I think neither is "more evil" personally. Both genders have ways of 'playing the game' evilly and vindictively.

How many reject Christ on the account of His followers?
Posted:
3/28/2005 2:16:41 PM
I read about fairies and dragons and the myths of the greeks, romans, saxons even so far as messo american myths such as el derado
El Dorado isn't an "american myth", it's a poem written by Edgar Allen Poe.
And it's about love.
BTW, good post RD. I think you have a valid point with this as far as representation that quite a few of the christian community project onto others. Whereas if it were done with love, by example, it may not provoke as many to shun it.

funny profile pics, screen names
Posted:

I think my nick is rather funny since it's a conglomeration of names. The first being from the movie "Dude Where's My Car?", the second one cuz I am a total and complete ass and love being one and the third from my family nickname.
I'm with sliv on what is really humorous in nicknames tho. Those get to me too, esp. when looking at the profile and realizing that it's NOT what the nick shows.
So far the funniest one I've seen is Jivin's. The entire profile just cracks me up!

WHY DO MEN DO THAT!
Posted:
3/26/2005 11:50:46 AM
Why is it when you post anything on sexual threads about what you like or dislike, suddenly your inbox is FULL of men making nasty comments, asking if you are horny, etc etc.?
I had this same thing happen about a week or so ago Tera. I didn't get it either. It just seems like they're playng troll, reading these forums then pounce! No reading of the person's profiles before they send out nasty e-mails or worse, try to IM you. So what'd I do? Quit posting in here since that happened.
Oh yeah, Rinny is my neice you all if you didn't know already.
She just left to go back to her home. *sobs*

It's always easy to focus on the negatives, but two years ago reporters could travel around in relative safety... now they can't leave Baghdad for fear of getting killed. Doesn't seem to be going well to me.
True enough that people are not yet free to travel as such. However, the negative hype by the media on how the voting went over there is off. Things are better in a lot of areas that people aren't informed about via the media and I'm hoping that they just steadily get better to where people can travel freer again.

schweetdoll: crass? tactless? unthinking? wrong. you think about it. read around. Many 'good' people want to have an ideal family: 2 loving parents modeling to their children what 'it' is all about. Most here want that, too. My selfish decision leaves my daughter growing up with a mom and dad that can't be 'civil'. A broken home. I do not regret having her. I do think about it plenty. I am trying to get full custody to shelter her from what I consider a bad environment. Not 'bad' enough though that I didn't 'go there' myself and now, here i am, with no Tact!
Your original post IS tactless. I did NOT say that what you were trying to do in regards to your daughter was. You've minced words.
Take a good look at your original post. I still stand by the fact that it was crass, tactless and unthinking. Downright NASTY in fact.
Maybe you should have put it differently if you had wanted opinions from others about your specific reasonings about why you chose your ex-partner the way you did. The fact remains that you did not, instead it looks like you out and out attacked.

I think the situation in Iraq is much, much brighter than the liberal media would have you or anyone else believe. They would never admit that they could have been wrong so you'll never really hear just how well it is going over there...
I hear about it daily seeinz how my husband works over there. It's going a lot better than is portrayed in the media so your statement is soooooooo very dead on Watch.
Glad to see someone saying something with some sense on this.

When is flirting taking too far
Posted:

For me, when flirting is taken too far it normally implies they've gone past the point of fun and politeness to crudity and pawing. That's the only time I have a problem with others flirting or even myself. I'm a major flirt too, but that's just it. _Flirt_!

Why do women bash each other?
Posted:
3/19/2005 12:42:11 PM
I dunno why they do Kristine. Me? I'm the one to point the skantily clad women out to my husband.
I enjoy beauty in all things, women, men, people, nature etc et al. And if a woman or a man wants to dress provocatively, so be it. It's their right to.
As far as people judging others on their sexuality or sexual relationships.. hey, it's really none of their business in the first place. If it's your "friends" you say are doing this, well it would seem to me that they're not your friends.
I've had the misfortune of having such "friendships" in the past. While I may have been gullible then and forgave them, when they did it again I got right up in their faces and told them what I thought about their supposed friendship.
Whether it's a male or female friend who does this, yes I've had both types do it, it just boils down to them not being a real friend. A real friend will tell you that they are concerned with what you're doing, is there some type of reason why etc etc. Not call you names and just be downright nasty though.
I say dump the chumps and move onto more positive, rewarding friendships. Just my 2 cents.

Scars
Posted:
3/18/2005 5:56:48 PM
This reminds me of a story I once read a loooong time ago.
A young man was showing people in his village his heart. How strong it was and how it was totally complete without a scar on it. People were Oooo'ing and Aaaah'ing over this and watching the young man.
There was an old man there who opened his robes and showed the people his heart. People gasped and even a few screamed because this old man had peices torn here and there on his heart.
The young man laughed and asked this man why he would be so proud to show off such a weakened heart.
The old man said to him, "What you may see as weakened I see as strength. For each peice that is missing is where I took a small peice from my heart and gave to another who needed it more and because I loved them. I don't find this as a weakness to give a bit of my heart to another when they need it, rather a strength and a blessing to be able to share my heart with others."
After hearing this, the young man took a peice of his heart and placed it on one of the spots where there was a missing peice on the old man's heart.
I know I didn't tell this exactly as it was written because it's been sooooo long ago that I'd read that... I hope you get the idea behind it though.

What happens if your partner puts on a great deal of weight

Weight gain (and loss) are often a physiological reaction to stress, especially stress from dysfunctional relationships. A normal reaction to an abnormal situation.

I _do_ happen to know about Freemasonry and also know quite a few in it. What you're spouting is bullsh*tfrom churches once they declared about a decade ago that Freemasonry was no longer part of the "christian" sect due to their symbologies used.
I still have YET to see you posting ANY references to these churches that do this. A "medium" isn't necessarily something FACTUAL either. *eyeroll* I know a lot of mediums and psychics and well, I've not ever heard anything from them as such and I DO live in the South. So get real and out of your delusional little world and use some LOGIC instead of propoganda.
Now you can go back to being a sheep.

ever wonder wtf are parents thinking soemtimes??
Posted:
3/18/2005 4:24:16 PM
Alura, I've seen this same type of thing with other people's children and have wondered a lot of these very same things. One time one of my g/f's was going on about it with a group of our friends about how they shouldn't have "family" restaurants due to parents not keeping their children in line. I got slightly offended cuz while I do have some issues with my children, all are very well mannered out in public. That's one they learn very very young with me as my mother did with us growing up. I find it appalling that there are those parents that let their children run amuck as such and I really don't blame the child at this point and I also don't have a problem saying something to the parent.
Another experience I had was a lady who was griping about a customer in the store I was shopping at. The gal had swatted her child on the butt because she kept pulling things off of the shelf. After she swatted her, she put her in the seat in the basket to further stop any more of that and told the child that if she tried getting out that she would be in trouble when they got home.
The cashier totally freaked out on her saying she was a bad parent for swatting the child and that she should call in CPS. I stuck my head in between them at this point and asked her, "Ok, would you rather the child continually make more work for the stockers here by pulling down merchandise and throwing it on the ground or the parent teach their child to NOT behave like that at all when she takes her to the store? If you feel that the child should behave as such, go ahead and call CPS down here and we can all tell them what we saw."
The cashier was 17 years old and did not have any children. She also didn't call CPS and the manager came over to see what was going on.
So there ya have it on that. Both sides of the coin. People get offended for people letting their children running amuck and then there are the ones that get offended if you reprimand children. Go figure. Good post though gal!

Name calling is never a good 'side-step', although when you don't have an argument I guess that really limits your responses.....
It's funny that you're into reversing the situation around. That's really a bad "debate" tactic and well, shows your ignorance. From an outside observer looking in this really points out that you can't back up things that you say.
If you had read any posts other than ones you pick and choose, you'd see I've made a point on where I stand.
And still, you have yet to respond accordingly to any posts directly asking you questions. This is side stepping. Not name calling.
I still stand by my opinion of you and find it, as many others have in other threads, useless to discuss or debate anything with you. Why? Becuase it's pointless when you have nothing logical to put forth into the discussion.
End of discussion.

Everyone probably knows someone who is a "Freemason", but how many of us know what is involved in Freemasonry , it's beliefs , aims , purpose and history? The establishment and the press , in the past , have endeavoured to portray the Freemasons as examples of upstanding citizens and respectable members of society.
Once again, I'll reiterate. I asked for links to these churches who hold Satanic rituals on Saturday nights. Not on Freemasons. I already know about Freemasons. They're not Satanists.

I haven't even metioned incest, your reply is noted though...
You didn't mention it but the posts prior to yours it's mentioned and is what was the discussion on the table was and what you were responding to. Just because you didn't "mention" it doesn't mean that it wasn't being talked about or it wasn't what the discussion is about.
Here's something to further point out on this as well. My sister about a decade ago was going to rallies because there were people being born with "webbed" feet and hands. I'm not sure of all of the exact details as I never looked fully into it at the time and at this moment haven't either. Her stance/opinion on this was that people who had this "deformity" would genetically pass it down to the next generation and it would also become worse so these people had no rights to procreate and should be sterilized.
I was actually appalled that she would want to take the rights of another away as far as procreation. As I've stated though, I've not fully researched this area and don't know all of the details as to how this would affect future generations etc. She did know however.
So Watchman, have you checked into the facts of what generations later will suffer due to incestuous pregnancies/births?

Late, I couldn't have said it better myself as I've gone through the same thing. Glad I read all of the posts before responding. Especially on the undermining. My gawd have I been through that one with one of my friends.
Mudbug, I recently had a similar situation with my 16yo about respecting boundaries. Sometimes extremes as such can help, yes. It's not something to do each and every time however. Say it happens again. The next time I would take it away and not give it back until he 'earned' it back.
One thing in this forum here that I've learned is there are a lot of views and ways of disciplining your children. Lots are very good, informative opinions and advice. Hope this helps you gal.

Looooooong time ago I had one and the rules were understood from the beginning. It was him who tried to make it permanent and I was the one to break it off. So yeah, _some_ women do realize what it is. Some get emotionally attached as it goes on. Why? Because they took it to mean more, they took it a step further within themselves.

my 11yo daughter reminds me of Thumbalina cuz she's soooo cute like her.
my 9yo son reminds me of Yu-Gi-Oh, acts like him a lot too.

Our Spring Break here begins tomorrow after they're out of school and it's only for a week. We're going to the park a lot, hit the beach and do craft projects together.
