How to stop a runny nose?

the newer antihistamines (Claritin, Aerius, Reactine) won't give you the effect you are looking for unless your runny nose is from allergies. You will see a benefit if you use the older types of antihistamines (Chlortripolon being one of them).

How to stop a runny nose?

Try this

Dristan (or equivalent) - 3 sprays each nostril 3 times a day for three days (don't use it longer than 4 days)

Chlortripolon (find it in the allergy section) 4 mg in the morning, 4 in the afternoon, 8mg at bedtime (can make you a tiny bit drowsy - try it out and see)

If you are really congested inhaling steam and using saline spray (in the same type of bottles as the dristan spray) in addition will help - but it sounds like true congestion is not the main symptoms - more the runny part of it.

Vicks and similiar products are pretty much useless - they make your nerves experience a cooling sensation which tricks your mind into thinking the airways have opened up - they haven't. They do remind people of being sick as a child which can have a nostaglia effect...which is nice...but won't do much to help with any symptoms.

Hope that helps

West Coast Trail
Posted: 4/25/2007 10:58:06 PM
last season a friend and I did the west coast trail in one day (albeit a very sunny and relatively dry one).

we didnt run, we just had no tent and only a lunch to eat so without heavy packs we had a great exeperience (including stopping at the burger shack for burgers/stopping at the ferry for cold drinks/ and a good swim in the falls near the end of the day -we went south to north).

but I must say that standing spirit trip is extremely impressive....

doing the west coast trail (or any of the 4 trails along the west coast of Van Island) is always a great idea in my books. I've hiked along the WCT the standard way (7 days that time) and also the Juan du Fuca and the Nootka trail. When doing these trails preparation and not rushing yourself are way more important than backpacking experience. So anyone with the right attitude and desire to do them should really consider it.

I've heard that the trail got pretty devastated by the storms last year, hopefully with a bit of TLC it will be back in all its glory.

If you have any questions at all about hiking the coastal trails let me know, I love writing about this kind of stuff (rather than working)

what?

--"the amount of users on one's favorite list, with a picture posted or not, is not neccessarily a reflection of one's expertise in writing profiles"--

well having "expertise in writing profiles" is a bit tough to define....but if one were to try I am quite sure that the number of people listing you as a favourite, especially if it's not based on looks (as you said you didn't have a picture up and got listed as a favorite many times) would be the best indicator.......GTU have you any better way to determine if a profile is well written? Isn't the whole intention of the profile to make people interested? Do you think people are listing users as favourites for some other unknown reason?

garf - if users disagree with your thoughts or reviews they are certainly entitled to their views and the right to express them....but it would be much better for those of us that actually agree with what you have said - and appreciate the time you (and other profile reviewers) are putting in - for these people to not potentially discourage you by posting their rants on your review page.......a better use of their time might be to start their own profile review thread...

anyway, it's late so I am rambling....if you have time could you take a look at my profile and possibly make suggestions on where it could be improved? If you are too swamped don't sweat it...just wanted to post my own rant :)

is my profile intruiging?

good point kain, I think a small paragraph at the end (or maybe just adding a bit more before my last sentence) makes a lot of sense.

thanks for you time and input :)

is my profile intruiging?

just wondering if any of the helpful people reading these forums has any advice on how to improve my profile...

I am rather new to the online dating world...not sure if what I say in my profile is effective at conveying who I am....and does it do a good enough job at hinting at the type of person I would be attracted to...

I did my best to avoid the common vague statemets (ie: I am looking for someone honest...etc)

any comments?
Thanks in advance, I appreciate it
