it's only a cult of personality

Note that I am promoting the legalization of some drugs for medicinal use. I do not endorse the recreational use of any drugs mentioned in the above reply, because it involves drugs which are currently being manufactured illegally.

I do not include marijuana manufactured by State-sponsored industry such as the crappy medicinal marijuana (MM) as it is not being produced in a manner which enhances its medicinal properties.

Sativex consists of cannaboids from a blend of marijuana, and is superior to gov't-approved MM. But it is only approved for pain by cancer victims, because no doctor would prescribe it off label. That'd be illegal.

However, a variant of Sativex could be recommended for psychoses caused by mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, if they moderated the THC and raised the CBD level a tad.

CBD is a natural sedative, the use of which is known to demonstrate marked changes in schizophrenics, whereas THC consistently may cause psychoses, sometimes requiring sedation by benzodiazepines such as Ativan or something stronger injected in a person's ass who is exhibiting any number of violent psychoses and/or psychotic behavior. Yep, sedatives control psychoses caused by the stimulant-like effect of such drugs as alcohol, high-THC marijuana, cocaine, crack, methamphetamines, crystal meth, PCP, etc.

However, with PCP, the amount of sedative needed to sedate a person may threaten the person's life. It cannot be an opioid derived from opium due to the risk of CV and breathing complications which may result in death by heart attack, stroke, or anoxia. As well, there is no safe benzodiazepine. Usually, the doctor administers a safe dose of a benzo and orders restraints. Most harm suffered by the patient, though, is due to the inappropriate behavior both by the patient and by his handlers i.e. violently trying to remove restraints, resisting hospital security personnel, etc. Indeed, a person undergoing PCP-induced psychosis is at risk first to himself and secondly to everyone within reach.

it's only a cult of personality
Posted: 9/29/2009 2:31:23 PM
why AA can't be a cult:

There is no cult of personality except for bill w, and he was an acidhead. Seriously.

The anti-drug stance is what makes AA "religious". This stance NEVER works in rehab. Proof: The Phoenix program for meth addicts in rehab failed the first year on abstinence, but has been showing success by instituting a marijuana substitution program to "cure" meth.

IMHO if AA banned cigarettes, there'd be more relapses.

As well, Bill W"s advocacy of LSD alienated him to the anti-drug conservatives in the original home group so much he was quietly told not to promote drug use at meetings.

However, the LSD cure for alcohol had the lowest rate of relapse. Very few people who experienced LSD in Saskatchewan had relapses.

Why? Dropping acid does ALL the first steps prior to the one where you make amends to people that your drinking hurt.

As well, any impending psychoses involving violence is avoided because the doctors who implemented this study didn't let anyone trip out & escape, unlike the uncontrolled setting of illegal acid trips kids do nowadays.

Therefore, prohibition of some drugs which have therapeutic potential is immoral, much more than carefully controlled use of these recreational drugs.

Am I for legalization of some drugs? Yes.
Which ones?
Marijuana, because it is less harmful than cigarettes; entheogens such as LSD and ibogaine, for drug rehabilitation which lasts;
MDMA, which in pure form is safer than methamphetamines and other stimulants, though not as safe as caffeine;
Salvia, which is a kappa opioid agonist with some disassociative properties, but is the only carbohydrate with mild and moderately brief hallucinogenic properties -- mainly for entheogenic purposes involving rehabilitation from other drugs; and
a couple banned drugs which never got to market because the State fears pro-social drugs which are safer than alcohol and tobacco, because no one in power wants to lose profits and sales, and also because sociability is supposed to be learned, not medicated.

The last two drugs never got out of a lab setting, because today's State is afraid of a pro-social drug which is safer than alcohol and tobacco. Alcohol and tobacco companies would lose profit if the government had a safer alternative to alcohol and tobacco.

Why is it so hard to talk about Race? When Do we the people Of Canada talk about Race
Posted: 2/26/2009 2:28:47 PM
Race is a social construct of recent vintage.

It did not exist prior to the Age of Exploration.

In fact, the Crusades were not racist. They were religious, because back then religion == politics i.e. 100 Years War.

Even the wars waged by Indian Emperor Ashoka after he became Buddhist were religious ones without a lot of bloodshed as in the wars he waged as a Hindu.

It's even true today in India. More violence has been wrought in the name of Shiva than in the name of the Buddha these days.

Tazer crazy / Overuse of police force?!?
Posted: 2/26/2009 2:20:26 PM
until cops stop being reactionary, you aint gonna see any apology for anything anytime soon.

i mean, these are the same guys who claimed i fell down several times when i got beat up by a thug suffering withdrawal from the meth a BC judge approved of being diverted to Surrey just to entrap an HA thug circa 2004.

one of the judge's associates even collaborated with lawyers, a crooked ex-judge / lady lawyer of Powell River and the CRA to scam money off businessman Callum Houston between 2001 and 2008 using BMO and TD banks along with Price Waterhouse with the help of the BC AG.

so as for the BC justice system and the Canadian one, it only serves the rich. Any denial by authorities is smoke and mirrors, fulla lies and BS.

it's all about crookedness. that's built into the Canadian Criminal Code, right under "sedition = private militia, guilty of treason & summary execution".

i read the father of this lady claimed NBC had the interview with her "under duress" but NBC claimed that she consented to the interview, and they "did not kidnap her".

given that NBC is the news media which showed parts of the V-Tech shooter video, i tend to believe the father. however, i have doubts the lady being spoiled led to the use of fertility drugs, because being spoiled does not make you infertile.

i do agree with him regarding the claim that since she was the only child, perhaps her motivation behind having so many kids might be due to a subconscious wish for siblings.

tho i am also glad that her husband is being deployed in iraq. the lady needs a nanny and a butler to help the grandparents, although imho family and children services will probably poke their noses into the situation IF another newmedia decides to "kidnap" her again, and put her "under duress".

unless of course she wants to make a reality show out of this to save on pampers.

Wrist bands / glow bracelets, do you want them?

are LED bracelets as toxic? ones with hearing aid sized batteries? ones that use rechargable aa's?

would a t-shirt be non-toxic? what if a member couldn't afford one?

how do we tell POF members from scammers looking to leave us while footing their bills?

a total of 17 POF members actually made it, including four late comers.

by then i was totally out of it, due to the lovely liver & onions with mashed potatoes, which i had difficulty eating mainly cos i'd spoiled my appetite with a chocolate muffin, a buttertart and 4 jack herer 420 energy drinks.

tho, if it weren't for the energy drinks, then i'd prolly be nodding over the mashed potatoes, which aint good.

i'm gonna blame the insomnia Monday night fer that.

nice to see you all!

this is a maybe for me, because I know that area, and it's wicked after closing time, especially behind Bingo Country (the old Safeway building). i' even have a true urban legend that'd curl your toes, in a "what's this world come to" kinda way.

usually i don't go to POF but after the ex-Gf dumped me back at the end of December, I figured that I'm over it.

if any woman knows what mild TBI is, then we should talk.

my TBIs go back to when i was 2.

by the time i was in grade 2, i had had at least 4.

by the time i graduated high school, 5+.

it wasn't until the recent mild TBI in July 2004 that things improved for me.

yes, improved... i figured out that my narcolepsy is a side effect of the TBIs' cumulative effect.

however, the lack of communication and intimacy might be a side effect, not of TBIs, but of BEING MALE and not having a role model who showed true communication and intimacy (my late father).

and if you're a woman and afraid of the implicit difficulty that implies, then I hope that you have had a good pair of role models to compensate for what i don't know how to provide.

so not only am i mildly physically handicapped as a result of vaccine during my mom's pregnancy, i am also emotionally disabled due to the poor role model, tho IMHO facebook, IMs, and my blog should make up for this, IF you don't mind having to discover things about me online rather than face to face!!

nobody's perfect; and Ghod had a plan when he made us this way. i dunno exactly what it is, but have discovered an inkling of it from the Buddhist point of view.

why? cos i really can't wait to return to Him to pay back the loan of this soul of mine!!!!!!!!!

Posted: 2/22/2008 2:31:37 PM
you'd be better to google "torproject" and "linux".

IMHO windows was designed to access data behind firewalls in computer pools, never wandering into the light of day to become malware roadkill. any sysadmin who allows http packets outside the intranet needed to get a secure proxy server to filter out pr0n and "accidental" leaks via Outlook Express e.g. code that compromises a machine via HTMLized email.

while OpenBSD is secure, and the GUI aka desktop can insulate most users from the shell, it's not for the worker drones but for propellorheads. it has security at the top of the list of online security.

Linux is fine and more robust for the Internet IMHO but your mileage may vary (YMMV).

Open Office is a great substitute for MS Office.

i don't think pofadmin can block adcontent as well as the user who uses the site.

i use Ubuntu Linux and use privoxy, but it is wide open under epiphany so I use that only when i need google or to access a non-SSL website.

otherwise, privoxy and tor are almost mandatory to A) block bad cookies, scripts etc and B) have a secure tunnel between my computer and the target URL.

tho a faster computer will shorten the lag by a little bit.

the number one thing you need after the modem is setup is a router.
this stops 10 percent of the problems by helping to keep out the door knockers aka portscanning botnets.

the other thing you need to do is to use a good firewall software that can handle what the OP is talking about.

2001-2002: i got the couch, the furniture, and microwave

all FWB relationships.

then I made friends with a great lady from Truro NS as best female friend.

just to prevent more break up rules, and just to avoid inheriting a furnished house complete with kids, i am now changing my profile to friendship.

Though, the ladies interested in me live far away and...

While I can live with being alone, I am lonely.

Though, bars do not do it for me, consider that I am a very moderate drinker.

Hopefully by the time I am ready to check out the old age home, I am somebody's type.

Until then, I am gonna say, "I agree. He is dishonest."

Bare Breasted...on the beach
Posted: 9/24/2007 1:49:28 AM
Look: i've seen so much boobies online, bare boobs in public on a beach would get barely more than a brief glance.

Children are not going to notice the difference, just the rare perverted men.

If more women went topless under guard of the topless police - the ones protecting the rights of topless women - I am sure in 15 years nobody would oogle.

BTW I read somewhere that blood pressure in both men and women go down when they are naked, men from looking at breasts and women, from being free and unmolested.

Hmm, I should try out Wreck Beach at least once before the sun goes away til Spring.

Sunday, Sunday
Posted: 9/24/2007 1:23:45 AM
iDK. Worship to me consists of quiet celebration of my heritage, which consists of listening to JPOP music, of which now i've only listened to half (almost 90 minutes). It is about belonging, about thinking of others rather than about the illusive self.

Since I do that everyday, then everyday is my Sunday for about 90 minutes, or more.

Then again I am Japanese, so it comes with our culture to be deeply spiritual to the point of seeing nothing wrong with being Shinto by respecting the divine (kami) in all things and being Buddhist - all things have Buddha nature.

I cannot comment on Christianity because if I were thoroughly Japanese, then it'd seem almost barbarian to consider the word of one book paramount over the law of the land and the family, two things I as a Japanese respect.

Maybe it's the duality of Christianity, too, that grates with the harmony both Buddhism and Shinto tries to emphasize. Perhaps too, that is why situation ethics arose in Japan.

If one leads a Christian life, then the challenges faced puts a lot of stress on you. Since good and evil are worshipped as absolutes with discrete archetypes such as God and Satan, and since "one cannot serve both manna and God", one is either "for God" or "against God". There is no middle ground.

Yet in Buddhism, which emphasizes moderation, there is a middle ground.

For even passions, the epitome of evil in Buddhist thought, can be transformed into good through not acting on them.

By not acting on them, one can achieve peace of mind in knowing that good and evil depend on the situation.

Even so, I still believe in God in the deist tradition of the European colonizers who had to endure European religious wars.

And to not war with the Christians, I agree with their sentiments about their Lord.

So, me worshipping my heritage is but a way of worshipping something bigger than I, like a clan to which I belong called "being Japanese".

So worship is about belonging. There really isn't a "me" when I belong to an "us." Being Japanese is part of belonging. So is being a Canadian citizen, and living in BC.

So as well as being Japanese, I am also Canadian.

I think that is why I listen to JPOP music everyday, to remind myself of my heritage as a Canadian-born Japanese.

i predict JPOP music will become more popular as time goes on among today's youth and multiculturalists like me.

japanese tapas bars (izakaya) are getting popular in vancouver, too.

i'd like to hear mr allen's comment on that, and would love to flame him for anything derogatory he might have to say about that so-called "invasion".

his conservative stance has popularity mainly because it touches people's "hot" buttons.

but the ironic thing is, a lot of Chinese people from Ontario agree with him!

Olympic Protest (APC)

Bringing the protest home to VANOC members should serve as a wake up call.

Building 1/4 of the 2100 units of housing for the homeless isn't enough, considering that there's about 2 yrs left to finish all the units.

Esp. with an apparent lack of commitment to the homeless.

Bit by bit the politicians are actually taking money which could go towards building more housing to build sports facilities.

If the governments involved can throw tax dollars at the Olympics, a transient event lasting less than 6 months, then they should also invest in the homeless, since homelessness may last a lifetime.

Olympic Protest (APC)
Posted: 5/17/2007 11:13:46 PM
Please read up on the NO 2010 website carefully.

http://www.no2010.com/1/

IMHO careful research of APC and their alliance with the Native Youth Movement to protest 2010 Olympics shows that they have valid claims.

Public dissent has been criminalized in the free world over the past 10 years.

However, VPD has tried not to make Vancouver a police state, but their surveillance of APC and associated protestors has not been up to snuff.

Whoever made the threats at the May 16 protest, that might be the work of protestors hiding behind APC, possibly from the NYM camp or from a radical group which was ousted from APC HQ.

As well, the protest in April where the media quotes a supposed APC member or two regarding a bag containing urine-filled bottles - these quotes are the opinions of the No 2010 protestors, not the official PR specifically from APC and should be taken with a grain of salt. http://ottawa.indymedia.ca/en/2007/04/4531.shtml

Specifically, members of the radical group are the source of militancy within the ranks of the protestors.

Naked breasts upset adults more than they do children, who may become disturbed by the unusual attention we pay to breasts, sometimes to their detriment.

We definitely need more topless women on all beaches in BC to desensitize other people to bare breasts, even if each woman needs an escort to protect her from the culturally intolerant aka the mashers, the gropers and the moralists.

Just gimme a heads-up on which beaches are breast-tolerant.

In short, do enough to be happy not delirious, psychotic, or out of your mind.

If you haven't the willpower to have fun on one drink, one puff, one hit, one line, or one pill, then you have no concept of the word MODERATION.

And yes, when your substance use becomes abuse, I hope you find it in yourself to check yourself into the nearest mental health & addictions centre.

This goes for cigarette smokers and hungry people too.

Doing anything to excess is almost a form of mental illness.

YMMV

State of mind.. is it Nature or Nurture
Posted: 4/8/2007 7:04:11 PM
i try to think of personality at birth as tabula rosa.

it's not at all fixed like people tend to believe. those who believe so have fixed ideas about personality.

people are much more complicated than that. and no one has ALL the symptoms of a disorder, because each of those symptoms are actually facets of a complex personality that usually isn't set in stone.

in a sense, "mental illness" is all the negative aspects of personality plus other behaviors that annoy the hell out of people, and make them feel afraid or weirded out.

personality can also be all the positive and negative aspects of behavior that both charm us and make us wonder if we're going nuts.

thus state of mind is both nature and nurture, with big scoops of nuts.

i consider my baggage, if it is there, to be ASSETS.

for all my weaknesses are potential strengths to balance the obvious strengths.

children and dating

actually i am more afraid of women with children, due to the risk of relationship violence.

what if i voice an objectional opinion based on the scientific study that children of single mothers are eight times likely to be killers, while i am promoting a non-violent, peace-loving lifestyle?

would i be rejected because i am not typically male?

In Japan, there are women who avoid loud noises because it makes them have orgasms.

I believe they are in a video on youtube.
