Fist fight? Hardly. I mean, if it comes to that point, she's probably done something wrong and isn't worth having anymore. Fighting in a figurative sense to keep them? I've faught for what I believe to be love in the past, trying to convince them of a stupid mistake. Obviously to no good. I gave up when I remembered that old saying, "A wise man already knows, and a fool won't listen."

Some do it for attention. For that reason, I sometimes just stay away from them, even though I used to be 'goth' myself at one point in my teenage years.

JUST happened to me too. Ironically it happened 3 years ago as well, almost within the same week! I keep thinking that maybe it's some kinda curse. Like maybe in my past life (hypothetically), I was a player or something, and this is my punishment. They aquire my love, and then just dump me for someone else (with the ever so elaborate ruse that is). I know the feeling you speak of too. The feeling that makes all the memories bittersweet. Makes you feel like you can't even get up. You're hungry but you can't eat, because the thought of it makes you sick. The thought of moving on isn't also exactly accepted either, but if you don't, you'll die with it. Don't let it sweat you. Maybe it's the search and the poor experiences that makes us REALLY appreciate the one who is willing to love us back in the end!

I wouldn't just give up yet. There's bound to be someone out there who appreciates you. Thing is not to expect it right away. It's a hard search, and you may never find it. But, once you're sure, give it a shot.

NO, isolation certainly doesn't help. I recently underwent a heartbreak, and trust me, that will only madden you. The best thing you can do is find something to do to occupy your mind. Surround yourself with friends, and just focus on enjoying your life. Afterall, you only live once. Isolation will grant you only a longer bleeding period. Too much bloodletting is not a good thing. While acceptable to grieve, it's best to just move on. Hope it works out for you. I feel your pain.

Be who you are. If you try and change yourself, then you aren't truely being yourself. It's best to let everyone know up front how you are, and the right guy will come along that does like you for who YOU are, NOT for who you are trying to be.

Some guys are just prone to 'gold diggers' as they call them. I know what you are talking about, but I don't do it myself anymore. I used to for a girl I REALLY liked, then she left with a friend to some other state, without saying goodbye or anything. Anymore, I'm not so niave.

Mary, I apologize for what I said that was harsh in that other thread. It was insensitive and cold. I'm glad to hear you are doing better, and hope things continue to get better. I'm going to the gym and eating healthy. It's not THAT hard to lose weight, and it's healthy in general too. It's all personal preferance though. edit: to answer the initial question, no.

I used to be. Even to the point of complete and total shyness to go up and talk to a girl I found attractive. Now I just don't care. Why? Think about it. You cross about a half dozen new faces a day, and even if 6 shoot you down for 6 days, and 5 shoot you down on the 7th, your odds are higher than if you never approached in the first place. It's easy to talk to anyone. Walk up, smile, and say hello. Thats all there is to it. If you get shot down, oh well, no use crying over spilt milk... Lotsa friendly people out there in thier own little shells or own little world. Wake them up with a new friendship won't you?

Video games should be a hobby, not a lifestyle. To that end, if you don't like video games, and they tick you off even seeing them on, don't date someone who is into video games. It's the same principle as if you hate sailboat builders (models), and you date someone who is into that, you're either asking him/her to change thier hobby which they enjoy, or find someone else. It's really unfair to take away something someone enjoys. Get involved with them while they are doing it. If they are playing Everquest, make a new character with them, and play together. If they are playing Unreal tournament 2004, log on and blow thier brains out and laugh at them, right before they have a playful retort and splatter you all over the place. It's healthy venting of every day stress, and can sometimes be a mental challenge as well. Again, I'll restate that you shouldn't let it consume you though. It's not healthy to play games for hours upon hours. 2 hours TOPS, just like watching a movie, then it's time to go outside and get some fresh air. People that play games so much that they stop bathing, eating, ect. ect. Yeah, call a therapist. Cause whoever that is, has some real issues.

Video games should be reguarded like television in a relationship. It's the same thing except you are participating/typing/ect. That being said, it's unhealthy to sit and watch TV for an extended period of time. So, it's also unhealthy to sit on the computer for a long period of time. I used to play Everquest a whole lot, and I only did so to cloud out the recent heartbreak I underwent. Take my mind off it. Well, as time passed, I started becoming outdoorsy again. Anyhow, if it comes to the point your mate never gets affection, and your children aren't being raised by anyone but themselves, it's time to turn it off. You'd be suprised how fun it is just tossing a ball with your son, or playing barbies with your girl. Those are moments more precious than some video game. I don't have kids personally, but if I did, my video game time would go to almost nothing. Key is, to limit yourself. Games like Everquest are time involved, and often pull you into it. For every hour you play it, you should spend around 2-3 hours doing something active or with your family. Trust me, you'll thank yourself later for it. I know I have.

Just like watching TV, only mentally stimulating... rather than, numbing. Anyhow, I didn't get where you picked up that he was looking for a guy. I didn't see it anyway. While partially right, it's hard/impossible to meet women playing video games, don't let people tell you to stop doing something you enjoy.... unless it's drugs or sex with hookers.... then you might wanna listen.
