Another chance to be positive about men!
Posted:

Men. Delicious, wonderful, demanding, delightful, intriguing, insecure, complicated, emotional, phyisical Men.
This is a complicated interesting question. So many ladies have already listed reasons for loving men...(penises, watching them shave, etc, etc)
Sharing jokes and experiences ("remember when?"s), feeling safe in his arms / around him, trying to get him to laugh and trying to find his ticklish spots, stealing his pillow...
The body heat, holding hands, secret / shy / big / smirky smiles, kisses in the morning, man-humour, masculine fashion, deep voices, watching a guy fix something (anything!), aggrivating, stubborn, companionship, someone to argue with (then *sleep* with), caresses...oh the list could go on and on and on...

Why are women so hung up on a mans height?
Posted:
10/20/2007 1:15:17 PM
I am comfortable with guys who are about my height and taller - (I'm 5'6") but will admit to being not so comfortable with guys who are 5 ft and shorter.
Although I have dated some shorter guys, I always found it unnerving when they had to look up to me when we are walking, or me leaning down for a kiss.
That being said, I have friends who prefer shorter men, and a couple have married guys significantly shorter than they are. I think it is all about the attitude they carry and their personalities....

How agressive do women get when they see there ex with a new girl?
Posted:
9/21/2007 1:20:58 PM
I'm actually alright with seeing the ex with a new girlfriend! Just because we didn't work out for one reason or another doesn't mean I don't want him to be happy, healthy and able to love another!
And, I would expect him to be happy for me! I figure every relationship is a chance to learn something new about yourself, discover something new and connect with another person. Whether it be for a month or 4 years, I am grateful for the men who have loved me.

Sleeping alone
Posted:
9/21/2007 10:06:54 AM
I leave the radio on in the other room because sometimes I wake at 2 in the morning and wish I could hear someone else's breath beside me, making the darkness seem less overwhelming.
On cold winter nights when I turn up the electric blanket instead of having arms wrap around me.
My bed is overloaded with pillows so it feels like my bed isn't massive.
The ways we try to trick ourselves....

Have you really ever felt really lonely?
Posted:
9/21/2007 9:50:00 AM
I have a great life/friends/job/home – My life is full of all kinds of adventures but wow, when that lonely feeling hits…
Especially around my friends...I am the single in the crowd. I feel the loneliness in the pit of my stomach when I see one of their "secret" smiles, a hand at the small of her back, holding hands under the table or catching one of the couples sneaking a kiss in a darkened hallway...
When hearing about their frustrations in their relationships, then the sigh, half smile & giggle before the "Yeah, he drives me crazy" comment...because all I get to do is listen and feel jealous.
Sometimes I wake at 2 in the morning and wish I could hear someone else's breath beside me, making the darkness seem less overwhelming.
On cold winter nights when I turn up the electric blanket instead of having arms wrap around me.
When taking a bubble bath with candles and a glass of wine – no one is sitting on the edge of the tub telling me how gorgeous I look in bubbles.
Coming home to a blinking light on the answering machine and not one message is a “just because I am thinking of you” call.
My life may be full of adventure/friends/family, etc…but it is the simple everyday things that make me feel that loneliness seep in.

Helping an Ex-wife in need. How far is too far??
Posted:
9/21/2007 7:31:35 AM
Turn your lights off. Close the drapes, hell, change the locks if you have to.
Stay away from the whole situation. It is trouble all the way.
It will start as platonic - but it will end up that she needs to talk to someone who once loved her, needs to re-assert her feminism, wants to remember what it was like being a desirable woman, a wanted, wonderful woman.
Next thing you know - a bottle of tequila, a chick flick, power outage and candles - something will get the/a relationship started again. And you will be in the middle of her 2nd divorce. Not a good thing.
Good luck. Any decision you make is a difficult one.

Have you ever acted dumber to attract a male of interest ?
Posted:
9/21/2007 7:23:50 AM
Lol! No - not to a man I am interested in...
BUT
I have acted dumb when buying a car, looking for a discount on car repairs, repairmen, speeding ticket (only works on the male cops! lol) etc. Gotta love the men's response to "protecting" a young lady like me!
I know it is dreadful! I have a great brain! But sometimes a girl just has to play...
Sorry gents.

Please review my profile

Beautiful baby girl! One picture (if any) would be good - there is only one picture of you and it isn't very clear.
I agree with other postings that some of the things you say are relatively negative. Instead of focussing on what you don't want, focus on what you want AND what you deserve - a fabulous man, a great relationship and happiness for you and your little lady.
The resume idea is not necessary - just "talk" like you are on a first date and your personality is going to shine through.
Good luck and have fun!

HONEST Review of your profile here...

HooHoodilly
Which pic is yours - and which is most current? Main pic is good (lots of men forget to smile - it was nice to see yours!) What is with the (interesting) animal pics? They don't have anything to do with you do ditch 'em!
Thanks for the quotes from the Tao of Pooh - but I would reather know a little more about you and what you are looking for in a woman.
I laughed out loud at your profession...
I don't get your headline - kind of confusing, and the headline is what grabs my attention when fishing through the list. Make those ladies stop with a unique headline (that doesn' make you go hmmmm?)
Good luck fishing and have fun!

Do women actually email men on here....
Posted:
9/20/2007 12:34:00 PM
Yes, I have emailed - for interest and "just because".
Sometimes just to say how much I enjoyed their profile - and no strings attached. I think that sometimes just sending out a compliment (without expecting a response) can be a good thing.

Oh my gawd! I laughed out loud at the question.
Then I stopped. I am the only woman in my office. At any given time that is what the boys are doing?
Oh my gawd! I didn't need to know. Seriously.

Hey Matt
I read your profile, glad there were pictures but where is the smile? Your job sounds interesting...but I would rather learn about you then your job. And I agree with the above posting - the headline is harsh. Go for humour...at least that is what catches my eye!
Great detail on the first date!
Good luck fishing!

Do you have any interests? What type of lady are you looking for? Why do you like to go to California?
Give up some details!
(But I liked the pics and your headline!)

How does this profile look

Good profile - but I agree with the above comment...what are you looking for? A fun loving girl is one thing, but do you want fun-loving party type, fun loving outdoorsy, etc etc.
Love your headline!

I barely read your profile because there wasn;t anything positive about your review request. I tried anyways - for 2 lines, read something about bimbos and left.
As a single woman I am looking for a positive guy, who has interests, passions and is open to new ideas.
Read your profile from an outsider's view - would you want to email you?

" taken for granted (Don't trust any air that you can't see!) and the absence of traffic are still getting me."
I laughed out loud at that one - I'm a country girl in the big city and see it the other way.
Anyways, loved the profile, agree with the other comments about the pic - and nice bike, but is it necessary? I would rather see more pictures of you!
Good luck on your search.

Hey! I couldn't read your profile because all the words bleed together... Try putting some spaces between the sentences...
Maybe create a paragraph or two.
Try to keep the negativity out of your profile. When I am looking at a guy's profile, as soon as he mentions something about "braindead", head games, etc I leave their profile. Postive works.
Photos? Please smile! I know you have one of those mischievous smiles - please show it off! And instead of having similar photos, change them up!
Good look with your fishing!

Best break-up lines

My favourite "freedom" lines...
It's between you and the cat.
Here's your dinner, the dishes are done, the laundry is clean and your favourite ice cream is in the freezer. By the way, I am moving out.
You make me bitter.

are women leery of guys over 30 who have never been married?
Posted:
4/16/2007 7:38:48 PM
There was a study done a few years ago (I read wierd things) that said that (some)couples that get married in their twenties are in "starter marriages". Due to the divorce rates (usually within 2-5 years of the marriage, and generally before one spouse hits 30), these marriages are similar to common-law relationships - but with a wedding dress.
Kudos to you for not getting into a starter marriage - and really waiting to find out who you are before finding "The One"
