Term limits
Posted: 11/12/2009 9:34:58 AM
Term limits are bad idea. In Mexico thie politicans do what they please because term limits creates incentives to enrich myself and not be so concered about getting reelected. It gives the speical interests more power if you had term limits.

Reelection is great check on the poltical system because it holds politicans accountable for thier votes. With no-reelections what the need to vote based on how your district feels, and it means time in congress to get some graft and no need to help out local voters just here to enrich myself. With no-reelections or term limits the p0liticians will raise thier saleries to compensate the fact they can only serve one term .

Finally, term limits would make finding consensus on issuses more diffircult because no need to listen to my voters since I have one term in office anyways speical interests always pay better

Latin America pratices it and look at how thier poltical system is lolololololol

Lets stick with what we have that is imperfect but at least the voters have a some voice

Support broad in U.S. for public healthcare option
Posted: 11/12/2009 9:22:37 AM
$$$Healthcare written for the lobbisyts and by the lobbiyts. How many times is require, or shall written in the healthcare bill probadly 4,000,000 times, and the bill is 1990 pages long and does nothing but create mo goverment goons to control peoples lives.

Its actually cheaper to the taxpayer for a person to die of a heart attack at age 70 than to keep them alive till 85 years old according to the CBO figure because preventative medicine always cost more in terms of taking medications and maintaing a healthier lifestyle. Congress wont tell you the real economic costs for people living longer.

Dont support the bill because it still relies on employer based covearge for healthcare, and the cynical person will game the system and see it is to thier benefit to pay 2.5% payroll penalty because they know thier employer pays 10% of thier wages towards health insurance. Say, the pealty is 2.5% of my income that person likely to come ahead $2000 to $3000 espeically a young person that thinks theya re immortal.

Still, anybody that knows how congressional committes work this thing heading toward defeat because the democrats and SEIU and UAW and thier goons dont want you to have chevy healthcare.

The publican's alternative budget is a huge joke
Posted: 4/1/2009 11:10:10 PM
GOP budget is a starting point to negiotate Second, tax rates on corporations are too high at 40% and sick of tax looppoles designed to encourage people to spend moree than the income they have. The item of the bugdet I would cut is mortgage interest deduction for the reason it encourages maximumizing debt and it regressive tax deduction. Second, cut out subidies to alternative energy and big oil to free up tax dollars for servicing debt payments. Third, the tax rates should come down to 10% for the 150,000 income and 20% for 150,000 up. Medicare reform would be needed to look at cost verse clincal effectivness of the treatment. If the treatment cost is of maringal clincal value medicare will have the right to deny coverage for the treatment.

Obama spending will led to higher inflati0n down the road because the debt the goverment takes on the less money is available in the real economy to produce something of value. Millitary spending should be no more than 4% of the GDP and healthcare spending should be no more than 10% GDP. Healthcare spending does not shrink in the next five years probadly will have pared back medicare benefits to the wealthy and healthy to use medicare for the genuniely sick.

Get rid of tax looppoles is what budget should be about and lowering marginal tax rates over the long term.

Why can't we let banks fail?
Posted: 3/23/2009 3:25:29 PM
Banks should fail if they did not meet market forces heard of Scrpumter creative destruction? Andrew Jackson had similar bank sitatuion in 1836 with refusal to charter the National Bank of Untied States. Why did Andrew Jackson refuse to charter the institution? They are making ole boy network loans not letting the markets to work. The big banks need to fail for the economy to recover long term because taxpayer should not pay the downside of the results because of poor fiscal policies from the banks. Let AIG, Citigroup, Bank of America die off they had unsustainble business models and end funds to tarp 750 billion assest plan. Geither plan today will lead to congressional hearings couple years from now because the people that benefit from Geither plans are part of the puzzle that started this banking crisis to begin with.

The Real reason people lose their homes
Posted: 3/23/2009 3:13:43 PM
People lose homes from bad luck reasons. On the otherhand, certain people are dumb engouh like lenders to give NINJA loans to anybody on 500k house. Also, you have people that are plain mathetically illiterate when it comes to the knowing true cost of owning a home. The big banks like Citigroup, Warcovia, Bank of Americas should die by market forces and not prop up. Also, people that knew got NINJA loans knowing they could not afford the house should not recieve help from the taxpayer ethier. Financail literacy needs to be thaught in middle school and high school so next generation of childern know that debt fueled lifestlyes leave little for retirement when most will need money for healthcare cost. This housing crisis gonna take 5 to 10 years to correct because the excessive supply of homes, and the excessive debt that needs to be cleared off cosumer balance sheets.
People lose homes trying to keep up with the Joneses should not get help from the taxpayer ethier. US goverment should end tax deduction for interest payments on mortgages because it only encourages tax benefits to take on more debt. Canada does not have interest deduction in thier tax c0de to allow leverage of debt like that and home ownership percentages are similar.

Have you ever seen those shows where a monkey is in a flight simulator, and actually flying the thing within reason ? Kinda puts the monkeys in congress to shame, don't it? I mean they can't agree with their own ideas if the other side adopts them. I look at congress and I try to find the order, but there is none to be found

Just turn congress over pigons at least I know the pigon does not need taxpayers to fuel thier lear jets to fly home on the weekends

Steele new leader of the RNC, how do you feel about that? Limbaugh most influential republican?
Posted: 3/22/2009 6:48:24 AM
GOP has to politcal give me points its called AIG ops, Mr Turbo Tax Tim and Mr Dodd wanted those failing hedge fund managers get thier million dollar bonus. Mr Dodd instered lanauage in to the allowing those bonus to be paid, and Mr Greither did not have time to look at TARP bailout balance sheet since Greither is still trying to get turbo tax to do his 2008 tax return. Mr. Dodd or Fraud was helping ensure the AIG excutives could still make buy thier Gucci suits and ties. Then you have Barney Frank wanting to tax the bonus of AIG Excutues 100% to score brownie points with the media.
Then you have Republican party leadership in circular suicide cacaus wondering if
vote no for the bonus means they are standing up to the rule of law.

If you vote yes as Republcian for 100% tax on AIG the club for growth may run candidate in the party primary to take you on. Democrats like Dodd will probady will out of office in 2010 working for Fannie and Freddie Mae making more money than as Senator.

Republican party will recover but Ditto Heads need to keep cool and rational on certian issuse because Queen Pelosi will move the legislature further to fuel to the fire. The reactive you are to Queen Pelosi on moral issuses you are we lose on economic issusse. Republican party needs to expand the base beyond old white men to surivive in the long term.

Second, bashing immigrants by the far right makes it harder to live by low taxes and maxiumizing economic freedom. The republican party needs hispanic votes in the long run to preserve the social base and economic base. George Bush understood but GOP house leadership were thinking of the next election cycle rather than thinking long term where at least 40% of hispanics would vote Republican. Now, hispanics will go over to the democrats that means Republicans have to pick up more support in the midwest to make up for those losses???

Like Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and those social conservaties are further left on economic issuses than even west coast democrats in San Francisco.

Republican party needs to think about trade-offs in the platform in the long term but it does not mean wholesale changes in idealogy but it means pragmatism. If they agree with the party 80% of the time that is acceptable to win back house seats, but looking for idealogical purity is politcal suicide lol.

Republican party cant use same ideas in Ohio as in Alabama lolololol. Tom Delay let midwest Republicans vote against trade agreements if they voted on other agreements the party needs to advance the agenda. The letover Republicans will learn thier lessons soon and Remember queen Pelosi cap and trade scam is dog meat on the bone and the GOP better block it becoming reality.

Democrats coalition is breakable if the GOP picks the right leaders for the next generation and avoid ditto head nativsts running the ship. The Republican party does not need to become an regional party.

An ACTUAL solution to the economic problems....
Posted: 3/21/2009 7:09:46 AM
Turbo tax Tim Geither gotta go and need new economic team. Turdo tax tim needs to more transparents on idea how to foster a normalcy in the banking sector. Second, we less academic economists telling what needs to be done and fall back on what america does best innovate. When a politcos on the right or left tell you that we can end recessions and market corrections they are full of it. Boom and Bust is American way?

Failure is okay? It not okay to pass the responsbility of your failure to the taxpayer.
You make shareholders wads of cash you deverse millions, but if you screw the taxapayers and sharedholders should stuck bailing it out.

Solution to economic problems takes on many meanings you have the Democrats that think spending money will get out of economic mess that will not help grow a company or help business buy captial equiprment. The Republicans think they spending money on unemployment benefits is evil and creates a new welfare state, but the question is what is cheaper unemployment checks or creating a new criminal class that will takeup crime if the economy is not doing allright. The balance stimulus spending should of shore up the safety net on hard times.
Forget bailing out AIG, Citigroup, GM, Ford, Crysler, Well Fargo they made bad business discisions and should fail. If the forginer investors like the West Europeans are mad because we let the big banks. Well, that just means your investor class in Europe like the deriviaties as much as wall street.

Solutions to illegal immigration?
Posted: 3/9/2009 4:12:10 AM
The immigration problem started before Clinton was in office or even before Truman because the american economy had low skilled jobs no one wanted in argiculture, hopstiality and such. From WW2 to 1964 they had bracerco program that regulated the flow of workers between Mexico and Untied States at the time. The program sounded good in theory but the problem was workers were being cheated out of money by the goverment of Mexico and employers. The solution to illegal immigration is got to based on compassion, yet we need more troops on the border to catch dangerous drug lords, and smugglers. Immigration reform is needed to give people who paid social secuity taxes, local, federal taxes the oppounity to become American citizens. The supply of workers America needs never meets the demand because politicans cave in natvists rather than doing that what is best for the country as a whole.

What is the LOW........... 5000 DOW?
Posted: 3/9/2009 3:32:52 AM
Dow is in bear market right now and sliver, gold, metals is good this time. Im gambling on GM stock because of the fact it only 30 dollar loss buying 25 shares. at $1.45 a share. If the economy grows 2% in 2011 and GM sells automobiles again make a couple hundered dollars profit if sales go up. Other hand, if GM is bankrupt the stock is worthless that okay because America is corporatist state that will always bail out the entrenched interests groups like Unions, big coporations, big banks, big healthcare companies. "The goverment will always screw the little people over!" Still, just sold two grand in stocks and got into sliver and good. Thank good I did I would of lost an extra 200 dollars if I held the stock for any longer. Preservation of value of investment is key till the bear have nothing else to feed on. Still, bought GM stock to see if the deal is lottery tickets.

2009 plan for the economy
Posted: 3/9/2009 3:19:43 AM
Which companies print money for the fed

Buy gold, sliver pretty much bear down the hatches the bottom is near.

Shiela Blair is adding fees to local banks that had nothing to do with the bankster mess created.

FDIC is dry tap and the tax payer gonna be asked for TARP round II. The first tarp did not work why spend more now. We know Citigroup, Bank of America are hurting banks. The question should be if the mulitpler effect of bank failure really hurt the economy that much. The fed needs to more transparent here because the public needs to know the damage in the banking sector to price toxic assests.

Citigroup and Bank of America should be controlled bankrupcy .
If thier is evidence that community and other banks are picking up lending in place of BOA and citigroup it means one thing. The big banksters need to go down. Andrew Jackson be rolling in his grave at Dodd, Frank ideas about fixing the mess.

Bailout does not cure the problem there is no need for round 2.

$150 million for the Smithsonian
$34 million to renovate the Department of Commerce headquarters
$500 million for improvement projects for National Institutes of Health facilities
$44 million for repairs to Department of Agriculture headquarters
$350 million for Agriculture Department computers

this is public goods that dont benefit anybody except narrow lobby groups.

$4.5 billion for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
$850 million for Amtrak
$87 million for a polar icebreaking ship
$1.7 billion for the National Park System
$55 million for Historic Preservation Fund
$7.6 billion for “rural community advancement programs”
$150 million for agricultural-commodity purchases

Where is our country headed now, is this really a depression
Posted: 2/10/2009 6:53:32 AM
No, it will be deep recession and the economic needs 5 to 6 years to correct its excess capacity built in. People that build and repair goods will be in demand. The market will correct excessive supply of banksters and hedge fund managers. With prices on goods like electronics going up repairing appliances will be good living for some. Insted of people buying new cars every two years they will buy them every five to six years that means mechanics will have more work to make a living off of. The economy will revert back to the comsumption patterns of the 1980s that is still better standard of living than in 1950s when you are lucky you owed washer, or some even a car. Media is fear mongering with this stimulus bill and the stimulus bill do something but prime the printing pressures of inflation.

This stimulus will not work because it full of special interest pork projects and fear if it stimulus passes in two years time were gonna have to deal with inflationary pressures. Economics are acamdemics and there is reality. Reality is goverment will give money to the local goverments the local will abuse the tax payer again ask for more later in higher taxes. Fillbuster this stimulus at all costs because the price tag is too high and its full of funding for bike trails, tax breaks for hollywood movie production, funding of studies on how video games intellegence.

The Fair Tax Plan-Good or Bad??
Posted: 2/10/2009 6:21:01 AM
Perfer a lower coperate and income taxes and higher comsumption taxes myself. Fairtax is good but it violates trade agreements and China holds are debt would sell it because the fairtax acts tarriff on imported goods.

We should flat tax "all income at 18%". Yes, that means sale of real estate, bonus money from work, dividends and corporate profits are all taxed at 18%. To make up for loss tax dollars we have national sales tax on goods and services. Once tax rates are above 20% people start to cheat the system because the incentive to work is diminshed. Equilibulm and laffety curve should be applied because too many taxes hurt work motivaiton but too low taxes leaves essentail services unfunded.

2009 plan for the economy
Posted: 12/17/2008 6:42:19 AM
Laize-Faire economics works when "all people are rational beings", and govermerment role to give hand up to all sectors of the economy. Intervertention in the economy to promote full employment and maxiumization of purchasing power is key. Communism never works because you need incentives to produce goods and services.

Time to do study of Gaulism

The General was equally dismissive of both liberalism and collectivism, preferring a third way. "Liberalism as we knew it in the past has become something inconceivable and intolerable in the present state of the world and especially in the current state of society. [Communism] is an overbearing solution, terrible for the people, a solution that breaks down everything (…). Neither old-style liberalism, nor overbearing communism. Something else. Something simple, honourable and practical : association. It is an old French concept" (31 August 1949).

In 1948, in Saint-Etienne, he floated the idea of the association of capital and labour which would lead to equality between the associates in a company and the disappearance of the all-powerful employer class. Each side contributing its skills and resources, each with a stake in the successful running of the company : capital-labour association would pave the way for a means of managing class conflict avoiding revolution.

Think its time to for West and America to look at Gualism to ensure workers and sharholders are all getting a stake in failure or success.

2009 plan for the economy
Posted: 12/13/2008 6:08:18 PM
The balance sheets of comsumers needs to be given time to clear up, and healthcare reform is needed to ensure job loss effects are not as drastic. Economics is n0t exact emperical science. Also, Obama plan to spend billions will put pressure on inflation over the long term, yet deflation is worse than inflationary spending.

The goverment should be tighter with money when the economy grows, and spend money when the economy in recession. Counter cylical measure to stimulate the economy is fine to a certain point, but the best way to stimulate growth of the economy reducing the coperate taxes, and reduction in capital gain taxes. Would actually make coporate tax flat 12% and make up for lost money raising fuel taxes to ensure gasoline is $4.00 a gallon to fund goverment spending. Give tax rebates to truck drivers, but leave the higher fuel tax inplace to discourage production of less fuel efficent cars. Obama wants to help the economy it means letting the markets do its thing.

Anyone got an extra 400,000 bucks to fix the U.S. economy ?
Posted: 12/11/2008 2:34:20 AM
balance sheets take time to clean up and the economy will slowly recover. What is distrubing is spending of taxpayer dollars on bailouts for companies rather letting the recession taking its course. The taxdollar spending should be appield t0wards food stamps and unemployment benefits till the economy gets better. Throwing good money at bad money will not make the economy better. Would oppose any stimulus packages at this point because the systemic economic problems have subsided and just let markets work now.

Goverment always plays role with interaction with society, and goverment that is overbearing and centralized becomes inefficent and prone to curroption. Transpracy is key to good goverment more than economic philosphy. Also, you have to take culture, geography into acoount to create goverment to provide stability to the people. The public and private goods question answer vary person to person. Sucessful goverments on the left, right, center promoted freedom over tranny. Idealogy does not mean the goverment will be well run because some right wing goverments failed in latin america as have left wing goverments.

The EPA pick if it California style enivromentalist treehunger fillbusters are Graunteed from Demitt, Inhofe , Shebly. Economy needs to be left alone and let the markets find the equilbrium. The truth about welfare!
Posted: 11/24/2008 4:52:41 AM
You think its morally right to tax a small business or Joe the Six Pack support people capable working at least 20 hours a week of thier hard earned money. The goverment is a lot bigger than 25 years ago, and it goverment growth chokes off investment into more productive sectors. You leftists make me puke because you want to take from small business owner and joe six-pack to fund your intellectual relativsm. Class warfare is wrong and the middle class is subjective measure because people have way better living than in 1970s. The amount of money does not determine happiness. The welfare dependancy is the issuse not needing welfare for short periods of time becuase of job losses or divorces.
The problem is people bilking the tax going state to state, county to county collecting welfare check they have n0 business collecting. Yes, there should be time limit of 6 years on welfare for people capable of working, and exceptions made for mentally and phyiscally disabled.

The reality is pensions are always broke its not fair to taxpayers to bailout thier pensions funds out. People need little bit personal responbility and accept the actions of conqueneces instead of passing the buck.

Just wait till Joe Six packs open your mail look at utility bill tripled because of latte left thinks coalminers, truckers, welders, delivery drivers can foot the bill. Remember, West Virginia used to strong democartic state till the Democratic party started drinking the enviromental cool aid. Yes, the GOP will make inroads where the liberals are not looking and having waxman as energy chairment instead of Dingell provides good meat to throw to the masses.

2009 plan for the economy
Posted: 11/23/2008 4:58:10 AM
The economy downturn will be a lot longer people are under heavy debts loads as is companies. Economy will need 3 to 5 years to correct its excess the best plan for the economy leave it alone, and reform healthcare system first off. Second, probadly lay off tax increases on captial formation. Third, layoff goverment intervention in the economy that is beyond the role of goverment itself. Banking sector needs reforms to make the system transparent, and use experts that are not idealouges to reform that sector of the economy. Finally, no carbon taxes or cap and trade because it will increase utilites costs and will destroy desposable income of people in Ohio, West Viriginia, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsyvanla. The problem is far-left democrats like Waxman, Miller, Obey will have pent up radical demands that are inpratical outside the left coasts of California, and deposement of Dingell on the enengy comittee probadly will mean no Republican support on energy issuses.

The FED Won't Say...

China gonna put $600 billion into stimulating thier economies to make up for lack of demand for goods in the west. China to make political regime stable needs 8% or higher GDP growth a rate year to asborb people into jobs. Therefore; China gonna try to thier people to buy goods that Europeans or Americans used to buy. Factories closed in China all the time espeically the ones the govemrent or the market feels are no longer useful. The comsumer is streched flatout they cant take on more debt, the banks are overleverged with barely the money coming thru for daily operations. The fed role is uselss as perviously said because Greenspan made the critcal mistake back in mid 2005 not tighting up interest rates when the first signs of real estate prices going out of hand. The Untied States will make it thru the recession, but the price is economic recovery gonna take till 2012 or 2013 there too much debts on the books to clean up quickly. The fed will not tighten money up because that would speed deflation alone, and cutting interest rates too low will stimualte blowback inflation.

The Fairness Doctrine vs.Broadcaster Freedom Act of 2007
Posted: 11/22/2008 8:40:51 AM
Rush is good at 11am to listen too people know not take his ideas at face value. Figured if Rush is saying something that pisses me off just change the station. Fairness docturine was useful when information just limited to narrow band of AM stations. Now, there is cable, internet and other options you can get information from. Fairness doctrine is bad idea because it forces talk radio off the air, and leftwing radio makes you sleepy listening to it. Most people that listen to Savage, Rush, Leven , Hannity know they can go overboard at times, but the also point out the hypocrisy of the media and the bias every human has.

The FED Won't Say...
Posted: 11/20/2008 3:10:43 AM
That deflation is occuring as we speak and Benerake is useless still we hit the price floor. The recession in 2009, 2010, 2011 gonna be deep one because there is excess capacity in the economy. Massive layoffs are exaggerated actually, and quickest way to revive the economy is the goverment doing nothing. Obama should work on reforming healthcare because any reduction of money going towards healthcare will stimulate economic recovery. The Fed dont say is that wages at your job will be reduce as effects of delfation take effect in the market. The effects of deflation will probadly be felt in the real estate, banking, argiculture the most. The countries like China gonna need to stimulate internal demand for goods and services to grow the economy because the west is saturated with too many goods.

Sounds like leak from Obama and the Clintons to distract the media from the economic meltdown going on with growing inventory of goods stuck at seaports because of no money for people to buy goods with. Clinton as Secretary of State thin Obama could find more qualified people for the post.

Socialism, Fascism, Communism, Capitalism, et al.
Posted: 11/20/2008 2:44:36 AM
Woodrow Wilson was a fascist president more than Bush , FDR, Nixon because in 1918 alien sedition act threw more German and Irish war protestors in prison cells protesting WW1 than all other presidents since then.

The old dixiecarts in the south were facists like Theodoe Blibo probadly the most digusting politcian to ever represent people in congress. KKK and rasict voters kept in this scum in all the time.

Then you have Stalin, Mao those were communists that like to liquidate all forms of oppression thru killing millions of its own people.

Corporatism is evil too but its more crony captialism that is praticed by all countries in the world in some form or another. The Asians are better at corporatism than the Latin Americans at it because the whole western hempsihere was infleuced by the works of Roseau, Locke in terms how a goverment should run. Wink, Wink the French influence on western Hemisphere is more than the British would admit. Caudillo the Latin American dictatorship is mix of cronyism and classic liberalism.

Caudillos could care less about your drinking habits, sex life, traveling habits. Caudillos just want to have stable rule and try to use bribery or imitation before glugs, or mass murders. Fortunalety, the Caudillos are smaller in number than 40 years go.

Fascism need not be dictatorial, so you can dispense with the second part of the definition, Charlie. Another, 21st-Century synonym for fascism is corporatism.

That is correct money and pork talks to voters, peasants, labor Unions, corporations.

The truth about welfare!

And here is the erroneous assumption, that it is lazy people who refuse to work that are living high off the hog. You have to give it to the Republicans for framing it.

It annoys me that people with foodstamps can buy better than Joe-Six pack, and the goverment has grown beyond the public use for it. 25,000 lobbists in Washington DC alone stealing taxdollars from the people that work. You want college education to be affordable you have to cut off the college aid, and reduce wages elite college presidents making $1,500,000 a year of the backs of the taxpayer. In addition, stop the universities asking for new college sports facilities every 10 years. Also, the public sector Unions are way overpaid for thier work and they should start to create 401k for the workers instead of having us taxpayers fund thier pensions.

A Note from an Honest Republican

I know of republican policies and the true "elitist agendas" they have for the wealthy, it amuses me to no end when I see a 30 yr old car, in six different colors, with not a single straight body panel, that has right-wing political bumper stickers pasted all over the back-end. They (the republicans) have clearly shown very clever marketing strategies if the very people they vilify are supporting them. However, the current financial mess is beginning to bring a bit more clarity to some of their sheeple, who are slowly realizing the thin veil of opportunity the rebublicans taunt them with. Too many of the hard-core republicans, those who dont' actually benefit from their policies, but vote for them anyway, are getting canned at work, losing their mortgages, car loans, and businesses so their numbers have dwindled significantly from where it was 4 yrs ago.

(Its the business that create jobs for the people????) The Liberals some of them think the goverment will solve all social ills even Obama knows it wont.

The Republicans do have problem with being in bed with Evangelicals, but that nothing left coast Democrats drink a way more diabolical cool aid of radical enviromentalism that turns people poor. The radical enviromentalism increase utility rates, increase fuel costs, increase food costs things that hurt the worst off the most.

Remember watching growing up Berlin Wall fell I figure leftists would just work on expanding freedom, Nope they are back to bring us 21st century authoriainism.

Explain to me why John Kerry, Pelosi needs private jets to get home that is wasting carbon is it not? Hyprocrits the Democrats can be on the enivroment and them florestant light blubs required in 2010 means if one breaks in the house means you have to ripped out the carpet, wall covering to remove the mercury. Not against alternative Energy but dont turn big oil, coal into boggie men for poltical points.

Class warfare Dems play is total garbage back in 1960 20% of the houses in the midwest did not have plumbing and 10% no electricty. Today, its 3% with no plumbing and 2% with no electricty people forget we made progress in the last 30 years even if CEOs made 300 times more than the worker on the factory. Purchasing power increases as prices fall on comsumer items its classical economy of scale and efficency.
Living starndards are better than they always been in history of the world. People on the left lose all objecitivty in regards to progress.

Republicans caused economic crisis, read todays news!

Who cares which party caused what? Both parties created the mess? Society created the mess?? Greed created the mess:?:?

Why are people getting half million dollar mortgage only making $70,000 are they insane.

Good will come out of this crisis companies will bring back layway and let people pay for the product before its out of the door. The credit crisis will change the delivery and distrubtion of goods and service to reflect people ability to pay.

Probadly, the next five years will be wide v shaped recession because people, peons, billionares, CEOs, Shareholders need to clean up the balance sheets.

Remember overregulation can cause preverted incentives too

what your thoughts are on my political opinion

Politcal reality is pragmatism and stonewalling to ensure wingnuts dont runs thing to the ground. Let the Rational take over!!! People seem to forgot about Eastern Europe and the Oppression they suffered under Soviet Control the only thing communism did was spread misery among all equally.
America will never be cradle to grave like like Sweden or Norway, but the key to freedom is transpracy and openness to information. 5 billion ways to redistrubute a pie, but politcal freedom always is inherant in all human beings. Going back before 1980 with 70% on the wealthest one percent did n0thing to encorage freedom it encourage tax evasion schemes and living it up in Jamaica.

The truth about welfare!

Half the population pays no taxes right now!! Its the upper 50% of the income bracket really paying taxes and asking for more money from the upper 50% is wrong. People refusing to work is a drain on the taxpayer, and it erodes the person self worth not to be working. Second, explain to small business owner why his or her hard should pay for people to be on the dole as a lifestyle. Society is willing to give hand up to those able work to work, but not long term handout at the expense of the taxpayer , No way!!!!

Republican party will rebuild because it does not want to be opposition party for the next 40 years. Republican party langauge will be modifed with taking out language or rhetortic playing on racism, and the Southern Stratergy from the post civil rights startegy should put out to die. Democrat party is giving the population communism 2.0 with Radical enivromentalism that where the Republican should hit hard and fast. The abortion issuse and gay marriage are wedge issuses, but Radical Enivromentalism should be bigger wedge issuse. Republican party should become way more open on immigration, and more supportive of programs that help minorites. The Republicans should swing further right on energy policy and refuse to help the democrats on green technology that is funded by the taxpayer. Also, oppose any tax increases the democarts throw along the way.

Not in Europe just look at race riots in Europe of 2006 in France, and Neo Nazi brownshirt thugs marching allover Germany, France, Untied Kingdom. The Americas like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Brazil more likely to occur becuase the diversity is similar to Untied States.

The truth about welfare!
Posted: 11/5/2008 6:59:03 PM
The far left does not get it that welfare is drain on society of all economical classes. First, people on welfare should be required to look for job or take educational job training classes. Second, people with limited mental or phyiscal abilites should have wages subdized for work as incentive to reduce welfare payrolls. Third, welfare hopping from state to state should involve felonies that result in serving time in prison.

Until welfare is allowing indivuals to purchase a second car, or yacht even... I'll just focus my attention one what's really hurting my tax dollars ego. Welfare? More like Well its fair for the poor, but unfair for the wealthy.

Mean this type of welfare

These large subsidies on employer benefits are one reason affluent citizens tend to benefit from the hidden welfare state the most. These plans and benefits are usually available in larger companies, unionized companies, and better paying occupations.

Also, tax expenditures often benefit activities that the less affluent can not afford to engage in, such as owning a home. The majority of tax expenditures go to people who earn more than the median income.[3] Who benefits from the visible welfare state seems to be more equal. Most benefits of the visible welfare state go to people with average income. Christopher Howard research reveal that one quarter of direct spending goes to public assistance and three- quarter goes to social insurance and that the visible welfare state serves a far greater proportion of individuals below the poverty line than does the hidden welfare.[3] Only about 5 percent of tax expenditures are targeted at people at or near the poverty line.[3] Many Americans are aware of the national housing policies that help the poor through subsidized rent or public housing, however, it is misleading to think of U.S. housing programs as small and only targeted at the poor. Many middle and upper class people benefit from housing programs because most housing programs are administered through the tax code rather than appropriations. .[2]

I agree this grabage works both ways. That is why the goverment is bigger than it needs to be.

Fake flyers distributed in Virginia and Lousiana.

Fake flyers, False Robo Calls, move voting location fraud been in American since 1776. Election of 1876 His Fraudulency Rutherford Haynes supporters and cronies paid people to vote Republican in Ohio and Indiana. Kennedy won the 1960 election with dead voters in Chicago. Cell Phones should be banned from the voting booth now days to prevent Republicans or Democrats to pay you for your vote from people taking cell phone photos on how they voted. Think votes should be counted by hand and no computers since computers can be hacked to fix results. Fraud in elections will always occur that why America has electoral college. The electoral college allows electors chosen by state legislature to vote against the winner of election if they suspect the winner committed fraud in winning the electoral votes. Untied States is only developed country with elections that are 3rd world like

If George W bush is doing so bad why is the economy doing so good?
Posted: 11/3/2008 10:29:23 PM
Economy does not matter because banking problem is another bubble like the Dot Com bubble. Bush, Obama, McCain does not matter which one takes power the recession will be longer than 2001 and 1991 recession because the banking crisis. The solution to the crisis is not from Barney Frank nor Ron Paul mouth The economic recovery is gonna mean trying to raise productivity rather creating new hedge funds. Second, Bush is not 100% at fault for the banking crisis because buyer was greedy as much as lender. Third, economy built on consumption based growth has limits unless innovation increases to make goods cost less to create. Finally, we need free trade with Europe, Latin America, Asia, yet we need reform healthcare before we can except to have manufacturing jobs return. The reason healthcare reform is needed to remove the employer based system and borrow ideas from the Netherlands to build universal system that covers everyone but keeps the private sector in place with healthcare.

The truth about welfare!
Posted: 11/3/2008 10:13:13 PM
The 10% that abuse welfare system should be more aggressively proscuted for welfare fraud. Welfare intention was to help out the disabled physically or mentally incapable of working get by. Over time, welfare was abused by small group gaming to collect multiple welfare checks off the taxpayer. Still, we should give wage supports to low wage workers working full-time a little wage subsidy working. Start to penalize people who can work and refuse too work with welfare payments cut off. States should create centralized databased to track welfare payments to people to ensure once they are cut off welfare. they cant collect payments. Welfare needs to setup as hand up not a handout, which means creating incentives to get job training so the taxpayer does not have to support you.

Welfare reform should make work pay because working is about self worth. People working full-time at low wages should get help, while people on welfare for more than 5 years should be cut off period.
The women who keep getting pregnant just so they can make more money????
That example is why people get disgusted with welfare itself. Welfare should be hand up not a handout to live on.

Sick of Two Party Politics?
Posted: 10/22/2008 9:47:25 PM
I say bring on top two primary system.

If every state did what the state of washington did we could get rid of Che Guvea leftists to Theocratic Rightists out of the US house.

Next month, Oregon voters will decide whether to adopt a top two primary election system. It's already in use in Washington State. This is where the two candidates with the most votes in a primary race move onto the general election

Of course the extermists on both parties make comments like this:

ESSER: "It just is going to be a more and more common phenomenon where the voters are deprived of a genuine choice and a genuine debate between the two major parties in large parts of the state and that's the untold story that Oregon voters need to be aware of."

It reduce demoguages in both parites. The moral not every GOP person belives God told them that world is flat, and not every Democrat belives abortion should be legal.

Both parties need to be big tent parties again???

Former Secretary of State Phil Keisling, a Democrat, has tirelessly pushed the idea for several years now, arguing that it would force candidates to appeal to the center of the electorate right from the start.

The political parties hate the idea, saying that primaries are a chance for their members to decide who to put up in the general election. But no one was coming up with big bucks this summer when the initiative campaigns were getting rolling.

Why should there be more redistribution of wealth?
Posted: 10/22/2008 9:25:51 PM
"Redistrubtion of weath should be used to reduce absolute poverty" People on the left take it overboard and turn into a class warfare with inequality.

The right wing does not realize that some social benefits are less to the taxpayer and lower crime.

The key is knowing where to draw the line, and Democrats and Republicans dont know where to draw the line.

Relative Poverty like complain like the CEO makes 20 million and we line workers make 30,000 a year. Sorry, peeps you wanna make more money work more hours, or get job skills upgraded. Majority of people know where to draw the line, but the politicans dont because they need to give handouts to ensure reelection.

opec's emergency meeting
Posted: 10/22/2008 8:55:37 PM
Al-Badri and Medvedev met two days before OPEC is expected to agree on an output cut to prop up falling prices, which are in danger of making production and investment unprofitable. Russia's state and private oil producers alike need to invest heavily to replace output from depleting fields.

Russia was not going to cut its crude output, but he reiterated plans to set aside several oil fields as backup capacity to influence world prices. He also said the government was studying the idea of further reducing oil export duties.

Guess what? Russia cant just turn off the oil because the pipes will freeze in sibera that is billions more than is lost selling it. Russia will store oil and release it when the Sultans or Hugo say so???
