tattoos a turn on ? or turn off ?

depends on what they are, on females if they are something meaningful and done well then they are lovely. a friend has "surrender to nothing, I am finally free" on her arm and it looks amazing and so meaningful

some can look cheap and tacky, depends on the design and artist. Dont have any myself only because I suffer from psoriasis otherwise I would have them

Men/Women in Leather...

For me i have yet to see a lady that doesnt suit a well fitted leather, doesnt matter the age or size of a lady a well made leather coat or jacket makes you look attractive. What i dislike is the cheap leather look jackets that the young un's wear, sorry if it cost less than £100 then it will look cheap

Hillsborough - 15th April 1989

the truth was always known, it is just sad it has taken over 23 years for it to come out. i was at rugby park kilmarnock that day and the silence during the 2nd half was apparent. to think so many football fans could go to a match and not come home was bad enough but all the deciet and lies over the last 23 years must have been unbearble for those close to the victims

god bless

Crazy Drivers
Posted: 11/1/2012 1:30:38 PM
starting to sound older than i am here but anyway, as I have got older and the hair went grey the driving standards as a whole have gone downhill, the worst are the repmobiles as these folk like to overtake fresh air on the motorways and indicators are an optional extra on their cars, as for getting a "cheers mate" flash of the indicators after letting one in... forget it. Truckies and in particular truckies from the bigger companies are the gents of the road, give them a bit of space and they say thanks, now with fuel being the cost it is I have found by sitting in the hole in the air behind a truck at 56 I can get really good fuel economy on a long run so where is the rush, if I am going on a long run what is 30 minutes over a hundred miles.

aye slow and steady wins the race, rather get there in 1 piece as opposed to not at all

never heard the saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, would say that 80% of the female's profile pics on here are a turn off, low cut dresses, tattoos showing and caked in makeup. I would rather see a natural curvy lass. I dont have anything against tattoos but they should be for the person not for everyone to see

Asexuality?

come on the norm whether you are straight/gay/bi is to be shagging like rabbits on viagra, dare to be different and you will get the strange comments. Asexuality is still to be accepted the way the LGBT community was 20 years ago, fact is like LGBT aces have been about for years in one way or another, my feelings havent changed since I went through puberty (that wasnt yesterday lol) I though I was a freak because I didnt want sex, more I think about it my feelings are perfectly normal... I am what i am and I am bloody proud of that, if anyone has a problem then tough

wee bit of advice hon, sexuals dont understand aces end of story, yes I have a libido, yes my wee friend downstairs does awaken now and again but no he has one purpose in life and it is a sole purpose ;)

for you my advise would be to live your life the way you want to not because of what the norm is, if you want kids by artificial insemination then go for it, you dont need a man in your life if you dont want one, besides cats and teddy bears give far better cuddles than your average man anyway and a teddy bear never breaks wind in bed ;)

out of interest is your aven username the same as on here??

coming out is great fun, for friends and family that have the interweb then fine point in direction of AVEN, for those not on the web it does take a fair bit of explaining plus with you being pretty young it will take some more so good luck. I know for me some think I am just in denial and when i find "the right lass" everything will be okay, I could find the woman of my dreams but it still wont go any further than a kiss and cuddle

also folk confuse asexuality with celibacy, celibacy is a choice, ace isnt, it is how you are

sleighr, you dont have to explain yourself to anyone, if you are happy and content being ace then that si all that matters

was funny was having a good chat to my best mate last night, have known him over 20 years and he is legally my next of kin but in terms of us being more different, he screws for scotland and if sex drive was a sport he would probably earn a gold medal then there's me who's attitude is meh. as I said well kiddo you are doing my share of the planet's shagging for me lol. we are all different, it is what makes the world the place it is

i am just happy to know what I am and totally content in that, ace and proud

in a lot of ways you are so lucky finding out who you really are at 21, I spent until a few months ago wondering what the hell was wrong with me, why i wouldnt/couldnt have sex, i loved the kisses, cuddles and holding hands bit but the idea of sex repulsed me. I found AVEN by the weirdest possible way, an onld mate had posted some photos on his personal website so of course I clicked on his homepage to see what he had been up to and there was a link to AVEN, when I started reading the site content I actually cried, it was just knowing that I wasnt a freak and there was others like me.

I met a lass from AVEN yesterday and it was great, knowing there was no pressure about trying to chat each other up we could just enjoy each other's company and it was great spending time with someone that had the same feelings as me. Seriously check out the meetup bit on AVEN, there is bound to be a meet near you.. meantime have some virtual cake ;)

Asexuality?

i'm asexual and proud of it, always knew I was a bit different as when mates used to go out and do the whole pissed and laid thing it just didnt interest me. was in a relationship for about a year but it broke up partially due to the fact I wouldnt have full sex with my partner (she actually thought I was gay). I was close to a nervous breakdown a few months ago caused by a few other things and decided it was time for the truth, so I came out to myself and admitted it then i told the ex as I wanted to be honest before coming out on facebook to friends etc

there is a wonderful network called AVEN (asexuality visibility and education network) and it helped me a lot, actually met a girl from there yesterday a kind of blind date and it was great, just knowing with a fellow ace then there wouldnt be any pressure. I am the type that still loves kisses and cuddles but the idea of exchanging body fluids repulses me. it is who and what I am and if anyone has a problem then tough

being tall is just so overrated, cant get clothes to fit, banging head on doors and everywhere else, cant do a long stint driving cos you get cramp, buying shoes off the shelf is a big no no, it is a major PITA

i'm 6'4" with size 14 feet btw, wish I was 6' with size 11's

Why do you want a partner
Posted: 7/15/2012 1:21:33 PM
companionship, gets a bit boring going for a meal with mates etc. I admit sex is not a big part in a relationship for me, what is important is loyalty, trust and honesty. I do like my own space and the last relationship I was in I got suffocated as me and the ex spent 2 nights apart when I was on leave in 4 months, I got i was longing to have the bed to myself again

do miss the kissing and cuddling bit though

confusion re, smoking vs non smoking....
Posted: 6/13/2012 6:53:34 AM
my ex was a non smoker and tbh it was a right pita, moaning about what i did in my house etc. have decided that I will only date and preferably get into a relationship with a smoker

the thing that really gets on my soapbox is how non smokers or even worse antis think that it is their right to voice off about what I choose to do, i dont tell them how to live their lives so what gives them the right to lecture me. i am an adult, it was my choice to start smoking and it is still my choice to continue. Climbs off soapbox

the ones that get me are the occasional smokers, WTF is that all about, surely you either smoke or you dont

there should also be another option for heavy smoker IE more than 20 a day

Would guys have a relationship with a girl who has a disability?
Posted: 6/11/2012 12:35:54 PM
personally it wouldnt bother me dating someone that is wheelchair bound as it is the person that counts not the disability. Then again my day job is a support worker and I have worked with disabled young adults.

for us guys being tall is a right PITA, ducking to avoid bashing head on doors etc, hard to get clothes, sleeping bags, cars, beds etc that fit. being tall means having big feet, I'm size 14 which means getting to choose shoes is a nightmare you buy what fits. Really wish I had stopped growing at 6'

still means I can hang curtains and paint ceilings without ladders lol

What piece of equipment upsets you most when it goes wrong?
Posted: 5/20/2012 11:28:07 AM
sprite, dont use any fast fit place, they are muppets that only know how to change a tyre, get a good local garage as nobilo says any fault on a car gets stored on the computer, local bert will plug in lappy and car tells bert what is wronng with it. Coils rarely go and there is usually once coil to each cylinder, a failed coil would give you a feeling of a constant misfire the car would kangaroo like a kangaroo on prozac

anyway what couldnt I live without.. my ickle teddy bear, been with me since I was a baby and he travels everywhere in my rucsac.. technology can be replaced as everything is backed up, cars are just tools but a bear is for life

changed a few tyres for folk in the pouring rain for randoms, wont see anyone standing at the side of the road with a problem (not unless I am in a mega rush). It is nice when the person holds a brolly above you though :-)

been 1st on scene at road traffic incidents a few times, then my race rescue training just kicks in and i start barking orders, almost got me the sack once when outside the office a twunt went the wrong way up a 1 way street into a head on and the suit I yelled "you get to the end of the effin road and stop anyone else coming down here", err he was the CEO of a very large bank... oops. Think was he was standing like a clueless twat and needed some direction, I did apologise when I found out who he was and we shook hands and congratulated me on leadership and taking control

Social Skills
Posted: 5/9/2012 1:04:08 PM
i think it depends a lot on the situation, in my day job I work with dementia sufferers which is tough and requires a lot of tact, in the weekend unpaid job I am often in stressful life or death situations which require great teamwork and leadership, I do change there as I have to be assertive and controlling but most importantly looking after my team and trusting them to look after me.

put me in a bar full of attractive ladies and I am as quiet as a mouse with no voice box, my self confidence just evaporates, probably why am on here lol, i just cant chat up a lass

for me life is about living, for 10 long years i chased a career, okay it got me good money but i had no life and even the nice car and caravan on the drive wasnt much consolation for being on the brink of a nervous breakdown. So i walked/ran away from my old life and now have a job I enjoy, time for my hobbies, still have the car and caravan. just need a nice lady to share it with me

Woman passes driving test after 27 years.
Posted: 4/23/2012 7:42:04 AM
agree with that post above, you see the kids hammering their corsas like there is no tomorrow or as we call them incidents looking for a callsign, perhaps if there was a 6 inch nail sticking out of the steering wheel instead of a airbag folk might drive more sensibly. When I learned i knew if i had an off the car would not save me so you learned car control, plus my instructor was a former rally driver and after my test she took me out and showed me how to drive on ice and slippery snow. that was in a 89 micra. Even now with the car having the safety gear I still drive the way I did then. my instructor also came out with a classic "al, you have passed your test, now learn to fecking drive". never a truer phrase spoken in jest

I still say that kids should do skid pan and track training, at least then they will be able to get it back if it goes wrong

still say there should be regular assessments on driving say every 5 years to ensure you are still safe, for the record I passed 20 years ago after 22 lessons and 2 tests, my biggest problem now is that after doing a bit of racing and rallying i tend to use every inch of the tarmack, which does tend to unnerve the passenger, my attitude is if I can see it is safe then it is. Funny most of my racer mates are the same

there is far too many folk that drive like farts in a trance and shouldnt be on the roads though

what are your views on the current hide tobacco products and future proposed regs
Posted: 4/15/2012 4:07:32 AM
I dont think it will make much difference, most smokers stay loyal to a certain brand, i know I havent switched brands in 10 years. It wont stop people from starting smoking as seeing a rack in a shop doesnt encourage folk to start, most folk start by a friend or family member offering them their 1st cigarette

smokers are the enemy as far as the government are concerned, yet we dont cause fights, we contribute greatly in tax and are generally far nicer folk than heavy drinkers
