Honesty

Years ago I was talking to a woman on another website. While things were going as well as they could by email I said I finally wanted to meet her. Well we did meet and then I got a email that she did not want to take things further. She said she had a list of things she was looking for in a man, three big hitters though. Someone who she finds intriguing and that she thought she would still find interesting years later. A person with integrity. Someone physically who causes her to have butterflys when she sees him.
She said I had the first two qualities but she did not get the third reaction when we met. Oh well two out of three ain't bad.
I guess I deserved a bit of an explanation after all the time we spent writing to each other but it is not like it changed anything. Generally I chalk it up to personal preference.

Hey simple, if you want to get things right it was not Dudley posting on the flaky thoughts of Luukanen-Kilde. First off, how am I making accusations? All I did was post a few links of the lady speaking her mind. She brings up the paranormal and said 67% of people in the world have paranormal experiences, and telepathy that can be used to communicate to the dead.
Her thoughts on 'they' are experimenting on single women and make them disappear. She tells us that non-lethal weapons to control us using electromagnetic waves are being used by the government. That contrails from airplanes (the white lines in the sky as airplanes pass overhead) are implanting microchips in our bodies.
I am not sure what I misunderstood. She is telling people about a H1N1 conspiracy which people may take seriously. I would guess people would think twice about her credibility after hearing her speak.

All parties felt this is the best solution under our justice system.
Crown and defence lawyers cited "special circumstances" in not seeking custody for Clearsky.
"" said Crown attorney Shaun Sass. "Given these special circumstances, it's not contrary to the public interest to let him serve his sentence in the community."
The whole point of having a justice system is to serve the public interest, to keep law and order. He will help with the H1N1 concerns of his community (think of it as community service) and the rest of the time he will be under curfew. The justice system is there to have people see the error of their ways and to smarten up. He may have finally realized it this time as he has let down his community.
Why, what are you trying to say?
Sorry, not sure why the quote box did not work.

We are shallow creature and want more than the inner essence of a person.
I once met a woman and when we laid eyes on each other It was each other's essence that shone through. Good thing for me because she was attractive to beat all hell and I was, well... it was a good thing I had charm.

Actually it is good you mentioned that, I almost forgot a insignificant detail. Hydro is one of a group of companies (mine included) that have grown tired of poaching workers from each other. What they have been doing in the past was looking at the wage settlements within the group and use it as a basis to come up with bargaining positions. We never settled (and there is no way we would have) for 0% in any year of our contract. And we think we settled low for our norm.

Sue it might come as a surprise to you but Electrical workers outside of Hydro are probably making more than those at Hydro. Partly as compensation for the uncertainty of working for a private company and partly due to market forces, the supply of electrical workers has not kept up with demand. Also the electrician that wires your house or does work in industry is not qualified to climb up a hydro pole. The two are a different kettle of fish and as is a construction electrician as compared to someone who fixes you TV.
This is true in many trades as older workers have been retiring while many young people have looked to universities for their future. While the downturn has reduced the severity of the shortage even in this work climate there are shortages. These people do not grow on trees, it takes a minimum of four years for a person to be qualified to do this work. Hydro requires two years of schooling at a College as a prerequisite for those applying for the positions.
Hydro has not been reducing its workforce due to this downturn (you still need the same amount of people to service the electrical system in place) they are concerned that they will not be able to get the employees they need to keep things running in the future.
Power distribution is more a public service like firefighting than traditional business. Because of that even during a strike the workers are required to put down their signs and get the system up and running if there is a problem. Because of that contracts tended to mimic what other public service industries offer. Because of that Hydro's position seems odd this time around.

The only reason MB Hydro is getting into the alternative heating is eliminate the possibility of future competition. I don't believe that electrical and natural gas costs should be as high as they are, if you are considering them truly a crown corp.
Could MB Hydro getting into it because it is the responsible thing to do? Because our politicians have suggested to them it might be a wise thing. Or if they reduce the amount of energy that we use frees up power to sell to the U.S. at a higher rate?
How high should rates be? Should people get energy at a discount and then be told they should conserve? On the gas side Hydro has resellers that will take your money and pay Hydro a fee to use their system to supply your natural gas. If you think it is a good deal sign up.
As far as the CBC goes I find that when I decide to watch some TV and there is nothing of interest on (most of the time) CBC, PBS, BBC fills in. More the news end of things for the CBC or the comedies. Not sure if the programing reflects the Canadian Identity or if it defines it but it gives a flavour to how we see things rather than if we only had American stations or Canadian American wannabe stations.
CBC radio has taken a hit as far as I am concerned, trying to please the greatest segment of the population (light jazz, mushy folk, lets try not offending any ears), in general elevator music for middle aged women. All to justify their existence to the powers that be and in the process loosing a reason for being.

Hey Sue what industry are you comparing the guys at Hydro to? If it is others in the electrical field you would see wages and benefits comparable to Hydro, some higher some lower. You can not compare the car industry to hydro also. The car industry is in a slump as it was over capacity as it was. Hydro is not loosing business and you can not replace the employees with just anyone off the street.
While manufacturing jobs can be outsourced to other countries service oriented jobs can not. It is hard for someone in India to climb a pole and hook up a cable.

I think the mother was at fault here. What is with the grainy video? Spend some real money and get some good images. Then put them on the internet, or even stream a feed live from her back yard. Just think of all the adoring fans her little peeper would have. Remember, voyeurs of a feather might just flock together. He may even see himself on his computer (although not live).

Random acts of Kindness....
Posted:
9/15/2009 8:50:36 PM
The other week I had to go to a patient's room and moved some of the furniture to look at something. Before I left I apologized for moving things around and she said she did not mind, it gave her something else to look at as she had been looking at the same tack for two days.
She had her head in a brace and could not move it, and only could look at the opposite wall with a bulletin board with a tack on it. I felt sorry for her.
I tracked down a woman in another building that had a few nice pictures of Japanese gardens on her wall. I explained the situation and she gave me one (was one page of a calender). I went back and pinned it to the bulletin board, the woman thanked me as I left.

when is it racism ?
Posted:
9/1/2009 7:56:56 PM
Nope. And no one is telling her she has to expose her midriff; they're just telling her that the attire she wishes to wear in THEIR establishment isn't allowed ( much like the "No shirt,No shoes, No service" signs that are up in some businesses) and until she is willing to comply with their rules, her patronage isn't wanted. ( Many businesses also have signs up saying they reserve the right to refuse service to any customer ). Their business, their rules.
Being that it was a public pool and the rules were made by the government they have an obligation to their citizens. If the suit is a hazard then they have a right to ban it. As it is they have not made a good case against it. Two other countries in Europe tried to ban it and it was struck down.

So Muslim rules of decency would be forced onto the French woman; yet the Muslim woman in France wants them to change their rules to accomodate her. Sounds a bit one sided.
And wearing a burkha isn't compulsory in all of Muslim; it's considered optional (and the woman's choice) in the moderate groups but compulsory in the more militant & fundamentalist factions.
In any event, the rules are in place & the French authorities chose to enforce them, hardly racist ( unless the rules were created just a short while ago to bar women from wearing the apparel).
Why only pick and chose sections of a post when the rest of the post gives the answer to your question?
Why would some actions be decided as indecent in our society while others can not be decided to be indecent in another? If you arrived on an Amish colony in just a G string would they just turn a blind eye or would they ask you to cover up (being a polite people that they are.)?
So what if wearing a burkha is not compulsory. If the person does not feel comfortable baring her midriff is it a crime if she does not?
The rules are in place for the French authorities to enforce them. They do not allow people to enter a pool unless attired in a bathing suit. The woman was wearing a swimsuit designed for Muslim women that go in for that sort of thing.

The argument of would a French woman be allowed to wear a bikini in a Muslim country falls flat for one good reason. Public decency. In a Muslim country it would be considered obscene for a woman to show her body in that manner (actually in any manner). Here it would not offend anyone if a woman swims all covered up. I am sure we would not care for people just deciding to have sex on a beach, we are not inclined to say they can do as they want we will just turn away.
If someone shows up at a pool in a wet suit would they be denied entry to the pool? Other than their hands and feet they are all covered up. How about a rubber suit with strategically placed cutouts for purposes that I would not mention. Would the person be denied entry into the pool? Even if they showered and only had a dirty mind??
