleted so they might think they are wasting time to write to you. So thats my input.

Well I can speak from experience in this area. My mom did exactly what you said. There was 4 years difference between us and she was older and we got along like we was meant to be. We dated 2 years and even our families got together and no issues. Decades later she has so much remorse for what she did and still ask for my forgiveness. A parents job is to prepare the kids for life and you have to let them take some falls to learn on the way. Be careful what you think is right. Sometimes its our pride that is running the show and not common sense.

I know people who are 10-15years apart. They are very happy and no regrets. It all boils down to YOU and HER. If you 2 are into each other and feel things are working why would you hit the panic button? Don't let a 5year age range freak you out. Your both adults right? THINK about what your are saying. You have better odds at winning the lottery and getting hit by lightning then you are at finding the 1 person in the whole world who completes you. Unless your not into her and you are here to find a easy out to dump her.
