Favorite MMA fighter?
Posted: 11/14/2009 9:39:11 PM
I would pay good money to watch Fedor knock Lesnar out. Yep Fedor is a bad man, he sure don't move like a heavyweight but he loads up some monster punches right up there with the biggest hitters in the punching world. He looks comfortable everywhere. Fun fights to watch, every time, definently one of my favorites.

Joyce Gracie, Randy Couture yep they are great fighters and people. I like the respectful guys that kick ars. People that make others better and you want children to grow up acting like. True sportsmen that have done nothing but help others along the way and love to fight. Kickin butt champions.

funny online dating profiles

Well.....Only mail I get is from people that think my profile is funny. Its actually honest and thats the funniest part about it. If people just relax and write some stupid crap about themselves it keeps the profiles from being a bunch of nose bleeds.

loving old pets
Posted: 10/5/2009 9:42:58 PM
Most pets still have the pac mentality. I have a yellow lab, shes 10 now and realisticly can't hold her own against the younger dogs. The fact that I treat her better, shove the other dogs away that aren't gentle around her, pet her more, the others learn quick to treat her like the boss. She's super passive, but even my friends dogs know that she is the pac leader, she gets the good seat in the truck and the first food if she wants it.

When I'm throwin the ball/stick whatever for the dogs I always throw one and then pull out a ball I hid for her. She knows I'm gonna do it so she'll just watch the other dogs chase the first one, knowing I'll toss another for her. Yep shes a pain in the butt, most of my friends are.

Brett Favre wants revenge?...
Posted: 10/5/2009 9:05:58 PM
He's awesome, the iron man of football. He didn't sign a contract to be an actor and can change his mind any time he dang well feels like it. He lives in America. He looked great tonight and the Vikings are 4 and 0. Pre madonna.......yeah right, he's tough as nails, never misses a start.

The media turned football into a daytime soap opera, not the players. Look at the first touchdown Favre threw tonight and immediately the cameras start panning over to show Rodgers reaction. Why? because they are trying to highlight the soap opera action. Favre is a quarterback and its what he loves to be. If I had my dream job I might not want to retire either. He still takes plenty of hits, but doesn't go on the injured list, torn bisep and all, he's an animal, a leader, interceptions or not. I hope the Vikings win the championship and Favre still don't retire. Good for him, who cares what others think in matters like this.

I don't think he wants revenge, he wants to play football. A starting quarterback in the NFL and hes good at it. If you cuss him, you just aint got nothin better to do, or he's helping to beat your team.

Are unions at work good anymore?
Posted: 10/4/2009 8:50:48 AM
When I was in the laborers union there was definently some workers that were being carried by the union rules. Seems like that was only on huge jobs where they empty the hall out and everyone can go to work, it happens on big mill shutdowns and such, when they have only a short time to complete a big project. Very little now, on smaller jobs, do I see workers and the union pushing things too far, certain trades are much worse than others, but.........

The Union Contractors and Employees that I work around regullarly are kick A**. They do great work, Safely, everybody out there is trying to a good job, because they care. I can look around and be confident that nobody out there is getting the shaft on pay, healthcoverage, healthy work environment......nothin like that. And they all do a great job because of it. Every union contractor in my field is excellent. Theres only some of the nonunion contractors that I can look at and feel the same way. And another thing about the Unions that seems rellivant to point out............They are American Workers.

Camping tips and recipes

If your looking for some good rope, theres this pulling rope that untility workers use for pulling cable through conduit and such called MULE TAPE. Its a bit expensive to buy but if you see a contractor in your area that does underground utilities(power, phone, cable, fiber) ask if you can have some. When I worked fiber optics and phone/tv service installations we gave it out to lots of people. Its light, very strong and easy to pack away, its really soft and limp.

I've used it for crawdad trap lines, tying up a small boat, tying down tarps, packing out game, tying food in trees, clothes line, getting my truck out of the mud, whatever, and if you play your cards right you can probably score some for free. If you hand feed it into a small bag you'd be suprised how many feet of rope crams in there, and if you leave the end dangling out a little it'll pull right out without knotting up and you can just cutoff what you need. I keep some in my truck at all times its super handy stuff.

Are unions at work good anymore?

I work around both union and non union contractors regullarly. There are about half of the non union contractors that I feel are getting away with not having employees that are treated as well as I would like. The Union offers lots of good people a chance to live a good life. There are many things I disagree with that the unions do though.

Some of the unions power is being misplaced, forcing the companies they contract work with into a bunch of extra BS. The work that each trade is allowed to do is very restrictive. What takes a nonunion company 2 guys to complete, often takes the union contractor double because each employee of each trade needs to be there. Ends up being a lot of guys standing around doing nothing at times. The company I work for has been hiring a lot more nonunion contractors lately. The unions are pricing themselves right out of jobs. The company I work for wants to hire the union contractors, they do great work, their safe, and the people working for them are treated right, but sometimes the union itself is too much pain in the butt.

Seems like most of the workers are alright with the givin situations, but it only takes one guy to start a bunch of crap about rules.
"You're not supposed to touch that, its UA work. Thats a teamsters job,we got to get another guy out of the hall for 2 hours work. Only operators can run that equipment. Hey we started five minutes early, we should get paid an extra hour. We're 10 minutes into lunch break, thats an extra hour. Wheres my boot allowance? Hey, welders should be getting more per diem than the laborers. How come that guy gets vehicle pay?" Get the point?

I am pro Union for the employees sake, but the unions themselves should be trying to be more attractive for companies to hire. So many rules and restrictions.

Roman Polanski Arrested
Posted: 9/28/2009 8:20:54 PM
He plead guilty and fled. Hmm, I say let him spend the rest of his life in prison. He has committed 2 crimes and the victim would not still be dealing with any of this extra BS had he not ran. He is a low life coward snake. If he was truely remorseful for any of his actions he would have done whatever time they gave him, and for him to bring the girl back into any of this would just prove it even more. Sickens me that even though he was a fugitive in the states, we still gave him awards.

The reason that partisanship sucks.
Posted: 9/24/2009 1:36:30 PM
There it is.......Only need to read a few posts of this thread to see why partisnship sucks. They just don't see the forest for the trees, only the trees they like. They are the Loony Left/Right. I love it when they start sighting statistics from their favorite"nonpartisn" organizations, or they wright a 2 page report and post it. Like we're all gonna read it anyhow.......maybe if you really were one of our public representatives we would pay that much attention, but your probably just a Loony nut bag with a PC.

How to eat on 200 dollars a month? (Frugal)?
Posted: 9/22/2009 9:17:47 PM
Venison. Wild game is low in fat and many hunters are more than happy to share some of their cache. My family and friends are always digging into my freezer for elk/deer burger. For my personal usage an elk every other year is plenty, but after the handouts I can easily go through one a year. Lots of hunters like people to sample thier prize. Also my neighbor Susan works in a butcher shop a few days a year for free meat. She does it more because she says "At least I know where its coming from" than any other reason. Butcher shops get busy in the fall.

So Jehovah's Witnesses showed up at my door...
Posted: 9/21/2009 10:07:17 PM
Ah yes. They showed up at my door one sunny day and I was ready. I knew they'd be coming at some point they had already left the pamphlets at my door twice before. We seen em pull up my long driveway, 2 well dressed young guys got out of the car and headed up to my porch. They knocked on the door and I jerked it open. My cousin ran outside with his shirt off hollerin "They've finally found us, don't let em take me away." He started circling thier car kinda looking under it and in the windows. They looked a little shocked and looked back at me.

I had my 20 gauge shotgun leaned up against the wall within easy reaching distance and started talking crazy asking "Who sent you, where are the others hiding. They said "Sir we are just here from the somethin or other church of christ and..." I cut them off and tried to get them inside. I said "Hurry before they see you." I'm tellin you those boys were backing off the porch fast and tried setting their pamphlet down on the dog house but I hollered "Don't leave that there, they are gonna find you." They snatched it back up and headed for the car. My cousin was still paraiding around the car yelling "Its them, they know everything, this is the same car." He was cussing and begging them not to take him again. He even licked the window after they got in it.

I can't remember all that was said, but the looks on their faces was priceless, they were scared. My cousin is about 300 pounds and for a minute I thought he had gone crazy. The only thing we were missing was the tin foil hats.(so they can't read our thoughts you know). They haven't been back for a couple years, but I'll be ready. I still laugh the way they looked at each other when I tried to get them inside, wasn't happenin, it was great fun. Reminds me......I need to make up some tin foil hats.

End of Clunkers has Predictable Result
Posted: 9/21/2009 7:47:01 PM
I'm laughing. Here I have been sayin bad things about cash for clunkers and now its cash for appliances. The reason I'm laughing is because 3 months ago my dishwasher took an unrepairable dive and last month my fridge started crapping out on me. I try to live within my means so I've just been handwashing dishes and kicking my fridge.

I still don't agree with any Clunkers plan, and eventually I would have had to pay full price for new appliances unless I bought used, but the government is gonna sucker me into this one I can see it. You know I'd never owned a dishwasher before but I got a new place a couple years ago and my mom gave me her old dishwasher. That thing was awful handy, let me tell you what. I had no plans on purchasing one any time soon, but if I'm gonna be payin taxes for someone else to have a new car and appliances then I might as well cash in too. What a crock of sh** really.

If Cash for Appliances is true then I'm gonna post a thankyou later to all the hard working, tax paying americans. For helping me to buy something I should be perfectly capable of buying without any help. I will be buyin enviro friendly appliances so other than the waste my old appliances make, the earth will be a much better place. Think I'm gonna puke........wake up America.

hand held gps units
Posted: 9/21/2009 7:18:13 PM
I have been working with several types of GPS units this last year. The Garmins were good, but I'd stay away from the Garmin Rinos. Get a unit with plenty of buttons, the 2 and 3 button units are a pain in the ars, because you have to scroll through more screnes for simple functions. Out of all the GPS's that we used the Garmin 60CSX was by far the best and easiest. It held signal better and was just a great unit all around, but it costs about $350 bones. Its the one I'll end up getting.

And something else you might think about, is a computer program called Terrain Navigator. It is topo maps for the state you purchase and works great with your Garmin on the PC and its fairly easy to use. If you get the Pro version of Terrain Navigator it also hooks up directly with Google Earth on a split screne. It makes the GPS so much more usefull to have that program, but I think it runs about $350 also. We used that program and GPS units to route right of way, identify streams, rocky ground and of course some new secret hunting locations. It shows lots of roads, elevations and ridges and it only takes a minute to plug in new routes or waypoints to see right where you were. It was lots of fun to use and so simple this hillbilly could do it. I can't see buying the GPS without Terrain Navigaitor now that I've tried it.

Hope that helps.

UFC 103
Posted: 9/20/2009 11:55:49 AM
Me and some guys from work reserved a table at Hooters restaurant. Women, booze, UFC and College football at the same time. It was fun for sure. The fights were good, Mirco Crocop has not looked the same since Pride. Don't know whats up there, but he did roll into the octagon wearing an old school Pride shirt. Vitor Belfort is always a finisher. If he sees any sign of weakess in his apponent he jumps all over them and its lights out, not looking good for Franklin. I'd like to see Vitor fight Anderson Silva. Lots of excellent battles last night.

Is this a bad time to become Self-Employed?
Posted: 9/19/2009 9:29:19 AM
Just want to throw this at you. I recently looked into starting my own company. It would be in the construction field, which is pretty competetive anyhow, but thats not what stopped me. There is so much paperwork, permitting, bonding, and over regulation that I would have had to hire someone full time to keep up on it. My buddy opened his own company and at the end of his second year got audited. He ended up owing the govt. so much money he had to file bankruptcy and almost lost everything. He wasn't avoiding payin taxes, just didn't understand the rules and by the time interest and penalties were aplied he was finished. Same thing happened to my old mans company, which was fairly large, but it was his own acountant that didn't even understand all the rules.

Make sure you cover your bases. Bills add up quick if your not careful, even if you think you've done it all right. Its hard to repay money thats already been spent.

Good luck.

I have been looking for bigfoot since I was a kid. Probably just a myth, but its fun to imagine. I spend a lot of time in the woods and hunting, but the last thing I would do is shoot him. Might even hurt myself trying to dig a camera out of my truck.

Caught a cool looking spider one time in a briar patch. Couldn't find anyone that new how to identify it, so I let it go. Went as far to buy a book on spiders, but the danged thing weren't in there.

Stimulus Spending Not Working?
Posted: 9/18/2009 8:39:20 AM
If you are a member of a full referal union, at least in Washington or Oregon, you do not have to do your job search, because aparently the union does it for you. So if you sign up on the out of work list at the union hall that is all that is required for unempoyment benefits. Its a fact. I was a union laborer for 4 years and didn't have to make any excuse for why I didn't report for a job that was available. When the employment security dept. called me I'd just say "I'm a union laborer" and if I chose to sit on unemployment until my benefits ran out there were no reprocutions.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a pro union guy for the most part, but some of their practices are out of control. We are working with a union contractor right now and many of the workers feel the same way. Some guys will work just long enough to build up their unemployment benefits and then coast until they run out. Max benefits in this area is somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 dollars/week. I could easily live off that. So extending unemployment benefits for people isn't all that great a policy either. Some need it, but many will abuse the system.

Stimulus Spending Not Working?

You're danged right I'll get my tractor(earn it), and before this economy comes out of the hole. Auction prices are crazy low right now. Problem is I'm buying a tractor to make money with and my bankrupt neighbor has got the same idea as me. So I'll help pay for his tractor that costs me jobs hmmmm. Sounds about right.

I agree that the infastructure spending is good, Obama is on the right track there. Better roads, power grids, sewage and water services. Lots of people working......Eventually. Its the bailouts that bother me. Acountability is not: giving incentives to those who defaulted. The banks that didn't default should have all the stroke now, but thats not the case.

And the Cash for Clunkers money, sure I would've liked to get a piece of that action. But a new car loan is a big deal, something a person should be prepaired for, think about a while. Yet Obama has been in office less than a year and this brain fart came up in less than half that time...........Quick buy a car its Cash for Clunkers time. HeHe maybe next time they anounce it responsible people will be ready. Theres some more of that acountability.

Stimulus Spending Not Working?
Posted: 9/17/2009 6:40:31 PM
No Jack d ripper. I've never recieved any first time home buyer money. Aparently the poor mans box of a house I bought the first time around didn't qualify. But had I got some sort of tax credit like that, my money would have gone right back into the economy. Or a credit for the vehicle I own and pay regularly for. Not just being a sap on the economy. The government loves people like me, we pay the bills on time, don't overextend ourselves, don't qualify for tax credit and if we get laid off we go to work where we can no matter how cruddy the job.

I don't hurt, doing all right in fact. Got an ok rig, a fixer upper house, a new fishin pole, and some toys. I just think sometime it has to come down to acountability. My money would go to a tractor, someone made the tractor, someone sold the tractor, lots of people involved there, but not the tax payers......get it. I'm not buying because I live within my means. Give me an $8000 dollar tax credit on the house I've been paying on for the last 3 years and look what happens to my money. Instead the taxpayers get to flip the bill for people who screw up, so I lose out on both ends. No incentive for me to buy and I get to help the screwups. Just don't seem fair. Thats all I'm sayin. Earn your money, spend responsibly, and quit taking moneys away from the people that do.

There is no part of this stimulous plan that says you have to have a job to get these deals either. My exgirlfriend traded in her crummy old Ford Exploder for a new car, but she only works part time(shes lazy). The government is offering the money but lending practices haven't changed enough. If people start going into default on these new home/car loans, lots of us are going to be mad. There needs to be jobs.

There are ways to create jobs right now "shovel ready", but our govt. Dem/Rep just can't seem to figure it out.

Stimulus Spending Not Working?

Ugh. Always impresses me when someone gets a tax credit I can help pay for. The cash for clunkers, first time home buyers, the banks, the car companies and all that other garbage. Good for everyone. I'll just go to work tomorrow and keep paying my taxes and bills.......you know how it is living within your means.

I say we create jobs. Lets do some environmental cleanup projects, our rivers look like dumps. Save some Salmon and all. What happened to logging? Oh yeah both Bush and Obama have put a bunch of restrictions on logging federal land. I'm not seeing a whole bunch of new jobs in my neck of the woods. They are hanging some new powerlines, but thats not much. There are a ton of windmills going up but that all started before Obama got into office and they don't look environmentally friendly to me anyhow. Lots of places I've been this year have crummy old aluminum plants that have been shut down(not sure why), but those need to be cleaned up or reopened. What an eye soar. I'm sure some of the stimulus jobs are still coming but they are sure moving slow.

On another note, my buddy lost his job and house, new truck.......lets say he over extended himself. The funny thing is the bank keeps calling him back trying to get him to buy his old house, offering him these "Special Deals", but he don't even have a job. Hes been on unemployment almost 2 years and since he's union, he don't have to look for a job, just sign his name on a list.

I aint getting no special deals. If I did, my money would be spent on something cool like a new tractor. Guess I don't qualify though, so I'll just go on living within my means. Maybe someone that defaulted on their loan can get a new tractor.

Goverment trust

I realate to Smartones last post. First time I voted was for Clinton(first term), voted for Bush Jr.(first term), and voted for Republican this last time because I was finished with the Clintons and didn't really know anything about Obama and this change crap he was spueing out made me skin crawl. Voted for noone twice. Really wasn't too fond of McCain but there was no chance of an Independent winning and he had a proven service to our country so he got my vote. I trust none of our elected officials, most every one is bought off in some way.

How could we not see the dot com failure coming(people were investing in lies), the housing market(Loans for all), the Enrons and Investment scams? Automobiles, cell pones, computers etc. all designed with short lives. How do we end up in a war with no good game plan until its too late to get out, why do the big failing companies get bailed out but not the small ones? Representatives on both sides of the line are responsible for these mistakes. Every idiot that makes terrible decissions is qualified for some sort of tax discount or special break, but the responsible people pay for it. I'm a pro Union guy, but they are completely out of control, I work with them every day.

The govt. is failing us in my opinion, has been for quite some time. Anything they do creates a paper trail ten miles long with fees and unbalanced practices, so much that very little good is acomplished in the end. Right down to the State level nothing that happens is really justifiable. I wanted to open my own company but with all the rules and regs it just wasn't worth it. There is so much waste and mismanagement its disgusting. Theres all this finger pointing at the presidents, but they are only tools for the rest of the idiots to blame. We cant even punish criminals like we should, how stupid is that.

How Many Forum Members Does It Take To Change A Lightbulb?
Posted: 9/3/2009 10:48:56 AM
There will be many posts claiming that there wouldn't be any light bulbs if the Democrats had their way. The Democrats would slam Republicans for allowing ineficient light bulbs. By the end of it all Obama and Bush would be blamed for all the worlds problems, and this would become a political thread that spoke nothing of light bulbs.

Please Explain!!! I Am Perplexed...
Posted: 9/2/2009 10:33:08 PM
It is horrible. At work we have the porta jons and its disgusting what can happen in there. Are some people part monkey and don't mind throwing poo everywhere? I have many times seen some poo right next to a toilet on the floor, TP and all. Some public restrooms look as tho they had been spackled in poo. I have got to the point where in the mornings its all I can do to try and squeeze one out or hold it in all day with a turtle head poking out my ars just to not have to use a public restroom or on site porta potty. My dogs have more integrity than some of these losers. I feel lucky to be a guy and able to just piss on a tree.

I mean if someone were in a bynd and couldn't quite make it that would be one thing, But its like they were crapping while riding a tilt a whirl at the fair. I thought it was just guys so I snuck into the women jon and couldn't believe it but the monkeys had got in there too. Give me a break.

This might be the best topic ever for an online dating site.

What does
Posted: 9/1/2009 9:04:15 AM
Thats funny. The only vehicles I've owned besides Chevy/GM are a couple old VW bugs and currently a little Toyota pickup I bought for $1500 dollars because the price was right. That Toyota has 280,000 miles on it and runs like a champ. It don't smoke, a few minor things are broken, but the only thing I've done to it is replace the clutch and U joints on the driveline, and I treat that truck bad.

What kills me about all the trucks nowadays is this. My little Toyota is an 1989 model and gets as good of gas mileage as the new little Toyotas............Hmmm. I had a chevy Luv pickup 1977 with a 4 cylinder diesel motor that got 40 plus MPG. Now it was no power house but my job requires me to have a truck and I get payed mileage, and so when purchasing my new vehicle in 07 I looked for good gas mileage. None of the little trucks manufactured today, that I could find, got very good mileage. I would just use my old Toyota for work, but the company I work for wants us to have newer vehicles, aparently they say an older truck ain't as reliable..........they are soooo wrong.

One would think that with around 20 years of technology we would be doing much better on fuel than the older trucks, but thats not the case. The larger trucks are doing better on fuel economy tho. Its rediculous. Hell my little Toyota even meets todays emission standards.

What does
Posted: 9/1/2009 7:49:48 AM
I have been a Chevy/Gm buyer all my life, driving a GM pickup right now. That whole bailout thing really pissed me off....Ford didn't need it. Can't see where bailing out GM is creating many American jobs. Won't be buying another GM product. Govt. Motors, Global Motors, Give Money, Giant Mistake, whatever you want to call it, I'll be buying a Ford next time. If they can't build a company strong enough to make it through the good times and the bad then they don't need to be in business.

On another note, my truck is a 2007 GMC Canyon 4x4 and at 100,000 miles it is starting to fall apart. Piece of crap for sure, only got 17,000 miles out of the tires it came with, the wind howls around my passenger door, seat handles are both broke, wouldn't start the other day for some reason the GM mechanics don't know why, the battery terminal fell off at 30k, the tranny is slipping, the drivers side window motor is shot, started smelling a little antifreeze the other day(can't see a leak), the tire pressure monitors come on at random, the brakes have a bad chatter, the dash squeaks all the way down the road and I have never replaced so many light bulbs on any rig I have ever owned.

I could go on, but for me GM means Garbage Maker.

Former Gold Metal Olympian/Pro Wrestler Kurt Angle Arrested
Posted: 8/22/2009 11:32:35 PM
Things like this are depressing for sure. Angle is an awesome athlete, with or without the doping. Gotta respect what he brings to the game. Lots of major athletes getting caught up in the doping. Trying to be better, winning your game at any cost. These drugs are considered "drugs" for a reason. Side effects are a problem but players take chances hoping they wont get caught or have any bad effects from the drugs........lots of people get lucky, superstars or not.

Makes people crazy, tell you what. Jack Daniels makes me a little crazy now and then, but I don't do nothing worth throwing me in jail for. Doping...........kinda seems a little unfair for the people who didn't. Seems like its a lot more of the people that have been doping are getting into trouble too. There are better ways to stop it but we don't. I'm sure theres a really good reason that it is allowed to go on, but thats not one of my worries for sure. Angle probably thinks he's acting completely normal. He takes quite a beating at work also. Now he's really gonna be pist.

The hunters of Saskatchewan
Posted: 8/11/2009 10:52:44 PM
I don't know what the prison situation is like in Canada, but here in the U.S. we are full. There was a group of hunters here in Washington state that did a bunch of poaching, they even had a nickname "The Kill'em all Boys". They got caught, when they took an undercover agent on some hunts with them. They all got a slap on the wrist as far as I'm concerened. Its one thing to poach an animal for food, but what they did was rediculous. The true story was never put in the papers, but the undercover agent that was with them actually shot an endangered Lynx. I'm sure the Saskatchewan boys did far more poaching than was put on the net.

All kinds of criminals are getting away with very little punishment here in the states and so the crimes will continue. Poachers make the rest of us hunters look bad and theres not a danged thing we can do about it.

It all comes down to punishing criminals and until we change the system the criminals have little to fear.

Nogueira vs. Couture confirmed for UFC 102
Posted: 8/10/2009 9:23:57 PM
I'll take Couture, barely. Jardine, Vera, and I'm not sure who Gonzaga is fighting but I'll take the other guy. I also would like to see the UFC aply the five round rule for Nog and Couture, hopefully it don't come down to a disputed decision. These guys deserve to be treated like champions.

Even without a championship fight this is a great card.

NCAA Football Season 2009
Posted: 8/10/2009 4:02:32 PM
Well up here in the PAC 10, things are looking up. I don't think theres any chance that the University of Washington or Washington State could possibly do as bad as last season. Oregon and Oregon State are both gonna win games, and I think the Oregon Ducks will win the PAC 1o. We are sick of USC up here, and every other team from California come to think of it.

The PAC 10 probably wont win the National Championship this season, but I do think we are gonna knock some good teams out of the running.

UFC 101: Florian vs. Penn
Posted: 8/9/2009 10:33:39 PM
We watched the fights a couple times, mostly wondering what happened to Forest. Tell you what, I was sure Forest was going to be bigger than Silva when they stood chest to chest, but man was I wrong. Silva looked every bit as big as Forest, uses his reach perfectly, and he's super fast for light heavywieght. Forest had no chance and it looked like he had never recovered from the Rashad Evans knock out. He didn't like getting punched at all, and he couldn't hit Silva with anything, way too slow.

The Penn/Florian fight was by far the best. B.J. Penn is devestating at this weight. Diego/Penn will be good. The fight I bad want to see is Machida/Silva. How awesome would that be. Dana White needs to get the ball rolling on that one. The Dragon Vs. The Spider

And how stupid do I look thinking Forest would win. Idiot. At least B.J. had me covered.

Girls, and kick in the balls humor
Posted: 8/4/2009 9:45:29 PM
Too funny and perplexing. We were warming up for softball one day, my buddy wasn't watching the ball and took a direct hit. As I looked around..... guys all were in shock, covering our own junk, legs crossed and squirming, looking as if we felt the pain for our downed comrad. The women were all laughing. They deserve the pain of child birth, its only fair.

Affliction vs UFC - an opinion piece
Posted: 7/23/2009 7:16:34 PM
So, Sooooo disapointed. Been wanting to see that fight for a while now and Barnett blows it for everyone. Not looking good for Affliction, great fighters are hard to come by and they have lost some of their best heavyweights. The only thing stopping Fedor from fighting in the UFC is Dana White. Dana wants Fedor exclusively and Fedor wants to be able to fight in Sambo competions and such in his own country too. Can't blame Fedor for that. Josh Barnett will be lucky if the Russian mofia doesn't hunt him down. What a joke, and to think he used to be one of my favorite fighters.

Brett Favre to Retire
Posted: 7/19/2009 11:40:58 PM
I like Favre, and think he should play. If he is that interested in furthering his career then maybe he should come in as a backup. He's football smart, a great leader, and as a good seasoned backup QB he is perfect. It might not be the role he wants, but there might be several good years of football for him that way. And you never know, look what Kurt Warner has done during his career. Sitting on the bench a while makes some people better.

Ever been excitied and nervous at the same time ?
Posted: 7/19/2009 11:02:56 PM
This morning. Went fishing out in the Columbia River, I was realing in a Stealhead as a ships waves were hitting us. My buddy had the net and about fell off the boat, my fish was barely hooked and we could see there wasn't enough time to wait out the waves. It was a little touch and go there for a while. In the end nobody got wet and that Stealhead is mighty good eating.

And to make me even more nervous hanging out on the back step of the boat, a guy drowned in the Cowlitz River not too far up river from where we were fishin on Friday. A 2o year old guy jumped in the river and was able to save a 9 year old girl but couldn't get himself back out of the current. Sounds like several people almost got in trouble trying to save the girl. The dude is a hero, died a hero.

UFC 101: Florian vs. Penn
Posted: 7/19/2009 10:44:18 PM
Well, just for fun..........I think Forest wins, by some sort of ground and pound. I think he'll be able to use his size and stamina to beat Silva, unless Silva catches him with something nasty, maybe an elbow in the clinch. Hate to bet against Silva, but this should be kick ass either way. This could end up looking like when Rashard fought Forest.

I'll take Penn over Florian. Me thinks Penn catches him with a big punch or knee for the victory, he's got them heavy strikes. Sometimes Penn is awesome and sometimes he's out of shape, hes tough to bet on, and you know Florian will be ready. I don't listen to much of the gossip in the UFC, I just want to see good fights.

Worst Job You've Ever Had
Posted: 7/17/2009 12:03:48 AM
Jimi77, "Underground pipelin", Thats my job.......Love it, other than the being away from home, getting dirty in bad conditions don't bug me at all. I'd have to say my worst job was my first official job started the day after I turned 16, it was at Fred Meyer. All the gossip and B.S. was disgusting and customer service made me sick. I started working construction and will die working construction(mostly pipeline) with a smile on my face.

I can work in snow, rain, mud, extreme temps, blowing wind and physically miserable conditions with no problem, but there is no way I'll work in customer service at gossip central ever again. Whats funny is that my job at Freddies wasn't bad, its people that made it crappy. Rude customers and "did you here about so and so" give me a break.

Whale Wars, anyone else love it for the wrong reason?
Posted: 7/12/2009 10:34:01 PM
They are such bad Seamen that you can't help but watch. Its like none of them have ever stepped foot on a boat before. Someone will probably get killed without a Japanese boat in the area.

The show reminds me of the Axe Men logging show. The Axe Men got into a boat in a Pacific Northwest River and proved to be the dumbest Mariners to ever log. It was comical because they were so bad at running the boats, just like the Whale war boats.

This crew is seriously lacking in the right skills to do a good job, they are scary and I wouldn't want to be on a boat with any one of them including the captain that parked them in that ice graveyard.

Japanese Knotweed is the devil. I have been fighting it for years. In Washington state it is I believe number one on the invasive species list right now. Don't mow it. The little pieces you chop up just spread it even more. Its the devil I tell ya. It is destroying the stream near my house. Best of luck getting rid of it.

UFC 100 Let the speculation begin
Posted: 7/12/2009 9:36:11 PM
All of the UFC champions right now are bad asses. Every weight class has an elite fighter at the top, can't think of a time that the UFC has looked any better.

We recorded the fights so I watched it again this evening. A fight like Akiyama and Belcher should be ruled a draw. 2 men standing at the end and its really too close to call it a loss for somebody after they fought like that and were still ready to fight. Draws need to be used if there is not an obvious winner, or let it go another round. I mean a fights not really over until someone.......... is finished.

I watched the Hendo Knock Out/Shut Up punchs a few more times, they will be on all the ultimate knock out videos and Hendo probably gets knock out of the year. The "Count" is probably still counting sheep.

GSP is in awesome physical shape for his fights. His upper legs are big, lots of power in those takedowns that nobody seems to be able to stop. Alves looked bad.

Did anyone else notice the excessive slobber coming out of Lesnars mouth? I think he has rabies. Its like climbing into the ring with a bear, but I like the Nature Channel.

Good UFC for sure. Akiyama/Belcher was a great fight, would've liked to see it go five rounds, these guys put on a show. Henderson chased Bisping around the ring all night with that right hand, then caught him, and that extra flying full power shut up punch was wicked(could've killed him). Bisping probably won't talk smack no more, to anyone. Lesnar dominated Mir and that cheak bone might need surgery. Incredible strength. Funny he wasn't able to treat Couture that way, had to earn that victory. GSP looked great except when he was on his back, hmmmmmmmm, still he dominated and looked to be in great shape. I hope his growing isn't injured too badly.

And Lesnar at the end of the match slobbering all over the place says to the crowd "I'm gonna go home and drink a Coors Lite because Bud Lite won't pay me any money and then maybe I'll lay on my wife." She looked pretty happy about it.

Glad I didn't miss this UFC.

Bugs are freakin' awesome.

You know those pictures come up quick and they are big, good pics too. I need to learn that trick.

Something else about bugs. Y'all ever heard that the number of bees has been going down dramaticly? I got a theory. Simply look at the front of my truck. I couldn't imagine the number of bees and other bugs that are killed daily by vehicles. How fast do those things reproduce anyhow.

Bugs are freakin' awesome? Man you don't have my job. I've been out in the brush kinda surveying and I've had just about enough of them dang bugs. Got a tick bite so big it looked like a third boob. Had a spider bite swell up like golf ball, saw him do it. Big flies, small flies, biting flies and about 14 breads of nats. I swear flies aim for your eyes and ears. Walked through a bees nest, didn't get stung but thats the fastest I've ran in years. Inch worms, slugs, ants and little green things. Mosquitoes sucked a quart of blood out of me the other day. I get back to my Motorhome and litteraly shake out my clothes and do a tick check before gettin in the shower.

Don't get me wrong I love my job, but bugs suck. Now in my opinion its Mammals are freakin' awesome, other than a bear that had me a little spooked.

Did see a cool dragon fly the other day, it was trying to mate with another dragon fly, should've took a picture.

New LED flashlight : ) !!!!
Posted: 6/29/2009 11:07:13 PM
Yeah those Sure Fire lights are cool. I have the Wolf Eyes version of that light. I keep a streamlight on the charger in the house but take my Wolf Eyes with me. You shine one of these bright lights into the eyes of a criminal, rabbid dog, vampire, whatever and they won't be seeing things quite the same. They are too bright for some applications. I have used mine next to guys holding mega power spotlights hooked to a car battery and they couldn't believe how bright my little light was. Ahhhh the power of light.

Somebody mentioned "Stoning them to death". Sign me up to be a rock thrower. The people in the position to be on death row are really the scum of the earth. They commit a terrible, intentional crime and not only need to be put down, they deserve to be stoned to death. We could get the rocks for free.

Are you afraid of flying in planes?
Posted: 6/2/2009 10:21:48 PM
Not so much bothered by flying in planes, but helicoptors......argh. My job kinda requires helicoptor rides and I get sick, literally. We had to land twice so I could get out and finish puking my guts out. Dramamine makes me so drowsy that the flights are pointless since I'm trying to survey. My eyes water, nose runs, head starts spinning, and then I empty my stomache into a crappy little bag. It takes at least a day to get right again.

I've tried about everything around to not get sick or drowsy, but nothing works like it should. Theres another flight scheduled for next week and I'm already scared. Motion sickness like that is a really bad feeling. There are 2 choices for me, feel crappy and get sick or be drowsy and near worthless. Adding to the misery is my coworkers laughing at me...........Stupid helicoptors.

stupid things that scare you
Posted: 5/27/2009 9:42:53 PM
I'll be down at my favorite fishin spot, got it all to myself, fish bite on the first cast, listenin to the birds and the water as it tumbles over the rocks and then................... a rumbling, getting lowder and look up to see a mountain of water, wood and debris boiling down the river at me. Safety is only a little ways away but I'm moving so slow that I can't escape. Its like I'm running in quick sand. Finally I wake up, wondering............how many salmon were in that hole today, and why was I running so slow? Then a space ship takes off out of my yard. Scary, let me tell you what.
