What do you know about Bruce Springsteen?
Posted:

I used to be a manager @ a club in New Brunswick NJ in 1983-1984, and another manager there (Kevin) was from Long Branch where Bruce was born, and a HUGE Bruce fan. We used to go down to the Stone Pony in Asbury Park (when we could get one of the other managers to cover) when Beaver Brown & John Eddie & the Front St. Runners would play on Friday & Saturday nights. Bruce would show up often, and play the next to last set with the bands usually. And just hang out in the crowd before & after. Very personable, right @ home in Asbury where he played alot of his early gigs. The locals treated him like a regular guy, not a celeb. This was right before Born in the USA came out. His first shows of the Born in the USA tour were in the Meadowlands, 10 in a row! If I remember right, Kevin went to see all 10. lol 5'10" is a stretch, maybe 5'7" tops. And hands of a guy 5'3" lol. When I shook his hand the first time I felt like I was shaking a kids hand (and no my hands aren't that huge lol). But a great guy, a great rocker (when he's not singing depressing ballads like on Nebraska), and one of the best shows in rock n roll!

Yes, thanks to all three of you. Very good party and such a friendly crowd. Maybe it was the jammies? Great DJ too.
I think I was the luckiest guy there though, first kiss cost me a tonic water

I had been thinking about going for a couple of weeks, then today I got an email about a benefit Sunday from 2:30-7:00 pm. Guess where? Sidelines?
So I guess that's a clue that I should go? Which is the best hotel to stay at?

OK, maybe it does take a rocket scientist.
Gold has no intrinsic value? I don't think intrinsic is the word you mean. What would you tie the value of a currency to? Obviously tying it to money supply has been disastrous.
When you have the entity that controls the money supply making money off deficit spending by loaning money to the US government, you have a conflict of interest. Hence the OP's original statements of impending disaster.
And mungo, you may want to research the major shareholders of the Fed and tell me what their names are.

Yes, both the previous posters are correct in a sense. There always have been times like these when the power of banks is left to run rampant.
To quote Ron Paul from the Congressional Record on September 10, 2002:
http://www.house.gov/paul/congrec/congrec2002/cr091002b.htm
"From the Great Depression, to the stagflation of the seventies, to the burst of the dotcom bubble last year, every economic downturn suffered by the country over the last 80 years can be traced to Federal Reserve policy. The Fed has followed a consistent policy of flooding the economy with easy money, leading to a misallocation of resources and an artificial "boom" followed by a recession or depression when the Fed-created bubble bursts."
In 1967, Alan Greenspan once wrote an article called Gold and Economic Freedom. He wrote that:
"An almost hysterical antagonism toward the gold standard is one issue which unites statists of all persuasions. They seem to sense--perhaps more clearly and subtly than many consistent defenders of laissez-faire--that gold and economic freedom are inseparable, that the gold standard is an instrument of laissez-faire and that each implies and requires the other. . . . This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights."
Greenspan knew that the wealthy are behind this separation of currency from the gold standard, and through their complicated economic mechanisms, only the Rockefeller class would benefit from this. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to research the evolution of the modern economic policies since the inception of the Federal Reserve Bank, the elite families behind it and the subsequent beneficiaries of the policies.
Artificial manipulation of unsupported money supply is behind most of the woes the OP brings up.

The best advice I have heard on this subject is being proposed by a group called Downsize DC. http://www.downsizedc.org
They have initiatives toward policies such as:
One Subject at a Time Act - would require Congress to only have bills with one subject. And the title would have to accurately represent the content. This would keep them from naming bills such as the "Patriot Act", "No Child Left Behind Act," or the "Protect America Act." and then tagging unrelated, expensive, and often pork-filled amendments onto them. Then Congressmen and Senators are afraid to vote against a propagandistic title. No one wants to be accused of voting to leave children behind, or against patriotism, or against protecting America, but none of these bill titles actually describe the subjects of these bills.
Read the Bills Act - Would require Congress to actually read aloud in session every word of every law they pass. Most bills are mammoth, and many additions are added secretly at the last minute unknown to most of the Congressmen that vote on them. And that every bill be posted on the Internet for 7 days before passage to allow public comment.
Write the Laws Act - Require Congress to actually write the bills they pass. Also require them to:
Congress write specific legislation, with no details left to the bureaucrats.
All allegations of wrong-doing be tried in Judicial Branch courts, not by bureaucrats.
All punishments be rendered by judges, not bureaucrats.
Executive Branch agencies be limited to investigation and prosecution.
Citizens be held blameless against any government actions that violate these rules.
Previous legislation granting legislative and judicial power to bureaucrats be identified so it can be repealed.
Enumerated Powers Act - Requires Congress to cite the specific, "enumerated" powers of Congress that are spelled out in Article of I Section 8 the Constitution with each bill they pass. Most bills they pass are in fact, unconstitutional, and they have no constitutional right to enforce them.
All these together would slow down the pace of legislation, give the people the ability to see what indeed Congress is doing, give our elected representatives the ability to vote on each bill on ONE subject's merit, and generally decrease the needless spending that is rampant.
This is a good start toward bringing fiscal responsibility back to C0ngress. That, and to abolish the Federal Reserve Bank, which is not a government agency, but a group of private bankers that Congress unconstitutionally gave the power to control the currency. They create the bubbles and busts, control the interest rates, and regulate the monetary supply which has greatly devalued our dollar.

Good morning!
Is everyone ready to have some fun tonite? This should be a wild one. Lots of good people running around, a great band, Princess, Wildred & Dragonfly bouncing. LOL
I'm looking forward to meeting as many as possible and making some new friends.
No shyness allowed tonite, please come find me or one of the hosts to introduce yourself. We'll have a 'safe haven' corner if you are really shy though. *that's where I'll be*

Yeah come right on Tony. We had a mention in the Rock City ad that ran Friday in the News-Herald about the party, and a banner on top of one of the sections of the paper will run Wednesday, so there will be alot of local people showing up.
And Greg? 11 is probably when it'll really start cooking. Cecon's meds should be taking effect about then too.
Gudnplenty, come right on. The more the merrier!
Speaking of more, we had 59 signed for the last one and figured well over 100 showed (I think about 140). We have 68 now with a week to go so it should be really fun! Can't wait!

Yeah you don't have to register, but it sure helps us when we're going to be arranging a seating area for us there. Everyone's welcome though. (well except for the married ones or the ones that blatantly lie about their age)
There's a login link @ the upper right of the first page of this forum, you will have to login in there first before signing up I think. If you see a logout link, you know you're in.
And guys, if past parties are any idication, the girls are usually hesitant about signing up but just show up anyway. I think you'll be surprised!
The place is kinda hard to see until you're right on top of it, so just look for this big inflatable fish out bu the street!

Yeah I've been there on Friday nights, and the crowd is a good one. Not too young, very mixed. Thursdays and Saturdays there is a yonger crowd. We wouldn't have picked out a place like Suede. lol Not that we wouldn't still have fun anywhere we go but you know what I mean...
We will have the one side of the bar's tables reserved for us, from the pool tables to the dance floor. So it will be mostly us over there, except for whoever gets recruited to join us.

telephone numbers reverse look up question
Posted:

Abstinent, I think your post is why if I see anyone giving out enough personal information online, I try to warn them. This information has been readily available for well over 10 years. Before Google, you could do a Netscape search on someone and find out virtually anything you wanted. My ex (who has a mensa IQ) did the same thing 8 years., and was shocked when I showed her how easily I could find out exactly where she lived.
Funny thing is, sometimes when I warn someone, they think I'm gonna stalk them and freak out. Natural I guess, but better they are safe.
So as rules:
Never give out your home phone #, always cell.
Use first names only, and if your email has your last name in it, make another email account and use that.
Small town? use the closest larger city on your profile. Too easy to find you if you have a pic up.
And that's right about yahoo messenger, and sometimes your email. Make sure that your last name isn't on them when you send. test email yourself if unsure.
Anything else i'm forgetting??

Wow, what a great thread. Personally I usually gravitate toward tall women. Something about those long legs, especially in spikes with a short skirt. Stick a fork in me, I'm done. lol
Last gf was 5'7", previous was 6'2", before that 5'9".
And BTW, all you tall women on here are absolutely lovely

Any Scorpios close to Ohio by chance?
