I am a single parent and have been since I was pregnant. (left my husband and then discovered I was pregant, happy days). I have raised my daughter single handed for the past fifteen years. I have a full time career, my own house/s, my own money, my own food and my own mind. No I dont want a man to come into my life and provide for us, I can do that for myself. What I do however expect is respect from him that I do this single handed, can pay for myself on a night out and otherwise................I dont want a man who thinks he can help himslef to my time, my money and my daughters upbringing. Most men I meet however tend not to have what women have these days, i.e, their own job, car, house, independence and otherwise. Sad but true !

seriously i cant believe what i read here and the judgementation of others sat behind a flipping screen and think the world is in thier hands. ADHD is a MYTH.................I have a masters degree in psychology and forensic to define my point! I would say this.............................treat your three year old like a three year old, he is a BABY............treat him like one x

WOW, what a reply, well done. It is a refreshing change to see someone who supports anothers problem rather than critisising and being judgemental. I posted yesterday over my fifteen year old daughter, the post was removed, no one beleived me, however, I do have to say, one lady was very very helpful.

hey hun, i have been a single parent since the day i got pregnant with my daughter, i left my husband and then discovered i was pregnant. happy days.

Since i dont drink alcohol, I find this the most difficult, i.e. arranging a venue and such like. I would never want to go to dinner with someone who i find unattractive and thus I choose to meet them for coffee and such like. Where I live there are no starbucks, costas etc open after 5pm so I arrange to meet them in the local casino. this way, they have to have a membership, everthing is on cctv and its a good atmosphere.

I have done a lot of dating over the years and I find it good fun, the good, the bad and the ugly to boot !

Get used to the knockbacks, there are men on here who want or feel the right to have the thai woman with the perfect figure. (even when they are in thieir fifties with a bald head and beer gut). Just remember we are real, we are real women, stretch marks and all.

there will be men to whome promise you the world, they dont mean it ! honest lol

there will be men who you dont like but be polite............................ finish the coffee date, everone deserves that unless they have a fake profile pic.

The worst ever dates I have had are the one that turned up drunk............. the next the one who said he had no kids and then turned up in a people carrier with three baby seats in the back (i dont do other peoples children) and the RAF officer who took me to a ball, and I got drunk and messed it completly up.

Just be yourself and keep an open mind xxx

Being friends with someone that is attracted to you

I agree with this......it is virtually impossible. I have been friends with someone for two years, we shared our love and devotion for the same football team. I was clear from onset of us meeting that I could never offer anything more than my friendship for him. It became awful in the end; so much so that I have recently had to cancel my holiday with him............SO IF ANYONE IS FREE NEXT SATURDAY to come to Tenereife with me, all paid for, 5s star villa in a Golf Resort and swimming with Dolphins and you dont want to sleep with me unless I want to sleep with you also...........................then you must have a passport and your own spending money... the holiday is paid for no less !
