Thank you for the thought, kinshi. I have found being a mom is a great reward in itself, as I had many years of thinking it would never happen. My mom's not physically here anymore, but lives on in my heart. Mom's rock the world!

Stories of a past loved one letting you know they are OK
Posted:
12/13/2008 10:48:32 PM
My mom died last year. Dad and I made the decision to take her off life support, after talking with my sisters who were on their way up from Kentucky, as there was no chance she'd ever have a quality life again. I was with her when they took her off the machines and dad and I waited around for awhile, but the doc said it could be hours, days or weeks. She crossed 15 minutes after we left. That made me feel very guilty about leaving and not being there when she crossed over. When my boys got home from school, we had just walked in the house and I said to my oldest son, "Maybe gramma waited for us to leave before she would..." and the next second a stained-glass heart-shaped suncatcher fell off my kitchen window into the sink. I truly believe that was my mom letting me know that was it exactly.

Bigfish's own words, "because it’s 100% FREE – there are no charges, ever" don't exactly ring true anymore. Personally, I'd not buy a $4 virtual beer when I can send one using points. Quite honestly, I'd not spend $$$ on a virtual anything!

Consciously having an idea or thought and holding it in your mind is the process which will tend to attract and create that form on the material plane. "As you sow, so shall you reap." We attract into our lives whatever we think about most, believe in most strongly, expect on the deepest level, and imagine most vividly.

What do you think about people who have psychics' readings?
Posted:
10/2/2007 5:37:22 PM
I had a telephone conversation with psychic John Edward on the Larry King Live show a few years back. My grandfather was coming through. John picked up on several things that I could not validate until talking to my mom afterward. In answer to the question...people who have psychic readings understand that there's more to life than what meets the eye.

Wisconsin

Hello from the Northwoods of Wisconsin. I am located north of the Tension Zone. There are woods, thousands of lakes and beaches. This is a vacation destination for many city folks who just want to watch the sunset over a crystal-clear lake, hear the cry of the loon, smell a roaring campfire, watch the eagles soaring far above, gaze at the stars, breathe in fresh air. There are no nightclubs, just friendly neighborhood taverns, where you can shoot pool or play darts while enjoying your favorite beverage. Every restaurant serves the classic Friday Night fish fry. The closest mall is a 2-hour drive. There are no gang-bangers, carjackings, muggers.
There are hiking/biking trails. Sylvania Wilderness Area is right down the road, where no motorized boats are allowed, and you can see virgin timber reaching far into the sky. Also down the road is the Cisco Chain of 15 lakes, and half an hour south the 28-lake Eagle River Chain. The U.P. of Michigan is also close by, home of many beautiful waterfalls.
If it's the excitement of city life that draws you, this is not the place to come. If a little peace and solitude is what you're hoping for, the northwoods of Wisconsin is just the ticket.
Where ever you visit in this fine state, or the whole fine country, for that matter...hope you enjoy your stay!

I may be aging myself with this answer, but I wish I still had my Beatles dolls. Unlike Ken's plastic do, they had hair, and came with a plastic guitar (or drum for Ringo). My mom sold them in a garage sale...I understand they are worth big bucks nowdays!

Widowed father, two little boys... wouldn't mind some advice...
Posted:
5/28/2007 9:19:12 AM
To Peter and everyone here who has lost their love...my condolences. My husband crossed two Christmases ago in a snowmobile accident, and my two sons and I never got to say goodbye. I am grateful he went so swiftly and did not suffer. My heart goes out to those who have had to see their sweetheart go through the trauma and pain of a slow crossing.
I have no advice, as everyone deals with the pain of losing their mate differently. I just have my own experience to speak from, and for me, keeping things as normal as possible was my focus. The first year is definitely the worst, but it does get easier as time goes by.
Be strong for the boys, things will fall into place when the time is right.

When you lose your spouse to death
Posted:
4/26/2007 8:02:53 PM
My husband of 30 years died tragically early Christmas morning two years ago. He was racing with my stepson across a lake on a snowmobile and hit a tree overhanging the lake. My mom and I were in Kentucky to visit my sisters and so mom could meet her 2-month-old great-grandson. Had to travel 15 hours Christmas Day to get home to my two boys, who were 11 and 14 at the time. I finally went to bed (about 2 a.m. the next day) and was laying there weeping and holding his driver's license when I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I looked up at the ceiling, and a shadow (caused by a light hanging over my bed) in the corner of the ceiling was pulsing and strobing and swirling. I know that was him letting me know that his energy survived the shedding of his body.
With much support from my family I was able to get through it, and having two sons to be strong for helped immensely. I have tried to keep their lives as normal as possible after the tragedy of losing their dad so early in life.

Sylvia gets a big one wrong
Posted:
4/25/2007 8:10:49 PM
I really am moved to relate my experience with John Edward after reading these posts. I had the good luck to get through to John on the Larry King Show several years ago. He told me of a father-figure who was coming through, and gave me several msgs. which I had no clue about until afterward when I phoned my mom and she validated the things John told me about my grandpa (her father), who is the spirit that hangs around watching over our family.
My mother crossed over just last week. I was with her when they took her off life support and within 15-20 minutes after Dad and I left, she died. I was feeling very guilty for not sticking around another half hour. When my boys got home from school I was telling them about their grandma passing away, and how badly I felt that I was not there for her. But then I said that maybe she was waiting for us to leave in order for her to leave, and the second those words came out of my mouth, a heart-shaped stained-glass suncatcher fell off my kitchen window and into the sink. I know in my heart she was telling me that was exactly the case, she did not want me to have to go through that. And I also am certain that when I cross she will be right there to welcome me home.

I have lived in the North Woods for 29 years. I love the woods and am glad to be raising my boys in such a place. There is not a whole lot of opportunity to meet singles in this area, however. I am not much on bar hopping, but I do enjoy stopping in my local neighborhood tavern on weekends to have a few****ails and shoot some pool.
