Should prostitution be legal?
Posted:
9/21/2009 8:01:42 PM
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Prostitution should be legal, safe, sane, consentual, taxed, monitored and healthy. FFS people, no one cares what others do with their own bodies. Consentual is the operative word here. Animals don't consent, children don't consent, you get the gist.
Thanks 'Allthings' for getting the thread back on track. ~
.....I'm with you on the legalization issue. Why is it, that people think it is necessary to pry into other people's private lives and insure they are not exposed to (what they consider to be), immoral temptation? I thought we lived in a 'Free Country' ! Prostitution, as you have defined above, is certainly not infringing upon anyone's rights ! ~

CA Orange County - Duvall spanking lobbyists?
Posted:

The health care reform brouhaha helps distract the spotlight from the massive deficit the president and congress on piling onto and the resultant economic sluggishness. And the lapdog, journalism-free media is selling the headfake to the masses.
~~~> Thanks M.D.
Given the current state of affairs with our Country and the Federal Government, worrying about Mike Duvall, California State Assemblyman, promiscuous behavior, reminds me of people complaining about the BBQ meat being too well done, while Rome burns ! Good Lord, we have much bigger fish to fry than having the News Media waste Newsprint on what I consider to be a back page News story, when they should be focused on issues that will affect all Americans for decades to come and the economic well being of our Country. It's the old story, sensationalism, sex and scandal sells newspapers. Besides, I don't think todays journalists have the intellectual capacity to comprehend some of the more complex National issues that face us today.........
Matchless, you left out Bikers, Rednecks, and a lot of military guys (Marines just love 'em!).
Hey Old Folkie, you are behind on the times. It was about last year, this time, that the Marine Corp passed a regulation that Marines can no longer get tattoos that show, when they have their regular uniforms or dress uniforms on. I think these grossly large multicolored tattoos probably prompted that regulation to be issued. I've seen young men and women, here in SOCal, wearing tank tops, with those hideously large multicolored engravings, all over their upper body. I'm here to tell you they look revolting, in my opinion. I can't begin to imagine what motivates people to disfigure themselves to that extent ! ~
.....An Eagle or a Rose, with your girl friends name on your shoulder is one thing, but when the coloration and size of the Tattoos get so large you almost can't tell what race the person is, without looking at their face, things are out of hand in my estimation ! ~
Alluring dress with hard-eyed looks ... what does a woman mean?
With about 80% of single women in greater L.A. considering themselves "liberal," I could almost just pick at random and be right.
Right you are one that point Match, you can also include a lot of young married women in that category. I think it has something to do with the 'Mothering' instinct. They believe in Nannyism at all levels, including the State and Federal Government. Frankly, it turns my stomach ! But that's what got our current leader elected, unfortunately. ~
Zoo Supporter?
"You are a Zoo supporter, and I would not be interested in people who support animal cruelty." [/ quote]
My initial reaction is "Smoke Screen" ! ~
There is something else going on with her and she is avoiding a direct confrontation over the issue. Brings to mind an experience I had some years ago, with a woman who I took to a Zoo, just for the pleasure of spending sometime together. Everyone always ends up visiting the Gorillas and of course the Monkey Farm. She became very offended and upset when I started laughing and pointing out a few that were playing with themselves and others who were picking fleas or crabs off their fellow inmates and eating them. We ended up leaving the Zoo over the issue and I'm still wondering today why she became so upset. I thought that was the reason people went to the Zoo, was to watch the animals and enjoy watching their creature habits. Hell, I play with myself, but I passed on eating the crabs ~
Surely you jest Christy ! ~
........Or per chance, have you been locked in the basement like Cinderella, but have a 'computer' ! ~
........I thought dating was similar to riding a bicycle, once the task is learned, the skill is never lost. ~
......However there is some desirable knowledge, one must acquire about bicycles, if you desire a smooth ride. Don't pick one with a flat tire, make sure the chain is well oiled and properly tensioned. And for goodness sakes, don't pick one with loose handle bars or a bum seat ! ~
.......Then of course there is always the debate about 'Fat' tired bicycles verse 'Skinny' tired Bikes. ~
....My suggestion would be go for the 'High' end bikes, that are equipped with a 'shift' level feature, so you can adjust the effort you wish to put into the ride ! ~
.......Believe me, I can't believe there are not a multitude of Bike riders out there, that would be more than willing to go riding with you ! ~
........ I can't imagine anyone who would not be willing to help you select the right bike and adjust your seat for a pleasant ride ~
What is your definition of snuggle?
Posted:
8/31/2009 12:08:20 AM
-------
--------
--------
The above posts prove that men confuse snuggling with foreplay!
Nobody has defined it better than the Captain did back on page 1!!
Snuggle, cuddle, same thing. It is being as close to a person as physically possible without having sex. It is a bonding of bodies and souls, spooning without groping. It is so loving that all you want to do is just feel the beat of their heart and the blood rushing through their bodies. Magic
Good grief, I don't care what you care to refer to it as, but if I'm entwined with a woman, as described above, you can bet I don't have enough skin left to even blink my eyes ! At that point, I'm certainly ready to "feel the beat of her heart and the blood rushing through her body", with my stethoscope ! ~
"occasionally" CAN mean only a pack a day!
Christy ~
~ believe me you are 'hooked', when you smoke a pack a day ! The
question I have, ( being an ex heavy smoker of cigars, which I inhaled ) is with all the medical aids they have today, to wean you off of the drug nicotine and the high $ cost of smoking, why haven't you taken the initiative to stop. Personally, I can't believe more people have not stopped, based upon the cost alone, forgetting about the health issues ! It wasn't hard for me to make the decision, after a heart attack and a quad bypass. ~
I prefer to just take people at face value. If they want to play games forget it. I really don't want that dynamic in a relationship, so it's a perfect filter for me.
Thanks Gogetter, I think you and I see eye to eye on this issue. I have read all the entries on this thread and I'm amazed at the dynamics that seem to exist today, as opposed to the days I was out sniffing in the woods.
Why can't people just be themselves ? Is it the difference in the surrounds that make people act stilted, strange, unpleasant or outright insulting ? If you happen to encounter a woman in the Super Market, Hardware store, Flea Market, etc. and strike up a friendly conversation, there never seems to be any tension or unexpected premonitions. So, I suspect it must have something to do with the individuals intent for being at a Bar or a Night Club, dressed to the nines !
So I suspect some of this attitude I have been reading about here, has a lot to do with the level and activity of the 'hormones' ! Seems a shame that men and women can't mix, with due respect for each others feelings, regardless of their surrounds and intent.
Being polite and considerate of other people's feelings seems to me to be a basic necessity for anyone, hoping to engage another individual in friendly conversation. In my opinion, only 'Movie Stars' and 'Hookers' have the right to be impolite ! ~
It doesn't have to be about finding someone to begin a relationship with, it's about friendship. We don't all have the same views, be from the same local area, but a good time can be.
I'm with you Barbe, providing of course I can locate on the Right hand side of the street, in a Right hand Hotel, with a Right hand room, equipped with a Right hand Bed and Shower and offering good Right hand food and beverages ! ~
I can't think of a nicer place to waste time and money than the Carmel and Monterey area. But, I also agree that it would be wise to hold off, until this Fall, when all the tourists have gone home.
I'm with you Allthings. I had no idea what the subject was about, "Burning Man", but the more I read the less interested I became !
I guess everyone does their own thing in life, but frankly I got all the Desert environment anyone would ever want in the Middle East Oil Fields. Believe me, they had to pay me handsomely to be there and I damn sure would never do it again. I can't imagine anyone paying anything to gain entrance into that type of an environment ! If they enjoy that sort of thing,
, they should submit their employment applications to Exxon, Chevron, Haliburton or Bechtel ! ~
Well, that's fine, as long as it doesn't dominate the evening and/or create an awkward situation. I have been complemented by Ladies, that said they enjoyed the interchange I have had with a waitress, during the course of a meal. Their comment was that I had a good sense of humor and that I showed a high level of respect for the person that was serving us. ( I've always been that way. ) I've also been known to speak to strangers, unexpectedly, if I see a chance to interject some humor and/or help with a problem. Should a man carry one's take out box and where does a man walk (beside or in back of a woman). Should hats (if worn) be taken off in public places? Should a man just open a door...or should he also close it as well?
Yes to the 'Box' question, normally a man walks to the side of the Lady protecting her from traffic and/or possible water splash, in the event it's raining. Only 'Hillbilly's' wear hats in an eating establishment. You can bet, if he is wearing a Ball Cap, with the bill turned backwards, you are not about to be taken to a 4 Star restaurant ! ~
Yes, of course you open and close the door for the Lady, you even help her with the seat belt, before closing the door. Eeemm, sometimes that can be a very gratifying experience. ~
What if anything is expected of us, women?
Showing and/or expressing simple appreciation and a warm thank you for a lovely meal and evening, is usually sufficient, in most cases.
I well remember the Women's Lib movement, back in the 70's ! ~
I held open an office door for a couple of young Ladies, that were directly behind me and one of the Ladies looked at me and told me they were quite capable of opening the door themselves and I was displaying typical male chauvinistic chararteristics. ~
....Frankly, the comment was so off the wall and unexpected, that I think I just shrugged and went on about my business. ~
Thankfully, the women's Lib movement finally achieved their objectives and/or the movement went 'south', when that nitwit Carter was shown the door ! ~
I see you as a beautiful woman who should be respected and cherished. I think almost everyone on this forum sees you the same way. However, I don't think you see this in yourself. Before you start a relationship, you might want to consider getting over some insecurities, self-esteem issues and the like. His behavior is deplorable, but he doesn't need to change - you do. And when you do, you'll see that it doesn't occur to you to spend time or energy on people who don't uplift and support everything you are and want to be. Explore who you are, and find out what wonderful things you deserve.
Laughsohard, I just wanted to stop and complement you on a very astute and sincere post ! Very well said, in a few number of words. Hugmekissmeloveme, I think Laughsohard has sumed up the situation perfectly. Frankly, I don't think the man deserves your companionship or company. That's true Janet, but I don't wish to meet and dine with someone, who is a screaming Liberal or someone that chews people up on line and spits them out like hamburger stew. Therefore, I think it is prudent to watch and feel people out, over a period of time, to insure there is a possiblity of a lasting friendship to the meeting. hap, you don't know what a hookah is????
Well I do now, although I wasn't familiar with that name or the term 'Hooki'. ~
In Turkey, they are known as 'Nargile' and in Saudi as 'Shisha' and in other parts of the World as 'Hubly Bubbly' pipes. I've smoked them in many of the Middle Eastern Countries and Africa. I can't say that I'm a fond 'user' of the device, as I didn't enjoy the taste of the thick, strong, fruit scented tobacco that they use in the water pipes. I usually got roped into participating in a 'Group' smoke, in local social gatherings. As they say, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do." So I was polite and learned how to participate and to never point the mouth piece at the person I was passing the pipe to. It is considered part of a social dinner Party gathering, where the men move to the 'Smoke' room, while the woman move to another room, for social chit chat.
I don't imagine that Streetracer or the younger American generation realize the history behind the Water Pipe. I also wonder what they might be trying to smoke in them. For some reason, I doubt that it is the Turkish blend of tobacco, normally utilized by the rest of the civilized World. ~
Humm, lets see, Viet Nam, a couple of plane crashes, one I was in and one that almost hit me, Heart attack quad bypass, two nasty car accidents, a couple of serious construction site accidents. Nothing lately, thank God. ~
I don't spend a lot of time thinking about them. But hey, I'm as old as a Red Wood Tree, you young people have a lot of experiences to look forward to ! ~
Who stated 'equal' distribution of monies above???
That was Golfcoast
Haplucky you have the formula for equal distribution of wealth?
He didn't read my post or understand it. I said Conservatives support and promote the unequal distribution of wealth, while Socialists support and promote the equal distribution of poverty. In other words we Conservatives support a 'Capitalistic' society, where everyone pulls their own weight. The problem that has arisen today is too many people do now want to take personal responsibility for their actions and their own well being . They want a 'Nanny Government' to step in and blow their noses and wipe their a$$es !!! When that happens, individual freedoms and self initiative start to disappear. ~
Hell Skoochie, you had the habit licked at four months. What the hell did you go back to them for ? The first two to three weeks was the real 'gut' buster for me. Once I made it over that period, it was a BREEZE ! ~ <img src=http://www.plentyoffish.com/smiles/icon_201.gif border=0> ~
So now I am cursed and will never to find a man who will treat me as well as the last. Oh, hum...
Ahh come now Ms MermaidSari, you sound like you are forming a fatalistic viewpoint about this issue ! ~
.....I think a person ends up being treated the way they set themselves up to be treated ! If you want to be treated like a 'Duchess' then you act like a 'Duchess'. People with any common sense, will recognize this quality and dignity, that you emanate and treat you accordingly or decide you are not their 'cup of tea'. The quality that I find most fascinating in the opposite sex is their ability to be a 'Lady' during the day and a 'Woman' by night ! The more 'Kinky', the better ! ~
Sadly its a huge deal for a lot of people.
I'm always reminded of the principle difference between a 'Liberal' and a 'Conservative'. ~
~ A Conservative supports and promotes the unequal distribution of wealth, while a Liberal supports and promotes the equal distribution of poverty ! ~
.....Look who's in office and what he is promoting ! ~
I was in the pub yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to fart. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my farts with the beat.
I tried that in the Super Market the other day, where the music wasn't so loud, and the Stock Boy told me that toilet tissue was located on aisle 8. ~
I guess this would only start working for a man or a woman, who has turned at least 36 years of age. Otherwise, you would be looking at windows with bars on them ! ~
At least now people know they have to ask very specific questions of "non-smokers" to get the real scoop.
You know P.W., there are a lot of people out there who put down 'Smokers' and rant about health issues concerning smoking and they are dyed in the wool 'pot heads'. I've never been able to figure out why they think sucking on a 'Joint' is any different than sucking on a tobacco cigarette ! No amount of discussion or simple logic will alter their views on this. Finally, I just chalked it up to their drug addiction. So, as far as I'm concerned, they are 'Smokers' in addition to being 'drug users'. ~
If someone says they're a non-smoker when they are, thats a dealbreaker for me.
Well if I had a nickel for every Cigar I smoked in my life, I could help Congress out with the Nation's $ Stimulus package ! However I stopped that habit, after a heart attack and a quad bypass about 12 or 13 years ago !
I don't know how anyone could lie about being a non-smoker, because your cloths and breath normally reek of the smell of smoke, to a non-smoker. So, unless you have on freshly washed or dry cleaned clothes, have scrubed your mouth & tongue, as well as used lots of mouth wash, you are not going to be fooling anyone with a story, that's a non-smoker. ~
I might add, the interior of a smoker's car also smells like a coal mine ! ~
I'd have to like someone a whole lot, to put with a 'Smoker' in a close encounter. ~
Does the person best able to interact with machines win?
Well, when you are the size of a short armed gorilla and have size 13 fingers, trying to type on a cell phone pad makes about as much sense as a woman trying to pee into a urinal ! The reason I carry a Cell phone is so I can talk to people. I'll do my texting on a PC with a full size keyboard, thank you. I was laughing about the guy saying the woman would not accept his phone calls and only wanted to text. Maybe it was because the woman was not a woman and would have had to answer the phone with their natural baritone voice ! ~
~ This text messaging non-sense is for teenie boppers in my view. I guess also, if you are a hillybilly and/or talk like a hillbilly ~
Mz Taken, ~
~ this thread reminds me of the song that was playing on the radio, as I was pulling into the driveway tonight. "Please release me, let me go" ....."you'd be a fool to cling to me now", etc. That song was popular back in the days when people were still polite to each other ! ~
Buttonwillow ... another is Weedpatch!
I see the Buttonwillow Exit, along the I-5 Freeway, everytime I drive North to the Bay Area. Always wondered what Buttonwillow had to offer. Rather a quaint name for a town. I'm sure the Ladies in Buttonwillow are just as sweet & nice as the Ladies in San Francisco and you probably don't need to worry about what their sexual preferences are , as opposed to the Bay area ! ~
How about you bring yourself down here and go to Hodad's in OB. Burgers to die for AND a killer mound of onion rings. Add to that, a chocolate milkshake. Na na na!
Yeah, but I bet you don't get that for $2.99 ! Hell, I didn't know you could get a Cheese burger & fries any more, for less than $6 ~
....With In & Out Burgers, just down the road and Brea's Best Hamburgers a couple of miles away, it's doubtful I'm going to drive to Visalia for a Cheese Burger, even if they are $2.99 ! ~
How to meet people in LA, other then a bar or club?
Posted:
7/28/2009 11:07:28 PM
Any suggestions?
Well, having been a traveler, most of my working life, I have spent my share of time in Laundry Mats. A lot of women made the point of meeting men, in Laundry Mats, because that is where they know they will find unattached men. Hell, a lot of these women have their own washing machines and dryers at home. Now, I don't think you are going to meet any raging beauties or 19 to 24 year olds in the Laundry Mats. But there are a lot of middle aged women, who are divorced and/or windowed, that don't like hanging out in Bars and Night Clubs to meet men. You might want to consider that, as a possible source of meeting the Ladies, in a casual atmosphere ! ~
