Cancelled XMAS parties
Posted: 11/12/2009 6:43:43 AM
Our parties are still on... one at Belgo and the other at Ruth Chris... nomnomnom! (open bar and me don't mix well... or they mix TOO well...)

Personally I'm with AE on this one. I'd rather stay home and have a party with the friends then hang out with my coworkers. I mean some of them are friends but others I don't really want to see socially.

Higher wage earners are far more important to society because they are harder to replace. Thus vaccines should be handed out by income levels first. Babies are unknowns and thus should fall in the category "average income earner" to garner their place in line... Discuss...

On the talk of this being the same flu... although it isn't the same they have seen immunity in a lot of our more mature citizens... the spanish influenza was different in that it used your immune system as an attacker where this flu is still believe to be of the attack the immune system varietal... that might change... and all the deaths in Alberta so far are still people who had very compromised respiratory systems...

So the team doctor did his job and asked if the team could get vaccines. The health board said yes. They all got vaccines.

I see no line jumping at all. The person who had the line formed in the first place allowed them to go in. You're putting blame on the wrong person.

And as for the high risk group, they don't even really know who those are yet. They have arbitrarily designed high risk to coincide with peoples views. The actual only high risk are those with current conditions including:

* Pregnant women
* People who are obese
* People with heart disease
* People with diabetes
* People with asthma or other chronic lung diseases
* People with kidney disease
* Those with suppressed immune systems, such as people with HIV
* People with neurological and neuromuscular disorders

Of those, pregnant women are supposed to take non-adjuvant vaccines which there are currently zero anyway. (this means they lack the catalyst of mercury and aluminum which are detrimental to the brain development to the baby)

I'm going to go out there and lay blame to every person who is healthy that got a shot... shame on you, you should have let everyone else go first. SO instead of picking out the Calgary Flames as your so called scapegoat for the reason a few innocent people died, at least blanket it to all the healthy individuals who stood in line the first few days.

"Influenza spreads around the world in seasonal epidemics, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of thousands worldwide annually, and millions in pandemic years. On average 41,400 people died each year in the United States between 1979 and 2001 from influenza.[7]"

Umm... what are we at again with swine flu this year?...

ROFL... typical western response blaming a Liberal government... because tax dollars are being so well used now!...

"Conservative claim: Conservatives blame their multi-million dollar single source vaccine contract on the previous Liberal government, and blame their supplier for delays.

The facts: The Liberals built up Canada’s domestic capacity to make it possible to produce pandemic influenza vaccine domestically. The 2001 pandemic vaccine contract with Shire Biologics required the company to be constantly ready to make and sell pandemic flu vaccine to Canada, while still allowing vaccines to be ordered from other manufacturers in case of a tight supply. The 2004 Canadian Pandemic Influenza Plan stated, “Multiple suppliers should be considered in the planning process.”

In 2007, Conservative Health Minister Tony Clement revised the pandemic vaccine contract with GlaxoSmithKline and could have insisted upon multiple suppliers. Chief Public Health Officer Dr. David Butler-Jones confirmed yesterday that the government can order more vaccine from other suppliers. It failed to do so."

I much prefer hot yoga over normal yoga because I fell I am WAY more bendy which allows me to get into the positions easier. I also prefer the flow class over the standard class because I'm there for a workout. Best instructors I have had have been at Calgary hot, unless you're into all the spiritual connection yoga and then it's Bohdi tree hands down.

We read profiles... turn off IM, it's fail. Don't respond to "Hi, how are you?"... put your interests in so a potential can know he shares some of the same. I found my videogame closet nerd here and have dated others (not at the same time... omg, you all thought that right away!) and have found it to be a good resource for meeting people.

And I have a man crush on AE...

So you want people who mostly live in Calgary who are constantly on planes, in the public and travelling around NA and exposed to thousands to NOT have the shot first?... Sorry, I feel safer knowing that the flames and the homeless have the shot just because their ability to spread the affliction is far superior to my own...

I sometimes come home from a party under the influence only to crack one more beer, put on headphones and pound out some rhythm and base or house music while playing WoW. It's quite hard to type under these conditions and I get sent some lovely screenshots from my friends afterwards. The lady usually strolls in around 6 in the morning to ask me to feed the animals... yes... sleep is optional!...

Went on a double date with my ex husband last night. Crazy?
Posted: 10/14/2009 2:57:50 PM
Actually I'm a glass full kind of guy. I take a situation for what it is and go with it.

But asking people's opinions and getting negative responses and going on to call people doubters and that's why they are miserable seems a bit odd...

It's starting to sound like the question: "do I look fat in this dress"... men know better then to answer this question!... (well I don't... but still, she shouldn't have hit me when I replied "no, the dress has nothing to do with it..." )

You asked if people thought you were crazy, I just responded... I have no doubt you had a good time or that it can work for you and I wish you good luck... I still think it's crazy... and I've never been miserable in my life... but thanks for tossing me into a box... why ask a question if you don't want responses besides the ones that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Welcome to the interwebz...

I believe in odds. I know I could be locked in a cage with a bear and come out alive, but why take that risk. A sheep still might kill me but I have a far better chance!

Well everyone is allowed to have their opinions of how it should and shouldn't work. You do what works for you and if it doesn;t work for them, that's too bad and vice versa... I'm sure if you went for coffee with someone you thought was too good to pass up and he wanted you to be only pursuing him at the time you might rethink your ways and vice versa someone who thought you were amazing would allow you to go on dates with others.

I'm dating a girl and stalking Sassy... I like to keep things in seperate containers

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS; pronounced /sɑrz/, sarz) is a respiratory disease in humans which is caused by the SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV).[1] There has been one near pandemic to date, between the months of November 2002 and July 2003, with 8,096 known infected cases and 774 deaths (a case-fatality rate of 9.6%) worldwide being listed in the World Health Organization's (WHO) 21 April 2004 concluding report.[2] Within a matter of weeks in early 2003, SARS spread from the Guangdong province of China to rapidly infect individuals in some 37 countries around the world.[3]

Mortality by age group as of 8 May 2003 is below 1% for people aged 24 or younger, 6% for those 25 to 44, 15% in those 45 to 64 and more than 50% for those over 65.[4] For comparison, the case fatality rate for influenza is usually around 0.6% (primarily among the elderly) but can rise as high as 33% in locally severe epidemics of new strains. The mortality rate of the primary viral pneumonia form is about 70%.

As of May 2006[update], the spread of SARS has been fully contained thanks to the efforts of the WHO, with the last infected human case seen in June 2003 (disregarding a laboratory induced infection case in 2004). However, SARS is not claimed to have been eradicated (unlike smallpox), as it may still be present in its natural host reservoirs (animal populations) and may potentially return into the human population in the future.

"put your best foot forward"

K... enough of the preaching on how you try to act like yourselves... sure you're acting liek yourselves, that's fine... but putting your best food forward doesn't mean you're being someone you're not, it means you're trying to show all the good things about you.
