Rowlie,
One of the most important things you said, although your whole post is important, is:
"Above all tell them nothing, not even that you know it is a scam. If you give them feedback they merely become better scammers." This is so true! Just drop them like a steaming hunk of molten metal and never, I repeat, NEVER, look back!

Toni,
Hon, you need to run as fast and as far away from this creep as you can. DO NOT talk to him anymore. He is a thief in poorly comoflaged disquise. Not too long ago on another dating site that I won't mention here a man contacted me, out of the blue. He said that he was really interested in getting to know me and that he was a pediatrician who had gone to volunteer for 3 months in Lagos, Nigeria. He said all the right things that a woman would like to hear, except I didn't fall for it. I immediately saw red flags all over the place.
He had talked to me for a couple (2) of days when he asked for money. I had talked to him figuring that I would see just how far he would take it, since he was figuring that I was a "vulnerable lonely woman." Too bad for him that I am intelligent, logical and can see a scam a mile away. Anyway, long story short he said that the children there are in severe poverty, which a lot of them are, however, he tried to tell me that he had used all his cash and they didn't take credit cards there in Lagos and that he needed money to help the children. Sob story..... Well, Lagos is a large city with banks etc. and I don't have an idea why he thought that anyone would fall for that one. So, that was the end of that. I had brought his evil deeds to the forefront....
Toni, ANYTIME, that someone asks you for money online, run. Run fast, run hard, but just run. They are not after you as a potential mate. They are after you for whatever money they can squeeze out of you before you figure them out. Please don't fall for it!
