ABC News scrambles to downplay Obama’s attendance at VP debate moderator’s wedding
President Barack Obama was a guest at the 1991 wedding of ABC senior foreign correspondent and vice presidential debate moderator Martha Raddatz, The Daily Caller has learned. Obama and groom Julius Genachowski, whom Obama would later tap to head the Federal Communications Commission, were Harvard Law School classmates at the time and members of the Harvard Law Review.
After TheDC made preliminary inquiries Monday to confirm Obama’s attendance at the wedding, ABC leaked a pre-emptive statement to news outlets including Politico and The Daily Beast Tuesday, revealing what may have been internal network pressure felt just days before Raddatz was scheduled to moderate the one and only vice-presidential debate Thursday night.
Both Politico and The Daily Beast jumped to ABC and Raddatz’s defense. The Huffington Post, a liberal news outlet, joined them shortly thereafter, while calling “unusual” ABC’s attempt to kill the story before it gained wide circulation.
Genachowski — called “Jay” at the time of his wedding, sources told TheDC — and Raddatz would go on to have a son together before their divorce in 1997. They have both since remarried to other people.
A source who attended the 1991 wedding told TheDC that Obama was also a guest there, and remembered that a man by the name of “Barry Obama” was among the guests dancing at the reception.
(RELATED: Marital, personal ties link Obama administration to Commission on Presidential Debates)
In August, The Daily Caller first connected Genachowski, an Obama appointee, to Raddatz following her selection as the vice presidential debate moderator by the left-leaning Commission on Presidential Debates. That debate, between Congressman Paul Ryan and Vice President Joe Biden, will take place Thursday night at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.
Carol Platt Liebau, a political commentator who was a Harvard Law Review colleague of Genachowski and Obama, wrote that “despite being a year below both men on the Review and not close personal friends with either of them,” she remembered Genachowski and Raddatz’s relationship as “quite public” during those days, and that “Raddatz visited Boston frequently.”
Genachowski’s friendship with Obama would continue through the campaign trail in 2008 and into the White House: He aggressively fundraised for Obama in 2008 as a campaign bundler, and served on the presidential transition team before winning his appointment to chair the FCC.

Entertainment Twitter Explodes After Black Actress Endorses Romney as ‘Only Choice for Your Future'
Posted: 10/9/2012 1:07:52 PM
Wow. Great post. And here I thought I'd see nothing but lambasting for stirring the pot a little to vigorously. Thanks.
I'll be returning to re read it in more depth.
And not to take away from it I've experienced the same -
will literally suddenly have a look on their face as if I took their first-born child...I kid you not.
...at a concert for a liberal superstar in a pure liberal town when approached to sign a petition to save the redwoods.
I was looked at exactly the same way when I politely declined (I just wanted to watch the music).
Of course the left will believe that now I want to clear cut all old growth redwoods. I was there for the music not to be exploited.
The point being -
Liberals feel their positions are so much more superior to anyone else that they cannot believe you would take an ulterior viewpoint and if you do you are obviously nothing more than a brainwashed follower with no individual thought.

If the Supreme Court overruled Roe tomorrow, nothing would prevent all fifty states from making abortion legal.
Bingo!
And ... it will have been voted on by the people for the people (soooo very important for as dividing a topic as it is) and good riddance to all the single issue voters.
We've had 2 years of Republican power after R v. Wade in 1973 then 8 years of Reagan then 12 years of the Bush's.
So -
22 years of republican presidency since and y'all have been able to obtain as many abortions as desired ever since and you will for as long as you wish ever after.
What a farce of an issue.

For instance there are no posters on here from the state where I live 4000 miles west (1 or 2 sporadically at best). Many other posters are married.
Such people SHOULD put up a quirky profile, why mislead when they are here for 4rums only?

Entertainment Twitter Explodes After Black Actress Endorses Romney as ‘Only Choice for Your Future'
Posted: 10/8/2012 5:42:40 PM
Actress Stacey Dash, who has starred in everything from the 90's hit Clueless to CSI, prompted a firestorm on Twitter after publicly endorsing Republican nominee Mitt Romney, and then standing by her opinion.
“Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney,” Dash wrote on her official Twitter page, accompanied by a photo of herself with an American flag.
Not long after, presumed Obama supporters began insulting Dash for her opinion, saying she isn’t “black” enough, several even asking if the actress would just “kill herself.”
One man wrote: “This hurts but you a Romney lover and you slutting yourself to the white man only proves why no black man married u @REALStaceyDash.”
As news of Dash’s treatment spread, however, First Amendment-lovers nationwide began voicing their support for the actress using the hashtag #ISupportStaceyDash.
Twitchy captured some of the worst responses to Dash’s Romney endorsement (content warning):

Why would you worry about it? Unless...........
Just one more in the monolithic list of examples of leftists desire to permanently silence people who they disagree with.
In this case don't bother reporting him for what he said, let's everyone go after his profile for we all know everyone else is perfectly honest, serious and straightforward about their own.

What a bizarre place that would be.
Tell ya what, why not try reading the comments at the end of political stories, from different people. These are not the talking heads of either MSNBC or FOX, these are the actual voters. They say almost entirely "Mitt is a liar"!
I would think they most certainly do. On the sites you would be inclined to visit, absolutely. Speaks volumes there pal.

That may well be my point and perhaps why they bowed out.
Emphasizing individual achievement sure does go against the whole team cohesion.
Not that he won't be ultimately be trying to win too, but mentally and bringing karma and such into it it seems to be
some major grandstanding for one man's statistical prowess in the midst of an 0'fer season.

President Obama lost to a technique known as the Gish Gallop.
And the liberals are using the technique known as the Grasping at Straws.
First it was because of the mediator.
Then it was because of the altitude.
Nope. Now it's because of the Gish Gallop which is the b.s. du juor making the rounds
all over
the liberal blogs like the Democratic Underground and Daily Kos.

Yeah oil companies don't want any upgrade that a new refinery could offer.
One that was built in the early 1980's, the last one built, is sufficient enough for production in the years 2012 and beyond.
Why would anyone think that in 27 years there would be any advances at all in engineering and technology to improve cost and labor effectiveness? Idiots. Our antiquated refineries are all good well into the second half of this century. No worries mate.

I guess all the usual suspects of liberal persuasion decided to be no shows on this thread when their dude is an obvious loser and they can only blame the mediator. The next thing you know they'll be blaming the air. Oh wait.....
"Former presidential hopeful and environmentalist Al Gore is coming to President Barack Obama's defense and blaming Denver's high altitude for the president's dismal debate performance.
By most accounts, Obama lost the first presidential debate, held Wednesday night at the University of Denver in Colorado, to Republican nominee Mitt Romney. Pundits said "he choked," and some went so far as to question whether his performance will cost him the election. Many noted Obama's unorthodox demeanor. Chris Matthews asked, "Where was Obama tonight?!"
Still, Gore does not think Obama should be to blame for his lackluster debate. He thinks it may have been the altitude. During a post-debate analysis on Current TV, Gore went out on a limb and questioned if Denver's environment had something to do with the president's flop."

Yupp, the liberals are going to come in here saying Obama rocked
Not even Micheal Moore is saying that.
I haven't watched the dabate yet but it sounds as though there is still hope for Americans.
Here are some of what Moore said at
http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2012/oct/4/picket-michael-moore-obama-what-happens-when-u-pic/
Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore was disappointed with President Barack Obama's performance at the first debate at the University of Denver on Wednesday night and, he made his views known on Twitter to his followers over one million one hundred thousand followers. Moore was also angry with PBS debate moderator Jim Lehrer, saying that
this next one a personal favorite
"[Clint] Eastwood's chair would do a better job moderating..."
"Get This Obama spoke FOUR minutes longer than Romney did tonight! Didn't feel that way, did it? That sorta says it all."
Moore re-tweeted: "If Romney keeps this up...Obama is going to vote for him!"
"This is what happen when u pick John Kerry as your debate coach."

Perfect Moment to rid us of Limbaugh
Posted: 9/29/2012 1:53:08 PM
So Tell me..why are there no left wing radio shows with his popularity or listeners?
Simple. Liberals require images to tug the heart strings of their audience to exacerbate
their hidden agendas. Who will ever get that image of the crying naked (Cambodian?) girl running down the street from the early 70's out of their mind? And who even remembers the commentary to that? It doesn't matter everyone's sympathies naturally go with the grieving child.
Another example of the power of images are these commercials to get money for suffering dogs using "sensitive" celebrities like Sarah McLaughlin. Friends of mine see the dogs as being in a torturous situation and tell me I must be cognizant of the issue and get up off my money and give give give.
What I see are are a bunch of healthy dogs caught in a moment when they have a sad face in a setting behind jail and cage like bars collecting union wages for their masters.
The absence of successful liberal radio shows proves their ideals cannot be conveyed by words alone. They need ulterior sensory indulgences to enhance and skew the emotions of the targeted listener to reach their desired outcome and fulfill an agenda.

Well that last game served a purpose. It shook
everybody
up.
NFL confirms new deal between league, officials is done.
As it turned out, the NFL's nightmare scenario -- a team losing a game it should have won -- was all it took for the league and the NFL Referees' Association to get back to the bargaining table and wrap up a new deal. Negotiations picked up momentum after the Seattle Seahawks beat the Green Bay Packers, 14-12, on Monday Night Football on a touchdown catch by Seattle receiver Golden Tate that was highly questionable.
"That game reshaped everything ... it shook me. I think it shook a lot of people," one NFL owner told Mike Freeman of CBS Sports.
According to several reports from many sources, the two sides have agreed to the details of a multi-year collective bargaining agreement that will bring the real officials back from their lockout and on the field for Thursday night's game between the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.

The US government and their willing accomplices in the media are using the movie producer as a scapegoat.
The attack on the US embassy was a long planned event to take place, which it did, on the anniversary of 9/11/.
The timing of the movie was a coincidence and the US is blaming it to distract from the failed
international policies of Obama since the election is only weeks away.

You mean besides Finnegan, one of the leagues most notorious instigators. smacking Morgan in the head right in front of the ref? Stupid penalty, definitely. No reason, not so much..
Blalah, they say that the hand is quicker than the eye and it seems that Courtland Finnigan was a bit too quick and too subtle for your eye on that play. Watch the play again, and this time, watch as Morgan goes to get up, follow Finnigan's right hand as he hits Morgan's facemask with the palm of his right hand and puts his fingers inside Morgan's facemask touching or coming very close to touching Morgan's nose and eyes!
Finnigan is a master at instigating and aggitating!
I'll take you guys word on it. I'd still say it was more to do with what went on during the entire game than that one play and the quote he wasn't going to let it get to him and to melt down on that play at the worst time but I can relate. You can see little things going on at end of plays in many games. I guess it's gonna come down to how close to going D!ck Butkus on the runner players want to come.

Defenses are tuning into what they can and can't get away with. The reason Alex Smith's nose was bleeding was he took a hammer of a forearm to the face after the play that wasn't called. This could get ugly fast.

There was nothing illegal on that play.
The plays leading up to that play no doubt is what caused the over reaction but he was quoted days before saying I can't let it get under my skin. So much for following your own advice.

You heard it here first.
Tomorrow's Bear's/Packer's game ends with a draw.
I wonder what the Vegas odds are on that.

Pickled Asparagus

Plenty of canners and preservers in this forum wondering if anyone has done these.
Seems like using raw asparagus and water bath it for 15 minutes is the way to go with a dill weed base.
All I know they're great with bloody marys.

Jason Elam is one of the 63 club. One season I went to all U. Hawaii games and he missed his first and last kicks and made every one in between. A season to behold. One of the best all time. Many would say I'm picking on the Stump and that he deserved the the shoe advantage because of his disability.
As for Smith most Bay Area fans knew he figured it out a long time ago and just hasn't received mainstream east north and south focusing media respect much like the SF Giants took the country by storm 2 years ago and won the World Series with players the rest of the nation had never heard of like Buster Posey, Cody Ross, and Tim "The Freak" Lincecum.
I tried to find the Karras thing. Sounds like he almost made the block.
