Posted: 8/23/2007 1:43:47 PM i come from a small school, mostly farms so its not a weird idea for kids at my old school (im graduated) to think/talk/write/draw guns and stuff of that sort. when hunting season comes kids start comming down with "buck fever" meaning they went hunting instead of coming to school. and in art class kids draw stuff like war and bombs.. nons of them got suspended or even taken to the principles office.. i saw the news this morning about this case. i saw the pic he drew.. it wasnt even a good picture. not that that means anything.. but IMHO id be more worried about the kid that could draw the gun in full detail.. cuz either hes just really good .. or hes studied guns. I believe it is time to back off and let kids be kids.. sure step in to make sure no one dies and stuff like that but.. kids dont even have time to just play anymore. play dates r schedualed now.. i find that very sad.. im gonna end my rant for now.. so i dont start cussing and get mad and not be able to do anything about it. Posted: 8/22/2007 6:59:10 PM i can see sending him to the VP's office or something but suspending him> come on.. idk how many times i drew knives and stuff during school, high school, and teachers saw i had drawn them and i never even got asked y i drew them. now if the kid has been drawing them for a while and its mroe then just a gun or something yeah i can kinda under stand that.. but it was a sketch of a gun.. a doodle. i agree with the fathers reaction to the columbine reference. i think people need to let that fade into the past a lil.. stop bring it up and ppl will forget about it. thats where kids get there ideas.. there parents and the news talking about the shootings at some other school. i really have a problem with the media.. if they would let stuff fade out there wouldnt be so many copy cat killings and such.. in my opinion anyway.. and hey i could be wrong. the governtment needs to back off on a lot of things and school systens is only one of thoes things. im so glad im out of high school.. so very glad.
