My apologizies for being too straightforward (a flaw) I've been with over 300 women in my single years, and yes you're absolutely bang on. There's a percentage who get all fuzzy, but the most memorable ones were nervous because of the other reasons mentioned. Sorry to offend, last thing I would ever do intentionally. (can be much more charming in person :)

The problem (use common sense people) in Canada with this law is potentially decent men / good providers who've saved their entire life are afraid to enter into a relationship with a woman and her kids fearing he gets stuck with high child support payments. Its not an insult to women, its a fact about a law that discourages good relationships from starting in the first place. Thats one of many reasons single mothers have a harder time finding good men. Its also 1 of many wedges created by gov't intervention that keep men and women apart. (can you say Nanny state?)

In reality the root is this whole division of assets / support payments that turns kids into pawns, and a legal system that turns good adults into moronic he/said she/said idiots while everyone else profits. Share custody, eliminate support, and all the bullshit will end. You'll even have a massive positive effect, reduced births, 2 parent homes, and so forth as a reverse spin off.

Some of us guy (very rare) are very confident and deal with nervous people all the time. (often our precense alone is enough to make people nervous.) Some of us naturally make girls feel @ ease, but for those who ARE nervous, the biggest turn off is if they blurt stupid things (such as put downs, or competative comments.) The best thing to do when you're extremely nervous is to shut your mouth, be polite, and smile alot. The rest will fall into place.
