I hate the word 'sandwich'.
A scrumptious, moist and tender, succulent sandwich, complete with all the trimmings and fixin's. I keep an extra one in my fannypack for when I'm feeling sinfully decadent and splurgeful.

"free.grisoftweb.com I think that is avg free site."
If you have no other options, AVG is okay. If you have other options, use Norton/Symantec Anti Virus (no firewall necessary) in combination with Spybot and Spywareblaster and you'll never have any problems.
I have experimented with AVG and ended up with several minor trojans - although they were somewhat inconsequential and I have seen professional testing reports that showed AVG to be an excellent product (even the free version), my own personal experience did not even come close to the expectations raised by those studies.

The driver for the video card could be missing or corrupted - video drivers are critical and commonly cause fatal boot errors. In IT work, you must be meticulous - change something, see if it works, if not change it back and try something else. Eventually you will find the solution, it's just methodical and time consuming. That being said, I believe your issues are hardware related - the video card may just need to be pulled out and re-seated. The interior of the machine could be packed full of dust, clogging the exhaust fans for the power supply, the processor and the case itself which results in high temperatures - not good for PC hardware. The video card may be on its last legs and will eventually need to be replaced. Check all of your connections (VGA or DVI), swap out the cable, try hooking the machine up to another monitor and see if it behaves the same way, verify that you are using the correct resolution for your particular monitor, verify that it's not the monitor that's having problems. If you have a bad video card, even if Dell won't replace it under warranty, you can buy one at Best Buy for under $100 and have them install it. It's one of the best things that can go wrong, honestly. Anyway, this is all speculation - in my experience (6 years IT Help Desk), if the driver is incompatible or damaged the graphic repercussions are usually pretty extreme - patterns everywhere, bright pink box patterns across the screen - you would barely be able to see anything.
So to eliminate the driver possibility, try these steps:
Step 1 - Run Windows Updates, check all the optional software updates for the latest video driver and install. Windows Updates will pick up drivers for some non-Microsoft hardware/software. Reboot.
If that doesn't work, try it this way:
Step 2 - Update the driver manually. Right click on My Computer, Select Properties, Select Device Manager, Right click on whatever you have under Display Adapter (the video card itself) - you may want to write down the manufacturer/series/model for Step 3, if you need it. Select Properties, Select the Driver Tab, Select Update Driver, allow Windows to check automatically etc. Follow the steps and reboot.
If that doesn't work, you can try one last driver-related attempt:
Step 3 - At this point you will know the exact manufacturer and version of your video card (under Display Adapters) - go to their website and download and install the latest driver for this video card.
If this doesn't fix the problem, search the manufacturer's website knowledgebase or perform a Google search using a basic description ('rippling'..'lines'...'problem') and the video card's model...it's a great way to find solutions.
Can Dell actually get away with not solving your problem ? At some point I would advise them that you're a normal person, not an engineer and you don't have time for this - you want to ship it back for repair or have a tech come out and look at it.
You can also uninstall the video card through Device Manager and reboot - Windows will detect it again and go through all steps reinstall - I have seen this work countless times with network cards and wireless adapters.
You owe me $200 for this message.

Don't feel bad that you couldn't think of one. Or even understand the thread. Or decide not to participate and move on. Or not to dump your Ned Flanders philosophy on everybody.
"Just kidding" does not negate an entire series of obviously real thoughts.
My anger is well justified. It's people like you who kept "Full House" on the air for almost a decade. I'm surprised "Small Wonder" isn't still on. It was so wholesome and hilarious.

My sister worked for a technical support department at a large corporation where they called their daily morning meeting "the morning touchbase".
"Let's discuss it tomorrow at the touchbase."
It's even worse when it is used as a verb and pluralized.
"I'm going to touch bases with you"

Well, those are variations that you only see in written format.
If you want to add those, then you've got to add these:
it's and its.
too, to and two.
they're, their and there.
They're were too cars in front of me. The first one had it's fender missing. The second one there windows were smashed and I saw that they're headlights were out to. There so stupid.

Monty Python can be really unfunny.
To hear someone yelling "The Knights of NEE" over and over again is f cking irritating.
We've all seen it, we all know it. Similar to Caddyshack quotes - they've been so trampled at this point that using them is just a sign that you're poorly socialized and essentially retarded.
If you want something funny, watch Mr. Show or Jim Gaffigan's stand-up material.

I'm experimenting.
It seems that it will take the .aspx format, but not just standard .html or it may be looking for the domain of plentyoffish.
However, you are right (Sue Perlative) - it won't take a link after the first post.....doesn't work in edit format.

Do you understand the question ?
It seems that you are able to paste a clickable link.
I showed above where I pasted in a clickable link and it only shows as plain text.
Why would it work for you and not for me ?
It doesn't make sense.
I actually do IT support and this is driving me nuts. It's so simple.
I've tried different HTML ways to post hyperlinks and nothing works.

It's not a link from this site.
It's an outside link....of course I know how to do that.
It will not accept the link....only shows in plain text.
In most forums, you can just use markup - ________________
And it will show as a clickable link. Similar to when you're 'quoting' something.

Okay, I need some feedback on this one:
"heads up"
Is "heads up" annoying or not ? For once my processing system has had all of its standard alarms triggered by this one, yet I cannot bring myself to hate it as much as something like "FYI". Am I off my game ? Am I growing tolerant ? What's happening ?
I don't know why, but I've also started using "jiminy cricket". It sounds ridiculous, yet funny at the same time because it's so outdated. Like someone saying "23 skidoo".

People love to get 'offended' by anything and everything.
It's a new passive-aggressive phenomenon for unpopular people on corporate environments to leverage Human Resources departments against people that they are jealous of or dislike. I've seen so many good people get into trouble because they have made innocuous jokes or made slightly off-color statements in the presence of these types of people. They eavesdrop on peoples' personal conversations or go out of their way to be offended by the most ridiculous things and then report all of these incidents to their HR departments. Rather than trying to develop personal relationships or trying to make friends, they would rather become a self-appointed freelance spy for themselves (pretending that it's for the company and its best interests) and report anything and anyone around them in the hopes that somehow they will gain popularity or be perceived as a responsible and upstanding. In the end, the people that get in trouble or are actually dismissed in these instances are the superior workers. The tattle-tales are usually found to be poor workers and get fired in the long run for being complete slackers and mental cases and in the meantime the HR departments of companies end up getting rid of excellent workers because they're so desperately afraid of lawsuits being brought by these passive-aggressive idiots. Political correctness has found its way into every aspect of working life. Corporations already try to discourage any type of relationships at the workplace. If they could outlaw friendship, they would do that too. And there would be little spies reporting that too. "Bill and Fred are friends....I saw them talking about going to the Cubs' game together.....that's illegal according to the employee handbook, you need to address this issue"..............

Yes, James has made many valuable additions.
I have already added many to my list. He's the only person who seems to 'get it'.
Not to take away from anyone else, but he's been right on target with just about everything.
I will point out one that I actually disagree with:
beeeyach
I love calling people '****es' and 'beeeyachs'.
Mostly because I'm so white that it sounds ridiculous when I use rapper phraseology.

The man, the myth, the legend is very annoying. I'll have to add that to the list.
I hate when people say "There he is !!" when you arrive. This is a weird one....it's supposed to convey that everyone has been expecting you anxiously, yet no one really is. It usually comes from some shallow sales dude who also calls everyone 'boss' or 'guy'.

The misspellings on this site are appalling. Especially in thread titles - they are so glaring.
"My Boyfriend is a Syco"
"My Hart Is Broken"
The misusage of they're, their and there is pretty much a given in any thread.
Also two, too and to.
I have given up even worrying about it. It's really sad. People will probably think I'm elitist for mentioning it.....like I'm the 'bad guy' or something. I try not to point it out even if I want to help someone....it always will be taken the wrong way.
