good god I'm excited!!!! nothing can wreck this day! I'm at work and so far I was late, spilled an entire pot of coffee, tore a filter into another fresh pot, scalded my hands with boiling water (not to badly tho) and had to clean the cafe from top to bottom!
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
Yeah the big boss man likes to crack that whip
I ain't nothin' but a number on his time card slip
Gave him 40 hours and a piece of my soul
Puts me somewhere at the bottom of his totem pole
Hell, I don't even think he knows my name
Hey, all week long
I'm a real nobody
But, I just punched out
And it's paycheck Friday
The weekend's here
Good God Almighty
Gonna get drunk and be somebody

HOW do you know if a person is THE ONE?
Posted:

well as I've never met "the One" I can't tell you what defining characteriscs he'll have, but I do know that we all get bllind sided where the object of our affections is concerned... I advise WAIT... nifty little acronym I learned.... ~W~hat ~A~m ~I~ ~T~hinking.... WAIT.... if you're not sure, WAIT and figure it out. Just because your emotions are tellig you somthing and you libido agrees don't make him "the One".... Your emotions and libido can lie to you, and tell you you love somone... and worst case senario it could be down right dangerous... I'm not saying he, is, i'm sure he's a phenomanal man, but WAIT untill you're sure....
I've gotten that kick in the gut feeling where everythig is great and wonderful and WOW.... and he is SO bad for me.... and i STILL get those feelings, even now... but i WAIT.... and i find out that what he can provide me isn't equal to what he'll take from me...
WAITing isn't to say that you should never let go, just becareful when you do.... it's like checking to see if there are rocks in the water before you dive off the cliff...
Say it with me........ WAIT

I agree with Sherri.... oppisites attract, and the universe requires balance.... if you throw out negative engery you have a surplus of positive engery so more negative energy will come to you to restore balance.... There you go, the basis of my belife system in a nut shell
when i decided I was going to be a positive person angels in the heavens didn't sing or anything, but my life has been SO much more enjoyable since then.

OMG! i'm soooo in!
I went mini golfing with POFers on Vancouver Island, I had SOO much fun! me and Misseyes kicked butt! and we had fun rules too! if your ball hit another player's ball you had to kiss that other player.... if your ball went off the course you had to finnish that hole without your shirt, if you got a hole in one you had to do a jello shot..... it was a tonne of fun! we got the course after hours in the dark during the summer.... great times!

My little brother had ADHD..... and i don't deny that he was excitable and "unmangable" before the drugs, and when he took them he was alot easier to get along with, but he hated taking them! he didn't like how dopey they made him feel. In the end he just learned to behave himself, and i sincerly belive that that's what all the adhd and add kids need to learn.... I don't deny that it actually exists as a chemical imbalance, but it's not somthing that needs to be drugged down, it's somthing that need to be accpted and worked around.

wow, we've just hit on one of my BIGGEST pet peeves.... i'm not going to speel of anything nearly as eloquent as what's already been stated, but seriously people! we have TWO and ONLY two officail languages and if you don't try to learn at least one then you can't function here and i'll be damned if i'm going to bend over and learn amnderine to speak to you! if i wanted to do that i'd mve to china! I am so sick and bloody tired of trying to help people who refuse to even make a moderate attempt at using either language... ok my french is terrible, but i comprehend well. I appreciate that english is a very difficult language to learn, but TRY..... and i've had ppl get rude with me because i don't understand what they're trying to tell me in whatever language hey are speaking, it's so grusterating! and you're right, they do marginalize themselves too which compouns the issues...... ok well that's enough
ranting for me on this topic, i'm off to find other things tht grind my gears.

ok, being as i do fall in the age bracket of 18-24, i really feel i must contest the statment that our brains process differently and does not always make sence to adult. I am not contesting that this may or may not be true, rather that i don't bloody well matter if our brain process is differnt than an "adults". Guess what i am an adult, legaly responsible for my own actions. And if my brain works differently it doesn't make a henious (sp) crime like this more acceptable! These people need to be locked up for a good long time! I am sick and friggin tired of the slap on the wrist! Toe the line or go to jail!

so as of today I only have 2 shifts left at work.
I love my jobs but i've noticed i've spent alot more "illegal" time on the computer and not been nearly as productive? As I DO like my boss, I'm not activly being a pain in the butt, but i'm sure there are those of us who have.
"what are they going to do? Fire me?"
what have you done (or neglected to do) in those 2 weeks of notice?

i agree that couple-dom is established when others see it and note it....
btw guys, if we bring up the nerve to ask what the status is after 2 months of continous dating type activity, don't be terribly suprised to hit the curb if you give some vague answer like "we're evolving".... GAH! are or are not, that's all i wanted to know! if you don't care one way or another after 2 months, i'm wasting my time....

Not getting satisfied,,,,
Posted:
2/11/2007 6:45:48 AM
at a resteraunt, i've been known to draw the waitress's attention to somthing wrong with my food, it always comes off the bill. I don't get my nails done, but my haircuts are always nice, but i am very clear when i'm speaking to the stylist about what i want and what my needs are. If at the end there's somthing i want them to touch differently, i let them know and they fix it. Stylists can be wrecked by a negative client, they'll tell EVERYONE.
Truth be told, I normally get good service, but that's because people react well to being treated well. If you're calling your cell phone provider and screaming, you can be damn sure you're going to spend alot of time on hold. If you're reasonable and polite, then you're normally fixed as quickly as your problem can be.
When I ask to speak to managment, it's LITERALLY 99% of the time to leave a compliment.

lol it's funny the way we percive (sp) things. My Parent shave a couple of acres, i had a horse and a pet goat, some ewes and a ram. Every year we'd have a batch of lambs and i'd bith them and dock their tails and castrate the males and feed them and raise them and train them to be handled. We named them. There was Zip and Zap, Salt and Pepper. We'd get a couple of Pigs in the spring and raise them too. There was Better and Veronica, and naturally archie and Jughead. Same thing, feed and care for and gentle them to handling. this was all my job, barn yard mamals was my domain. And I'd care for them and train them to handling (no small amount of time spent) because a gentled animal used to being handled is easier to take to the butcher.
they were pets for 8 or 9 months.
then they were dinner.
Now, that being said, i wouldn't eat my dog, because i raise him with the intention of NOT eating him. The same way I would not have eaten my ewes or my ram. But it's all about perspective.

Well, i hate to say it, but research does need to be done. And being as I am drug free, I don't want to volunteer to be used in the testing.... and I don't want to see anyone i know who had the good sence to stay drug free to be used as subjects either..... so if we're going to study the drug use, and not going to inflict drugs upon the drug free populace, then who does that leave?
I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this story, but I DO think that only part of the truth made it into print.

grudges? you bet you a$$ i hold a grudge! but you have to REALLY screw up to get me to have an active grudge against you..... I think there are all of 3 people on this planet, tops, that i have a grudge on.... and each for what i feel are very valid reasons..... you don't hit me, you don't steal from me and get me evicted, and you sure as hell don't mess with my family!
past those 3, i can let minor things go and get over it, we're all human, we're all failiable.

wow, i'm glad you told me! I'm still in victoria and i havdn't heard a thing!
I wouldn't worry about it tho, I've been thru earthquakes, and i never even feel them.... we had a pretty big one in 2001 i was standing in the Uvic concert building about to preform and we got evacuated... all i felt was a little disorientations like i had gotten slightly dizzy.... apparently it was a pretty big quake tho.
should it actually, against all odds be THE BIG ONE.... remember the rules about triangles.... doorways are no good.... get down low to a wall... corners are better if you can get into one.... things fall away drom the wall... don't face windows or glass.... blah blah blah...... if you can, get under a table.... blah blah blah
I shouldn't blah blah blah.... but it's been drilled so many times here.... don't come out till a full 2 minutes have passsed, if there are any afterschoocks, start counting again.

Not a hope in hell! esspecially as it would likely make us Americans. Like said above, I'd fight tooth and fr*gging nail against losing even a scrap of our Country. If you have issues with out government, guess what, it's an open democracy, get involved and change things.... don't just go running off to sulk in the corner. And what about bc that you would be ostrasizing (sp) on the west coast?

Abortion...Pro or No??
Posted:

ok, i'm not responding to argue or get drawn into a long discussion, but are there not many MANY children all over the worl lookinf got loving parents? If "There are so many loving people who want children and can not" then by all means adopt the shildren already in existance that need loving parents.
I'm sorry, i just felt a little attacked reading that "A woman that could do such a thing has no buisness ever becoming a childs mother."
Granted this is a VERY personal belief in a VERY touchy subject.
I want children. I want children more than anything.
I want children born of love. Children I can look at everyday with love and devotion and never with regret or worse, resentment.
I didn't want 9 months of looking at my pregnant belly resenting and angry when I should have been healing.
I made my choice, I will stand by it.
I will have children one day.
Incidently, depending on the conditions, I DO however, agree with the idea of a rule of three abortions.
Aborton is not a form of birth control.

Somebody needs cheering up!

Ok, my funny story, I didn't do it, but hey, i get a kick out of it just thinking about it:
Bout 2 yers ago my parents and brother were all spending the summer in Calgary (while i staed home and tended the animals) and one weekend they went camping, pretty normal. On the way back from camping as they were packing my mom caught one of my brothers writing in the dust in the tail gate and gave him a dressing dow because it would scratch the paint. My Brothers stopped writing on the tail gate. So they're driving home and pull into a Tim Hortons, and BAM there are cops ALL around them, surrounding the truck, guns drawn, everything, responding to a kidnapping. On the glass canopy door over the tailgate my brothers had writen "Help, we've been kidnapped". Officer taps on my mom's window and asks her "are these your kids?" to which she responds "yeah, do you want them?"
Apparently there had been an amber alert put out and everything, and there was a road block further up the road they were going along.
At the time, my brothers were 17 1/2 and 15.
Old enough to know better.
Still to young to care.

Abortion...Pro or No??
Posted:

wow, i never thought i'd be on the side of pro choice.... in my world, i always belived that life was life and unless there were medical reasons to terminate a pregnancy that it should not be done. I value life, and while i'm not saying that those who choose abortion do not, i could not fathom having that spark of life within you and giving it up, save in the most dier of circumstances.
But that changed for me. I turned into the perverbial rape case that concieved.
It was the hardest thing I've ever done, to terrminate that pregnancy. It went against my personal beliefs, and against everything I thought I'd do in that situation. But, under the same circumstances, I'd do it again in a heart beat.
That "child" was concived out of fear and violence. I could not have raised a child born out of such negativity. As the "child" was not viable, could not have survived out of my body at that point, in my mind, I have come to think that that "child" did not yet truley exist.....
I know I'm just stirring the pot up.
I could not have carried the "child" to term and given it up. It would have broken my heart everyday.
Just my 2 bits, for that they're worth.

I've been in a new job for the past 8 months, and i've been learning alot..... i had thought i was a pretty decent human being all together.... but my boss is a phenominal woman and has taught me to give people the benefit of the doubt.... at ALL times.... even when creepy drunks come into the store she's polite and sweet when she asks them to leave and invites them to come back again.....
Once I started learning to treat people well, my life has gone from ok to great.... people respond to me alot better.... and karma is real and great.....

yeah, i need to find smoewhere to learn to 2-step in calgary..... somewhere good..... lord knows i've tried, but for some reason i can't figure it out.... the closest i ever came was a buddy grabing me at a party and leading to forcibly he was practically throwing me around.... tho i'm so bad at it, i probably needed to be thrown.....
but i really really want to learn, and at one point i could pick up dances pretty quick.... i just gave up when i couldn't master the 2 step.... time to get back in the saddle.

Opinions Please

no ofence to the friend or whatever, but the idea feels wrong to me
therefore it is wrong (to me)
if he were related or somthing, that would be a different story, i would have no reservations at all about leaving my (preverbial) children with my brothers. But i would not leave my children with a male friend... and i have many, all of whom are sweet, caring, wonderful men. Tey might babysit for a night or whatever, but not an extended amount of time...

i don't know about LOVE at first sight.... but a true and real connection? hell yes... been there a couple times, and it's the most real thing i've felt..... not saying it can't be fooled or wrong eve (hence why i don't belive it could be LOVE)..... but there is no denying that *THWANG* like a guitar string pulled too far... and it's not just lust, it's not just appearance based...
lust at first dight, oh that definitally exists....
