Fun over 45... it happens
Posted: 11/22/2012 10:10:41 AM
A couple of months ago I took my 18 and 20 yr old kids to a big water park. I kept pace with them and had a blast. Needless to say, I had aches and pains the next day but it was well worth it. They were surprised I could keep up.

OVER 50 And Alone....again.
Posted: 11/22/2012 9:59:38 AM
You are right.

There are those that have been bachelors so long... all they want women for is sex. Then there are those newly divorced men who just want women for sex.

Hang in there.... someone who seeks companionship and friendship... along with sex... will come along eventually.

Waiting until 55 to date
Posted: 11/22/2012 9:44:41 AM
Firstly, congratulations on the weight loss.

Secondly, your child is your first priority, especially since he has special needs.

Thirdly, when you are ready to date, you will. I wouldn't put a time stamp on it if I were you.

The dreaded 50
Posted: 11/15/2012 10:56:26 PM
Does life get better after 50... dating wise? Dreading Monday... the big 50 for me. I had met a man from POF that I had a great relationship with. He was 30 and I was 49.... now after losing my cougar status and hitting 50... I have no idea what to expect. I am thinking I should be a bit aggressive.. be bolder. Men seeing 50 as an age might have its drawbacks. Input would be much appreciated to make my profile stand out.. make me stand out. Advice please!

Dating after 45...

I agree with the quantity of so called players on dating sites. Its pretty pathetic for men in their 40s and 50s to be players.

LOL you wasted all that time in phone chat.

Rule of thumb.... if they don't want to meet you in two weeks.... you probably wont meet.

He is obviously a player and probably married.

Dating after 45...
Posted: 9/19/2012 10:55:06 AM
Wrong tude OP.

There is nothing wrong with coffee for a meet and greet. I prefer ice cream or a chat/walk in a public park. And in this economy, it is unfair to expect the man to pay. I pay my half or sometimes just pay for both.

Interesting discussion heard over lunch
Posted: 9/18/2012 12:22:50 AM
Hmmm... bachelor A is going thru his mid-life crisis.... in my opinion.

I would disagree with the statement made about dating younger people.

I met a man 20 years younger than myself, here on POF, by the way. We had a great dating relationship. He was mature, level headed and sincere.

He is also in the army reserves and was recently deployed to Afghanistan.

If he would like to date me when he returns, I will welcome him back into my life with open arms.

Try dating younger men and you might be pleasantly surprised.

MOST HATED RESPONSE--'Are You Into Younger Guys?'
Posted: 8/30/2012 12:23:02 AM
Take a chance and go for it.

I dated a POF man 20 years younger than myself. I never would of imagined dating a man that much younger. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Online dating working for you?

LOL...

After I posted this... I received a sweet message from a hunk.. or I should say... from a profile with hunky pics on it.

And the man claims to be an American military man.... but he was sporting a pic with an Italian soldier's uniform.

Sad... just sad.

Thanks OP... it is annoying when people don't look like their pics.

Integrity is everything in my book!

I have met a man I dated for a few months.

Most meet and greets remain just meet and greets.

I am not giving up hope !!!

To clarify, I did not mean pepsi and beer together... I meant lots of pepsi or lots of beer.

When I make comments like.... aren't you concerned about your blood sugar? I would get comments like... I have glucophage in the car and insulin if I need it.

Wow! And I sip on my water.

I certainly don't want to date a man who needs a nurse to take care of him or owes a small fortune in medical bills.

I have met a few diabetics who drink pepsi and beer like fish.

Sad....

With old age creeping upon us.... we are faced with many health concerns we never worried about in our youth.

That being said.....

It is important that we take care of ourselves by trying to shed pounds, cut back on alcohol and fatty foods etc....

So my question is..... when you are on a meet and great or first date and you notice your date has very unhealthy habits and looks unhealthy or unkempt does this play a factor in repeat dates?

Personally, it does for me.

Need advice - how to ask a cashier out
Posted: 5/18/2012 10:21:19 PM
Hmmm and asking cashiers out is different from asking women out who work in other professions??? Maybe use a Kennedy half dollar and remind her how hard it will be to store it in her till... and that you will give her two quarters instead if she has coffee with you? Or... try a $2 bill.

I don't see anything wrong with it unless you get intimate. I feel that when you have had sex with someone, you should not be dating anyone else, and have an exclusive dating relationship.
