UK age increase in buying smoking products
Posted:

The law currently does not allow under 18's to drink so why should it be different for them to be able to smoke earlier? I think it's a good thing even if it stops a few youngsters from starting the habit hopefuly by the time they are 18 they are old enough to make an informed dicision about the personal health risks.
Of course there will always be problems inforcing new laws but that should not stop us bothering to change them for the better. Too often we sit there and say "this will never work", people said that the smoking in public places ban would never come in and it has!
Upping the age limit can only be a positive message to the younger generation

Are we being radical enough about recycling!?

No we are not is the answer ! We have fortnightly collections in our local council for recyclable waste, when i moved house and rang the council for a green bin they said they had none available??? thats encouraging its constituents to recycle so i use my neighbours but they will still only collect paper, cans and glass. They refuse to collect cardboard and plastic containers such as packaging and pop/squash bottles they also refuse to recycle clothes and metal. I now go to my local recycling centre and do it myself but many people would not bother or have no transport to do so. More needs to be done we need to follow the examples of the netherlands etc who recycle most of their waste , every garden should have a compost bin for food waste etc...come on Britain we need to re use valuable resources and start taking care of what we have!!
rant over...sorry

I admit i was a little overwhelmed at first so have just been reading them for a while. Now i can't wait to get stuck in and have fun meeting like minded people who are not afraid to share opinions. Please forgive any faux pax 's i will try to write by the rules and not disgrace myself in cyber space.speak to you soon littlesha

some of my favourite quotes come from my favourite book "Illusions" by Richard Bach.
"Your friends will know you better in the first minute you meet them than your acquaintances will know you in a thousand years"
"Your conscience is the measure of the honesty of your selfishness. Listen to it carefully"
"The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each others life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof"

What we all want ??

no im sorry im ever the optamist there is someone for everyone and if you have found that elusive other half of you and you truly love each other the desire should be a straight line between the two of you and nobody else would come into view. I think too many people today feel pressured into finding "the one" and so many people settle and thats when eyes wander etc because one person out of the two is not completely happy ! stay open and ready and when you least expect it....bingo! good luck on your search
