Why is it considered having low self esteem for wanting just sex? Everyone has physical and emotional needs and until the emotional needs can be fulfilled, work on the physical. No need to judge anyone. If that is not your cup of tea, then simply move on. And no I am not looking to just get laid!

No it doesnt build self-esteem, especially coming from within the home. The home is supposed to be the safe place for anyone to go. There is enough of this crap going on at school, that I do not think it needs to be in the home. An ex did this to my 6 year old son, and would even argue with him! He would even do it to my 8 year old daughter. Needless to say, he is not around anymore! He also competed with them in everything they did! Just not right for a grown man to do that. Instead why not teach by example! Laugh at yourself when you make a mistake or something along those lines! Trust me, they will watch how you handle it and go from there!

I'm in my 40's, haven't hit menopause, still have young kids (6 and 8 - late bloomer) at home and holy crap the sex drive is unbelievable! But I am also more comfortable with myself and I think that has a lot to do with it. Just my opinion though. If I could, I would give up my job and have sex all day every day. LOL

OP, every relationship is going to have arguements. You have two different people with two different opinions. It's going to happen. They key is resolving them, not stewing over petty stuff like leaving the cap off the toothpaste. The world is not going to stop because of that!

RECENTLY divorced, no I would not date someone who is recently divorced. That time frame of recently is 1 month to a year after their divorce. A person needs time to get over being angry it did not work, rebound relationship, etc.

But, yes, I would date a man who was divorced and was over all the post-divorce stuff.

My rule is the suitor does not meet my kids until we are 3 months into a relationship. I also only go out when they are with thier dad for the weekend. If they can make it past the three month mark - usually everyone is on their best behavior for three months and then their true colors come out - then and only then will I even consider introducing my kids to them.

Yes. I am busy. I work full time, raise my children full time, house to take care of, extracurricular activities, etc. Just like other people without kids. It is just my extracurricular activities are for my kids. People without children have jobs, houses to run and have extracurricular activities for themselves - yet their totem pole is not an issue. Why is it for a single parent?

Then there are the men that you tell what you like and want and need and just don't give a crap and are not open to being adventerous in the bedroom. I have asked, showed videos of what I would like to have done, hinted, and everything and still he will not do it. Plus being turned down altogether is a HUGE deal to me. It is a HUGE turn on when a man is confident with himself in bed and WILL actually listen to what the woman wants. I certainly do that for my partner!

It should be mandatory learning for a couple when they get married - kind of like premarriage counseling; less cheating, both partners pleased. The men need to learn how to do it as much as the women need to not be embarrassed about doing it! It's amazing for both people and creates such a bond!

My dream relationship would be where the man was the primary bread winner, I worked part time, and took care of the kids and him, and the inside of the house, although I love yard work. In my past relationship, the ex was very lazy, didnt work, and did not help out at all. I love traditional roles for relationships, but just do not think that is available anymore.

I would hope not! At my age, I have come to realize and accept my sexuality and its not a matter of having had sex with a lot of guys. It's more that I am comfortable with myself, really love sex/love making and want to please my partner and be pleased by my partner. Here's to not being shy anymore and loving every minute of it! LOL

Me personally, I agree with the courting process, having that emotional connection and then exploring each other's bodies and having that physical pleasure. That does not in any way mean waiting 6 months before being intimate, rather if there is that emotional connection, then being intimate is the next step. I know I "perform" better when I have that connection with a man, knowing I feel safe, and he accepts me as I am lets me be more free in the bedroom or where ever it happens to be. LOL I guess that emotional connection is just a tad bit higher on my priority list - and just pray that he is wonderful in the bedroom!

I think ya'll are missing the point. I have no problem discussing sex, but there is a person (not me) who wants to have sex on the first meeting to see if there is sexual compatibility. Not discuss it, talk about likes and dislikes, but actually do the deed to see if there is sexual compatibility there. He is really thinking that if the sex is great then everything else will fall into place.

Now, sex is important in a relationship, right up there with personality, compatibility, and all that. It just raised a question for me because there is a person that wants to have sex first and then have a relationship. Is this the norm now for dating?

Yes, the two do go hand in hand, but to find out if you are sexually compatible FIRST and then find out if you are compatible in other ways was my question. In other words, if there is phenomenal sex, then everything else will work out...

I tried the speeddate place and I am so upset that I wasted my money! I have a serial texter right now. His excuse is that he is to shy to talk on the phone. I have asked him to call and he still doesnt, expressing my opinion on why I would like to actually be able to "talk and hear his voice." To no avail. Still texting and I really have no desire to take it any further than that now, its been about 6 weeks of this. We have met twice and it was like pulling teeth to have a conversation with him. Oh well...he is a nice guy otherwise. Makes me feel like he is not interested in spending time with me or actually having a meaningful conversation where we hear each other voices.

I think you did the right thing. I would want to know if my husband was cheating on me. Kudos to you! And I am not really sure you did it out of revenge. It was a situation that she needed to know about no matter how painful it is. How long would she have looked like the fool if you had not said anything?
