Op go for it but only if you are prepared for a refusal. What happens if she says no thanks - are you brave enough to face that?

Curious - mothers who don't have their kids
Posted: 11/20/2009 11:19:59 AM
Well I have 2 kids - one is nearly 17 and the other one is 11. The 17 year old lives with her Dad in the Middle East. She came back to Ireland with me when I left there but hated it here as she was only 2 when we left. She went back to school there and did her GCSE's this year - 4A* 2A and 2B so shes not doing too badly.

She spent 2 months in the summer here with me and I will be spending Xmas out in the ME with her. So not everyone's situation is because of money, custody etc etc.

If, as you say, you build up a comfort level with women etc etc then they would want to see you a second time. Meet in a bar or coffee shop for an hour and then decide on a second date!

Yes I would imagine she replied to be polite but didnt really want to chat to you. Why did she bother replying at all? Because these forums slate people for not replying. Damned if you do and damned if you don't!

X factor 2009

Louise actually said he would love to see the boys in for another 2 weeks - he never said they would be!! But if he is only giving them 2 weeks then he knows they won't win - thank god!! Its not a singing contest just like strictly is not a dancing contest - its a personality contest. If the public like you then you stay no matter what you are like - just look at John Seargent last year in strictly..

There was an outrage because he was kept in despite being the worst dancer and then when he pulled out there was an outrage because the public wanted him to stay in which is why they voted. Damned if you do and damned if you don't!

Chain emails - Do you pass them on? Check the facts?
Posted: 11/13/2009 11:15:56 AM
I get a few of these at work from various people in the office or from my family. I don't care who they are from or who is on the CC - I delete them all. Including the Angel ones, good luck, Karma etc etc and the supposedly true stories from police information.

What death this year has broken your heart the most?
Posted: 10/30/2009 7:37:24 AM
Well I have to say as a family in general we have been very lucky overall compared to some.
MJ's death - never even watched the coverage on tv.
Patrick Swayze was sad - I met him years ago and he was as lovely in the flesh.
But Stephen Gatelys death recently (Boyzone) really hit home. Local lad made good. He never forgot where he came from. But watching the funeral and listening to the rest of Boyzone talking about him made me cry. Still does now just thinking about it.

Think Jamie is a bit of a one trick pony so he could be on his way out.
The public don't like Rachel so they cant possibly save her again if she is in the bottom two.
I love Joe and Lucie and would love to hear Lucie sing Alannah Miles stuff next week.
The twins are the pits but if you lot stopped voting for them then they would be gone.
I love Stacey as well but she is far to dippy to win! Can you imagine her accepting an award at a huge event?? Too funny.
Its all making for an interesting show - tonight results show, chocolate and wine - what more could you want???

Would you do any job instead of the dole?
Posted: 10/24/2009 3:37:29 AM
This thread is also in the UK forums but I thought I would take it into here - unless thats not allowed.

A friend of mine was made redundant a few months ago - she is a secretary. When M&S advertised for staff for Xmas we suggested she should go along - she worked in retail before getting the secretarial job. She has a mortgage to pay and her redundancy payout won't last too long. However her response was 'Oh I would rather wait for a clerical job to come along'.

Now if that was me I would have been first in the queue at M&S - it is only over the Xmas and no one is taking on clerical staff at the moment so she hasn't a hope. Her b/f has just been made redundant and they are now struggling.

What would you do? Apply for the job or hang on?

Would you do any job rather than be unemployed?
Posted: 10/24/2009 3:32:02 AM
Well Im lucky enough to work and I love my job. However a friend of mine was made redundant a few months ago - she is a secretary. She lives with her b/f but has her own house rented out - she could barely pay the mortgage on that when she was working! So recently M&S advertised for jobs for the Xmas period and we suggested to her that she should go and apply as she worked in retail before she became a secretary.. Her response 'Oh I would rather hang on for a clerical job'.

Now if that was me I would have been first in the queue at M&S. No one is hiring clerical staff at the moment and the job would have done her over the Xmas period! Now her b/f has just been made redundant so they are struggling even more now! Some people just amaze me.

Some of them are quite interesting but that WWE is just ridiculous!

Need some advice about lazy, going nowhere girlfriend
Posted: 10/15/2009 11:14:58 AM
Okay Op there are two things:

The answer you want to hear - dont worry about it - you love her and she loves you so it will all work out in the end and you will both live happily every after in a trailer park.

The answers you are getting but aren't paying attention to - you will be dragged down for the rest of your life and eventually you will resent this girl and wish you had listened to all these complete strangers!

Good luck.

What should I be asking someone before first date?
Posted: 10/13/2009 6:00:35 AM
OP ignore the separated/divorced thing - that is a real American hang up! Go on the date and have a good time - ask him what kind of music he likes, movies, food etc - don't grill him - you are only going on a date not moving in!

Creepiest message youve gotten
Posted: 10/5/2009 7:15:27 AM
Have had a few. But one guy was emailing me for a while - I wouldnt go out with him (not my type). He then proceeded to tell me that he had a date and she had brought her friend with her and all the sordid details of the 3 of them in a hotel room!! He was 48 and told me that these girls were 23.

No offence to anyone but there is no way that a 23 year old would go out with this guy let alone subject her mate to him as well.

I find when you add guys to MSN (and Im sure it happens with girls too) you suddenly get these messages x has joined Y's network and all their notes to them - kind of a turn off when they have loads of girls in their network and the notes they leave. Some of them don't realise that everyone in their network can see their notes!!

Posted: 10/4/2009 4:24:32 AM
OP I assume you mean the Irish forum has slowed down. Yes it has and it is the same people around here all the time - however that could be because every thread in here seems to eventually turn into a slanging match - this one will eventually too. Some people just can't help themselves.

Holiday or Birthday Cards, Do you help your kids or nothing?
Posted: 9/25/2009 1:51:06 PM
My kids are 15 and 11 and I still organise cards etc. Your daughter is only 7 - she can't go and get a card herself so your ex's reasoning is a bit flawed - manipulation at its best imo.
