Yeah, but he wears them out in public. And he doesn't even have a f*cking cape.

A sheet tied around my neck isn't good enough? I make the "whoosh" noises too...

One of the hottest profiles I have ever read on here locally (I never had the nerve to message him, when I was single & looking, alas), hasn't changed
at all in 5 years.

Ever think there is a reason he is still here after 5 years with no change?

Oh...wait...how long have I been here? Nevermind. Disregard previous comment.

Everybody in the place hit the ****in deck (shorty, yeah)
But stay on your mother****in toes
We runnin this, let's go

[Chorus (T-Pain)]
I'm on a boat (I'm on a boat)
I'm on a boat (I'm on a boat)
Everybody look at me cause I'm sailin on a boat (sailin on a boat)
I'm on a boat (I'm on a boat)
I'm on a boat
Take a good hard look at the mother****in boat (boat, yeah)

[The Lonely Island (T-Pain)]
I'm on a boat mother****er take a look at me
Straight flowin on a boat on the deep blue sea
Bustin five knots, wind whippin out my coat
You can't stop me mother****er cause I'm on a boat

Take a picture, trick (trick) I'm on a boat, **** (****)
We drinking Santana champ, cause it's so crisp (crisp)
I got my swim trunks, and my flippie-floppies

I'm ridin on a dolphin, doin flips and shit
The dolphin's splashin, gettin e'rybody all wet
But this ain't Seaworld, this is real as it gets
I'm on a boat mother****er, don't you ever forget

I'm on a boat and, it's goin fast and
I got a nautical themed pashmina afghan
I'm the king of the world, on a boat like Leo
If you're on the shore, then you're sho' not me-oh
{Get the **** up, this boat is REAL!!!}

[T-Pain]
Yeah, never thought I'd be on a boat
It's a big blue watery road (yeah)

I think it's the characters that count the most... maybe it is 200? I have never actually counted but, if I rambled on long enough I could get past that darn 2 in 10 rule. I wonder if a space counts as a character?

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Love the conspiracy theorists though
That being said, some users do get posting "rules" tacked on to themselves such as minimum character counts...

HER DIARY

Saturday night I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans
to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friend all day
long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but
he made no comment.

Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go
somewhere quiet so we could talk, he agreed but he kept quiet and absent.
I asked him what was wrong he said nothing. I asked him if it was my
fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to
worry.

On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled
and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he
didn't say I love you too . When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as
if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there and
watched T.V. He seemed distant and absent. Finally I decided to go to bed, about 10 minutes later he came to bed and to my surprise he responded to my caress and we made love, but I still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else.

I decided that I could not take it anymore so I decided to
confront him with the situation but he had fallen asleep. I started crying
and cried until I too fell asleep. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that
his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

The questions have nothing to do with IM's. No one is showing online....anywhere.

My guess is likely this feature has been discontinued as well? Maybe only available to "Serious" members? Someone with a circle can probably clarify that.

Next? Probably pics are down next, also, available to only "serious" members. This is just a guess of course...

Anyone has the option of "highlighting" their profile. It is a way of showing people that they are "serious" in finding what they are looking for..whatever that category might be. If someone wants to highlight their profile, for a fee, and just use the site for forums...so be it. If they want intimate encounters...so be it. Who cares? At least when a person comes across the profile, and sees the category, they know that it isn't someone likely to be just wasting their time...whatever the category might be.

Survivor type Canadian style of camping weekend event?
Posted: 3/11/2009 4:02:43 PM
Hmm...ears were ringing I guess...

This Spring/Summer/Fall are all likely out for me. The kid I ordered will be here in June...not sure what my schedule will be like.

The idea is great though, and as was mentioned...the ocean locale might fare a bit easier than the interior as the abundance of natural foods there would help smooth things out.

That being said, I am hoping to do one backpack camping trip at least this year...probably 3 days if anyone is interested.

We need to remember that most users on POF aren't here for the forums, or the social aspect. They are looking for a partner. If a gold star, or a highlighted profile weeds out some of the "only here for friends", or "only here for forums", or "just looking around, not interested in a relationship"...etc then great. If people feel the need to distinguish themselves by the star, great. It hurts no one. It doesn't affect me, nor my account, so what do I care if they want to pay for a star? It is a marketing game. Nice move.

That being said, I clicked on the search "my city" and wow..there are quite a few 'stars'...lol..and that got me thinking..that, yes, I would look at those profiles first, being that is what I am interested in ideally. I thought about how many people I have talked to, that are only here "looking around"....or just want "friends". It makes sense to have an option to distinguish oneself if they so choose.

Will I get a star? Nope, I am too cheap...lol..unless Markus wants to give me one in hopes of getting rid of me off the site finally.

Dentists in Mexico
Posted: 2/6/2009 4:14:43 PM
Just because the cost of labor is much cheaper down south, doesn't mean the quality is any less. I am sure in some instances, it is...but with proper homework, I think one is silly NOT to at least look into it. When I get quoted 110.00 an hour for cleaning at one dentist, and 200/hr at the next...both in B.C., makes me wonder as well, when everyone is supposed to be on the same page?

I paid 400.00 for two teeth to be pulled a few weeks ago. It took 45 min. I never stopped bleeding for two days. Went to emergency the following morning as it still hadn't stopped, they said I had to go back to the dentist to get it stitched. The tooth they used as a fulcrum point for their lever, pull em out er thing...is now pointed slightly inward and my jaw hurt for over a week.

I can't see how down south it can be any worse... You don't always get what you pay for.

Sisterevil, would love that info!

SCUBA diving is sensual. To breathe underwater is one of the most fascinating and peculiar sensations imaginable. Breathing becomes a rhythmic melody of inhalations and exhalations. The cracks and pops of fish and crustaceans harmonize with the rhythmic chiming of the bubbles as you exhale. Soon, lungs act as bellows, controlling your buoyancy as you achieve weightlessness. And, as in your dreams, you are flying. Combine these otherworldly stimuli and you surrender completely to the sanctuary of the underwater world.

Spelling and Grammar, does it count?
Posted: 1/12/2009 9:13:25 AM
I wouldn't call it judging so much..as calling it.. making an informed decision. Chances are, if you don't have what it takes to spell (I know that sounds derogatory, but it isn't meant that way), we are going to be missing something else on an intellectual level that just won't work for me.. That isn't me saying I am better than they, it isn't saying they are not intelligent, it is saying we don't match. Plain and simple. It is just like chemistry, if it isn't there, it just isn't going to work for me.

Grammar, not so much...but poor spelling, I hit the back button. In a casual forum setting such as this, grammar is expected to be lacking. Spelling, on the other hand..I personally can't stand poor spelling...or improper usage of words. ie: there, their and they're. It also sickens me to see where our language is going with all these people using the short forms..U, 1, B..etc I probably hate that more than anything.

Invasion of the Wolf Spider - Autumn 2008
Posted: 9/22/2008 1:00:39 PM
ML..I think the cats are harmless. Maybe just trying to snuggle up for the winter?

Spiders Plentiful and Visible in Fall

Late in the summer, spiders tend to be at their peak in both population and size. Webs are plentiful, so people notice them and may think some kind of spider population explosion is under way.

According to Phil Glogoza, extension entomologist at North Dakota State University, spiders are beneficial predators feeding mainly on insects, including many pest species. All spiders are venomous, but most are harmless to people. They are not aggressive, and few will bite. If they do bite, the bites of most spiders are less painful than a bee sting.

Spiders can be found indoors any time of year but numbers usually peak in late summer or fall. Glogoza says it would be difficult to eradicate spiders from around a home, but it is also unnecessary. Spiders are beneficial to the environment and should be tolerated if possible, he says.

If it is necessary to reduce the number of spiders around the home, Glogoza recommends starting with measures to prevent them from entering the house, including removing debris that may harbor spiders, keeping grass and weeds cut short, and trimming back trees or shrubs that contact the house. Caulk or seal cracks, replace damaged screens, and remove webs, egg sacs or spiders that are found. Indoors, clean regularly to reduce insect populations that may attract and sustain spiders. Cleaning regularly in corners and undisturbed areas prevents spiders from finding a safe refuge.
