KIPPEPS - Kids in Parents; Pockets Eroding Parents Savings

I moved out at 16, but the brief time between leaving school and moving out i paid my mum £40 a week rent (or £20 if i was there less then 3 nights a week). I never grumbled and i certainly did my share of the chores.
My friends who still live with their parents annoy me with their ****ing about having to help around the house etc, I'm like they think its bad now, wait until they get their own place and have to everything, they wont know what hit them.

Rob I know it isn't spelt with an E
Just wondered how long it would be before some picky person would correct me.
Seems I didn't have to wait that long for it.
People seem to revel in other peoples mistakes, common practice these days jumping over other to make oneself feel good

Maybe instead of a support group, a website of information about different job sites.
Cv and covering letter help etc
I just think it would be more constructive then people sitting around getting depressed

Is Apprenticeships good or bad for current/future job markets?
Posted:
2/4/2009 10:32:02 PM
Because, yes its cheaper to employ apprentices but you also need skilled workers to teach the apprentices. Plus in IT for example, its not much use to the company if its full of apprentices and someone rings up with a complaint that they have no training for. Plus even though its cheaper to employ an apprentice the time it takes to train them is months if not years in some trades so for most employers its more efficent to employ an already trained worker
Apprenticeships have been the way of the world for hundreds of years, its how people learn trades, i dont think it are a bad thing. Some people choose apprenticeships because its on the job training, and employers do not need to wait 5 or 6 years for uni graduates who they then have to pay a higher way for and still offer some training to.

Unlike everyone else i would say STAY AWAY FROM ELC. They are extremely expensive and you could prob get twice as much at boot sales/poundland and other nik-nak shops for less then you would pay in ELC for one thing
I often buy stuff like this for my daughter, we goto This Is It. Not sure how common those shops are but usually each town has something like it

My daughters 4 and i have never recieved a penny.
Altho the CSA screwed me over, He wanted a DNA test (his way of prolonging not paying) which was fine, the CSA set it up, we both went together to get it done and the CSA cancelled it, no reason given and they then refused to allow another one. Private test being £300+ and the CSA wouldnt accept any of the pnes we suggested means i was screwed.

Question for the men
Posted:

Personally i would wait until the babys born before you start dating as no matter what people say having a baby changes you and you attitude towards other people. Myself was in a relationship whilst i was pregnant. After i had my daughter i came to see that almost everyone around me seemed very immature, including my bf so we didnt last long
just a word of warning
take care and congratulations

Have just about finished reading the trilogy and the couldnt missed more out of the film if they just ran opening titles and credits.
Also hope they dont make the other 2 books as there is no way they could do the books justice, even if they made 10 films

Violent Women

There's something out of kilter about this. Is this guy really just a friend? What did they do about baby sitting on the night in question? Why would a possessive woman persuade her partner to go out?
There's no excuse for violence but I can't help but feel that this is not the full story.
Yes he is just a friend, not sure why you think otherwise?
From what i understand she left the baby asleep in the house when she went outside i think her sister was inside though not 100% on that, they live on the quay so the canal is practically outside their door.
As for why she said he could go, i have no idea. I dont understand how or why she does what she does. Im not posessive nor manipulative so i dont know how her mind works,

Income support vs childcare payments?
Ok for single child familys, i think that the government would pay out more per/month for childcare costs + WTC and possibly still helping with HB and CT then they would for income support.

Strange Christmas present requests.
Posted:

Tip for men on buying women clothing:
Either check the label on her clothes before you buy anything
or
Find a sales assistant who looks about the same size and ask for help.
Sales assistant " What size is she"
You "about your size"
sales assistant picks out a size, you put it back and get one size smaller.
shes going to be flattered if you thinks she is smaller then she is but not if you think she is bigger then she is
hope that makes sense

I insist on my daughter using manners, she know that if she cant be bothered to say please and thank you then i cant be bothered to give her what she wants. If a tantrum follows she has to sit in one spot for quiet time until she apologises.
Havent had to do this many times.
She is very well mannered and now mostly always says please and thank you...now my boyfriend on the other hand..... is a pain in the arse

Posted:

I was 17 when I became a single mum, worked , the lot. Depression raised its ugly head but then its alot of pressure on one person.
4 yrs on I have a beautiful daughter, a new loving partner(not living with me...my choice)...finances are still tight but always expected them to be.
What im saying is it does get better, remember the little things that count. Treasure the moments that make you smile and recall them when things get bad

IVF FOR PRISONERS!!!
Posted:
11/25/2008 2:38:27 AM
http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/news/article-508003/Convicts-allowed-IVF-treatment-jail.html
Prisoners should be allowed conjugal visits and IVF treatment to help them have children while behind bars, a new report claims.
Academics claim that helping prisoners to become parents during their sentences will assist their rehabilitation, as well as respecting their human rights - and those of their partners - to raise a family.
The call follows a landmark legal defeat for the Government last month in which the European Court of Human Rights ruled that it was unlawful to stop jailed murderer Kirk****on donating sperm for his wife to use in IVF treatment as it breached their right to marry and raise a family.
To me this is disgusting seeming how many tax paying non-criminals area rationed IVF.

Latin Terms Banned By Councils !!
Posted:

Well if they start doing away with other languages that are incoperated into our own we are screwed:
English has been called a Germanic language with a Romance vocabulary. Estimates of native words (derived from Old English) in English range from 20%–33%, with the rest made up of foreign borrowings. A large number of these borrowings are Latinate, coming directly from Latin, from Latin through one of the Romance languages (French, Italian, Portuguese, Catalan, Occitan, or Spanish) or from some other language (such as Greek) into Latin and then into English.

I might do anything overly strenuous but i do have a soon to be 4 yr old that tires me out, I do find that I usually get tired between 5 and 8 pm, but its not convenient for me to go sleep that early as 1. My daughter doesnt go bed until 7 and 2. I find if i go sleep to early i end up waking up at stupid o'clock in the morning unable to return to sleep, think a trip to the doctors may be a good idea
