Why should I believe in aliens?

Some of us are actually pretty good at not only reading and understanding the science, but at understanding how many fields are interdependant. [sic] Believing in "aliens", in the sense of sapient extraterrestrial visitors to this planet, is not supported by any evidence. - FrogO eyes

Why should I believe in aliens?

The universe is a pretty big place, with millions of stars and planets. If they are no aliens, it's a colossal waste of space. - Mominatrix

I'm with Mom.

There are billions of stars and galaxies, and to think that this primitive, war-torn, blood-sodden, diseased hole of a corner of space has the only life is simply burying your head in the sand. Even ostriches have the sense not to do that.

The existence of other, more horrible, crimes doesn't diminish the pure evil that was the Holocaust. - Beaugrand®™©

Schindler's List and Escape from Sobibor and Anne Frank's Diary are just three of many propaganda films about holocausts of one kind and another. Billions of dollars of lovely profit have been coined from films like these - demonizing the Nazis and the German people for standing by and doing nothing. Some people, believing the propaganda, actually think that only Jews were killed at the concentration camps. Again, more propaganda. Loverly, loverly propaganda. Bums on seats conditioned to watch the sanitized news and the 'movies.' Drink it up. Believe every word we say. I mean, it's on the movies, so it must be real.

How many blockbusters have been made about Japan's notorious, monstrous, unimaginably evil Unit 731? Do you know of any? I don't. And I doubt if you asked 100 people on the street today about Unit 731 if they could even tell you who they were and what they did. But when it comes to the evil Nazis . . . well, everyone knows about them.

And speaking of holocausts - and history is replete with them, but we know which one we are talking about - do you know that the United Nations, that interesting organization founded by Communists, has just decided that anyone who dares to deny the holocaust is suffering from a mental illness and is 'punishable'?

In other words, the beast on the East River, the UN, will punish you if you think for yourself, if you dare to question or deny.

The holocaust is being used as a cruelly manipulative ploy (how many people know that Hitler was partly funded by Zionists?). It is also an unbelievably profitable business for the Hollywood moguls.

Hitler called for European nationalism as a response to Communism, liberalism and internationalism. Both Stalin and Mao were Communists, committed to Communist world domination - as Henry Ford explained so long ago. Communist egalitarianism is a sham, intended to divide the loyalties of ethnically related peoples. Hitler is still demonized today because if the Left is to achieve its dream of world conquest, it cannot permit the rise of nationalism - or the validation of nationalist aspirations from the past.

. . . the likes of Dr. Josef Mengela [sic] during the NAZI reign. This information may save or improve countless lives. But, it was obtained through practices such as human vivisection (diesecting [sic] a live person) and even worse (if that can be imagined). - dr. mike

I watched a documentary recently about Japan's invasion of the Chinese mainland in 1931. Japan invaded Manchuria, a northeastern region of China. For the next 16 years, the Japanese army ruthlessly killed more than 30 million Chinese people, a majority of them civilians (96%) and destroyed hundreds of billions of dollars in property. However, the number of people killed is not the most astounding part. It was the manner in which these people died that was horrific.

Nanjing, the then-capital of China, was made into an example for all China and the world to showcase the power of Japan. On December 12, 1937, the city of Nanjing fell to Japan. What happened next is six weeks of unspeakable terror, and what later became known as 'The Rape of Nanjing.' Before the city fell, half of the one million residents of Nanjing escaped. The rest were either too weak to travel or were fooled by the smiling propaganda poster of the Japanese government. These people were subjected to the ruthless games by Japanese soldiers. They engaged in what was known as 'Bushido' or killing contests, in which the soldiers tried to see who could kill the fastest. Chants of "Kill and count, kill and count" were heard on the streets. Live burials, mutilation and torture were commonplace in Nanjing. "They nailed prisoners to wooden boards and ran over them with tanks, crucified them on trees and electric posts, carved long strips of flesh from them and used them for bayonet practice. At least one hundred men reportedly had their eyes gouged out and their noses and ears hacked off before being set on fire." (Chang 87). Not even babies were spared. "They were tossing babies up in the air and bayoneting them as they came down or throwing them into vats of boiling water." (Gergen). Neither did women escape the cruelty of the Japanese soldiers. There were more than 20,00 women raped, the second largest mass rape in known history (The Nanjing Massacre). Women weren't the only ones raped (Chang 89). All humanity had left the Japanese soldiers. "In terms of measures and cruelty of genocide, its duration and large numbers of people killed," says professor of history of Southern Illinois University, "neither Hiroshima nor Jewish Holocaust can rival the Nanjing Massacre." Indeed, there were 879 persons massacred per day in the killing machine of Auschwitz compared to 8,095 in Nanjing. In the end more than 300,000 people, more than half of the city's population before Japan's invasion, were slaughtered. This is undoubtedly the worst massacre that China has ever encountered.

Nanjing was not the only Chinese killing ground for the Japan. The others are even more and beyond belief, but all happened. The infamous Unit 731 of Japan is the worst of them yet. They were a unit made up of leading medical scientists in Japan designed to test chemical weapons on Chinese and others. A member of Unit 731, Nobuo Kamaden, speaking on the record for the first time, told US News that his main job at Pingfan was to breed plague bacteria. "We would inject the most powerful bacteria into rats. On a 500-gram rat, we would attach 3000 fleas. When the rats were released, the fleas would transmit the disease?" (Half Century). The effects left by these experiments are still being felt today. Other experiments include dissecting Chinese POWs without anesthesia, testing various poisons on them, freezing them, and other inhumane acts. Recently, even the Japanese Supreme Court said: "The fact that the Biological Warfare Unit 731 existed and killed Chinese through live experiments had been established beyond denial." Some infantries even engaged in eating people. These acts were documented in a memorandum found in the possession of a Japanese major General: " At times this consumption of flesh of the enemies was made into something of a festive occasion at officers' quarters." Human flesh was often served up as soup at these events (Roling 410). These crimes were well beyond International Law of War, of fair play, and of humanity.

And all people see, or want to see, is the big bad Nazi and the evil Hitler. Mmm?

I watched a film recently, A Town Like Alice, by Nevil Shute. The film is based upon actual events during WW2, where Japanese soldiers and officers force-marched a group of English genteel ladies across Sumatra in the steaming, boiling heat, without medicine, without food, and without one scrap of humanity shown to them. Many of them died in wretched conditions, in swamps and fields. I watch that film and my bood boils. What kind of man can inflict pain and suffering upon anyone, let alone a woman and children? And yet here was a precious karmic 'window' of opportunity for a group of men to help those less fortunate, to encourage them, support them, and provide those women and children with sustenance.

Frankly, when I think of the human race, I see us as being primitive creatures, with the knuckles dragging along the ground - beasts in suits. Thousands upon thousands of years go by, and still we don't learn our lessons. We are still massacring people, heaving rockets into cities where men, women and children live, bombing hospitals and schools because of this or that 'cause.' When will we wake up? When it's too late?

As an aside, how come none of the great scholars posting here can spell DILEMMA? - Merrylass

When I point out things like this I get banned by the Moderators - "Knock it off," they tell me - and my posting privileges are curtailed.

Anyway, very few people know that the word dilemma doesn't simply mean a 'problem.' It comes from the 'horns of the dilemma,' a situation in which no matter what choice you make, it will be far from satisfactory. It is like being offered a year in jail or six months' hard labour. Either way, you wouldn't want it.

Perhaps I am a little biased, but it doesn't seem to me that Hitler had all that many good ideas. - southern scion

Stalin murdered many more millions of people than did Adolf Hitler, and yet the latter gets all the bad press. (I think we're honest, we know why.)

If I had a thesis to write and it involved reference to Adolf Hitler, I wouldn't care tuppence, or even less than tuppence, what other people thought, said or did.

Adolf Hitler was for Germany and the German people. That was his credo. He raised the standard of living for Germans, which is a lot more than can be said for bought-and-paid-for New World Order puppets like Tony Blair and Gordon Brown in Britain, a country collapsing at the seams through illegal immigration, drugs, soaring crime and heartbreaking unemployment.

Actually, Clinton was quite intelligent. I got news for you, they are all adulterers. - greenarrow13

I know what you're saying, Arrow. My years of research about the coming New World Order and the post-2012 era has opened my eyes. The people may 'vote' for a new president, but it's still the same old horse going in the same direction. Only the jockey changes, but the people love the glitz and the glam and the hand-clapping and the eye-rolling and the stars and the banners. It makes them feel good, deep inside, as if they have actually accomplished something.

If only they knew who was behind all this. If only they knew how manipulated and hypnotized they are.

"If the people knew what we had done, they would chase us down the street and lynch us."

It seems like intelligence is the dominant trait that allows one to rise to the top in contemporary society. ~ greenarrow13

Intelligence? What about George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, the latter being a liar and an adulterer, and yet he is seen by people as a 'great guy'?

I would say cunning. Devious and cunning - like a bog rat.

The gene pool of the black population has, though [sic] the sad event of slavery . . . ~ bengalblue

Slavery has not just been a white-on-black affair, if you read your history books. The Greeks and Romans had slaves, white slaves, many of whom died in the savage 'games' as lions and tigers ripped the skin off them as the bored crowd fanned themselves and watched the proceedings with amusement.

Here in New Zealand, according to the official history books, the Maoriori were the first humans to reach and colonize this country. Then came the Maori. The Maori were noted for their cannibalism and their slavery, although modern-day apologists try desperately to keep those details off the radar. It is no longer PC to hear about the Maori and their evil deeds.

As far as Maori or Maoriori being the first humans to reach and colonize New Zealand, a little research - that's non-PC research - shows that Stonehenge-like structures, built long before the 'native New Zealanders' came here, can be seen across the North Island, structures that modern-day NZ governments do not even admit exist. (See Ancient Celtic New Zealand by Martin Doutré, an excellent book, which contains amazing and valuable research.

I rub a weary and jaundiced eye when I hear of the white man and his notorious slavery. My shoulders are not wide enough to contain all the guilt.

Let's be clear about this, slavery is not a black-and-white issue. There are many bloodstained black hands in the history of slavery. Africans had been trading and owning slaves for millennia. These were black men owning black men and women. There were also freed slaves in America who went on to own slaves in their own right. Joseph Cinque, ringleader of the mutiny on the slave ship La Amistad after being exonerated by the US Supreme Court returned to Africa and became - a slave trader.

Today, if I want to know the capital of a state, I go to google. ~ gwendolyn2008

Whereas, when I want to know the capital of a state - and I presume you mean American state - I reach into my mind and find the answer there. (Remember when people had brains?)

I am continually surprising people with my knowledge of American states and Canadian provinces. People from the US and Canada on holiday here in New Zealand are blown away that someone not from their shores would bother to know the provincial capital of Nova Scotia, for instance, without running into an Internet cafe, plugging in, and searching a computer for the answer. Why bother, when it's easier to know it after you've studied the subject?

I can just imagine Who Wants to be a Millionaire? on television, and the host asks the team, say, how many US Presidents have been assassinated. Suddenly, the contestants vanish in a cloud of cyberdust as they head into town for their nearest Internet cafe, breathlessly rushing back to the studio with the answer.

Nah, I don't think so. I agree with Scorpiomover, when he said: "That is the main problem with our marketplace today. We've dumbed everyone down."

Here's to knowledge. Here's to intelligence. Here's to an inquisitive and probing mind - and all without the 'aid' of Google.

Soul Union are you celebrating the 25oth anniversary of Robbie Burns birth all this year? ~ ZenBeth

Thanks for the question, ZenBeth. I don't think so. I never really liked his poetry. I am more of a Tennyson fan, although John Clare's sparse but potent poetry also gets my attention. I urge you to read I Am, which was written in a mental hospital in England, an asylum, at the end of his life.

WOW and I thought I and my friends were the only ones who wondered about this. I have had this same discussion with so many people lately. Makes one wonder if this is how species die off. ~ ZenBeth

I am 55 years of age, and when I was at primary school back in Scotland we were taught our multiplication tables, right up to 12x12.

I was buying the weekly groceries in the supermarket the other day with my flatmate (we split the groceries 50/50) and the bill came to $220. The woman behind the counter was no teenager, not by any stretch of the imagination, but she flew into a panic when we asked her to split the bill 50/50. She ran around like a headless chicken, searching for a calculator to work the 'problem' out. I curled an incredulous lip. Obviously relieved, with a big smile, she punched in the digits and came up with the answer = "$110 each, boys."

This is only one example I have noticed with today's intelligence. I could give you another example. There is a 25-year-old teacher working in McDonald's nearby, an intelligent and capable woman, who is on holiday for six months. She is working at McDucks to finance her stay here in New Zealand. She and I get on well, both being Scots, and we have interesting conversations. I was sitting at my usual table one day, reading a biography about Robert Louis Stevenson, when she came over and asked what I was reading. I turned the front cover towards her. "Mmm," she said, "Robert Louis Stevenson. Who he?" I found it absolutely astonishing that an educated woman like her, a teacher, with a teaching degree, a woman from Edinburgh, the same city that Robert Louis Stevenson was born, had never heard of this man - surely one of the most famous authors ever to put pen to paper. I looked at her, smiling, and replied: "Tell me you're kidding. This is some kind of April Fool's, right?"

This is an example, one of many, I could give you. Something is going wrong with people today, and it is showing up in so many ways. For instance, on New Zealand television we hear announcers saying things like: "They bought it with them," instead of brought it with them (whatever 'it' was). And this: "It is a fine poduct," instead of fine product. And: "It will pobably rain tomorrow," instead of probably. The English language is being demolished at an alarming rate, especially here in New Zealand.

As for being intelligent, one doesn't have to be a genius to secure positions in the highest levels of society. Look at George W. Bush, the outgoing President. This man could hardly string a coherent sentence together.

Humans created by Aliens: Plausible theory?
Posted: 3/5/2009 8:29:36 PM
This is the subject that started this whole thread. It is a theory about Sumerian Tablets, that a fellow named Stitchin translated, I know it goes back to post one.

The theory is that these tablets state that aliens came along and interacted with the humans, and mated with them.. Which is one of the theories, another is that they helped man kind become intelligent, and more like them. ~ nexthyme

I thought it might be helpful to mention a book called Nephilim Stargates: The Year 2012 and the Return of the Watchers, by Thomas Horn.

Here is an editorial review of this book:

One myth from the history of every great civilization spoke of beings descending from heaven and using human and animal DNA to create giant offspring. Rabbinical authorities, Septuagint translators and early Church fathers understood this as a factual record of history. The phenomenon began with the Watchers, who spawned Nephilim, resulting in judgment from God. The ancients also knew Bible passages that predict the Nephilim will return when Iraq and Iran are invaded and destroyed. Is this prophecy about to be fulfilled? Is man, in his rush to play God through biological weapons, biotechnology, and genetic manipulation, opening gateways to a supernatural unknown? Nephilim Stargates and the Return of the Watchers is a glimpse into this past, present, and future phenomena, with an eye on what sages and scientists believe and what futurists and prophets may fear. Thomas Horn is CEO of Raiders News Network, a syndicated columnist, and the bestselling author of The Ahriman Gate. He has written two other books as well as dozens of published editorials and magazine articles. His works have been referred to by writers of the LA Times Syndicate, MSNBC, Christianity Today, Coast to Coast, World Net Daily, and White House Correspondents. Thomas resides outside Portland, Oregon.

And here is just one reader's comments after reading this book:

SwampFox:
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - From Hamlet (I, v, 166-167)

Over the last 100 years, it has been well documented that there are things happening in our world that just cannot be explained. Actually, it has been going on much longer than 100 years - in reality, since the beginning of time itself.

Conventional science has maintained, and would have us to believe, that nothing is going on - other than over-active imaginations or those suffering from severe cases of ADD. However, there are just too many witnesses and sources that have verified that many of these are real occurrences. The many sightings of UFOs, otherworldly beings and strange creatures by reliable witnesses have really happened. But, if they're real, what are they?

Some would have us to believe that these beings and those controlling the unidentified objects are simply benevolent beings who only wish to help humanity. But is that the case? Or, is it all part of a grand scheme of deception?

In his new book, Nephilim Stargates: The Year 2012 and the Return of the Watchers, Tom Horn delivers a wealth of research and information, both historical and current, that these are not benevolent creatures from another galaxy. Rather, they are ancient, evil beings from the spiritual dimension.

Tom Horn holds no punches in describing what he believes, in light of the Bible, are the plans of these beings. There are no flights of fancy here, only vividly frightening nightmares that few wish to accept as being real. We have a hard time comprehending how evil, evil really is. So, instead of accepting the truth, we tend to dismiss it out of hand. But, it's hard to dismiss what is actually taking place when it is placed directly in front of you as it is here.

No one can deny that current events are rapidly leading us to an extraordinary and potentially cataclysmic event. And, if Tom Horn is right, then surely we are living in the Last Days as described in the Word of God.

_______

Personally, I believe we have reached some kind of critical mass, call it End Times, call it Armageddon, call it what you will. Something big is happening right under our noses, but because it is right under our noses, we cannot see it. There are too many distractions with which to feed the masses today. Take The Simpsons, for example - that highly dysfunctional family, with the swearing, foul-mouthed, lying, dishonest, loud-mouthed, gun-toting Homer Simpson at the head. Agreed, it is only a cartoon, but how many people know the 'brains' behind this phenomenally successful programme? And how many people know why it was created? Believe me when I tell you it was not created for our benefit.

I read somewhere - I can't remember which book - that the US Government has succeeded in opening some kind of 'wormhole' in Time and Space, something that should never have been allowed to happen. I read, too, that this 'rip' in the cosmic curtain has created a 'hole,' through which some of the most hideous entities are now flooding into our world. I cannot recall the name of the book, it may have been in connection with the USS Eldridge, a ship that was 'transported' through Time and Space, to relocate in another part of the USA, killing many sailors and injuring many others in the process.

As the Amazon reviewer of the above book points out: "There are more things in heaven and earth . . . "

FYI ... Last I heard ... Pluto is no longer considered a Planet. Do you astrologers have something about how great the influence of the asteroids are in the asteroid belt ... that is much closer than Pluto. hmmm? There is lots of proof of Astrology ... right? and it fits right into Aliens creating humans ... right? ~ thorb

Hi Thorb. I think astronomers have demoted Pluto in some way, but there was a collective decision by astrologers to keep Pluto as the furthest planet in our zodiacal pantheon. When you have studied thousands of charts, when you hear of the profound life changes in people's lives because of Pluto, it is not a planet you would even consider leaving out. It tells us a great deal about the life of the individual.

Now you mentioned asteroids. There are several 'centaurs,' as they are called, but the one in primary use now among the astrological fraternity is Chiron. Chiron's 'picture' is that of the Wounded Healer. Where Chiron falls in your chart is where you will find your greatest lesson. For instance, my Chiron falls in my second house. This means that my greatest lesson in life (through the Chirotic energy) is to think more of myself, to value myself, and to see myself as an equal, not some inferior being.

More planetoids and asteroids are being added to the zodiacal pantheon as time goes by, but most astrologers use the traditional ten planets (Sun, Moon out to Pluto). For instance, one of the finest astrologers in the world, the American Noel Tyl, uses only the main ten planets. (We call the Sun and Moon 'planets' for the sake of convenience.)

There is a well-researched theory, and I cannot remember who wrote about this, that there was once a planet between Mars and Jupiter and that an ancient alien civilization caused the destruction of this planet with their equivalent of nuclear warfare while they were battling some other civilization, and that the asteroid belt is the remnants of the break-up of that planet. I forget the author's name, but he is quite a scholar of ancient civilizations, including non-human ones.

Yes, Thorb, there is plenty of proof for astrology. Noel Tyl has a waiting list longer than the queue to see a public hanging. He charges a great deal of money for a single-session consultation. His style, his erudition, his very essence are truly professional. He sees things that most astrologers don't, and he has written many books - among them my favourite, Synthesis & Counselling in Astrology.

As well, we haven't seen an INTH of the universes beyond our own solar system. ~ nexthyme

Right on the money.

I see the Earth, the planet upon which we live, as a single grain of sugar in a big bag. We are surrounded by millions of other bodies, planets, stars and galaxies. Put that bag in a warehouse, where there are thousands of such bags already. Stack 'em up high. . . . Now look how infinitely small, and feeble, we are - with our 'knowledge' and our so-called understanding.

The light from some of those stars out there has taken many years to reach us. Travelling at 186,000 miles a second, that gives us an inkling of how much is out there, and how far and away those heavenly bodies really are.

As an astrologer, I am constantly amazed, for example, by the influence of the planet Pluto. It is a tiny planet, smaller than our Moon, at the farthest reaches of our solar system, and yet its influence is mind boggling, as any astrologer will tell you. The first thing I do when I cast a chart is to track Pluto. His influence is, as I said, beyond the pale.

Our idea of 'facts,' our notion of knowledge, and our human understanding of what goes on around us are highly suspect, always changing according to what new data is collected.

As for the Illuminati, their ultimate goal is complete global control over human beings. Anyone dismissing the profound influence of the global elite has only to read about how the British Metropolitan police force will soon be microchipped - all in the name of 'security.' Or take the United Nations and their coming 'Codex Alimentarius.' Heard of that? Know anything about it? If Codex Alimentarius has its way, then herbs, vitamins, minerals, homoeopathic remedies, amino acids and other natural remedies you have taken for granted most of your life will be gone. The name of the game for Codex Alimentarius is to shift all remedies into the prescription/drug category so they can be controlled exclusively by the medical monopoly and its bosses (Big Pharma), the major pharmaceutical firms. This is what we have to look forward to by the end of 2009, if the lovely UN has its way. Here in New Zealand, where I live, the outgoing Labour government tried to pass a Bill that would outlaw natural medicines here, including vitamins, etc, from our health food stores. Fortunately, they did not have the numbers to pass the Bill. They never mentioned this before they were elected.

The Codex Alimentarius proposals already exist as law in Norway and Germany, where the entire health food industry has literally been taken over by the drug companies. In these countries, vitamin C above 200mg is illegal, as is vitamin E above 45IU, vitamin B1 over 2.4mg and so on. Shering-Plough, the Norwegian pharmaceutical giant, now controls an Echinacea tincture, which is being sold there as an over-the-counter drug at grossly inflated prices. The same is true of ginkgo and many other herbs, and only one government-controlled pharmacy has the right to import supplements as medicines, which they can sell to health food stores, convenience stores or pharmacies.

Another use of the codex law will be to irradiate all food that enters the food chain. Every vegetable, fruit, nut or piece of meat that you and I eat will be 'dead.'

The World Trade Organization (WTO) is forcing Codex Alimentarius upon the nations of the world, including the US. This would be done under the threat of massive economic sanctions if WTO countries do not comply with Codex Alimentarius. Big bully at work again - with their sanctions.

A world 'seed bank' has been built inside a remote mountain in Svalbard in Norway, and if you stop and question the need for this bank, backed by Bill Gates and the Rockefeller Foundation, you just might conclude that our flora is in 'danger.' These people know the truth of this because they are in danger.

The vault has top security, blast-proof doors and two airlocks. The number of seeds stored depends on the number of countries participating in the project. The point of this project is to prevent the diversity of agricultural crops currently stored (typically in the form of seed) in seed banks from becoming 'extinct' as a result of accident, mismanagement, equipment failure, war or natural disaster, or due to a global catastrophe.

This indicates that some kind of global 'disaster' is on the cards, whether 2012, later or sooner, governments around the world are preparing for this event. Australia has their Pine Gap, an underground 'city' with resident armies and highly trained personnel in the heart of the desert. A little research on Pine Gap will produce surprising results.

Also funny how there never seem to be reports of these flying machines over Asia, Africa, South America, Europe, USSR, etc. ~ Jiperly

Your ignorance is astounding but merely reflects the fact that you've not researched the area at all. There have been sightings all over the world. For God's sake, before you make such a ludicrous statement, do some reading on the subject. ~ Bluesman2008

I was reading a book the other day in the library, about UFOs, and one of the most famous sightings took place in Papua New Guinea. The story can be found on the website called www.ufocasebook.com/Papua.html

According to renowned UFO investigator Dr J Allen Hynek, one of the most well-documented "close encounters of the third kind" occurred in the Anglican mission village at Boianai, Papua New Guinea, which was, at the time of the incident, still a territory of Australia. The Australian Anglican Church was very involved in missionary work, and was ardent in sending its heralds to the island nation.
One of these was the Father William Booth Gill. Gill was highly thought of by his colleagues and all those who knew him. As far as the occurrence of extraordinary events was concerned, Gill was skeptical, to say the least, especially being a devoted Church worker.

The first hint of the events to come, began on April 5, 1959, when Gill saw a light on the uninhabited Mount Pudi. This light, Gill stated, moved faster than anything he had ever seen. A month or so later, his assistant, Stephen Moi, saw an "inverted saucer-shaped object" in the sky above the mission. Gill dismissed these sightings as some sort of electrical or atmospheric phenomena.

Little did he know that these events, whatever they were, had drawn their attention to the sky above them, and soon William Gill would have one of the most celebrated UFO sightings to ever be documented, which was validated by a whole group of additional witnesses.

This extraordinary event would take place at 6:45 PM, June 26, 1959. Father Gill saw what he described as a bright white light to the Northwest. Word spread quickly, and within a few moments Gill was joined by no less than 38 additional witnesses, including Steven Moi, Ananias Rarata, and Mrs Nessle Moi. According to sworn statements, these 30-plus individuals watched a four-legged, disc-shaped object approximately the size of five full moons lined up end to end. This unbelievable craft was hovering over the mission.

To their utter surprise, they saw four human-like figures that seemed to be performing a kind of task. Now and then one of the figures would disappear, only to reappear in a moment or two. A blue light would shine up from the craft at what seemed to be regular intervals. The witness watched the craft and its activities for a full 45 minutes, until the shining ship rose into the sky and disappeared at 7:30 PM. Glued to the sky, the witnesses would see several smaller objects appear at 8:30, and 20 minutes later, the first craft reappeared. This phenomenal occurrence would last an incredible four hours, until cloud cover obscured the view at 10:50. Father Gill prepared a full written report of this event, and 25 other observers signed the document.

This first sighting, a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, would incredibly be followed by another sighting the very next night. At 6:00 PM, the larger object appeared again, with its occupants. It was shadowed by two of the smaller objects.

In William Gill's own words: "On the large one, two of the figures seemed to be doing something near the center of the deck. They were occasionally bending over and raising their arms as though adjusting or "setting up" something. One figure seemed to be standing, looking down at us."

In a moment of anticipation, Gill raised his arms and waved to the figure.

"To our surprise the figure did the same. Ananias waved both arms over his head; then the two outside figures did the same. Ananias and myself began waving our arms, and all four seemed to wave back. There seemed no doubt that our movements were answered."

Gill and Ananias continued to occasionally wave, and their waves were returned. Another witness, Eric Kodawara, waved a torch, and there were acknowledgments from the craft. Gill went inside to eat, but when he came back, the craft was still there, only farther away (smaller). After a Church service, at 7:45, Gill again came outside to look for the craft, but clouds had appeared and there was no sight of the object. The very next evening, the shining craft would make one more appearance.

Gill counted eight of them at 6:45. At 11:20, Gill heard a loud bang on the roof of the mission. Going outside to see what had happened, he spied four UFOs in a circle around the building. These four craft were extremely high in the sky. The roof was checked for damage the next morning, but none was found.

The aftermath of the event would bring unsubstantiated explanations. The noted UFO debunker Dr Donald H Menzel offered his explanation thus: He claims that Father Gill, who suffered from myopia (nearsightedness), had "probably" not been wearing his corrective lenses and had misidentified the planet Venus, which was prevalent in the evening skies during this period. This was not true; Gill WAS wearing his glasses, and in either event, what about the other witnesses to the event?

Menzel also asserted that the Papuans were ignorant, native people who worshipped Gill, and believed anything he told them. This was a surefire way to debunk the 30-plus witnesses.

As to the Venus connection, Gill knew where Venus was during this sighting, and had even pointed it out separately to the unknown craft. Gill would be criticized for "leaving such an extraordinary sight" to go eat dinner, but his response is that he did not think of the craft as extraterrestrial at the time. He believed that it was an American or Australian craft, and that if it did land, that ordinary human beings would emerge.

Gill was scheduled to return to Australia soon, and it afforded an excellent opportunity to get his documentation of the case to the appropriate authorities. All investigators found Gill to be an intelligent, impressive individual. One of the most respected civilian groups, the Victorian Flying Saucer Research Society stated:

"Gill's reports constitute the most remarkable testimony of intensive UFO activity ever reported to civilian investigators. They were unique because for the first time credible witnesses had reported the presence of humanoid beings associated with UFOs."

So, as far as UFO activity being focused only in or around the States, whoever thinks this has not done his research. There was another famous case, which I won't go into in depth, which occurred in Australia some years ago. A family were driving to their home in the Western Australian city of Perth. They were driving through the night, when a bright light focused on their car. Before they knew it, the car was being lifted several feet into the air, dropped, picked up again, dropped . . . The UFO, or whatever it was in the night sky, was hell-bent on kidnapping the family. Apparently, the mother of the family, when interviewed by police in Perth, was almost out of her mind with fear.

But it's as you say, Bluesman, some people don't want to believe. They have their disbelief, and they are proud of it. They guard it faithfully, adding to it through scorn and ridicule meted out to others. At least the others have done their homework and know something about the subject.

Where I live - Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand - we occasionally see UFOs. About a year ago, at the tail end of summer, we saw two silver, tube-shaped objects flying about 4,000ft between Walter Peak and Shark's Tooth Mountain. No planes fly in the direction they were flying - at least not since I moved here seven years ago. There was no smoke. No exhaust. No wings. No sound. And they both flew at the same height and at the same speed. We only saw these objects for about 20 seconds, long enough to get a good look at them as they flew over Lake Wakatipu, which our house overlooks from about 1,000ft up. We have seen many strange objects in the sky - we know what satellites look like - including, one night in winter, the strangest thing. The sky was encrusted with layer upon layer of stars, like sparkling gems, sharp and clear to infinity. The Milky Way was a sight to behold! And then, suddenly, a brilliant white 'beam' of light fixed itself across the night sky. It was like someone switched a light on. Bang! There it was - this solid white light, ruler-straight and even on both sides, the sides being from left to right at least 20 miles wide. We watched this for about 10 seconds, and then, as suddenly as it appeared, it disappeared, as if it had been turned off. It could not have been laser lights, because the 'beam' was far too wide. In fact, it may have been far wider than 20 miles. We still don't know what to make of it.

My flatmate, who is usually a sceptic, now has an open mind since coming to Queenstown. His mind was opened even further when he spoke to a local sheep station owner, a man who told him about a huge circular 'scorch' mark in one of his paddocks. But that's another story, for another time.

You are kidding, right? Reports come in from all over the globe...from all walks of life. ~ Twister239

Yes, you're right, Twister. Reports come from all walks of life and from all areas of the globe.

Here is a fragment of a conversation between NASA ground control and the astronauts of Apollo 11. According to a former NASA employee, Otto Binder, unnamed radio hams with their own VHF receiving facilities that bypassed NASA's broadcasting outlets picked up the following exchange:

NASA:Whats there? Mission Control calling Apollo 11.

Apollo11 These "babies" are huge, sir. Enormous. Oh my God. You wouldn't believe it. I'm telling you, there are other spacecraft out there, lined up on the far side of the crater edge. They're on the moon, watching us.

One of the original 'Mercury' astronauts is Major Gordon Cooper. On May 15, 1963 he shot into space in a 'Mercury' capsule for a 22-orbit journey around the world. During the final orbit, Major Gordon Cooper told the tracking station at Muchea (near Perth, Australia) that he could see a glowing, greenish object ahead of him quickly approaching his capsule. The UFO was real and solid, because it was picked up by Muchea's tracking radar. Cooper's sighting was reported by the National Broadcast Company, which was covering the flight step by step; but when Cooper landed, reporters were told that they would not be allowed to question him about the UFO sighting.

Major Cooper was a firm believer in UFOs. Ten years earlier, in 1951 he had sighted a UFO while piloting an F-86 Sabrejet over western Germany. They were metallic, saucer-shaped discs at considerable altitude and could out-manoeuvre all American fighter planes. Major Cooper also testified before the United Nations: "I believe that these extra-terrestrial vehicles and their crews are visiting this planet from other planets. Most astronauts were reluctant to discuss UFOs." "I did have occasion in 1951 to have two days of observation of many flights of them, of different sizes, flying in fighter formation, generally from east to west over Europe."

And according to a taped interview by J L Ferrando, Major Cooper said: "For many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists in astronautics. I can now reveal that every day, in the USA, our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us. And there are thousands of witness reports and a quantity of documents to prove this, but nobody wants to make them public. Why? Because authority is afraid that people may think of God knows what kind of horrible invaders. So the password still is: We have to avoid panic by all means.

"I was furthermore a witness to an extraordinary phenomenon, here on this planet Earth. It happened a few months ago in Florida. There I saw with my own eyes a defined area of ground being consumed by flames, with four indentions left by a flying object which had descended in the middle of a field. Beings had left the craft (there were other traces to prove this). They seemed to have studied topography, they had collected soil samples and, eventually, they returned to where they had come from, disappearing at enormous speed. I happen to know that authority did just about everything to keep this incident from the Press and TV, in fear of a panicky reaction from the public."

I guess these astronauts must be on a trip. At least that keeps us 'safe' and 'quiet' in our collective ignorance. These incredibly psychologically and physically fit astronauts, with 20/20 vision, must be smoking the pot. Yes, that's what it was.

Great post Soul union. Ironic how alot of this backs up what I had thought...lol. ~ Twister239

I had a feeling you had an open mind and that you are in search mode.

Edward Bernays, who was a relative of Sigmund Freud, said: "We are governed. Our minds are moulded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested largely by men we have never heard of. In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social or in our ethical thinking, we are dominated by this relatively small number of persons."

This small number of persons.

Benjamin Disraeli, one of Britain's prime ministers, also touched on 'this small number of persons' when he said: "The world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes."

Behind the scenes - the faceless ones, those whose power is far beyond that of prime ministers or presidents. Those who pull the strings of the puppets in suits in Washington DC.

Woodrow Wilson, during one of his election speeches in 1912, also alluded to this small but all-powerful group when he said: "Behind the visible government there is an invisible government upon the throne that owes the people no loyalty and recognizes no responsibility."

No loyalty, except to themselves. A single-minded ruthlessness that the average person finds difficult to comprehend.

John F. Kennedy, during a lecture at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York in 1961, said: "We are opposed around the world by a monolithic, ruthless conspiracy."

There's that word again, ruthless.

But JFK was taken out, on November 22, 1963, by a person or persons unknown. To throw Oswald into the broth is clutching at straws. He was, as he said himself after being arrested, a mere 'patsy.' Edward Jay Epstein, in his brilliant, groundbreaking book Legend: The Secret World of Lee Harvey Oswald, unravels the knots and threads in the Oswald/Kennedy enigma. What role did Oswald play? As James Jesus Angleton, former chief of intelligence of the CIA, said: "In the field of intelligence, a 'legend' is an operational plan for a cover, or a cover itself, depending on the mission." Or as Yuri Ivanovich Nosenko, a former KGB officer who claimed to have Oswald's file in Moscow, pointed out: "A legend is a false biography."

I would heartily recommend Epstein's book. It is an eye-opener and casts light on shadowy corners that have hitherto been avoided by other investigators.

Someone suggested earlier, why would this cabal, this all-powerful group, leave 'clues.' The reason, in my opinion, is because of their arrogance. Some of these clues stare us in the face - like the Obelisk in Washington DC. Some study and research on that structure will produce surprising results. Also, the creation and layout of Washington DC itself is an Occultist's dream. The White House sits at a very powerful and significant 'point,' within the Goathead of Mendes. It is also significant that Washington DC has, according to Newsweek, one of the worst rates of crime in the US and is "America's worst-run city."

Like I said, Twister, it is a multi-layered and profoundly fascinating subject.

I find your posts interesting. I don't know anything about this numerology stuff tho. Where do you think is a good place to start reading about it? I am also curious as to your thoughts in regard to 2012. What do you see for our future? Also curious to see how others actually feel about all the latest disclosures from credible witnesses in regards to UFOs. So much info out there. They are running it every Wed night on the History Channel. Are they all liars?.... If not then WHY are we not being told? It's not because of money....so what is it? ~ twister239

Hello, Twister, and thank you for your post.

This whole area is such a profoundly deep and multi-layered subject, but one of the finest writers in the world today on what lies ahead and what lies buried and yet is in front of our eyes, is British journalist David Icke. He has written several books, but he often repeats himself throughout his works. His The Biggest Secret is probably the best place to start your personal oddysey, a book that will help take you further into terra incognita. It is a book that can change lives, in as much as a life can be changed through knowledge and understanding. Icke is not a fool. He was a top sports journalist, working for the media 'machine' for many years in England; but he had an epiphany, a revelation. He stopped writing about 11 men chasing a ball around a park and focused his energies on deeper issues. The Biggest Secret is more than 500 pages long and covers many inter-weaving aspects. Here is just one fragment from hundreds of Amazon reviews about his book:

Either David Icke is competing for the 'Paranoid of the Decade' award or he knows something the rest of us don't. Icke reveals a sinister web connecting everything from the British royal family to major oil companies, to 33 of the last 40 US presidents, in a global conspiracy masterminded by an interstellar brotherhood vying for planetary control through the manipulation of humanity's very way of life. Icke digs into every facet of contemporary society to expose the invisible horror lurking beneath the calm veneer of everyday life. Even if you can't swallow Icke's distasteful revelations or follow every step of his labyrinthine conspiracy theories, The Biggest Secret is sure to forever change the way you look at the Amoco oil logo. ~ Brian Patterson

Another book that opens up a can of worms is Hidden Truth: Forbidden Knowledge, by Dr Steven M Greer. This book is priceless. Absolutely mind-altering. All of my pre-programming suddenly drained down the gurgler when I read this man's work. Here is a brief summary from Amazon:

In Hidden Truth: Forbidden Knowledge, Dr Greer provides his own personal disclosure based on years of high-level meetings with over 450 military and government-connected insiders and whistle-blowers and briefings with senior government officials, such as former CIA Director R James Woolsey, members of the US Senate and senior UN officials. In addition to these disclosures, Hidden Truth: Forbidden Knowledge unveils the actual contact experiences Dr Greer has had with UFOs and extraterrestrial civilizations, beginning as a young child. In one of the most amazing and moving personal stories ever shared, he explains how after a prolonged near-death experience at age 17, he experienced cosmic consciousness and found the Rosetta Stone of ET contact. Later, this led to numerous close encounters of the 5th kind: contact with ETs initiated by Dr Greer and later by larger groups of people through the CSETI (Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence) project.

Dr Greer's book has been called "courageous" and "brilliant," and once you read it you can see why. I have the book on my desk. The back cover reads: "Dr Greer has provided amazing leadership in penetrating the mysteries not only of the phenomenon itself, but the shadowy corners of the US government and corporate cover-up. As a result, Dr Greer has proven himself time and time again as a fearless and energetic warrior on the leading edge of planetary change. This book could be the most important you will ever read."

More from Amazon on David Icke's book:

Who owns the planet? Who are the leaders of the planet, really? What are their plans for us, really? As a global population, are we all headed in a direction that we don't even suspect -- a direction that may not be at all in our best interests? Is the growing incidence of drug trafficking and ritual child abuse the work of the very people we believe are endeavoring to eradicate these crimes? Who wrote the Bible? Is it possible that Moses and Jesus Christ never actually existed? Are most of us so involved in jobs, relationships, and entertainment, and so trusting of news reports and the information we learn in school and popular books that we are missing what is really going on? Are we victims of a program of large-scale mind-control without even suspecting it for a moment? Could we actually be the genetically engineered creations of a technologically superior reptilian race, as the ancient Sumerian tablets suggest? David Icke addresses these and many other provocative questions in his book The Biggest Secret. Without doubt, Mr Icke's answers are among the most amazing and unbelievable things you'll ever encounter. However, Icke is no nut -- he's a seasoned British journalist who has done a huge amount of research to back up his novel claims. I certainly won't attempt to offer an opinion about the truth of his claims, but I will say that this is certainly one of the most important (and interesting to read) books of our time.

Twister, you ask why are we not being told about these and related matters. The answer, in my opinion - and it is only my opinion - is because of raw panic. There are six billion people, increasing every second, on this planet. The overwhelming majority of them want nothing more than to live in peace, or their idea of peace; to eat and sleep and procreate; to make some money, spend it, and to avoid pain. Extraterrestrials and what 'goes on out there' are not even on their agenda let alone a factor in their lives.

One of the recent posts talked about logic and suchlike. The Flat Earth Society, which still exists today, albeit jokingly and for personal prestige and defiance, believed that the world was flat and that if you sailed too far 'out there' you would fall off the edge. This is a very 'logical' assumption. It appears to meet our basic beliefs. But the flat earth theory, once so logical, was crushed and thrown out the door when bold navigators ventured further and further across the oceans.

As for the year 2012, more and more people are talking about this date as being of special significance. Many scholars believe that some kind of earthly catastrophe will take place - from pole shifts, to continental slides and disasters, to meteoric activity - but the predominant theory is Planet X will either hit us here on Earth or come so close as to cause untold damage. Imagine, if you will, that you have built a little 'tower' with playing cards. Now put the card table near your living-room door. Now open and close the door quickly: the rush of the air as the door moves is enough to damage your arrangement, either partly or completely. This, in my opinion, is what we could see with Planet X. I don't think it will hit us directly, but I think it will come close enough to cause immense damage in its wake as it passes through our solar system.

That Planet X exists is not a theory; it exists as surely as the asteroids between Mars and Jupiter exist. In fact, NASA - "Now we see it, now we don't" - have photographed it, as have other private companies and institutions.

There is a magazine here in New Zealand/Australia called Nexus. It is one of the most credible publications of its kind and deals with matters that we are discussing. The Editor tends to receive a great many articles and information from sources all over the world. However, he is one of the most cautious of people, and he only publishes what he considers to be valuable and trustworthy. Recently, a letter came to him from a Norwegian politician, a man who wrote under his own name but who requested anonymity. I quote the letter in full, in case anyone would like to read it. Again, identifying personal details have been removed by the Editor. The letter reads:

Underground Bases and Preparations for Planet X

* The person who wrote this to us did so under his own name (which we have checked out) and enclosed a number of photographs of himself with the Prime Minister of Norway, and (in a separate photograph) with Benazir Bhutto.

I am a Norwegian politician. I would like to say that difficult things will happen from the year 2008 until the year 2012.

The Norwegian government is building more and more underground bases and bunkers. When asked why, they simply say that it is for the protection of the people of Norway. When I enquire about this and when they are due to be finished, they reply "before 2011." Israel is also doing the same and many other countries too. [See my note* at the foot of this article = Peter]
The proof that what I am saying is true is in the photographs I have sent of myself and all the Prime Ministers and Ministers I tend to meet and am acquainted with. They know all of this, but they don’t want to alarm the people or create mass panic.
Planet X is coming, and Norway has begun with storage of food and seeds in the Svalbard area and in the Arctic north with the help of the USA and the EU and all around Norway. They will only save those who are in the very élite of power and those who can build up again – doctors, scientists, and so forth.
As for me, I already know that I am going to leave before 2012, to go to the area of Mosjøen, where we have a deep underground military facility. There we are divided into sectors – red, blue and green. The signs of the Norwegian military are already given to them and the camps have already been built – a long time ago.
The people who are going to be left on the surface and who will die with the others will get no help whatsoever. The plan is that two million Norwegians are going to be safe, and the rest will die.
I am very sad. Often I cry with other people who know that so many will learn too late, and then it will be all over for them. All the major politicians in Norway know this, but few will say it to the people and the public in general – because they are afraid in case they too will miss the Noah-12 railcars, which will transport them to the ark sites where they will be safe.
If they tell anyone at all, they are dead for sure. But I don’t care anymore about myself. Mankind must survive and our species must survive. People must know about this.
All the governments in the world are aware of this and they just say that it is going to happen. For those of the people who can save themselves, I can only say reach for higher ground and find caves up in the highest places, where you can have a food storage for at least five years, with canned food and water to last for a while. Radiation pills and bio-suits are also advisable, if your budget allows.
I could have written to you using another name, but I am not afraid of anything anymore. When you know certain things you become invincible and no harm can then come to you – when you know the end is soon.
Remember that those who are going to be in and around the city areas in 2012 are those who are going to be hit first and die first. Later, the army will purge the rest of the survivors. They have a shoot-to-kill agenda if there is any resistance to bring them into the camps, where everyone will be marked with a number and a tag.
The public will not know what is happening until the very end, because the government does not want to create mass panic. Everything will happen ‘quietly’, and then the government will just disappear.
Kind regards
[Name and proof of identity supplied.]

* This letter resonates with something that has been happening deep in the central heart of Australia during the last 20 years or so. I have read repeatedly through various sources about a place called Pine Gap, a top-secret underground ‘city’, designed and constructed with alien help. UFOs have been seen, "as regularly as the cows coming in for milking at tea-time," according to one article I read some months ago, flying to and from Pine Gap. The whole area is guarded with sensors and high-powered electric fences many miles long, and is protected by the military and other sources. Pine Gap is to Australia what Iron Mountain (or Area 51) is to the States. When asked recently what Pine Gap contained, former Prime Minister John Howard (who lost the election recently) replied grimly: "We can’t talk about matters of national security." It is interesting that they chose Pine Gap, because this place is so far into the Australian desert, it makes Death Valley in the States look like a beautiful garden by comparison. Pine Gap is, literally, in the middle of nowhere, in an area of Australia with soaring temperatures, in the high 40Cs – a truly bleak and forbidding place.

Twister, I hope some of this has given you food for thought. As for what I 'see' for the future through my astrological research, let's just say that the world won't be what it used to be. The VeriChip and other electronic implants already manufactured and in readiness around the world are not for our 'benefit.' They will be necessary when the 'tagging' takes place when mass panic breaks out, just like separating goats from sheep.

>>>President John F. Kennedy is killed in Dallas (33rd parallel)

Wrong- 32 ~ Jiperly

I am not here to argue with you, Jiperly, or 'convince' anyone of anything. The longitude and latitude of the city of Dallas in Texas is 32°N47', 096°W48'. I am an astrologer - it's what I do for a living - and I know about long/lat. Dallas is as close to 33° as you can get without using a slide rule and requesting the target to drive a few hundred yards north.

I do my research - I don't laugh or scorn anyone else or become upset or jump up and down - and I put forward what I find.

To those with an open mind, is it just coincidence that Babylon was the first major city to be established simply because it was on the 33rd degree parallel? Remember the demonic belief in the importance of staging major world events on or near the 33rd degree parallel.

"If a life is taken close to the northern 33rd parallel, this fits with the Masons’ demonic mythology in which they demonstrate their worldly power by spilling human blood at a predetermined locale."
~ Masons and Mystery at the 33rd Parallel by Day Williams

Charleston, South Carolina, is the original site of Scottish Rite Masonry in the United States, and is only 15 miles south of the 33rd parallel.

On April 12, 1861, Confederate forces fired on the Union’s Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina, igniting the Civil War. Charleston, at the 33rd parallel, is known officially as "the Mother Lodge of the World." This Lodge had been founded by Moses Lindo as the King Solomon Lodge. Thus, the Civil War was started at the 33rd parallel - a very Masonic practice.

On April 12, 1945, President Franklin D. Roosevelt met his 'sudden death' of a cerebral haemorrhage at the 33rd parallel at Warm Springs, Georgia. His last words were: "I have a terrific headache." His medical chart is reportedly missing. Roosevelt was replaced by another 33rd degree Mason, Harry S. Truman. Weeks later, the nuclear bomb was dropped on the 33rd degree parallel, at Nagasaki, Japan.

Not all Masons worship Satan. Only the top 5%. The other 95% are misled and are given things to keep them 'occupied.' These Satanic Brothers love their symbols, and 33 is a very important number to them. It reflects the highest degree within Freemasonry.

I could cite a very learned and scholarly article right now that would blow the cobwebs from most people's heads and leave them spinning for some time to come. Alas, as I said earlier, I am not here to convince anyone. People can do their own research.

Humans created by Aliens: Plausible theory?

Society now only consists of those that were taken care of and they are still all contained. It is then that the truths will be revieled for this new society and the life of mankind will change. ~ Twister239

The Illuminati, and their offshoots and splinter groups, many using the cover of 'charitable' organizations and all hell-bent on global domination and the drastic reduction of the human population, tend to leave 'signatures' in their wake, significant dates to show the intelligent hand working behind their deeds. As I mentioned earlier, 11, 22 and 33 are sacred to these people.

For example, these dates, taken at random throughout the years, all contain powerful occultic numbers of the Illuminati:

The first day the American flag was used was at the Battle of Brandywine on September 11, 1777.

The US 1st Army crosses the border into German territory on September 11, 1941.

The end of World War I, after the signing of the Armistice, took place on November 11, 1918. (At the 11th hour = 11, 11, 11.)

Construction began at The Pentagon (The Pentagon = 11 letters) on September 11, 1941.

President John F. Kennedy is killed in Dallas (33rd parallel) on November 22, 1963. at Dealey Plaza = 11 letters. (Dallas, Texas = 11 letters.)

Former President of Chile, Salvador Allende, was murdered in a brutal, violent military coup led by General Augusto Pinochet on September 11, 1973. Allende just happened to be the 11th President of Chile.

The Berlin Wall falls on November 9, 1989.

The Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev announced to the world that Russia would join the New World Order. His announcement took place on April 11, 1990.

President Bush Snr calls the Gulf War an "opportunity" to enhance the New World Order. His announcement took place on September 11, 1990.

Eleven years to the day after President Bush Snr delivers his speech to Congress entitled 'Toward a New World Order,' terrorists attack the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001. (New York is the 11th state of the Union. New York City = 11 letters.)

The first female Chilean president, Verónica Michelle Bachelet Jeria, just happened to take office on March 11, 2006.

* The Bible states that Antichrist will be the 11th Horn to appear on the world scene [Daniel 7:7-8]

* "The drive of the Rockefellers and their allies is to create a one-world government combining super-capitalism and Communism under the same tent, all under their control. Do I mean conspiracy? Yes I do. I am convinced there is such a plot, international in scope, generations old in planning, and incredibly evil in intent."
(Congressman Larry P. McDonald, 1976, killed in the Korean Airlines 747 that was shot down by the Soviets)

* "The real rulers in Washington are invisible and exercise power from behind the scenes."
(Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter, 1952)

There are many, many more examples I could cite, but we don't want to upset those people who don't seem to offer much insight or research other than their disbelief. But disbelief, in itself, is a belief. Where would they be without that belief?

...government dont think that little of us do they? ~ twister239

Most people laugh and scorn at this subject, even when the evidence stares them in the face.

Twister, you say that the government doesn't think much of us. Well, you'd be right on the mark there. Do some Googling on the Georgia Guidestones, for instance, that eerie construction built for - what reason? The Georgia Guidestones were ordered, constructed and paid for in total anonymity and secrecy. It is a monument, of sorts, with ten 'commandments' for the New Age, that age that so many people are falling for hook, line and sinker. It's so cool to be New Age. The first commandment calls for a reduction in the global population to only 500,000. Those behind the scenes drag old Mother Nature into the equation to make us feel gulity. But reducing the population won't be so easy, with well over six billion at present. Another commandment urges a global government, a One World Government. For those people in the know, be aware that the date on the Georgia Guidestones' plaque is 22nd March 1980. Just like the American President, Barack Hussein Obama, who took the Oath twice, the second time on the 22nd of the month. Just like JFK was shot and killed - by a person or persons unknown - on the 22nd of the month. Those mentioned in this debate, this 'cabal,' are hardened cabbalists who follow a religion far from Christianity's sleepy sentiments. Their god is not our God, and their agenda is not to be taken lightly. They worship numbers, holding them sacred, and the 11, 22 and 33 are the most sacred, in their worship. For example, the death of JFK was a ritual murder on the 22nd of the 11th month in Dallas, a city at the 33rd parallel. (Roswell is also at the 33rd parallel.) A little bit of research and an open mind will dig out sufficient facts for further research. I used to laugh at people like David Icke, the British journalist who writes about such matters. As soon as I saw his face on the TV I would point an ignorant finger and laugh at him as being "one of those conspiracists." But I started my own research and I don't laugh at him anymore. Not when the dots are connected and the picture comes into frightening focus. It is interesting that the bought-and-paid-for Tony Blair, one of the NWO's major puppets, is now 'lecturing' in America on the New World Order. And according to Henry Kissinger ("Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control the people"), the rapidly unfolding economic depression and accompanying misery for billions of people "generates a unique opportunity to usher in 'a world financial order' and force sovereign nations to face the reality that its dilemmas can be mastered only by common action," that is to say through world government and a New World Order, a phrase Kissinger repeats often, just like George Bush and his cohorts brainwashed us with "weapons of mass destruction." So what kind of 'order' are we heading for? Will it profit the masses? Will it be some kind of heaven on earth for us? Well, as David Spangler, Director of Planetary Initiative of the UN, pointed out: "No one will enter the New World Order unless he takes a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he takes a Luciferian initiation." Personally, I prefer Christianity's sleepy sentiments any day.

My Great Awakening

I once had a boss who espoused the belief that, basically, self interest is the only reason we do anything, even acts of apparent altruism. While, on the surface I found the idea basically offensive, I also couldn't entirely disagree either. Is there really any such thing as true altruism? ~ stargazer1000

And I cannot disagree entirely, either.

The late Anthony de Mello wrote a bestselling book called Awareness. I read through it every day, and pieces of his wisdom slide into my consciousness, some of which startle me and kick me from my slumber.

One of the chapters in Awareness is called 'The Masquerade of Charity.' Here is an excerpt from that chapter:

"Charity is really self-interest masquerading under the form of altruism. You say that it is very difficult to accept that there may be times when you are not honest to goodness really trying to be loving or trustful. Let me simplify it. Let's make it as simple as possible. There are two types of selfishness. The first type is the one where I give myself the pleasure of pleasing myself. That's what we generally call self-centredness. The second is when I give myself the pleasure of pleasing others. That would be a more refined kind of selfishness. The first one is very obvious, but the second one is hidden, very hidden, and for that reason more dangerous, because we get to feel that we're really great. But maybe we're not all that great after all. You protest when I say. That's great! You, madam, you say that in your case you live alone and go to the rectory and give several hours of your time. But you also admit you're really doing it for selfish reasons - your need to be needed - and you also know you need to be needed in a way that makes you feel like you're contributing to the world a little bit. But you also claim that, because they also need you to do this, it's a two-way street. You're almost enlightened! We've got to learn from you. That's right. She is saying, 'I give something. I get something.' She is right. I go out to help, I give something, I get something. That's beautiful. That's true. That's real. That isn't charity, that's enlightened self-interest. Some of you object to this. You say, 'Isn't the pleasure I receive in giving, isn't that eternal life here and now?' I wouldn't know. I call pleasure pleasure, and nothing more. I'm not saying there's no such thing as pure motivation. I'm saying that ordinarily everything we do is in our self-interest. Everything. When you do something for the love of Christ, is that selfishness? Yes. When you're doing something for the love of anybody it is in your self-interest. "

He was an interesting man, was de Mello.

"Then said a rich man, speak to us of Giving."..

And he answered:

"You give but little when your give of your possessions. It is when your give of yourself that your truly give." The Prophet (KHALIL GIBRAN) ~ arabianangel

I wouldn't put too much store in what Khalil Gibran said. I have just finished an in-depth biography about the man and his life. His father thought his poems were "rubbish" and couldn't bear for his son to recite them at home among his friends.

American occultist and homosexual Fred Holland Day, a remarkably twisted individual, took the young Gibran under his wing, and some say, into his bed, taking vaguely erotic photographs of the Lebanese boy.

Gibran also 'allowed' older women to pay for his rent, his studies and his meals. He had no qualms about this - something that went on for years.

No matter. The legend continues, and the mythos grows and for reaches the stars. In our culture-famished society we allow ourselves to be fooled by what might have been, rather than what actually was. As they say, never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Nothing to get excited about.........it's going to be a sad day in America's history. ~ Raxarsr

I couldn't agree more, Raxarsr.

I see already the big black stretch limousines, built like tanks, all lining up with their intelligence henchmen and hangers-on, burning up fuel like there was no tomorrow.

So much for the carbon footprints. Nice one, Obama. I see you are starting as you mean to go on.

Sad day in everyone's history. This year will be a turning point for the world. Those who voted for this man - this man who was 'tapped' years ago and who has now been put in power through the controlled media and above every other American citizen - will remember Obamageddon and the year it all began.

Meanwhile, let the show continue. Floodlights, arc lights, clapping, glittering razzmatazz, all the specialized singing, praying, head shaking and wild-eyed stomping - meanwhile, the average American can't afford to pay his mortgage. There's nothing like a bit of showbiz. It covers many festering sores and keeps the masses happy.

I am glad she knows where she is at, and is not in this enchanted thinking that a new president will save everybody from what has already started.~ Nexthyme

I think we all 'shoot from the hip' from time to time. I have shot myself in the foot so often I've developed a permanent limp.

As for the 'new' president and his saving us from what has already begun, there are those who study matters of a sub rosa nature - not to be found on Fox News or the other controlled media - and there is a definite belief that the new man, whose race seems to be all-important to so many, has been put in place to continue what has already begun.

This man, Barack Hussein Obama, with no executive experience of any kind and who is probably the most unqualified person ever to seek presidency, is merely the new jockey. The horse, however, is still the same beast and gallops in the same direction, controlled by the same forces.

There are many books available today, although not in your High Street shops or at the checkouts of your local supermarkets, that will throw light on the approaching horizon and just what America, and the rest of the world, is in for.

I recommend many books, but one New York Times bestseller in particular is a real eye-opener. It is called The Late Great USA: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada, by Jerome Corsi, PhD. Here are just two, of hundreds, of Amazon reviews:

This is a definite must-read for every single American looking to make sense of very hush things going on around us and also trying to make a decent living here in this once-great country. The truth unwinds itself at the seams with the brilliant explanations by Dr Corsi. Most certainly a great book with a call to action for all Americans.

And:

This book should be mandatory reading for each and every person
in the United States of America with a voter registration card.

Thanks again, until . . . Nexthyme.

It is good to pay attention to things, but try not to become overly alarmed, just watch and learn. Be able to speak to others about things that don't set off an alarm but help teach them some self sufficiency... ~ nexthyme

If you will read the OP's profile, it quickly becomes apparent that she is not overly alarmed, about anything, and that she has indeed watched and learned from events. She speaks about self-sufficiency, and urges others to become self-sufficient. There is no 'panic' in her profile. She knows where she's at.

Do I go around congratulating other people on the leaders they elect? Obama is an overrated man... we shall see how he governs... I have my concerns. ~ giggleparts

I think millions of people are nursing serious concerns, not just Americans, especially in that Barack Hussein Obama's first move was to choose the aggressive, abusive, foul-mouthed Rahm Emanuel as Chief of Staff - a man Hillary Clinton desperately tried to get rid of. (Anyone in the know will appreciate that Obama did not make the choice. It was made for him.)

As the blood in Iraq continues to flow, American and non-American, the glitz and the glamour, which basically most voters admire and revere (John McCain just didn't have the West Wing lantern jaw, the stars in his eyes or that far-off narcissistic gaze), will peel from the Obama monument, leaving widespread disillusionment, confusion and fear in its wake.

Mr Emanuel's father, Dr Benjamin Emanuel said in an interview with the newspaper Ma'ariv that he was convinced that his son's appointment would be good for Israel. He was clear about that fact.

"Why wouldn't he be? What is he - an Arab? He's not going to clean the floors," said the father proudly.

Studying political commentaries across the world, we learn that Mr Emanuel "walks as if he has clanking brass balls." That he oozes hatred is apparent. He even admits to waking up and "hating me, too."

Good luck, America.

Soul Union, your posts remind me of Gulliver among the Yahoos. Yes, the world is a little too much with us nowadays. Good luck finding the Houy-hnhnms. ~ bbw2love

Thank you for your kind words, Bbw2love.

I have received many messages from 'Gulliveresses', women who are exhausted and disillusioned with the state of the world - and with dating. Some have poured their hearts out to me. They also enquire if I am any closer to finding my ideal mate.

Allusion to my ideal mate can be found in The Two Voices, a poem by Tennyson, of which these are a few lines:

On to God's house the people prest:
Passing the place where each must rest,
Each enter'd like a welcome guest.

One walk'd between his wife and child,
With measur'd footfall firm and mild,
And now and then he gravely smiled.

The prudent partner of his blood
Lean'd on him, faithful, gentle, good,
Wearing the rose of womanhood.

And in their double love secure,
The little maiden walk'd demure,
Pacing with downward eyelids pure.

These three made unity so sweet,
My frozen heart began to beat,
Remembering its ancient heat.

Best wishes, and thanks again.

Yet another example of a lack of command of the English language… seems as time goes by on POF, it’s becoming more noticeable to me. ~ Howdidigethere

I can hear the thunderous roar of feet beating to the library to borrow the latest edition of The Elements of Style, by William Strunk Jr.

Seriously, I was watching the main news tonight and heard the newscaster saying 'bought' instead of 'brought' so many times I thought it was an edition of The Twilight Zone. "She bought it with her," "He brought one at the shops." And so it went on. I mean, it's not rocket science. Bought and brought have different meanings, or they did when I went to school.

Anyway, who cares today, when everyone's yapping into their cellphones and writing in duh textspeak? It's all so cool. Yep. Yup. Yip. Bring it on!

I don't know about that, Shmodzilla.

Here in New Zealand, where I live, university exam boards are now allowing students to write their theses and exams in duh textspeak. (I kid you not.) Also, here in NZ, overall pass marks have been lowered to cater for the ethnic groups, Maoris, etc, who find it too tough.

What does all this tell you? It tells you that we are heading for Dumb Dumb Land.

Textspeak is gaining popularity, not losing, unfortunately. I predict that children in the not-too-distant future will actually be taught in textspeak, marked in textspeak and corrected in textspeak.

Maybe I started reading forums and getting these "cool" emails too late in life. ~ loveasmile

Join the club.

And it is a big club - comprising many people who are saddened and shocked at the disintegration of the once-beautiful English language.

Here in New Zealand, where I live, a news report states that many police cadets are having "trouble forming the alphabet." (This was in the New Zealand Herald, our main national newspaper.)

Never mind. If it keeps going like this our language will be simplified, to the extent that all we need do is grunt at each other. People will know by the level of the grunt, by the cadence and tone, what was meant.

It is not just our language that is in decline; the way people dress and the way they behave is becoming outrageous. For example, I was in a video store the other day, looking for one of those scarce, non-violent films, and I noticed that the men all around me had their trousers hanging down at their a$$es, with the crack of their behind gazing out at the world as they bent down to look for films. Women's arms and even their breasts were scarred with tattoos, their noses 'ringed' with bits of metal, their eyebrows scarred with holes from clips of one kind or another. And the noise from the 'background' music was so heavy I couldn't hear myself ask a question of the assistant behind the counter. The relief I felt when I left that store was palpable. I was almost in a state of bliss when I staggered through the doors on to the sidewalk.

We've got 'stars' on television today, chefs and the like, abusing the viewers with foul speech, spewing the F-word every other sentence. Gordon Ramsay kicked this off, and now Jamie Oliver does the same. It's meant to be 'cool,' you see. It's meant to be 'in.' And children watch this filth, every night, mouths agape, believing that what they see on the 'telly' must be real, must be true. And they copy the behaviour they see on the box.

How many decent 'family' programmes are there left today? A handful, if that. We've got crime shows coming out of the walls now, crime labs and slabs, pathologists, toxicology reports, murders, rapes, drug busts, assaults of every kind, assassins, bombs, shotguns blasting in people's faces, police officers chasing hoods down motorways, screaming and shouting . . . and that's just one night of the box.

I think we've reached critical mass, to be honest. I don't remember this when I was a boy, and that wasn't a million years ago. We had children's programmes that were entertaining and yet educational. We had TV hosts who were calm, well presented, eloquent and educated, who had their feet on the ground, unlike today's TV hosts, some of whom are so hyped up, manic and stupid the camera can't keep them in focus.

Of course, it may all be just in my imagination.

There's even one man on here, I can't remember who (sorry!) who's stolen that line and put it on his own profile!! ~ junika

He 'stole' your words, did he?

You sound very precious with the English language. Everyone 'steals' other people's words - in some manner - cobbling together words that have been hammered out by people long since gone. We do it every day, with Shakespeare, for example, but we don't consider that we 'stole' his words.

I wonder why you apologise for not recalling the name of the man (of course it had to be a man) who 'stole' your words? Perhaps if you could remember his user-name we could all report him and get him into trouble?

Live and let live, lady. As you said, "it's not difficult, people."

. . . . my eyes always seem to hone [sic] in on the errors! ~ jonibgood

I used to home in on the errors, too, but there's no point to it. People will write as they please. Even when you graciously try to help people with their writing and spelling, there are individuals who retort to abuse and report you to the PoF moderators. And so you are banned for being smart, even though your intentions are altruistic. (I am a former sub-editor and proof-reader from the UK.)

I remember hearing a snippet of a conversation when I worked in London. Two reporters were talking about a news item, and I was a few feet away, preparing to go home. I heard a fragment of what they said. The first reporter remarked: "It was the Marie Celeste, the ghost ship." The second reporter asked what year the ship was found.

As I was passing the first reporter's screen, I noticed he had written Marie Celeste. I bent over his shoulder and advised him that the ship was in fact called the Mary Celeste. I wish I'd kept my mouth shut, because the reception was far from kindly.

Anyway, I no longer consider myself smart. I just observe and keep my mouth shut. At least you cannot be banned or condemned for observing.

Most people who are excessively proud of their reading and writing abilities have very little else to commend them. ~ spitfire6844

The original poster, Ethnea I think her name is, asks if anyone else thought that poor spelling and grammar are turn-offs. She did not ask for your opinion or generalizations about 'most people,' and how most people have little else to recommend them if they happen to be fond of the written word. (The English children's story writer Beatrix Potter was fond of the written word, and yet her practical skills were prodigious - her farming life being just one example.)

This is an example of sophistry. You are picking out the odd writer who was so fixated on his or her writing that they "had no life," as you say. It does not follow.

Anyone can select a handful of examples to make their point; but their point is invalid. It is simply a generalization.

Mark Twain and Victor Hugo, literary giants in anyone's book, were "men of the world," in every sense of the word.

To recapitulate, the original poster is merely asking if poor spelling and grammar are a turn-off for anyone on PoF. It has nothing to do with psychological 'tests,' or how some English professor somewhere down the line might be shy or isn't totally 'well rounded,' as you put it.

You have only to watch the news every night to see rapists and muggers and killers - very few of whom are English majors, I would say - who are far from well rounded.

This subject has been discussed several times since I joined PoF, but no amount of discussion or reflection or argument or concern or irritation or pleading will change a thing. Nothing will change - absolutely nothing.

I was in a main library in a major city here in New Zealand recently. I needed some help to find a particular book. I spoke with the head librarian - a trim, prim, sharp-nosed, no-nonsense type of woman - and I told her what I was looking for. Bristling with self-importance and brushing my enquiry aside as if I was strictly minor league, she replied: "Was there a pacific author you had in mind?" I frowned and asked her to repeat herself. She did. "Was there a pacific author you had in mind?"

This is only one instance of how our language is changing, but I could provide many more. Our educational system is in decline and has been for about 30-40 years. Children today don't know Shakespeare from their last tube of lip-gloss. They don't know their history or their culture, preferring to immerse themselves in a foggy cloud of electronic devices.

Here in New Zealand, an alarming news item in the New Zealand Herald reported that a large percentage of police cadets "have serious problems forming the alphabet."

The local fire brigade station has a large, official sign erected at the parking lot. It is one of those glass-and-plastic signs, professionally constructed. It states: "No parking under any circumctances."

We are on the decline, my friends, and not only in the arena of education - writing, reading, spelling, etc - but in the way we communicate as a species. I notice many young men here in NZ walking about the town with their arms folded tightly, defensively and aggressively. It's as if they are saying, Don't come near me. I'm stressed to the max. I don't want to hear what you've got to say. Stay away. As a student of body language, I know that when a person folds his arms it indicates a defensive posture, for whatever reason. It is a form of communication, a silent language.

As far as abbreviations and words are concerned, as far as PoF is concerned, I would say that of all the messages I have received, only a handful were written in what we would describe as English. The rest were made up with dots and dashes, textspeak and other garbage. I reply politely with a thank-you, but I won't take it further. I am not interested. I am simply not interested.

If someone cannot write a message to me in English, if they cannot take the time - and how much time does it take from their ever so busy day? - to put words together so those words make sense, then it says a great deal about that person.

In conclusion, does someone taking linguistic short cuts bother me? It used to. But now I couldn't care less what they write. I take it all as it comes. My illusions were shattered a long time ago.

If anyone cares to find out why this is happening, why children (and adults) are struggling to put words together, please read Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt's The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America, a chronological history of the last 100 years of 'reform.'

Why the pics with other women in them?

After all; in an emergency which one of the "mates" would you look after/protect first? ~ wishes granted

Going by some of the vicious feminist posts here from the anti-male brigade, especially over the last few weeks, I don't think women even want their men to 'protect' them and 'look after' them - in an emergency or not. They don't need a man, you see. They've had that idea driven into their heads through the smart-a$$ media and slick TV shows, where the woman is the 'chairman' of the board and screams at her 'assistant,' usually a naive, confused, homosexual-type of young man, dithering and withering about in his PC cloud as he attempts to please her, which, of course, he never does. (The power of the controlled media.)

If anyone wants to know about the harm that feminism is doing to male-female relationships, I urge them to read a book called Cruel Hoax: Feminism and the New World Order, by Henry Makow. Here is just one Amazon review of this book:

I had trouble putting this one down. Henry exposes feminism for the stupidity that it is and provides the basics of the healthy heterosexual relationship. If you're confused about relationships, getting a raw deal from the opposite sex or just plain sick of the BS this is the book for you. I saw someone write "Henry is like the dad I never had". In this book is valuable advice on how a healthy relationship works.

My mother, my aunts, my grandmothers, my female teachers at high school - not one was a feminist - but they were happy, healthy, educated women, and they complemented their men wonderfully. Of course, that was in the 'good old days.' We have different days now to look forward to, as the soaring divorce rates indicate.

Why the pics with other women in them?

I would just like to know why so many men post pics where they have their hands all over other women? I don't get it. What is the reasoning? Am I the only women [sic] on here that is puzzled by this? When I see a pic in which a man is all over a women [sic] I tend to be turned off a little. Oh and also...whats with the pics showing you flipping the bird?...lol ~ tammylyn

I have seen many profiles of women in groups, in gangs, in great flocks, instead of posting a photograph of just herself.

I have seen many profiles of women with men - boyfriend? ex-boyfriend? husband? ex-husband? friend? ex-friend? brother? cousin? Who can say.

I have seen many profiles of women with their mammary glands hanging out like grapes flowing from a bowl on a table, or stretched out on the sofa with the scheming, pouting, come-hither look.

I have seen many profiles that are patently disgusting, strange, abusive, illiterate and indecipherable, foul, and many more that are just plain odd.

But . . . I don't concern myself about them. I simply read them, look at them, and move on. There is no need to complain or to speak to anyone else about what I have seen. It concerns only me and how I feel about a profile.

Opinions please. Is this normal!!!!! ~ cupolava

Even before I clicked on this post and opened it up, I could tell from the heading it would be a woman complaining about a man again - how bad he is, how nasty, how wicked, how unfaithful, how dirty, how much of a player he is, how inconsiderate, how unthoughtful, how gross, how - -- [insert whatever complaint seems to apply at the time and watch all the women ooohing and nodding their heads in agreement].

There seems to be no end to this.

Were women better off 50 years ago?

I remember a poem (set to music) I learned when I was in college. It was written by a Kansas housewife in the 1860's or '70's kinda says it all. ~ GreySpot

No, I don't believe it does.

Here is a poem written by a woman called Anne Bradstreet, which she wrote for her husband in 1650 and which I learned at school in the early Sixties:

To My Dear and Loving Husband:

If ever two were one, then surely we,
If ever man were loved by wife, then thee;
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee, give recompense.
Thy love is such I can no way repay.
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love, let’s so persevere
That when we live no more, we may live ever.

Mrs Bradstreet wasn't the only woman to write with such ebullience for her husband. Elizabeth Barrett Browning also gushed favourably about the love of her life, Robert Browning, but I won't quote any of her work here.
