That's actually an EXCELLENT idea!
Hopefully Markus will see this and consider setting up such a mechanism.
I'm also at that threshold, and as I'm not looking, it would be nice to offer the " skins" option to one of my good friends who are still looking.
How about it Markus?

Is that considered a message?
No. But if you add her to your favs as well, both of your contact restrictions are relaxed and either of you can contact the other.

You certainly appear very honest and forth-coming, I'll give you that!
FACTS are; MOST women here DON'T want to get involved with a 'married' man, and all it's associated RISKS!
And LYING won't get you a meaningful, LTR....
A relationship is built on more YOUR dreams...
You want lies?
Ok, You;re THE SEXIEST MAN ALIVE! Now.. As the Mad Cow Containment Team moves in....

Race/Culture Specific Forums

You're welcome.
The exclusion extends to ALL local forums - there were too many complaints about people 'roadtripping' into other local forums that weren't their local. (I guess some folks are REALLY territorial!
)
Yes, the exclusion would be the biggest problem for bias charges, but also there's no 'race verification' available. (Just like age, height, weight, etc. verification
)
In other words, there's nothing to prevent the trolls for creating a race-specific profile in order to stir up their targeted forum.
The forums are often short-staffed with Mods as it is, I honestly don't think there is the man-power to police any race forums, or the stomach to risk the upset and ill-will that would likely be generated.
Until everyone understands that we're all in this world together, open and frank conversations about race, religion, politics, etc will be far and few in-between.
And to face facts; If we all ever reach that understanding of each other, such conversations wouldn't be necessary anyway.
Here's to tolerance and understanding!

I think given the trolling that usually occurs on race-related threads, that this would be a very bad idea.
Ireland has it's own forum as there are enough members to justify having it, not because they are a separate 'race'.
Any
geographic
group usually gets their own forum once they have the numbers to qualify. ie, each US state, Canadian province, etc.
The admin has never set up any demographic-specific forum since 'ask a guy/girl'.(And look at the train wrecks those are!
)
The gay membership have repeatedly requested their own forum for years, so I doubt admin will consider race-specific forums either.

Married Men on POF
Posted:
11/6/2009 8:28:28 AM
Some of us married men have a valid reason to be searching in we are planning on seeking a separation & divorce, due to trying for many years to make the marriage work. I have been trying significantly hard to restore the relationship, but I've been at the end of my rope over and over at some point I want to move on and start a new marriage with someone else, so looking for someone to help me through. I"ve never cheated on my wife and have more determination than most men to make the relationship work, and I think a woman would value these qualities in someone. I would carry on my qualities into my next relationship, so just talk to the quy before you just think everyone who is married is plain out to cheat.
Sorry Dude, I'm calling you on this - You're seeking a woman to 'help you through' while you're
planning on seeking a separation & divorce?!?
That sounds like looking for an affair to me, and I'm sure to quite a few others!
...And
YES,
I AM A MARRIED MAN ON POF!
...My wife has actually become friends with most of my female friends here too!

Britt, I think you KNEW the answer to your question before you even typed it.
Do YOU really need the world at large to tell you what's right in front of you?
You CAN'T justify a relationship that you know isn't going to work for you - posting here won't change that! ; )

Seems very cut-and-dry to me; If anyone states, "I don't need a man/woman", then WHY would even bother with them?!
IF

Not neccessarily because you're not self-sufficient, but just because you're lonely?

Sometimes threads get hijacked, veer off-topic, or erupt into a flame war. The topic may be within the rules, but the behavior of
the posters
to it can cause it to be deleted.
The Mods don't have the time or resources anymore to clean up a spoiled thread, hence the round file;)

No, you're not invisible. I just found you on a user search so you're profile is not hidden.
People DO have the option of not allowing others to see that they've viewed your profile though.
Still, not everyone uses that option, and after a month, I'd expect you to have SOME visible views.
Dunno what the problem is, I'm afraid.
Hopefully someone else can help there.

Just pay a small fee to your local wal-mart!
You can take a paper picture to most customer service centers and they'll scan the pic onto a disc, or if you;re REAL nice, even upload it for you. (NOT recommended!)
Ask any teenager how to upload! l.o.l.!

Depends, is this is 'casual' or 'new'?
If NOT, then it's time to evaluate:
Think of a buffet line - do you want to be something 'sampled'?...
... Or the Main Course?
This differentiates you from an 'All-you-can-eat' vs. an entree at Antoine's...;)
Or to put it another way, mebbe what you settle for is what you get?

Difference in IQ - your experiences?
Posted:
5/12/2009 9:42:41 AM
Isnt it funny OP that the people that usually bring up brains are the ones that think they are smarter; who says you are smarter? I dont know how many have contacted me that tell me how smart they are with all their degrees and they are clueless about life.
This reminds me of something I usually tell people about myself:
"Apparently I'm very smart. Genius level, or so the official paperwork tells me. What the official paperwork doesn't tell me is why I feel like a complete moron so often."
True............... And...
TRUE!
A high IQ is
NO
guarantee of common sense!
I could tell you stories...
Especially from high school!
Still, Most people want/
need
some-one they feel 'gets them' on more than a few levels.
A similar viewpoint is often tied to a similar IQ.
High IQ? It works for me, but doesn't have to for everyone...
Sooo...Not
ALWAYS
neccessary, but...;)
But as has been noted, people who
Compliment
each other will often presevere regardless!
Including those who may have 'IQ' differences! ;)
Good Luck to all in their search!

YES, you are likely being reported by the membership, and YES, some folks seem to be able to 'get away with it'.
Such is life.
If you know that you're 'flagged', it's NOT a good idea to continue flouting the pic-posting rules!
YOU
are the one most likely to suffer for it.

This topic has been re-hashed again?
People are on this site for a myriad of reasons, some are honest, some are not.
It really comes down to the two people in the relationship to decide if staying here is acceptable to each other.
I am happily MARRIED, as of last December, and My WIFE has gotten to know a number of my FEMALE friends from POF, since!
If everyone involved is HONEST, there's really no reason to leave!

your account will be deleted
Remember your kitty-cat picture?
I'd bet that's the reason for your warning.
The only other slim possibility is the word 'mapquest' in your 'about me' might be registering as spam to the 'botware. Just put a space in there and make two words out it and you look like you'll be completely in compliance so far as I can see now.
The fact that you post in the forums raises your visibility on this site and increases your chances of being reported by other members if you're in breach of any rules, with your posting,

Sadly, you'd be AMAZED how many apparently articulate people simply
don't
READ your profile!
Even sadder, there are a few of those who obviously HAVE read your profile, yet CHOOSE to ignore what you have stated! (Gee, you
SURE
you won't make an exception for
ME?!
)
I mean, if some dumba$$ decides to dis-regard your thoughts and wishes, and contacts you anyway, Feel NO REMORSE block/deleting them! If YOUR wishes are secondary to THEIRS,
WHAT
chance do you have of a happy relationship with THEM?! Doooohh!!
They'll always be here, posting on the forums, "why don't men/women respond to my messages?"
You can't help those who are too blind to see ;)
Yet they will never see why they'll always be alone...

Nothing turns up in a usersearch for "Fallenheartz", so your profile was deleted by the site.
If you check the FAQ at the top of this forum you'll find a number of possible reasons why.
No phone numbers, email addies, solicitations, etc. are allowed and are subject to auto-deletion by the 'botware.
Without seeing your original profile, we have no way of knowing what the problem was. Sorry.

Similar does not have to mean "physically" similar - it could be, as suggested, how much mail you receive, how much mail you write, how many emails you respond to, how many favourites lists you're on, the types of profile that you gravitate to through your views, any of the site quizzes that you answered, your demographics, they types of searches you perform - there could be hundreds of metrics on site interaction which could make you, in the absence of a defined criteria "similar".
I will be most interested if and when the selection criteria is ever revealed, Trapped.
I finally gave in and looked at my own 'similars' and find my winning "5 of a kind" poker hand from bigfish again,
plus
a highly regarded forum contributer from Montreal. (Who I recall has acted as a Mod in the past! - A
6
of a kind?! l.o.l.)
Illustrious company notwithstanding, that's more than HALF of my eleven 'similars' not even in Texas! Much less look like me, have a similar number of favs, email, etc.
What can possibly be the criteria?
As I said, I'm very curious to know.
How 'bout it, Marcus?

Got you beat....I have two mods, one bigfish, and one ex mod!^^^^
Got you all beat ~ Bigfish, two mods, one ex mod, and the generic forum mod - That's 5 of a kind!
I can see why people might not be happy with that appearing on their profiles though - If you're trying to promote
Yourself
with your profile, why would you want a direct link to the 'competition' on your profile?
That's like a Ford dealer handing out brochures for the latest Jaguar!

Question regarding Polarized Rule
Posted:

why does the rule still apply to the "ask a guy" and the "ask a girl" sections?
Because people of the same sex can still often offer useful insights?
So yeah, isn't having this rule in those two forum sections kind of against the point that they were originally put there for?
Agreed, but they were never intended to be 'forums' per se, and with any luck, they'll soon be gone anyway.

I know Ron will still be lurking the forums, having a laugh and wishing he could still post.
His spirit will live on through his friends and the forums.

Do you think some people are meant to be alone?

Yes, I certainly do!
Anyone who habitually lies, even (and especially) to themselves, can never truly be happy with themselves, so how can they be happy with anyone else?
Any relationship such a person enters is doomed unless they address their own underlying problems.
