Personality Test Results

I rated an ISTJ, sounds pretty boring. Who wants to be seen by their potential date or mate as "dependable."

ISTJs are very loyal, faithful, and dependable. They place great importance on honesty and integrity. They are "good citizens" who can be depended on to do the right thing for their families and communities. While they generally take things very seriously, they also usually have an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun - especially at family or work-related gatherings.

rebound relationships...do they ever work?
Posted: 4/13/2007 10:29:37 AM
[The story: I like guy. Guy likes me (so he says). Guy just got out of a relationship and is not sure if he wants to start a relationship with me because he is afraid that I would be a rebound. Guy does not want to hurt me.]

You have to decide if the joy of having him is worth the risk of losing him. It sounds like he may be a nice boy if he cares about you.

Only you can decide if he is worth the risk.

weddings ring,yes or no.

Jon,

What you should be concerned about is how she feels about you not wearing a ring.

What is a ring after all? Nothing more than an overpriced hunk of a not-all-that-rare mineral polished up to make it shiny...

If you believe that you are indeed foolish... its value.... its true value... is that of a symbol, nothing more.

I understand your dislike of jewelry on men, I wear none myself and have only worn anything in line twice (one was a set of dog tags (identity disks) which really doesn't count) and my wedding ring which never left my person from the day she slipped it on my finger until almost a year after she ran off (13 years later).

As a hospital pharmacist (chemist) I could’t wear a ring while preparing intravenous medications but I used the same trick my father used, my wedding ring was "pinned" to my scrub shirt with and old diaper pin.... one that was used initially on my children which is another reminder of what the ring truly meant.

Later on you mention a nickel allergy.... while I found it odd that you failed to mention this medical condition initially it is not a valid deterrent, any competent jeweler can provide you with an 'allergy free' ring. The materials used are somewhat unusual in rings such as titanium or perhaps you might be able to even use 'surgical' stainless steel (what medical instruments are made from). You may have to have the ring ordered by a local 'family' jeweler rather than a teenage girl working at the kiosk at the mall which seems to be the fashion nowadays. Cost is not a limiting factor, even with titanium, and the novelty of that metal might even make it more special.

Personally I find it suspicious when a person I know to be married does not wear a ring and also when I see the indentation of a ring in the skin and no ring to make it present.

As for a ring being a deterrent..... I think it is true because a woman wearing a ring is completely safe from any advances from me and I would rebuff any advances from her.
