What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Posted:

hmmm the best advice I ever got OP, was not too rack up my credit cards lol. If I had known they would be deadly twenty years ago I would have not get one, or two.
One other piece of advice, is don't let people take advantage you on anything, I learned that very well over the years.

Social Anxiety
Posted:
5/3/2009 8:26:21 AM
It was not mainly the medication that I was on OP that helped me through the bad times, I think it was good counselling and also talking to my friends and family. Mistress Kiki, I do do that, talking to people when I am at line ups in the stores, and on the buses etc. That has helped also. I try to pick people whom I think maybe interested in talking.

Social Anxiety
Posted:

For me Op not so much social anixety these days. Over the years I have had a good counselling support, not in it anymore. But sometimes, I do find myself still have some anxiety about going to the events. Feeling afraid of being left in the corner like in highschool. I am not on any meds anymore two months and still strong. I was on effexor for eight years OP. It really helped me I have learned coping skills. I have gone to a couple of brunches they are low key. I also want to try the pool nights too but a little shy. Once I am there I know I will be a social butterfly.

If you were the boss at work, what would you change?
Posted:

If I were the boss at my work OP, I would change the rule where if we were late five or ten minutes getting into work, that we wouldn't have to make the time up. Like knocking off ten minutes off my break!! for only getting anyway a fifteen minute break. Job is part time btw and I am usually on time for work.

Text Messaging Addicts
Posted:
1/16/2009 12:02:55 AM
I don't think I am an addict for text messaging Xavery, but I sure can type fast on my cell lol. I'd say about 6Owpm lol. I wish had a full keyboard on my cell however. When someone who has a full keyboard on their cell, and they text me I can't keep up sometimes cause I am still doing the old fashioned way. When I get two or three messages ahead of me I am still working on the first text that I get. Can be a bit frustrating at times.

I can relate to those kids who get bullied, I was bullied a lot and teased as a child. As the old saying goes: Sticks and Stones may brake your bones, but names will never hurt you. In some cases names can hurt, when your little ones. As adults we should know better right?

Posted:

I have taken off the age range here on my profile, just to see what my response would be, and have been noticing that the younger dudes like older woman. I have received a few messages from the 25 and under range, which is pretty cool. Tells me I still got it. I wouldn't date anybody from high school are you kidding me? I agree with you post 67, age shouldn't be a factor as long as the two parties have something in common.

my boyfriend still has profile up on POF, what do I do?
Posted:
11/26/2008 9:39:25 PM
Hi OP, I have a friend who is going through the exact same thing as you are. My friend is very distraught over this. He tells her he loves her, and wants to marry her and yet they have not been on a real date for six months. He just comes over every second day, just to spend an hour. It is her birthday coming up, it looks like I may I have take her out because her bf won't do it. I even hinted around it too, for him to make the move for her birthday. She asked him to take his profile off a month ago, she took hers off he said he would but he's never done it yet. My friend is asking if it's the same man, lol. Sometimes she feels she is just a fill in till he finds something better.

Well OP, since being on POF for a year now helped my self esteem for the better. I do get compliments now, from some of the guys here who tell me that I am sexy. At first I didn't believe it, I have accepted the fact also that there about a good 50% of you men out there like BBW's. It's a treat when a guy thinks I'm sexy. Yes, thank you ML1.

Well sometimes for me Xavery, I did feel punished I am no longer friends with this person Xavery. I brake back (figure of speech of course) and had gone all out for this one person. All I had got was misery. Well I finally broke off the friendship. This person does not understand the good deeds that I have done for her. The smallest favour I have asked for her to do for me, she would not do. It wasn't completed at all to do it.
