Long hair on older women Posted: 7/31/2007 9:46:35 AM | I am 48 years old and have had very long hair almost my whole life ( cut it only 3 or 4 times in my life) I am getting sick of people (usually woman, no offense) telling me I am too old to wear my hair long. Where is it written that at a certain age a woman has to have short hair, and if it is written, who the heck wrote it and why?
I do not ever use blow dryer, curling irons, etc on my hair, just wash, condition when needed, air dry and go. I do wear it up in the summer months, but like other responses I see here, it keeps me warm in the winter and I feel sexy when I feel it on my shoulders or tickling my lower back.
I think if you want long hair, go ahead. If it takes time to care for it because of it's length then that comes with the territory ( although I take no more time that my short haired friends) I do not think age should have anything to do with it, as long as you keep it clean and neat who cares...it is a personal choice. So, as for me, I will have long locks when they lay me to rest!!
