Online Shopping
Posted: 11/6/2010 5:45:50 PM
I have only used Tesco's online shopping once, that was last Christmas, they charged £6 (it is Christmas after all !!) and only 2 substitutions were made both were acceptable. I would use them again if I had to buy a large amount, but in general there's only me to shop for so don't use them as a norm.

Bigger [new airbus]
Posted: 11/6/2010 5:39:49 PM

I flew on an A380 with Emirates in Feb,

The difference being that Emirates uses the GP7000 engine and not the Rolls Royce Trent.....and it appears that the alleged design fault is only on the Trent engine.
I am flying out this Tuesday on an Emirates A380, so it is a little less scary knowing that. Although I did fly back from Singapore last year on Singapore Airlines A380 which does use the Trent engines, didn't have any problems at that time thank God.

Sleeping separately....
Posted: 8/22/2010 4:34:45 AM
My adopted parents celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary this year, my mother has only ever been out with one man and that's my dad, he snores like the proverbial train, so I have just rang and asked her this question her answer was quite simply "No" , she said I doubt I've had a decent nights sleep in 50 years but I love him and my vow was for better or worse.......... For me personally I don't function too well without sleep so I can see the advantages of sleeping alone, and maybe on occassion I would do that but not every single night no.

Panic buying....Should limits be set on what shoppers can buy?
Posted: 1/6/2010 6:44:27 AM
OP have you run out of Hob Nobs or did you bulk buy ?

I don't panic buy, but if I know there is a chance of not being able to get to the shops, I will make sure to put an extra loaf in the freezer and a spare carton of milk too, other than that it won't hurt for me to go without for a few days...
I do think there is a culture that some people at the mearest hint of a shortage of a product will just strip the shelves bare " just in case" so maybe a quantity limit rather than a time limit would be better.

Toe sucking/kissing?
Posted: 1/3/2010 3:02:25 AM
One of my ex's used to like to suck my toes, althought they had to be clad in black seamed stockings, and I had to have been wearing my boots, so my feet were nice and hot, nowt so queer as folk, but to be fair the sex was out of this world.............

Thanks SS , I was a very lucky lady I know, he wasn't off POF ,he was off the site that is advertising 1000's of extra men/ women needed (rhymes with patch) ............ but I will not let one bad experience cloud my judgment, not all men are @rseholes.

Off topic slightly.......do you avoid men that say they are looking for "fun" ......I think a mans interpretation of "fun" and a womans are hugely different, my perception of a mans "fun" is $ex whereas a womans is going to a comedy club or having a laugh, or maybe I'm just a fruitcake ? ( don't answer that )

Does my bum look big in this?
Posted: 11/1/2009 5:19:14 AM
every woman knows that if you want to be lied to you take your girlfriends out shopping with you

GG when I go shopping with my girlfriends I never lie to them, if she looks like a sack of $hit I will tell her so, it's why they always take me with them shopping cos they know I wont lie to them.

OP you did the right thing in telling the truth, but there's a right way and wrong way of saying actually they are way too small, maybe say that the cut isn't right on that particular brand of Jeans / or whatever she's trying on.

Proper dates please
Posted: 11/1/2009 5:09:18 AM
When I first started online dating I was very naive, one incident has made it very clear just how dangerous this dating lark can be.

We met in a pub and had a drink ( me an orange juice cos I was driving), we chatted and got on well, the last bell rang and I said it was time for me to leave, he said he'd see me to my car ( still no alarm bells) .......I had parked my car in the car park with no thought to the fact it was not a well lit car park........ it was cold and so I opened my car to get in, as I opened the door he pushed me in and was trying to rape me, I screamed but no one came to help, I managed to kick out and caught him in the right place ( his genitals) scrambled in the car and locked the door, got my keys in the ignition and just drove hell for leather.......since then I take no chances.

Please tell me people I am not the only one who wants to date somone how we used to?
Or is it only my generation that has a fixation on wanting a "proper" relationship?
No OP you're not alone in wanting this, and I'm sure by eliminating the dross you will eventually find the one right for you, don't accept second best and don't give up hope..........I know many people that have met and married people they have met online so it does work.

Geographical Conundrum
Posted: 10/17/2009 6:47:39 AM
A friend of mine has asked if anyone can help with the following conundrum.

If Essex relates to the East , Sussex relates to the South , Wessex relates to the West and Middlesex relates to the middle of the 'sex's' what happened to the North why is there no Norsex ?

I do also realise that officially Middlesex and Wessex no longer exist but any opinions on this would be appreciated........

shopping a chore or fun?
Posted: 10/8/2009 2:18:14 PM
I don't like food shopping at all, but I can easily spend 8-10 hours on a Saturday shopping in London or down at Blue-Water, no problem, although now it's getting near to Christmas I will most likely stay away, because half of that time will be spent looking for a parking space.......

I have yet to find my core in fact I wasn't aware I needed one until I went to the class ! On Wednesday's I do Cardio work, and Thursday's I do a class called 20/20/20 translated it's a class to show you how unfit you really are and for all the nubile 20 year olds to laugh hysterically at the old girl who has lost any co-ordination she had years ago.........but I really enjoy it.....no truly I do

What have your dates been like so far?
Posted: 10/6/2009 5:50:51 AM
Most of mine have been pretty good, I tend to meet people as a friend, if there is some chemistry between us then maybe a second or third date will follow, but can't say I've had any bad ones from here, there was one off a paid site that was really scary, but I lived to tell the tale and learnt a valuable lesson......however I'm still looking for that elusive ONE man...........

Should Blood Be Thicker Than Water?
Posted: 10/5/2009 2:21:29 PM
I have a brother and I wouldn't pi$$ on him if he was on fire, not after the way he treated my Mum when she was dying, no way.......He can rot in hell for all I care, so no I don't think blood is thicker than water.

I don't have too many family members left these days and I can't see Uncle Jim aged 88 doing anything that I'd be mortified by, would I side with them just because they're family ? no I wouldn't.

I don't worry too much about the future, financially I'm covered, however i do worry about keeping healthy...........I would hate it if I couldn't get out and about, or became dependant on someone else to care for me, think I'd rather end my life than end up stuck in chair being fed and changed.......not for me.

Strangely enough I play Foto-fishing..........you have to go to various venues and take pictures of elusive fish, you accumulate points and extra time, it was a free game.
I haven't as yet paid to download a game, but that's not to say I wouldn't.

I do find it quite addictive, but the only thing I think it says about my personality is that I like searching for elusive fish

Are There Any Benefits To Wearing White Pants?
Posted: 8/13/2009 2:59:59 PM
I do like to see men in nice tight white boxer shorts.......preferably skid-mark free, so thats a benefit to me

I only wear white nicks when I'm wearing a white skirt or light coloured cropped pants.

Other than that black underwear is considered more sexy, althought I'd say red is hornier..

I wouldn't like to " go for a drive" either as a first meeting type thingy.........

I was once chatting with a guy who was an ex policeman and now worked in security at Canary Wharf, when we arranged the first meet, he suggested I go to his house first and then we could walk to the pub together, when I said NO and gave my reasons he cancelled the meet totally......he really couldn't see what he had suggested was wrong, until I asked him how he would react if his 19 year old daughter told him she was going to meet a total stranger at his house ?.......suddenly it was a different set of circumstances !

NEW ASDA BICYCLE ADVERT..
Posted: 7/23/2009 5:48:01 AM

Has anyone actually seen the new ASDA bike advert?

No not yet.

If you look carefully, the Adult bike has the forks facing the wrong way around. (The forks appeared bent until I noticed that the front brake assembly is "behind" the forks..) This can drastically affect the "handling and braking" of the bike..

Monogamy - your views
Posted: 6/30/2009 9:20:31 AM

Even whilst in a long term relationship, this is still the case. Whilst you may not act on it, there's still that desire to do so, no matter how small.

Isn't that one of those sweeping generalisation remarks ? to tar everyone with your view is a little unfair. I am completely monogomous when i'm in a relationship, even to the extenet that whilst I'm only at the chatting stage, I will decline others that contact me.........maybe I'm just old fashioned

Never heard of it.........so let me try to understand this, you're out walking and you decide you don't want to go home, so knock on someone's door and ask them if you can sleep on their sofa ?

It wouldn't work for me, I like to know the person catching on my sofa

Edit I have very kindlybeen given the link below and based on what I have read then yes I would be happy to let someone have my sofa, although they would have to be under 5ft tall as it is only a 2 seater.

Are You Real In A Relationship?
Posted: 6/5/2009 4:48:46 PM
I try to make an effort for the first date, and I probably talk too much, I put that down to nerves , it would take a special man to make me feel at ease on a first date, and only one man has ever accomplished that. I would say by the 3rd date i'm pretty much at ease, basing a date lasting a couple of hours , if I met someone for the day I'd pretty much be myself by the end of the day. ............by which time I turn back into the **** from hell

Beachy Head Suicide
Posted: 6/2/2009 2:33:36 PM
My friend where I work is 16 weeks pregnant with her first baby, her last blood test revealed she tested very high up on the Downs Syndrome chart and that if she wished they could perform an amniosentisis (SP) test After a discussion with her husband they agreed to the test, while waiting for the results she told me that because the test couldn't determine the degree of Downs that the child might be born with, both her and her husband agreed that if positive she would have a termination. Their decision was not easily made, but both of them decided they wouldn't be able to care for a mentally or physically handicapped child.........luckily for them the test came back negative for Downs.

Not sure what decision I would have made if I were in their shoes, I don't think anyone knows until they are put into that situation.
The fact that the little boy wasn't born disabled is even more tragic.

Do you think such strict morality laws would work here in the UK?

It would be interesting though to see how the muslims living in the Uk would react , if the government were to bring into force in the UK some of the morality laws that they have in Muslim country's .......

Would prison really be a deterrent for those wishing to commit adultery

Not unless the prisons were like those in Midnight Express.........ours are too much like a soft option these days, yes they are locked up, but they have access to studying, gyms, 3 square meals a day, and so long as they don't bend over they're pretty safe

Could I have pushed him ?..........nope not at all, it's not in my nature to cause hurt to another person intentionally.
