World of Warcraft

Toons name is an 85 horde blood elf warrior named Epicent on Emerald Dream. Part of a guild called Warsong Battallion. We are capped with 1000 people and have a ton of great pvpers. I used to pve, now all I do is pvp (Die clickers Die). I suprise the hell out of people by raping there face with my currently gimped warrior in 1v1 duels. Side note: I server transferred to Emerald Dream due to the fact that the world pvp is ridiculously good there as most servers it is now shit. (Currently looking forward to Guild Wars 2 also)

Evolution vs Creationism/Intelligent Design

if you don't have to neither do i,... you posted that chimps share more dna then a cousin or uncle,... i was being just as silly as you... the fact is, we take a small amount of similar dna strands, and compare them with other species, and chimps are a pretty close match,... so are mice. so are you more related to a mouse then you are your aunt flow? lol

Wow, way to prove the stereotypes right. What I mean by that is you really do show how stupid you are with these constant posts that are just completely inaccurate. I NEVER said anything about cousins or uncles. I said siblings (brothers or sisters) have only 50 percent of your DNA. <-------This is a fact. Just because some juice head monkey says it isn't correct doesn't mean it isn't true. Google is your friend................well, or juice I suppose.

Lol. I hear ya bro. I just changed out the PSU on mine. My old one was shorting out or something. Working fine now. Cost me zero cause it was an older one but since I game it is very temporary. I only have like 3 gigs of ram currently and a 32 bit OS. I was gonna upgrade my computer but I'm really thinking since its like 5 years old now I'll just go ahead and build one from scratch.

PoF strangely active in matchmaking on an emotional level?
Posted: 8/2/2012 8:13:30 PM
I started talking to a female a few days ago. It takes ALOT to hold my interest but this girl does it exceptionally well. I have never been to the chemistry section on this site and low and behold she was the very first one on the list. Coincidence or do these matchmaking questions actually work?

To say that all moral foundations and teachings world-wide are based upon the ethics and teaching of the Ten Commandments is simply false.......or perhaps you've never been to the middle east. Also, I'd like examples of these events in the bible that have come to fruition. Also, please explain to me why the bible contradicts itself in several ways. One example off the top of my head is that Judas died hanging himself. (yes i have read the bible cover to cover) Yet in another book in the bible it states that Judas walked into a field and died with his insides falling out. Please explain this contradiction sir.

The Future—Humans, Computers/Robots, and Intelligence
Posted: 8/1/2012 11:33:30 PM

The best indicator of intelligence is probably complexity. A personal computer may have 250 million transistors. The human brain has from 100 to 500 trillion synapses or connections. Computers operate near the speed of light and the human brain is chemical. So while the computer is about one million times faster, the human is a million times more complex. Intelligence wise, humans are one million times smarter than computers. Computers may have the intelligence of an amoeba.

While robots can do a single task very well, they cannot approach the multitasking and decision making of humans because, compared to humans, their computer brains are not very complex.

Now there is a law called Moore's Law that states computers will double in size and complexity every two years. I don't believe Moore's can hold up indefinitely because there is a practical limit to the size of computer chips. However, if Moore's Law holds up for another 40 years then the number of transistors in a computer will approach the number of synapses in the human brain. At that point they may be as complex as the human brain and have intelligence comparable to humans and they will still operate about one million times faster. Assuming robotics advance at the same rate, robots should be able to most of the tasks that humans now do such as washing dishes, mowing lawns, cleaning house, and many other simple to more complex tasks.

At that point, I don't that we would need schools anymore. If you have a question that is now in any library you would ask your computer for the answer. If Moore's held up for another ten years (fifty years from now) computers would be 30 times smarter than humans. Humans would still be in charge and the computers would not take over because natural selection (self-preservation, survival of the fittest, and selfishness) evolves over millions of generation, but in enough time. However, because computers would be so much more intelligent, humans would make few decisions without consulting their computer. Robots would surely be able to do all the needed tasks quicker and better so I don't know what humans would do.

Does anyone have any idea on the future in regards to computers and robots?

I actually think Moore's law will, if anything, begin to multiply at an even faster rate. Think about it. Right now most of the world's computers work on a binary system. However I have read about super computers that operate on more than just 0's and 1's which will increase the rate at which computers could process information to a great degree. But hell, I'm still waiting for ipv6 to come into play so I guess we will see.

Evolution vs Creationism/Intelligent Design
Posted: 8/1/2012 11:27:55 PM

Umm....WHAT argument are you speaking of? I gave my reasons (very few of them at that) why I believe in ID. Regardless of what you keep saying..... your "argument" has no more merit than what I'm saying. There are MANY scientist that believe in God or ID. There are many books out there that are written by scientist where they give their "scientific" view on the existence of God. Maybe you should put your physics book away for awhile and broaden your mind with one of these books?

You do realize that many scientists that believe in God ALSO believe in evolution right? Not believing in evolution is the equivalent to not believing that water doesn't exist. You can say it all you want but that doesn't make it true. Now, believing in God is the equivalent to believing in Santa........and we all see how that turned out.

Fair enough, but, that still doesn't explain how we made the jump from running through the trees to driving Priuses down the street.
Where did the spark come from?
If it was indeed evolution that got us here than did the first Man have to mate with a monkey to make another human? and then sleep with that one to make more? Doesn't science teach that incest breeds genetic defects?

Xane, this one is WAY TO EASY. Should I let you get it? lol. Again, there is a 99 percent sharing of genetic coding between humans and chimps. What this means is that through a mixture of natural selection, adaptation and possibly even genetic mutations, that 1 percent came about and formed humans. Evolution has NOTHING TO DO with seperate species mating. You sir pulled that out of your arse. I believe explaining how that one percent came about would be alot easier than you explaining the existence of God and YES the burden of proof is ON YOU for claiming that an invisible man is pulling all the strings behind the scenes.

The only thing that puts us on top is the fact that we have the biggest Encephalization Quotient. What this means is that our brain to body mass is larger than any other organism on the planet. Honestly, most of the questions you ask can be explained, by at least some degree, through science.

How does a tiger evolve orange and white and black stripes to blend into a forest that is primarily brown and green if it only sees in black and white?

What is the evolutionary advantage to a caterpillar being born so tiny, spending all that time growing into a larger caterpillar then wrapping itself into a silk cocoon, melting itself down into a "primordial ooze" and then rebirthing itself as a flying insect of a completely different form weeks later?

If we evolved from monkeys/apes, then why are there still monkeys/apes?

Mark 11:22
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

How is it that you only share approximately 50 percent of your genetic coding with a sibling and between 98 and 99 percent of your genetic coding with a chimpanzee? So, essentially, if you look at it from a factual and genetic aspect, The four proteins that make up your genetic coding in various form, you have more in common and are more closely related to a chimp than your own brother or sister, as long as they aren't an identical twin. You can spit out anything you want about genetics and why a tiger has various stripes but be prepared to be blown away on these forums if you don't first do you homework before posting idiocracy. And by the way, I'm AGNOSTIC not ATHEIST for....................christ.................sakes. (by the way, most of a tigers prey is color blind eliminating the need for camouflage. I could go on to answer every single question you posted but it seems like a complete waste when if you only did a little research I'm sure you could find the answers yourself. It blows my mind to find that people still think in this manner in this day and age.

Why don't you post something descent and half way intelligent and stop insulting people and being so condescending.

Um, first of all I believe it is spelled decent. Secondly, do you really want to start comparing posts when mine are based in science and logic and yours are based on emotions and "feelings"?

keepingcool: I notice the word "feel" coming from a certain side of this argument in a lot of different posts. I'll let you guys figure out what side that is. I will also let you figure out the relevancy or irrelevancy of using "feelings" in a scientific debate. You can probably guess what side I'm on.......

So when I say I feel there is so much more about the Universe, that we......as humans, just aren't able to comprehend at this point....your saying I'm not allowed to use the word "feel"?

I have no words to alleviate the ridiculousness of your comment. In the future, strive to see things in the context in which they are presented then make an educated decision as to whether the context it was used in correlates to whatever you may have previously posted.
For the record, emotions and "feelings" aren't usually based in fact.

Of course God is real. If you don't do what he says you will burn in hell. But he loves you, oh and he wants your money. (I'm sure most of you have heard that quote before.) Also, most religious people are a product of the environment they were raised in. If it weren't a Christian Deity it would be Islamic, or Hindu.......take your pic. So you better pick the right religion kiddies, or you are screwed. :) I am personally somewhat of an agnostic. I base all my believes off of simple logic, research and fact. And while the existence of a "higher being" cannot be disproven, it also cannot be proven. Again, you can guess what side of the issue I lean towards on this one. Also, research the Egyptian God Horace. This God is older than Christ by a few thousand years and shares strikingly eerie resemblances to him.

Jesus was the “only begotten son” of the god Yahweh.
Horus was the “only begotten son” of the god Osiris.
The mother of Jesus was Mary. Sometimes referred to as Maria (Gospel of Mark) or Miriam.
The mother of Horus was Meri.
The foster father of Jesus was Joseph
The foster father of Horus was Jo-Seph
The birth of Jesus was heralded by a star in the East (where the Sun rises in the morning)
The birth of Horus was heralded by the star Sirius (the morning star)
After the birth of Jesus, Herod tried to have him murdered
After the birth of Horus, Herut tried to have him murdered
Jesus was taken from the desert in Palestine up a high mountain to be tempted by his arch-nemesis Satan.
Horus was taken from the desert of Amenta up a high mountain to be tempted by his arch-rival Set.
Jesus was known as the Christ (which means “anointed one”)
Horus is known as KRST, the anointed one.
Jesus is identified with the Tau (cross)
Horus was identified with the Tau

These are only a VERY SMALL portion of the similarities between the two. But I'm sure the people on the religious side of the fence are right, and in NO WAY could religion have ever been created as a tool to control certain aspects of society. Oh, and pigs fly.

Not only are the plain janes nice, I kind of have a fetish for average looking women for some reason. Not ugly women, just not supermodels. All the really "hot" women look the same to me and all look like that stupid fake porn on the net. They are quite ridiculous.

can't get to POF anymore !
Posted: 8/1/2012 1:42:33 PM

Actually, the router is responsible for sending network packets from his home network to his ISP. His ISP is responsible for forwarding the packets to the next destination based on the routing tables in their servers. Since his ISP's routing tables are always sending his packets to a server that can't forward his packets, what I suggested sends the packets from his network to Googles network which has different routing tables and can possibly forward them using a different route. It's worth a shot.

Actually, the way that DNS is reserved is not just through your router. It first checks on your individual computer for a file. The name of the file is hosts. You could essentially edit that file and make say(example) facebook.com go to plentyoffish.com If it cannot resolve the DNS from this file it then goes to your router, THEN it goes to a public server. So, I would first try to edit the hosts file to the proper ip. Although since you tried manually typing in the ip address and it didnt work I doubt it would solve the issue.

I have read that ready boost is effective for anything 2 gigs or less. That being said I'd give it a go. Not like its a hard thing to enable and disable :P Guess it would depend on the type of ram also. Certain OS have limitations as well.

No, you should be fine. The only way a user could take control of your desktop is by either physically installing some type of remote desktop program on your computer or perhaps doing some type of port forwarding which would require the user to be on the same network as you. The other option would be to trick you into downloading or phishing your info to get access to your account via email, fake website (fake pof, facebook etc. site that would look identical to the real site only the user could extract your user info upon entry) Usually what phishers are after are things like your social, credit card info.....stuff to turn a profit. As long as you didn't give any of that info you may be fine.

You meet someone fine, but don't overanalyze the issue. I mean, do you really want some attention ***** who can't give you the time of day because they are literally messaging 30 or 40 guys? I have even had women whom I have never talked to before message me and then not respond. Don't take to much stock in it. Alot of people on here don't know what they want.

It sounds to me like if she is having these issues she needs to talk to a shrink and get out of whatever situation that is causing her to be miserable. Keep your chin up. Remember she lost the luxury of coming to you for any help when she left you for another man. I know its hard but have some self respect, stand up straight and keep your eyes straight ahead. I would be firm with her and let her know its over, because it sounds like it really needs to be. Just my 2 cents :)
