are you over your ex?

Lets get one thing clear here people. You are for want of a better way of saying it , what's in your memory. I can still remember a little girlfriend at junior school and while there was nothing sexual we were very attached. I sat next to her, I carried her books home from school, she would read me Rumple Stilt Skin, and her mum gave me milk and biscuits. The rest of the boys in the class were rightly jealous as she was very pretty and very bright. Long story short. It all ended with the teacher knocking our heads together because we were chatting too much. Really folks unless you are unfortunate enough to get Altziemers you will truly never forget or completely get over a loved one. I remember every girl I ever went out with and still harbour deep love and affection for most of them. Dam, it's only fair since they put up with me.
I was married for 35yrs and looking back on the last period I'd say that I had as much to do with her dumping me as she did with all the lies and deceipt. My ex says she wants to be friends also but amongst other things I said to her was "surely that won't be fair on your new guy." Which finaly seemed to do the trick and stop her from wanting to visit. In truth it was hurting me more and more and I hope she see's that too. The lord only knows I said it often enough. There is one bit of advice which I think works. Keep talking and be honest. That's where we went wrong. Love to all of you and the best of luck with your new partners.

Shopping horror!

I know I'm not alone when it comes to, shall I say avoiding shopping, you know the Super market type! I have a theory which is possibly wrong but I think that above every entrance to food halls there is an inaudible brain-washing signal which makes many people into zombies or worse.
They stop to chat in the most awkward of places. They loose their manners. They push and shove or run over your toes or into your heels with their trolleys. I've found I have to constantly dodge, swerve, stop, or excuse myself. I had an occasion recently where I was loading the belt and a woman began loading her stuff on as well until I asked her if she was in a hurry. It was only then that she seemed to realise what she was doing! Yes it's crowded and no one wants to be there but please. Of course these comments don't apply to everyone do they?

Flesh exposure, when is too much too much???

Amazing how personal people take this sort of thing and in particular the ladies! Live and let live is the way I like to do it. Oh and trim my nails! Let the young have their moment as it soon passes. Having said that if you think you've got it flaunt it but (bare) in mind other people may not agree. I select what I like and discard the rest when it comes to visual. Like the man says there are many reasons for lack of attire and of course it's difficult swiming in an overcoat. So just refocus.

Can someone explain hooliganism to me?
Posted: 6/15/2007 11:05:09 PM
Hooliganism: A word which discribes any non conforming behaviour, where ever, what ever, by who ever. Even my mum used to call me a hooligan. I think that just about covers it.

Do you think you think rationally?

I think I do. Well sometimes. Most times. Well maybe not most times. But then again sometimes I don't. But sometimes I do. There have been occasions when I haven't. Yeah but no but yeah but. Oh I think I'l just plump on this one.

dislexics

I may have a different problem with word recognition or learning (Dyslexia). When very young I had far more important things to do than worry about placing letters in their conventional sequence in order to pass a test! What when there was football to play! However most of the teachers insisted on it to the point where I was caned if I didn't (Try). One even threatened not to allow me to play football for my school on Fridays if I didn't get a certain percentage of the weekly test correct. Thankfully he was flexible in his judgements and I played every week. Back to the classroom... I, before E, except after C. HUH! Then there are words such as Angel and Angle which still make me pause... or is it paws! I'm guessing now but it's perhaps the English language with it's core of words made-up from many different languages added to which there is regional enunciation and accent that makes my life difficult. That and slang and texting and jargon and technical and typ'os and, and, and, ad infinitum. Texting caught me out and cost me time and money until I too had to give in to a new convention. I have a friend who has on occasion asked me to proof read his letters as he struggles with spelling and position. However if I can read and make sense of it then I'm sure most others can too. I have only one reservation about spell checkers and that is they make me lazy. However I use them all the time as they save my dictionarybecoming dog-eared! I guess the final word has to be that we all must try to conform to a set standard as to do without would be even more confusing. (See Yanky spelling for instance.)
