spyware blaster
 you need ALL of them; i routinely have an infection that only ONE of these things picks up -- and i run SYMANTEC anti-virus & their FIREWALL.
ALSO: VERY IMPORTANT to maintain the proper settings for your security software.
if STILL have infection issues, download HIJACKthis, generate a log, and post it to a GOOD open forum -- like landzdown.
 internet explorer attracts infections like MAD. best to use firefox, or opera. i've been infected SO MANY TIMES, i don't even allow things like JAVA to run -- unless i'm having trouble with a specific page. then, i change the settings.
but -- you've GOT to set the apps up right. not all the defaults are the most secure ones. i don't have a specific link for those, but landzdown.com is very good for that kind of thing...
