Posted: 5/16/2008 9:31:54 AM I hope it takes a much shorter time for you, but for me, it took about six years after the divorce. It's been eight years now, and I love my time alone. If I want to be with someone I can, but if not, I answer to no one and do what I want to, all the time. Sounds selfish because it is, when you're not worried about someone elses moods, likes or dislikes, and can focus on you, things get easier. I would not recommend jumping into a relationship so you don't 'have' to be alone...learn to dig the solitude, it pays off.
