Fedor.
Well-rounded fighter. No weaknesses. Can fight back from adversity (been slammed on his head, etc.). After watching that fight against Brett Rogers tonight, Fedor's got one helluva right hand.
I've heard people say he hasn't fought quality opponents but it took Couture a five round decision to beat Tim Sylvia when Fedor submitted him in under a minute.
Aside from maybe (a BIG maybe) Josh "Steroid Boy" Barnett, I really don't see any current heavyweights that can beat Fedor.

I've read god only knows how many threads about people who get ticked off because someone wasn't "100% up front and honest" about not wanting to see them again etc. etc.
Myself, I'm a realist. Most people don't want to hurt others feelings, are worried about receiving an angry response, etc. etc. therefore they don't come right out and say that they aren't interested. And no matter how many times people complain about it, it's not going to change. One has a better chance of changing the rotation of the Earth (good luck
). Therefore, I've learned to take a hint. If someone keeps making excuses to not see you, quits corresponding, etc. etc. I realize that they are no longer interested and simply let it go and move on.........
Life is much simpler and less stressful that way

Trekker - I know you wouldn't be caught dead in a country bar
I got nothing against country bars. Actually been to D&D before. Can't make it tonight, though. Leaving town this evening. Have to be in Wisconsin tomorrow morning. Won't be back for awhile.
so I guess you can go back to listening to your Megadeath & Gwar CD's! I listened to that kind of stuff when i was 12-13 years old....how old are you again?
Never heard of Gwar but Megadeath didn't come out until the 90's. Even then you still had to be closer to collecting Social Security than you were 12 or 13
Now come on and tell me how MU is going to win the college football national championship this year....
Nowdays you damn near have to be an SEC team to be voted National Champ. I'm not worried about that. Just as long as we whoop ass on the Cornholers and the Gayhawks I'll be happy

Trekker, i've been here a lot longer than what my profile suggests.
Kind of like the men you accuse of being someone they're not? For all anyone knows, you could've met someone on here, fell hard for them, the feeling wasn't mutual, they said adios and now you want revenge. I just don't think dating sites are the proper place to conduct witch hunts IMO.........

SO why are you still single after 30?
Posted:
8/27/2009 12:14:40 PM
The question "Why are you still single?" is silly and insulting. Nobody asks a married person "Why are you still married?" The question seems to assume that there is something wrong with being single. There is not.
Thank you sir. Those were the words I was looking for in an earlier post on this thread but didn't know how to express it.
The sad thing about it, though, is when the question is asked how many single people suddenly feel compelled to have to justify themselves. Like you said, if you were to ask someone, "Why did you get married?" "Why are you divorced?" "If you're divorced why did you get married in the first place?" as if implying there is something wrong with it the person in question would very likely get annoyed, if not downright offended.
If there's people out there who can't comprehend the fact that being single is a good thing then there's really not much you can tell them.
Their problem. Not mine.......

Attending POF events - some do/some don't
Posted:
8/24/2009 12:08:21 PM
There are a lot of people on POF that don't go to any of the the POF meet & greet events. I was wondering....why not?
I'll venture a theory.
I've read some threads on here where people have made personal attacks on each other, called people out, get pissed off over a situation or circumstance they were in and sound vengeful, etc. I can't speak for anyone else but as for myself I'm one of those people who likes to keep my private life private. Whenever I've had bad relationships, situations, etc. I pretty much keep it to myself and learn from it so as not to end up in the same situations again. I certainly wouldn't want to air it out in public. I think when some people read these threads they probably decide to forgo the events and stick to site correspondence. They probably think to themselves, "What if I meet someone, things don't work out and they start making accusations about me in the threads or at events to get even with me? No thanx."
I know that if I ended up in a situation like that I'd avoid events, too. There's enough stress and negativity in the world the way it is. I try to avoid it or reduce it. I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to add to it if I can help it.......

Just from reading this one thread alone (not to mention the rest of the forums, correspondence, life experiences, etc.) these terms are relative to each person's own definition of them.
Therefore I really don't put a lot of relevance on them. I can get a much better idea of what a person wants by reading their profiles, posts and of course through correspondence.

Is it wrong of me
Posted:
8/2/2009 9:23:34 PM
No offense but this sounds like an attention-seeking self-pity thread which is probably why there's almost enough votes to have it removed.
Whining, complaining and doing the woe is me thing tends to portray negativity and low self-esteem. What self-respecting, positive person would want to embrace that?
Everybody will probably run into or have relationships with "losers" (I use the term rather loosely, not the word I'm really looking for) at some point in their life but if you are attracting them all the time then perhaps it's time to re asses attitude, outlook, etc. and see what it is you are doing to attract them.
Perhaps next time you post try posting something positive, an interesting or intriguing opinion or viewpoint, something humorous or even flirtacious (in good taste of course
) instead of the self pity thing.
Another suggestion. If your profile is anything like your post, remove any of the negative things about what you don't want, who did you wrong, etc. and focus on positive things about yourself and what you are looking for.
And remember......if you get crude or unwanted emails from people you have "ban user" and "delete" buttons at your disposal to weed out any unwanted suitors. PLEASE don't start a thread complaining about all the lousy emails you get and how horrible guys are.......that subject may be a bit overdone
Best of luck to ya

Posted:

As to whether or not I thought I would still be single at 40 when i was in my 20s and 30s I had no idea one way or the other. Nor did I care one way or the other. My life has never been about having to get married in order for me to feel complete. the way I've always looked at it is if I happen to meet someone i want to spend the rest of my life with then fine.......
.......in the meantime I truly enjoy the freedom of being single and doing what I want when I want and how the hell I want to do it

All of the people who think it's the internet that's giving people all of these ideas for "perverted" or "demented" sexual acts severely underestimate human creativity and imagination. While most people don't take their sex to a fecal, bestial or whatever the hell else level there's always been some people that do such things probably for as long as mankind has existed. And definitely way before internet porn came along.
The OP's post sounds more like an attention seeking thread than anything else

it's almost like some of them WANT to be single. but if that's the case, what the hell are they doing on a dating site?
I DO WANT to be single. It doesn't mean I want to live the life of a monk though. After all, this is a DATING site, nothing on this site says you have to want to get married to use it.
Besides, what does that have to do with traveling alone? Numerous people have already listed their various reasons for traveling alone. I don't need someone to hold my hand everywhere I go.
Let it go.

The only micro-crack I see in Roger's game has to do with his one-handed backhand. It is the reason he has a losing record against Nadal. Nadal as a lefty always hits his forehand with that crazy topspin to Fed's backhand as one of his core strategies & as a one hander it's tougher to handle.
Excellent observation. Perhaps Federer should start developing a two-handed backhand to add to his arsenal just for that.
That should fix the micro-crack

I would happily support decriminalization of marijuana but vehemently oppose commercial production or taxation. As I posted earlier I wouldn't condone putting smoke of any kind into someone's lungs but sending someone to jail or prison for smoking and ruining their life over it is ridiculous. Therefore decriminalization. But if it's allowed to become commercially produced corporations will heavily promote its use in order to sell even more and make more money. If it is taxed government will become dependent upon the tax revenue therefore it wouldn't be in its best interest to discourage its use, encouraging its use in one form or another would create more revenue. Besides, taxes continue to increase, what good has it done overall?
Decriminalization, let people grow a few plants in their house and that's about it.

If any one else has a guitar to bring and play please do so cause I don't want to be the only one there with one. Not to say I wouldn't play after a few beers.
I'm considering attending this and I do have a guitar but I've only been playing for a few months. Don't know if I'd be much help in that department.
